Flea Street offers the ambiance of a neighborhood restaurant with the quality of Michelin fine-dining. Each dish presents unique flavors and artistic presentation, creating a harmonious experience that's like a symphony in the mouth. From the attentive staff to their meticulous attention to detail, I believe they will earn a star very soon!

I tried this place for the first time and it was okay. The parking is difficult especially if the lot in the back is full/almost full. The ambiance inside is really nice though and the service is great as well. The menu isn't too big and there's not many vegetarian options. We got complimentary buttermilk bread which came with butter and tomatoes which was nice. For the appetizer we got the toast which was the only vegetarian option. The spread on it wasn't very good and I didn't love the taste. For my entree I got the carbonara and asked for it with no meat. It was very expensive for the portion size. The flavor was okay and noodles weren't cooked that well. The drink I got was really good- the spicy watermelon margarita. For dessert we got the dark chocolate cake/pie and cherry ice cream. The taste was off for both items so I probably wouldn't get again. All the food and drink was plated nicely but overall not worth the price.

This place is def on the top of our list of restaurants. Pricey, but the quality of food is great. We had a reservation at 5:45pm on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy when we arrived; however, that quickly changed as the night progressed. We appreciated the lady at the front on her attempt to get us an outdoor table, but after a "no" then "yes" then "no" again, we ended up w/ just keeping our table inside. The distance of each table was perfect, as that allows privacy for each table. Based on our experience, some places, esp for tables of two's are arranged so closely together that at some point, it just becomes awkward to hear other ppl's conversation and vice versa. FYI, we sat just right behind the main entrance door, next to the glass window and close to the kitchen (which wasn't loud at all). Our waiter was extremely friendly, polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. We had ordered a couple of appetizers and entrees and shared a dessert, all of which were perfectly seasoned (less if anything) and Michelin plated. For appetizers, we ordered: McFarland Smoked Trout (a bit basic) and Grass Fed Steak Tartar. For entrees, we ordered: House Made Ricotta Chive Gnocchi (delicious w/o it being overpowering. One of the best dishes I've had), and Pasture Raised Bone-In Pork Chop (similar to something at Selby's and this was by far way better, hands down). For dessert, we ordered: Just Peachy. I don't even know what to say about this. It tastes just as good as it looks. Get it if you can. We also had an opportunity to chat w/ the owner and that was a nice addition to our dinner. Honestly, it kinda reminds me of chef Ramsey a little bit. It shows a lot about their character and their love/passion for the food they create and the restaurant they share w/ people. I appreciated that. Their vegetables are fresh and home grown and you can definitely taste that. Their menu changes so if you've never been here, I recommend it.

    Dungeness Crab Gnocchi

Recently, I went to Flea Street. I got the Dungeness Crab Gnocchi, Fresh Pasta Carbonara, Which Came First: The Chicken or the Egg, Slow Braised Grass-Fed Short Rib, and Lavender Lemonade. The crab in the crab gnocchi had a delicate texture and the dish came with enough crab and sauce for each bite of gnocchi. The carbonara was delicious because the sauce was creamy and it was served with pork belly that they cured in-house. Next was the lavender lemonade. The lavender is a bit strong, but does not overpower the lemonade. By the way, they served biscuits while we waited for our mains and they were good, but the butter was amazing. It had a swirly appearance that looked so beautiful that you wouldn't want to break it. The short rib is good: the meat was tender and the potatoes were well cooked, crispy on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. The Which Came First was also good: the egg was cooked nicely and so was the chicken. The whole dish was well balanced.

Had a really nice birthday celebration for hubby here. The service was great - friendly and not stuffy. Some of the standouts were the beet stacks, the lamb chop, the pork, and the chips that came with the smoked trout! The cucumber cooler was also so good and refreshing. It had just the right amount of alcohol where I couldn't taste it but I could feel it!

TLDR extremely expensive for the food so don't go unless someone else is paying. I came here to meet a new friend and I believe based on location and the price the clienteles are mostly VCs. The restaurant is very unassuming in a tiny strip mall that's almost like a small office building that some boutique VC firms would choose. I didn't even find the restaurant name so I had to rely on address to make sure I'm at the right place. The interior is much more welcoming and service is good. Btw they already baked in the service charge/tip at 20% in the check so don't add more at the tip line at the check (I think that's super annoying they don't make it more clear on the check). The food is ridiculously expensive. I don't know why they name the restaurant flea street when they charge so much. A tomato soup is over $25 and a vegetarian option entree is over $40. It's not the price per se but what you get for the price. The other options are even more expensive at some over $70 (if it were like aged steak or something then the price might be justified but nope). Anyways I think the food is way overpriced and I didn't even care to take pictures of the entree and that's probably telling. Btw nope the vegetarian food is very under welcoming and I only ordered it because nothing else looked appetizing and the guy paying is vegetarian. So go there if someone else or company is paying or if you want to impress the wrong kind of partners. And do not pay any more tip because it's included unless you really want to.

