To start off I walk into an extremely crowded room to nudge my way through to get the the hostess. She rudely tells me it's going to be a 45 minute wait and rolls her eyes and looks away. My friends and I are famished and craving some pizza so we wait. We have to sit in the freezing cold for almost an hour longer than what we were told. We finally get to sit down to our cold seats with terrible lighting and the fire was way too Hot. We are greeted by a friendly face yet terrible attitude. He might as well have us order on iPads because his personality is bland. We order drinks and food at the same time as we are already impatient. We get our drinks quickly but the water doesn't even have a lemon or straw. We have to get up and ask for both just making our dining "experience" that much more cumbersome. We order the pizza with no issues but continue to wait another 45 MINUTES to get our two pies. At this point we were enraged. He then avoids us. Arriving there at 7 o'clock we receive the pizza at 9. 2 hours later. We eat the mediocre pizza and get out of there as soon as possible. The pizza is pretty adequate but is under cooked even after waiting that long. We pay our bill and leave a very small tip. Overall my experience was extremely awful considering the service and quality we recieved. Won't be coming back ANY time soon. Peace read more

Probably best flatbread i've ever had. We got the veggie special which was a butternut squash pizza and it was way better than I expected. The unique but incredibly tasty flavors worked super well together. The salads are also delicious, the dressing has the perfect amount of acidity, and the fresh ingredients make the salad. You know nothing sketchy is going on in the kitchen either, because they make the pizza right in front of you. You can see the pizzas being put right into the brick oven. I had always heard great things about this place, but hadn't ever tried it up until a friend of mine moved into the direct area. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the pizza hearth in the center keeps things nice and toasty; not to mention smelling delicious! You must start your meal with one of their house salads, as their house made dressing is simply one of the best I've ever tasted! I would honestly buy a gallon to take home with me if I could! You truly can't go wrong with any one of their flatbread's, but I usually opt for the "Amesbury Community" which is vegetarian friendly. If you have room... get dessert! Flatbread is an Amesbury gem! I promise you will not find better pizza in the Amesbury area and probably in America. I have never been disappointed with any of their specialty pizzas but the chicken bacon ranch is particularly amazing, featuring a delicious ranch sauce (which I think is homemade), and huge chunks of bacon. Also be sure to try the desserts! They use lots of local and organic ingredients. The atmosphere is festive and very pleasant. Prices are high for pizza but I feel that for the superior quality of flavor and ingredients they are well worth it. read more

Flatbread is great. This is easily the best Flatbread location. We like coming here with our 1 year old because he could scream for the duration of our meal and no one would even notice. The atmosphere is cool, but it is noisy. Although I've given Flatbread 4 stars, you can easily get a 5-star meal here. The organic house salad is fabulous (splurge on the goat cheese). The Mopsy pork pie is one of the best pizzas you'll eat. If you aren't ordering it, you need to reconsider some life choices that allowed you to bypass it on the menu. They refuse to cut the pizza like normal humans, but I happily forgive them of this shortcoming because of the sublime flavor combination. All the desserts are delicious and there is a nice beer selection. I can't really fairly assess the rest of the menu because I so rarely eat anything other than the meal described above. But, what I have had, is good, even great, but not life-altering and not really worth the steep pricing. Flatbread rules the pizza scene in this area. read more

I went here today for a fundraiser they donated an amount of the money to a charity. The downside for today we had to wait 15 minutes for a waiter to come. The pizza was amazing but I dodnt like tge chesse and herb pizza so dont order that. I think there brownies are amazing a must have even though there a little pricey each at $3.25. I think they did an amazing thing for this charity by donating. The name is the PMC challenge tgat helps fight cancer. P.S the brownies are GLUTEN FREE. read more

