I guess for taste it would be a higher rank, but who has 45+ minutes to wait around for a snowcone? Pass.

Wow...2 nights in a row we tried/visited the Dairy Queen out in Vail. Last night we drove up around…read more8:45p, supposedly the store is open till 9p. We waited at the speaker for about 5mins and no one responded. Went around the drive thru and there was a car at the window with the person in the car chatting with the employee, must have been a friend and reason for them to be ignoring the speaker. Got to the window at 8:59 and the employee told us that they were closed! Tonight we decided to venture out again and try one more time. This time we drove up at 8:20p, lobby lights were already off! I thought they closed at 9p . We asked the employee at the window what time their lobby closes and he stated 9p, at this point the time was 8:35p. Made it to the speaker and placed our order. Picked up our treats and as we drove away we noticed that the order was incorrect, drive thru here we come again. We waited for four other cars that were now in line in front of us. We get to the speaker and informed them of their mistake and we mentioned that we would need the blizzards remade since they were going to be melting since now we had to wait for four cars ahead of us to get their orders. Once we got to the window the kid (after we explained again why we were coming back through) asked if we got eaten any of the blizzards. We said no we had not. He grabs the bag with the two blizzards and the dilly bar. I'm pretty sure they just put the correct dilly bar in the bag and handed us back the same blizzards as they were melted by the time we got home. They think that because it's an isolated area and that people will come no matter what, they can treat their customers like s**t. Well, you can forget about me ever being a customer at this location again. I'll take a long drive into town if I'm really craving DQ.

The employees shouldn't need to make a fuss when requesting for a couple of sauces. The employees also became flustered and didn't know what to do when asking for something like utensils. Terrible customer service.

I guess we were lucky to find Luckie's as a Thai-Asian cuisine which does both. They're located in the Fry's shopping center. Inside you seat yourself at any of the open tables. I would guess they can seat about 40-60 for capacity. There are menus you can take from the counter back to your table. There are also some pictures of the dishes above the main counter to see what you might be ordering. The staff was very friendly and helpful when placing the order. We started with eggrolls which were more like Chinese Spring Rolls. Their spring rolls are much different and Thai style using the clear wrap and not fried. My brother had the chicken curry while I had the seafood curry and mom had the shrimp with lobster sauce. The rice arrives as a large scoop in a separate bowl while the main dish is in another bowl. They're easily mixed on the plate. The seafood curry was very tasty and not too spicy. It came with shrimp, salmon and mussels along with peppers and onions. The shrimp with lobster sauce was too much for mom so we took it home. The staff offered a box of fried rice to take home as well at no extra cost. Most dishes cost around $12-$18. I was glad we made the right choice for lunch.

It was pretty busy when we arrived and they only had one waitress and the bartender. The bartender, Felicia, jumped in to help the other waitress. Both of them were fantastic and handled the crowd expertly. We had the appetizer sampler, which was delicious. However, they were out of pot stickers so we got extra jalapeño poppers. The Tuna Tataki was very tasty and quite a lot for one order. The chicken solo was very tasty also. We had to order the smoked salmon sashimi due to being out of the plain salmon, but it was still delish. The Japanese bagel roll aka Philly roll tasted much better than last time. It tasted freshly made as opposed to the last visit. We really enjoyed our cocktails which were refreshing and yummy. This was a much more enjoyable meal and we were impressed with the service and the food. Great job to all involved, especially our server, Felicia, and we will definitely be back again. I gave it a four only due to being out of two items, but otherwise outstanding.

Once inside, the music was so loud it made it hard to have a normal conversation with my wife about our day. Not a great start for a weeknight dinner. Service was uneven. My wife's food came out in a reasonable time, but my order (spicy tuna roll and sashimi salad) was significantly delayed. Long enough that her meal was getting cold while we waited. There was no communication, no apology, and staff avoided eye contact during the delay. The restaurant didn't appear understaffed, so the holdup was unclear. Food quality was mixed. The sashimi salad was solid and fresh. However, the spicy tuna roll had a noticeable canned-fish smell, which wasn't what I'd expect from a quality sushi roll. My wife's fried rice had an overpowering burnt soy sauce flavor. Between the loud atmosphere, lack of communication from staff, and inconsistent food quality, this wasn't a great experience. We likely won't return, especially with more authentic sushi options that we've had consistently better experiences with. Update: A generic copy/paste apology. No explanation for why my meal was delayed while my wife's got cold. No acknowledgment of staff avoiding communication. No response to the food quality concerns (spicy tuna smelled canned, fried rice tasted burnt). Asking me to email privately doesn't address the public service and quality issues described. Accountability would mean explaining what happened and how it's being corrected; not redirecting the conversation offline.
