Outstanding pizza, thin and chewy crust with the best toppings! Side salad was fresh and flavorful with cucumbers, shredded carrots and tomatoes. Homemade chili was a great appetizer, robust flavor. Hidden gem! We had to turn off the highway due to a bad storm coming through and found this place. Wow! Everyone was so nice and truly cared about providing good service. The owner/chef introduced himself and was very genuine. We had the pork chops, fried green tomatoes, meatball sub and were VERY impressedd. Totally worth thE trip. My husband and I stopped into Flatwoods Cafe while traveling through to Dunedin. Tired of fast food and wanting a true meal. This spot delivered. The first thing I saw was the beautiful wood fired oven. I LOVE pizza. In fact, I'm a pizza snob. Been to Naples Italy, the birthplace of the best pizza. The owner created a magnificent pizza for us, beautifully made. We were so impressed with this little gem that we might make a trek back just for the pizza. A special place, please stop in. No idea where the few bad reviews came from, especially the one about the "crazy old lady" and "tweakers" working the kitchen. I can honestly say as a local that frequents this place regularly they definitely had a change in kitchen staff and I'm assuming that review was around the time that things were being changed. The food is delicious, i know most of the kitchen staff personally and can say they're are definitely NO "meth tweakers" working there. The crazy old lady, whom is the owner's mother btw works her ass off and was probably just having a bad day, especially if she was having kitchen staff issues, and if the staff was being treated like garbage it's highly unlikely they'd even be working there. The food is delicious, fresh and homemade on premises, the pizza is the only good pizza around (I'm from NY so i know good pizza) and I've tried about 20 pizza places in the surrounding areas. The desserts are always fresh and also homemade. All i can say is don't let one or 2 crappy reviews sway u from trying them out, they truly are a family owned and worked business and the staff is treated like family. And also the service is excellent and the bathroom is spotless at all times. Try them put u wontbe disappointed, and be sure to try one of Angie's (the crazy old lady) desserts they are delicious!! Sorry but i had to write a rebuttle to that crappy review since I'm a local i have probably eaten here o er 100 times and never had those issues,everyone's entitled to a bad day and unfortunately this guy must have stopped in on a "bad day". Ended up here with a coworker on our way from Tallahassee to Perry. What a hidden gem!!!! They had a variety of food options. I enjoyed my buffalo chicken sandwich. My coworker had the pork chop dinner. The portions sizes were great and at a good price. The waitress was lovely and attentive to our table. From the outside I would have never expected for the food and serves to be good. Best way to describe this place is "Don't judge the book by the cover". I will be back. read more

On the main street through Lamont, Don't let the exterior throw you off. The fried eggplant was delicious. We had the crawfish ettoufee and chicken spinach crepes off the blackboard menu. The white bean chicken chili was to die for. Something for everyone, pizza, burgers, wings, to crepes and fried pork chops with so much in between. The desserts are home made. Definitely worth the 6 mile detour off of I-10. Don't pass it by!! read more

Stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The Italian roast beef sandwich was delicious . My husband was pleased with his hamburger and wings. The calzone on the adjacent table was the size of a throw rug, and my fellow diner deemed it excellent. Not surprising, as a glance into the kitchen revealed a wood-fired pizza oven. Good food and nice people at this little junction in the Florida flatwoods. We will be back and would recommend to those weary travelers who are also weary of chain restaurants and fast food. read more

I'm sure you have heard don't judge a book by its cover. That couldn't be more true with this place . When I first walked in it was nice and inviting a very good feel , after getting our drinks that's when the cover started to melt away like a bad trip and the gates of hell opened up it started with this crazy old lady treating the wait staff like absolute garbage and got no better from there some quit one was fired for no reason I could tell other then this lady was a nut job. Now let's move on to the head cook or who I assume was the head cook probably the old ladies younger lover he was arguing with her and his kitchen staff which seemed to be tweakers if your not sure what that is it's people that use meth all sorts or weird movements arms just flailing about I thought it had to be a dream right but no way this was a nightmare After all said and done there was no staff left in this place just the crazy lady and her boy toy yelling at each other so we just got up and walked out nobody was even worried about us not paying . I will never return and I'm sorry for the ones who do they must be the worst if a nice little town called Lamont these people need some help I mean mentally but prob staff as well so if you decide to visit bring your own popcorn and enjoy the show italian on ice , crystal meth that is . Hot fresh honest food. We just bought some land here in Lamont and found everything closed on Sundays. Flatwoods was open for lunch so we gave it a try. Great patty melt and Rubin. You would drive right by if you you didn't know how good it is. read more

The pictures looked great, so we took a chance while driving through town. We were not disappointed. The pizzas were delicious - crisp and piping hot! The Cuban was good, collards just right and fries crispy and fresh from the fryer. Our server and the chef worked together to accommodate our daughters food allergies, and she enjoyed her hamburger and green beans thoroughly. If I could 0 stars I would. We waited for over an hour and a half for food for a party of 5. The food came and 3 of the spaghetti and meatballs hardly had sauce and we had to ask for me and they admitted to not having enough made. We also ordered a chicken Alfredo and it came out cold. The waitress said they probably didn't heat it up in the microwave all the way. The burger was burnt and you could tell it was a frozen patty. Will not come back. Completely disappointed. read more
