Yummy organic and locally sourced pizza place right on Portland's waterfront. The hostess said we could have a table by the windows but then we ended up getting seated as far from the windows as possible,right next to the kitchen, which was a little annoying. But our waiter was so friendly that it more or less made up for it. I had the homemade sausage pizza which was alright, it tasted fairly dry and plain so it would have been nice to have a glaze or some kind of sauce with it. Call it what you want, flatbread or pizza, it's incredibly delicious. The restaurant is large and gorgeous. It is very close to the water and located in a very happening area downtown. It had a really nice bar too. I came with a group of 12 and we sat at a table. Our server was super cool and attentive. The beer selections are great. Portland has so many good local breweries, and this spot serves a lot of them. The pizza options are delicious. Our table ordered nearly all of them. The cheese pizza was surprisingly my favorite. The dough they use is incredible and they cook the crust to perfection. All you need is a little cheese and sauce when the dough is this good. They cut the pizza into several rectangles which makes it easier to share in groups. The prices aren't bad either. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. read more

I'm in love with the flatbreads here! My boyfriend and I decided to come here on a rainy day and we were so glad we did. We were able to sit at the bar (no wait) while the wait for tables was close to an hour. We wanted to sip on some beer anyways, so we chose the bar. I ordered the Casco Bay Community Flatbread and he ordered Jimmy's Free-Range Chicken. The Caso Bay Flatbread was amazing. The caramelized onions really set the flatbread beyond any other flatbread I had. The flavors were intense and just so delicious. I found myself finishing the entire thing (except for a slice I gave to my boyfriend reluctantly). It was a small size but STILL. I have never loved flatbread as much as I did eating this! The Jimmy's Free-Range Chicken was okay. I definitely had higher hopes for this one than the Casco Bay flatbread. I wished it came with more beans and corn. It seemed so sparse on the pizza. The chicken was a bit dry. But the sour creme lime drizzle was pretty tasty! The bartender offered to supply us with salad dressing and hot sauce for dipping. I am in love with the hot sauce! It's pretty spicy so if you don't like kick, I don't recommend. It's not like a hard/fast spicy either. It slowly creeps up on you and lingers. I loved it! The salad dressing was tasty too. I loved dipping my crust into it. Near the end of our meal, the guy next to us ordered the Lamb special pizza. Jeez. Regrets. Great food and restaurant! The pizza and salad are delicious and there is a lot of seating.

This place is definitely between a 3 and a 4 for me. The only time in Portland our expectations weren't completely met by the restaurant we chose. The flat bread pizza was well made and the toppings offered were definitely fresh and creative; the only drawback was the too subtle flavor of both pizzas as well as the very floppy dough, which made taking bites a bit more cumbersome than I would have liked. All in all, do come here if you want something a bit more different than your standard pizza place; I'll be sticking to something a bit more conventional. read more

While visiting Portland we were craving pizza for dinner and found the flatbread company on yelp. We put our names in for a table and were given a 30 minute wait. We grabbed some drinks on the awesome pier bar and waited a bit, probably closer to 15 minutes for our table. We were seated on the back patio and it was kind of awkward as we were crowded on to half of a picnic table while a gentleman dined alone on the other half. We ordered a few pizzas to share: pepperoni and mushroom and then the special which was salmon and capers with red onions. The pepperoni and mushroom was spot on; great flavors, delicious crust, wonderful cheese. The salmon pizza was good but much too salty, I think they were a little heavy handed with the capers. Came here on a Sunday at 4pm and was able to snag a table on the back patio pretty quickly (30m maybe?). Bring a jacket, it's cold with those seawinds! Service was excellent and there was adequate social distancing. I think the food was quite solid although I've never understood why people lose their absolute minds over Flatbread. It's very good...but it's not mind-blowing, hence the 4 stars. We got 2 salads (the fingerling potato salad with dill creme freche and the seaweed organic salad) as well as 2 pizzas (sausage white and organic veggie). All really good stuff -- fresh ingredients, great crust, lots of toppings. Solid beer selection as well. Dessert was a warm banana bread with ice cream and whipped cream, which was demolished in minutes. read more

The pizza is REALLY good! We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Acadia back to NJ. We wanted something quick and easy that would also allow us to enjoy Portland for the hour we had allotted to spend there, and this place did not disappoint. We sat indoors and had a waterside view. We were able to share one large flatbread pizza with plenty of leftovers to nibble on in the car. The pizzas are expensive, but if you share one it makes it more reasonable. Yeah, this is really good pizza. It's the thin crust I love and the brick oven is manned by Sean, who is not only a good cook but very friendly to 4 year olds asking questions about how a pizza oven works. The twins split a small cheese pizza, hubs and I split a large. Luckily, they do half and half pizzas so we each got toppings of choice on our halves. Went non-alcoholic and got the Maine Root sodas in Ginger beer and Root beer. Will definitely return to this place next time we're in Portland. read more

Pizza doesn't get any better than this!. Thin crispy crust in a wood fired oven, mmmmm. Absolutely delicious: the 4 of us consumed 2, 16" pizzas very easily. We had the mushroom & pepperoni--I had never had pepperoni like this; and the second pizza did not have tomato sauce (the menu posted via the Yelp website is out of date, so I cannot check the name), but I can tell you it had roasted chicken, mango bbq sauce, goat cheese and more. My boyfriend and I stopped through Portland on our way Acadia national park, and found this place on yelp. Thank god we did, we had an amazing experience! I called ahead of time to see if they were pet friendly, and although it was too early in the season for their outside area to be set up, they reassured me that I could sit out there and just order inside. They even brought the food out when it was ready although they originally said there was no outside service. The server was really sweet, pet my dog, and even offered to bring us out Parmesan and hot sauce. You can tell it is very family friendly, with lots of kids playing outside. It's RIGHT on the water, and they also have a great selection of beers on tap. We ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom, as well as a small cheese and herb. I have never gone to the restaurant itself, but I have ordered take-out a couple of times and I LOVE this "flatbread" aka pizza. In my opinion, it is one of the most NY style pizza options that exist in the Portland area, and that is truly the best style that exists :) It is thin crust and has a good cheese to sauce ratio. I would say the prices are a bit up there for pizza, but it is definitely good quality. They also cut it in a super interesting way, instead of like a pie. It is sliced into rectangles which I like and makes them unique. I would recommend them to friends, family, and to you! read more

Large CHEESE & HERB PIZZA delivery was hard as a rock and nearly inedible. Had to microwave it to soften it up to chew. I think their pizza is best enjoyed fresh while dining at the restaurant.
