Vegetarian and pescatarian options are available, but be warned, if you don't eat meat, the batter that they dip the fried chicken in is the same batter they dip the onion rings and other fried options that you might consider vegetarian. Fresh farm ingredients and all natural meats. We had the chicken wings which, while small (probably because they use chickens not injected with god knows what), where huge on flavor. We chose the Korean BBQ and I almost wept, they were that good. Accompanying the wings was the Bison Burger cooked to perfect and a great selection of craft beers from the surrounding area. I have to say by far the worse service I have ever gotten. Maybe it's because of the young servers but that is no excuse for poor service. I understand they are summer hires however that shouldn't be a reason to offer low quality service. We were seated after a total of waiting of two hours. Followed by waiting 15 minutes for menus where I had to go in and ask for them myself. We had people who came after us get tables before us even though the whole party wasn't there they were sitting by themselves for well over half an hour before everyone came. They didn't take our order until a manager was called. We were rushed after our meals were given being checked on every 3-5 minutes asking us how our food was and was given the bill after been eating maybe for 20 minutes. We also had the pleasure to be informed by other customers that our seats were guaranteed as soon as we left and to not to worry as we were leaving soon. The Ambiance of the place is very crowded shoulder to shoulder with other tables my back next is next to another person. Like come on seriously?! I was here for my fathers birthday , with my wife heard great reviews from people around. Tables were sticky and filthy not clean at all. Food was alright it'll make a turd. We ordered the patty melt which was 80% bread 20% the description is as following "Toasted challah bread w/ grilled onions, American & swiss cheese" the nailed the toasted bread but the onions weren't even grilled it was practically raw. The patty was burnt and as hard as a hockey puck. I ordered the the Roosevelt which was dry and cold when was given. We also order the flat Mac which was dry and not good as well. I have to state and preface that No one at the table finished our food as the food itself was not good or desirable. the experience and service I received today I would not recommend to anybody. This is the must try place of Lake Geneva. The food is always stellar and it has a fabulous ambiance. The one issue would be it is a small place so seating fills up quick and wait can be long during popular days and times. Definitely get the fries and the appetizers are great. We keep coming back as Flat Iron never disappoints. read more

Getting seated was smooth. Took about 15 minutes. Waitresses were all nice. However, the amount of time it took to get our meal was about 30 minutes, which was okay since it was on a Saturday. I ordered a well done burger (the Wisconsinner). First time I bit into it there was pink. I told my waitress and she took it back. A minute later she came back and brought me the burger back. Great food and beer selections. Burgers are big and tender and juicy. They have a wide variety of non traditional burgers. I had The WisconSinner -- $16 Hill Valley Dairy griddle fried cheese curds, buttermilk fried onion strings, Hometown Sausage Kitchen bacon on a toasted pretzel bun. It was so good. My fiancé had The Van Helsing -- $15 House-made garlic herb compound cheese, garlic aioli, caramelized onions & arugula on a toasted brioche bun. She almost finished hers. My only complaints: It's a smaller place. Seating is limited. I stopped in last summer and had to go somewhere else as it was too full and long of a wait. My cheese curds on my burger were too much for me as I'm lactose intolerant. This is not a negative I just forgot my lactaid. They have lots of craft beers on tap and cans/bottles. They have ciders and wine too. I've been here twice this year and it is worth the wait. read more

This was absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. DO NOT EAT HERE. I came with a group of 6 while on a trip to Lake Geneva and was excited to come here based on the menu. However, we were not served our food for over an hour and a half from when we ordered. The restaurant was not at capacity by any means. The wait staff originally avoided our table and took about a half hour just to bring water. the entrees were not brought out until 2 hours in. At that point we were just excited to get our food. The orders came out with mistakes that lead to more time waiting including a vegetarian order being served a hamburger. Eventually the owner/ manager spoke to one of our table members outside. Management only came to speak with us after we requested to talk to them. At no point during the 2 hours of waiting did the staff come up to us to apologize or explain that the food was on its way. We were left wondering if we had been forgotten. The owner/manager then proceeded to tell my friend that the entire kitchen staff was intoxicated. Absolutely unacceptable considering the fact that they were handling raw meat, fish, and serving food. I personally looked into the kitchen when walking back to the bathroom and it was an absolute shit show chaotic mess that looked disgusting. This was something out of kitchen nightmares. Seeing this made me very uneasy about the meal after the fact and my suspicions were confirmed. That night half of us got sick from the food as well. The restaurant was willing to comp a portion of the meals but it was only after them being scolded for the horrendous service by the kitchen staff and management. Our waitress was doing the best she could considering the fact that their kitchen was being run by drunk kids and their owner was completely apathetic to any patrons and the business as a whole. I fully plan on reaching out to health inspection officials. I would not let anyone I care about eat here for their own health or safety. I wouldn't refer this restaurant to anyone looking to even just sit down for a drink. I do not leave reviews often but this leans itself more to a public safety warning to avoid ruining you weekends and getting sick. read more

For a touristy village like Lake Geneva this place gives off very strong vibes of a city neighborhood bar. The service was fast and the staff friendly. We ordered burgers for us and kids had chicken fingers. Kids meals were obviously Kirkland or maybe Dutch Farms frozen chicken tenders. The burgers were pretty good and had nice flavors. I wasn't a fan of how thick they made the patties (I prefer thinner so it's not as messy) but overall it was tasty. Then the bill came it was very expensive: 100 bucks after tip. read more