What more can you ask for? They have wonderful quiet outdoor seating, dog friendly, friendly staff and great food. The salad that they offer has homemade dressing that is great. Light, organic ingredients that made it even more enjoyable. The pizza we got was just the regular cheese, my husband got the Mexican type one. They were both excellent. Just enough garlic to really bring out all the other flavors there. The staff were great, the outside atmosphere was so peaceful and historic and my 3 yr old was able to run around in the front and we were still able to keep an eye out. Service was excellent, and I appreciate the vegan options; however, I like the Portsmouth NH location much more. The Amesbury Flatbread is in a pretty location, but there are way too many tables and chairs crammed into such a small space. It is hard to move in here. The prices are pretty steep for what you get. My salad was good but was not worth $6.50. My sister got a cheese pizza, and it was very greasy. She went through a few napkins sopping up the oil. read more

Excellent pizza and interesting topping combinations. Love the fresh organic and local ingredients. The wood fired pizza is thin and has a nice texture that is chewy with crunchy cornmeal on the bottom. They only offer salads, pizzas and a few desserts. No appetizers or sides. Had a mixed green salad with a vinaigrette and added local goat cheese that was seriously delicious. Tried the daily special which was free-range chicken alfredo pizza with broccoli, grape tomatoes and onions. It was great and very fresh tasting. The homemade maple sausage white pizza with caramelized onions, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes was to die for. We also ordered the mushroom and onion red pizza because we wanted to try their sauce. It was good, but plain in comparison to other exciting pizza combinations. The prices are a little steep for pizza, but the taste, quality and freshness of the ingredients are worth the price. read more

We used to go all the time, but as the prices climbed, our visits went from once a week to a couple times a year. Before, it seemed like the price was justified because they were using mostly organic ingredients, now the cost is becoming ridiculous and less and less is organic - don't get me wrong, local is great, but it doesn't justify these prices . The flatbreads are good, our favorites are the veggie specials with balsamic glaze and "puncuated equlibrium". The only one we avoid is the pepperoni which more often than not is so overly spicy it is inedible. They are generally in the $18 range. One nice touch, they make them in a 1/2 size as well (but it isn't mentioned on the dinner menu) for about $10 each. Dining room is large and cavernous, and can get very loud. There are always kids running back and forth to sit on the large stone in front of the wood fired oven and watch the baker - definately family oriented. Tons of fun and funky artwork on the walls. One last note, there is only one bathroom available which means there is almost always a line - don't wait until the last minute to head up there, especially with young kids read more

Went there Sat night and ordered the gluten free dough. We hadn't been in years because we have been avoiding gluten. We have always enjoyed eating there and love the atmosphere. I have to give it 3 stars because of value. They charge 4.50 up charge on the gluten free dough and a .90 up charge for tomato sauce (on a pizza!) so our bill came to $70 for 2 small pizzas, a small salad and 2 drinks. Plus the dough was really not that good (the toppings are very good though). I would steer clear of the gluten free dough if you can. read more

Hot pizza. Friendly young staff. They make the pizza in the brick oven in front of you at the back of the restaurant. Good selection of beers. The amesbury pizza is good. It's got carmelize onion and mushrooms and the sought is crispy on edges and soft in middle. I wish the middle of was a bit more crisp. Sauce could use bit more flavor. I will be back. Very unique atmosphere, all organic menu, great downtown mill yard location, simple menu with fantastic food. Good beer and wines available. Flatbread pizzas are completely different from (and I say better) than standard pizzas as they are uniquely prepared and are rapidly cooked in a very hot wood fired oven - a must try if you have never had one. However, they don't offer delivery for a very good reason. Flatbreads turn rubbery after they cool. I don't even recommend taking out as it may disappoint by the time you get it home. You have to eat at the restaurant for the whole experience. Be warned that this place is very busy on weekend nights so the wait can be long. read more

Being an Amesbury local I've had my great experiences at flatbread. Cool vibe, great food, conscientious menu. But on a beautiful day, after being seated outside on the patio for lunch we waited 25 minutes for service before I went back in to make sure we weren't forgotten about. The hostess didn't seem too concerned and said she'll send someone out. Another 15 minutes later, we bounced. Sorry flatbread but until you get some better service we'll be checking out the other great restaurants Amesbury has to offer. read more
