I was given a gift certificate for this salon and came in without much of an idea of the cut I wanted... Alex was my stylist and with the very little guidance I gave him he was able to give me the perfect hair cut. I am super low maintenance when it comes to my hair, I'm the wash and wear type, and all I really wanted was a cut that would look cute without being styled. I've gotten 2 haircuts from Danielle and she killed it both times! I was so very nervous about chopping my hair super short but she gave me examples of what it could look like and made sure I felt comfortable. I hate getting my hair cut. I was set up with Chantel to trim the dead ends off my long hair and touch up my layers. I was looking for a modern and clean salon that wasn't too expensive ($60+tip), and I liked the vibe and open concept of Flaunt. What I liked more was the complimentary drink upon arrival. I went with a mimosa and I am sure it helped me be more relaxed than I usually am during a haircut. The salon was clean, Chantel was friendly, and I felt at ease. Her consultation before she started was thorough so I was comfortable that she knew exactly what I wanted. Chantel is FANTASTIC! I recently moved out of the area and will miss getting my color and cuts done by her! She's extremely knowledgeable and knew how to give me the result I wanted without damaging my hair. Before Chantel I was a double processed blonde with extreme breakage and damaged hair. Chantel nursed my hair back to health while keeping me a bright blonde! She is also a pink specialist, whenever I go pink I get nervous it will end up a different color to what I was expecting but she knocked it out of the park. I recently moved to Long Beach and I'm so happy I found this salon--it's perfection. Love the funky, friendly vibe. My hair stylist is Alondra Medina, who is amazing. She really listens to what you're needing so you're happy with the results. I have weirdly wavy hair plus complicated bangs and she nails it! In addition to giving a great haircut, she did a mask treatment that worked wonders on my frizz. Best of all, she encouraged me to try a new warm auburn color instead of my usual cool black, and I love it! So flattering and a much-needed change. read more

I went to a few places that were "ok" but I was hoping to find my fantastic hair stylist that I could trust with anything. I love to make changes in my hair and play with color. When I first moved to Long Beach I had no idea where to go but passed by this cute salon and decided to check it out. Thankfully Danielle was the one who cut my hair because she was exactly the person who knew what I was looking for style-wise. My first cut with her, she worked with my natural hair texture to create beautiful natural waves with minimal product. I just got married and needed a cut again and went back to her again to get some shorter layers and take out some of the bulk and she nailed it again. I showed her a bunch of different looks that were kind of all different lol but she helped me nail the perfect cut for my wedding hairstyle. I called and Booked an appointment with Ross asked for all over color . My hair is above shoulder length and had grays that were grown at the root I was just going in for dark brown . My hair had blonde underneath which from the previous dark brown color was faded . I asked for dark brown again. Unfortunately the "all over hair color " in my opinion was more of a root touch up. He didn't not provide me with the "all over color" he just did my roots and did not place color on my ends which were faded already . I was very upset because the All over color was not all over and my hair is short ! How lazy do you have to be to not give the customer what they asked and tell me that it's not a root touch up . I'm new to the area and wanted to find a space that was queer friendly. This was one of the top rated salons in the area, so I made an appointment. I showed up promptly for my appointment and checked in with the friendly receptionist (who is in my opinion the saving grace of this place ) at the counter who automatically offered me a drink and a seat while I waited for my stylish, Alondra, to finish up with their client. As I waited for my stylist in the lobby, not once did she approach me to let me know she would be taking a little longer than our appointed time. If it wasn't for the receptionist keeping me updated, I wouldn't have known what was going on. After half an hour of waiting I decided to leave and as I was grabbing my things to head out the door, Alondra showed up and told me she was ready for me. It was the lack of professionalism and customer service that made me want to make this review. It was the undesirable haircut I received that made me never want to go back. Unfortunately, I cannot post a picture of the final haircut without exposing my face and I do not plan to show my face again in that salon. read more

Finding the right hair stylist can feel impossible, which is why I'm thrilled that I found Blaine at Flaunt! Getting my hair cut used to be anxiety inducing, but my experience here couldn't be farther from that. I always feel like a new woman leaving the salon, the vibe at Flaunt is cute and relaxing, and I'm always thrilled with the results. I have never been to a professional salon before and this was my first time. I used to just box dye my hair but I wanted to dye my hair more professionally and healthier. Skylar at Flaunt Salon is the most kind and best hair stylist I have ever met! She is so understanding on your dream hair and breaks down the plan for you. Skylar is very knowledgeable and will explain if you have any questions! She is also very gentle and always asks permission before doing anything. Myla -I think that's how you spell her name cut my hair. As she was doing it I wasn't sure what the outcome would be but once she was done and she blow dried it to give it a bit of a style. It looks so beautiful. She cut about 3 inches to get most of my dead ends out. If I'm ever in the area & I need a haircut. I would absolutely come back again.

This review is for Rizza, who did Grey Hair blending for me…read more I'm coming to terms with my gray/silver hairs and asked Rizza if she could do Grey blending for me. This can be hard to do, especially since I have ethnic hair and about a decade of vivids, henna color, and other experiments in my hair. I came in with blue and purple fun hair. This is my hair after two sessions and she's done a great job delivering on Grey blending. She found an ashy beige that would work with blending in with my silvers. She really understands color. Rizza also has very chill energy and listens to your requests. I also needed to handle personal medical stuff during my appointment and she was very helpful about it.

The owner (originally from Chicago) explained the buildout and history of his shop, as he delicately cut a guys cut. My stylist was a sweetheart and it almost felt like a bargain, as she did such a nice job for a reasonable price. She even showed me a coffee table book, showcasing her & her family during the aftermath of a major Southern California earthquake (Northridge Quake, 1994). All very interesting and informative, indeed! Parking is very easy and you can grab a snack around the corner before your appointment. What's not to love? Can't recommend this place enough!

I had a flight the next day like at 6am 2. when I return I go back to school Mon- Thurs literally 10am -3:30pm and then 6:30pm-9 3. I work 14 hour shifts Fri- Sunday . Not once did she offer if I'd like another stylist , not once did she offer a real accommodation . Let's be real and hold accountability , because this second cancel the day of appointments, messaging me hours before on IG asking to move my appointment earlier to then canceling is WILD . Original : I know the stylists have their own way of booking or dealing with affairs apart of the salon but I think it's wild they have a rebooking fee of over $30 if client has to reschedule last minute their appointments BUT when I get my appointment canceled TWICE by the stylist ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT , due to "family emergencies" that apparently always happen. I think it's wild that a stylist can waste a clients time and day considering the first time it was canceled I had planned to get my hair cut before my birthday trip and today it got canceled I had just told my boss no to coming in for a shift because of my scheduled appointment ... what do we clients get in return besides wasted time and lost money ? At least she returned my $20 deposit that has been kept since August but damn , homegirl really needs to take care of home before taking appointments , we have a life out here too.
