This little place is deceiving. When driving by, it is easy to think to yourself, "Gee, probably not much interesting in this little town," and while it might be reasonable to think such a thing, this little cafe is worth the stop. The beet salad is quite good. The pizza is solid. The desserts are tasty. There are always lots of specials to go along with the regular menu fare. The garlic cheese bread appetizer was delicious and the marinara sauce wonderful! The cheese-bread was an entire cheese pizza! This visit, I ordered the eggplant appetizer and was given a choice of sauces. The marinara sauce won. For lunch I ordered the lasagna with meatballs. My dining companion ordered colossal burger with onion rings. OMG. I want to move in here. The sauce is homemade, the lasagna homemade and the crust on the garlic bread made in house. The colossal burger was perfectly cooked according to request, but the meat was very well flavored with good, crispy bacon. My eggplant appetizer was crispy and perfectly fried served with that great sauce for dipping. The lasagna- so good. Perfectly balanced with noodles and contents. The meatball was delicious with a hint of sweetness to it. The dessert list was long and looked fantastic. All were made in house. The service was top notch and the chef delightful. Wow stopped to have a beer and ended up grabbing 3 Togo meals for tonight and lunch tomorrow. Really nice folks. As far as decor it's really nice. The wait staff are friendly too. The food was great. Yum! Amazing homemade food! The sweet potato fries with the dipping sauce were delicious as was the mahi mahi.

Flatwoods Cafe was an excellent find. Truly homemade food. Bacon wrapped dates for the appetizer was delicious. Wife had manicotti and best pasta we've had since Italy trip. I did the sirloin steak which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Homemade bread pudding for dessert was a great finish. It was absolutely worth the drive. We will be back soon. Who would have guessed that in the middle of nowhere there is a gem of a restaurant. While traveling the back roads of Florida I found this place here on yelp. I think it was listed as an Italian restaurant but that doesn't really do it justice. Pizza is probably the star of the show here and we had a white pizza with spinach and feta. As good as it gets! We had side salads and tried the fried green tomatoes too. All were delicious. The menu had dinners ranging from broiled salmon to liver and onions. Burgers, wings and sandwiches too. And don't let the run down exterior chase you away. When I got there the parking lot was full. Otherwise I might have not gone in. Glad I did! Great service. Clean restroom. Plenty of parking. My husband and I decided to try this place after seeing a review on it. It was a bit of a drive for us from Tallahasse but it was well worth it. The place was cute and inviting inside. We tried fried eggplant, liver and onions, a burger with fries and a piece of cheesecake. Everything was good. We talked with the owners for a bit also. The only downside is you could easily pass it and miss it as the bldg is turned sideways so the front is somewhat hidden. There is a sign with tree branches saying its name and there is a small sign on the ground saying pizza. Maybe some advertising or more signs before approaching would be helpful. We stopped here for lunch after nothing sounded good in Perry. We had the pick 5 veggie pizza and it was delicious. The waitresses were constantly making sure we had been waited on and our pizza came out pretty quick once we ordered. We would definitely eat here again. read more

We were on the interstate, passing through, and were lucky enough to stop here for dinner. It was about a ten minute detour, but well worth it. Delicious homemade food, excellent service and very clean restroom. The owners were very friendly and came by our table to check that everything was good and to wish us a Merry Christmas. Passing through the area, we were looking for a good place to eat. We didn't want to eat at any of the chain restaurants, but rather hoping to find one of those local hole in the wall type places offering great food. We found it at Flatwoods Cafe. The staff are all friendly and all the food homemade. The food was delicious and the portions were large. This is definitely a place worth visiting and eating at. This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is where the charm lies. Rhonda greeted us right away and we got to choose our seat. There's a menu board with daily specials or you can go off the menu for your selection. I got the black and blue salad and my husband picked the cheeseburger with French fries. Based on the ratings we decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed. Just like they said it was fantastic- we had the cheese sticks for an appetizer and the sauce was the delicious. Not too sweet, thick and seasoned perfectly. For the main course we tried the calzones- pulled pork and pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. They were huge, each was enough for two easily. Just means leftovers for both of us, yum. The service was friendly and the owner/operator was very attentive to us and the locals that were there. Nice to see. We pulled off I10 roughly half way through a 7 hour trip. Decided we wanted something different from regular fast food we could get at home and decided to check Google. They were only about 10 minutes down the road and the food looked good so we thought we'd at least check it out and have an adventure. It was FANTASTIC!! It was very busy when we first got there, but even though everyone was obviously multi tasking, the service was still better then many places I've been to recently, with very friendly people all helping each other to make sure we were taken care of and very willing to answer questions. My daughter ordered the fried pork chop meal with 2 sides and I went with the margarita pizza, since I've always wanted to try one with the added bonus it was being cooked in the wood burning oven. The pork chop was perfect. Crispy flavourful crust with juicy tender pork. My pizza was all I thought it would be and more from all the times I've seen it on cooking shows. Before we left we were already trying to plot when we might be able to go back. The interior was so clean and neat, you would have thought they had just opened for the day, instead of just starting to finish an overflowing parking lot of Sunday lunches. It has a very welcoming, warm feeling, that is only increase by the staffs attention and obvious pride in the place. I can guarantee that if we find ourself in the Tallahassee area, we will try to find an opening to return there. Our meals, with drinks, was less then $40 and we both left full, happy and with leftovers. read more

My husband is staying at a campground close by while he works and we were visiting him... we wanted pizza and this was the closest place. DON'T BLINK or you will pass right by it, and I promise you don't want to miss this place. It took a minute for anyone to realize we sat down but that was the only hiccup. Heading home to Tampa from Tallahassee and we wanted to get out of Tallahassee before eating. Went to Yelp to find a place to eat and there aren't many options once you leave Tallahassee. Luckily, we found Flatwoods café. They were very welcoming from the moment we opened the door. The food was excellent and the service was just as good. There were three of us and we ordered a pizza, spaghetti, and the chicken Parm. All were great. I always prefer to support small businesses when we are able and this place is definitely worth stopping. An extra bonus is that it was very easy access to I 10. read more
