It came with homemade togarashi potato chips, which is not a combination I asked for but is one I will now demand for the rest of my life. My dining companion got the breakfast burger, which somehow contains an egg AND hash browns INSIDE the burger, like the chef looked at breakfast and lunch and said "why not both, simultaneously, in your hand." Perfection. Structurally impressive. Emotionally overwhelming. The turkey clubhouse club also showed up and showed out -- and bonus, some proceeds go to the local Boys & Girls Club, so you can feel slightly virtuous while inhaling bacon. Verdict: We're going back. We have breakfast entrees left to conquer, and frankly, I think Acorn Cafe has earned the right to ruin more of my meals.

I had my eye on the Lemon Ricotta Hotcake topped with ice cream, yes, ice cream. Instead of butter, you get to enjoy it with ice cream slowly melting over your hotcake, making each bite heavenly. I did move the scoop to the side so it wouldn't melt as fast and I can taste the velvety ice cream on its own. Since it was the holidays, I could not resist getting a caramel apple cider which was warming without being overly sweet. With outdoor seating outside, would love to come back during the summer for leisurely brunch.

I'm not a germaphobe but once got a nasty intestinal bug from a restaurant where the food handlers didn't wear gloves, and I will never do it again. There's a reason gloves, or some other type of barrier between hand and food, are required. If you spend less than $80, keep an eye on the staff making your food or only get drinks, and you sit outside, this is a pretty stop through town.