Someone else said it, so I'll second the sentiment- I wish this place was in my hometown. There are a lot of old school places in LG that have charm, there are some that are avant-garde type of dining experiences, but what's a better place to go in early fall to see the Bears and Packers playing different games on a Sunday? The food is incredible here. I don't use that phrase loosely. The food is clearly sourced carefully and it shines. We had chips and guac to start- the salsa must be made with Habanero's- it's hot AF but amazing flavor. Chips are handmade and the guac (something easy to do half-assed) was awesome. Likewise, we all had burgers and they were special. My only knock here- I ordered medium well and mine was charred. It was still awesome but I'd suggest ordering a degree rarer than you normally do. Nice selection of beers that you don't see in most places. Service was stellar. You can tell they love what they are doing here, and I am excited to take another trip to LG to enjoy this place again. read more

First time trying this place! Great food, cool design and good service. The cheese curds are a must! I could have eaten more! Pros: -Farm to table food (great quality and very fresh) -Women's bathroom had a nice touch and had tampons for free in case someone needed them. I've never seen that offered ever unless you had to pay for them out of a machine. (Generous touch) -very cleanly overall Cons: -not many cheese curds for 9 bucks -no specialty cocktails just beer and wine (which isn't a complete deal breaker, but would be nice) -no air was on when we came in so it was super stuffy and hot, no windows open for circulation We normally go to oak fire, but when they were closed for Reno we chose to come here and are super happy we tried this place. Heard about this place so we decided to venture over in the midst of a very busy weekend. Only 3 tables outside so we sat inside (plus it was gawd-awful hot!). We were excited to try this place especially with all of the great reviews but that didn't happen. Our burgers were WAY overcooked. My husband's burger was rock solid when he asked for medium rare. It was like a charred brick that you'd chip your tooth on. My burger was a little better cooked with some pink but still hard and dry and I asked for medium rare. The fries have an interesting seasoning - so thats a positive note but they were dry. But their staff was nice. We ordered takeout so we aren't judging too much on the fries but the burgers were definitely not gourmet or worth the cost. Wow! I wish this gastropub was in my hometown. The burgers were unreal, they had a fantastic beer selection, and our waitress did a fantastic job! I hate that I didn't write the review while I was there because I've forgotten her name, but the service was great. I think it's worth adding that we're not the easiest guests! I was staying at the Mill Creek Inn so I decided I'd walk across the street and get a burger. It was a Friday night and the place was packed. The person who was seating. people told me that there were no seats available so I asked if I could get takeout. After about 10 minutes he gave me a menu. I had been sitting at an empty table that I was told they were reserving for a party of eight. Another 10 minutes goes by and the young man who was seating people came up to me and told me I would have to move so I moved to another empty table that I was told was reserved as well , another 15 minutes goes by and he comes over to me again, telling me I can't sit there and I would have to move even though no one was sitting at the table. No one ever came to take my order. So after waiting for 35 minutes, I left without having ordered any food. I totally understand that the place was busy, however that is not an excuse for treating people badly. First of all, your website states that you do not take reservations. The young man who was doing the seating was exceptionally rude and totally uninterested in assisting me in ordering takeout. This was my first visit to Lake Geneva. Came on a weekday for lunch, it was already busy despite having just opened but there were still several open tables. They have some tables outside as well. No high chairs for kids (at least none was offered to me for my baby) but they do have a small kids menu. There menu has an extensive list of burgers all coming from local farms. I had the lamb burger and it was delicious! I also got the coleslaw, wasn't worth the $2 upgrade charge but it was still good. Every. Single. Expectation. Exceeded. My mom and I ended up here purely by accident, on a gloomy and foggy Sunday afternoon. We hadn't explored Lake Geneva much, so were up for just about anything. We hit town about 3pm, which is relevant because with it being Sunday, all the morning/diner spots were closed and almost none of the dinner spots were open. Due to a badly planned day, we were way too hungry to wait. Luckily, it was a Packers "bye" week (IDK, sports are weird), so Flat Iron was only about half full. We were invited to seat ourselves, and to be honest the overwhelming sports/motorcycly vibe had us a little worried -we don't eat gluten or much ground beef, would we find something here? (We were also hangry, in full transparency). We looked at the menu for a lonnnng time. Lots of burgers, tons of local sources, good looking appetizers too. We ordered, and this is where the amazing-ness began. They have the One Barrel Rose Cider, in cans, which the server immediately put into a chilled glass, so I was happy. They also have roughly 4 dozen beers, and my mom was able to sample at least 6 of them, no questions asked, before settling on the best one - the server actually seemed to enjoy the challenge of finding the right fit (I don't remember what it was, but she was happy). THEN - I hesitantly asked if there was any gluten free bread (it's not on the menu) - and there WERE GLUTEN FREE ROLLS! I ordered an italian beef sandwich. THEN - my mom asked if she could have a BLT (it's what she really wanted, but it wasn't on the menu) - AND THEY SAID YES! THEN - the food was AMAZING. Best Italian Beef I've had outside NYC. I'd eat there every day if I lived closer. We demolished that meal. THEN - the bathroom is amazing (weird thing to point out, but so many places are indifferent at best, but this bathroom was decorated, had free feminine products, and hot water in the sink). This place might be a hidden gem. I can't recommend enough. Go here. And for everyone wondering if there are GF options, ask them - they go above and beyond to meet customer needs.