It's been about 25+ years since I last visited Flea Street and happy to make a return visit. Food is delicious and always changing based on the season and highlighting local products. When you dine at Flea Street you taste the freshness of each ingredient and how well they complement each component. :: Brussel sprouts - crispy, with pomegranate, butternut squash and creaminess from the pecorino - probably one of the best I've had at a restaurant. :: Risotto - creamy rich, flavorful with parsnip and Parmesan ($39) - delicious and decadent...and a bit extravagant with no protein :: Miso Black Cod - perfectly cooked, flaky, with a light miso broth. :: Date Cake - when received it was a bit laughable as it was literally a small, ramekin-sized cake cut in half and presented on the plate. It was delicious and not overly sweet but for $18 was expecting a bit more. Food, service and ambiance wonderful but definitely an indulgence and priced for the affluent area of tech companies and for me...well, when I redeem my Costco Rewards Certificate! Price/person with the above and drinks, above, healthy living tax and added 20% (you can add more if you'd like) is about $120/person. Lot parking available and gets busy by 630pm

    Amazing non alcoholic drink menu.

Flea Street is such a warm and inviting restaurant with amazing food that I would describe as Farm to Table Californian. They have ample vegetarian options also. Bryan said they are updating their dessert menu. They change up their menu to include seasonal item as that are locally sourced. This is a great date place, especially when on a date with my friends and family. Big bonus points for a sophisticated and inclusive non alcoholic drink menu. As a non drinker I appreciate this so much. The service is impeccable and reminds me of Las Vegas in that one never needs to ask for a drink to be filled, or a plate to be cleared. I'll be back, perhaps one day with a romantic special someone.

I had the pleasure of making a reservation for me and the gf on Valentine's Day, they had a fixed menu which takes out the endless looking at menu and helps, my undeceive gf (don't tell her I said that) we felt welcomed by staff and other customers the food was consistently delicious and elegant! It didn't disappoint can't forget the drinks I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner and I can see why this place is so special wonderful conversation and even got a history lesson which was more then welcomed on my part, I thank her enough it was a memorable experience and I can't wait to come back!

Amazing service from Ciara and Sergio. The food was absolutely delicious. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was incredibly kind and helpful. Our drinks came out quickly and were smooth. The biscuits and bread that is brought to the table with butter squiggles and fig jam were a wonderful way to start the night. The toast of the day was surprising delightful. Surprising because I don't believe we have ever had frozen shaved tomato but it worked so well with the oil oiled bread and burrata. We could have eaten 10 of these. I had the vegetarian tasting plate and my husband had the short ribs. Mine was so much food I couldn't even finish but vegetables never tasted so good. I tried some of the short rib and it was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked, The pumpkin spice martini was delightful and the little raspberry muffins given with the check were the perfect finish to the night. Such a wonderful experience that we will definitely be back for again soon.

My husband took me here for dinner on a date night since it is Michelin plated. The restaurant seems like it's in a old house. At least where we sat, it's a quieter restaurant since the dining table spread out in the different rooms of the house. Probably not a great spot for something like a first date where you might want more commotion around you. The crowd is more mature... I was in bit of a sticker shock by the wine by the glass menu, since everything was over 20, but the wine I got (picked the cheapest!), was really a beautiful red that I really enjoyed. Service was absolutely wonderful- definitely on par with other high end restaurants in the area. It was nice that the owner also stopped by to say hi. They start you off with complimentary biscuits and bread that come with ribboned sheets of butter. We had the grilled Jimmy Nardello. I would've thought it was named after someone at the restaurant, but it's a type of red pepper. I'm not a huge red pepper fan, but these were really cooked and flavored to perfection with pine nuts, feta and garlic and went really great on bread. Pacific coast catch was a nice lightly battered fish, presented on a tomato based sauce and whipped potato. We ended the meal with the Peach Cobbler, which was made to order. I'm not a huge fruit- based dessert fan, but the freshly based crust was amazing with the ice cream. Overall, excellent service, delicious food. They support local farmers and told us where some of our vegetables were from nearby, Excellent for a quiet date night. Since their menu uses seasonal ingredients, we'll be back for sure!

Cool patio, strange service to say the least. Every order from drinks to food was fumbled. I am not sure if I will go back.

An upscale restaurant located near Stanford University. When you walk in, it feels like you're inside a family home with cool artwork on the walls. Very romantic and intimate ambiance! We started the night with delicious bread and biscuits served with potatoes and butter. The biscuits were soft and tasty, but the bread was ordinary. The braised short ribs were well-seasoned! Soft and flavorful! It was served with ricotta chive dumpling. I think it could be paired with more sides. We ended the night with soft pumpkin pastries! Staff was knowledgeable of the menu. It is a wonderful restaurant if you're looking for a cozy and intimate dinner, but food is overpriced.

We were seated in the bar area at some tables. The bar is impressive. It's filled to the ceiling with different bottles. We felt like we had to try a cocktail to start. Our bartender was great and even went off menu for some of our drinks. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Once we were seated we got some appetizers to get us started. We ordered chickpea panisse, French onion soup, goat cheese mousse, and the apple salad. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the chickpea panisse. It looked like fried tofu, but it was so delicately soft in the center. The aioli that came with it was great too. My second favorite was the goat cheese mousse. It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the vibe was fun.

Parker house rolls were fresh and tasty, although not spectacular. The wildflower butter tasted about the same as regular butter. 2. French onion soup was very pleasant, highly recommended. It had a strong taste of (1) something resembling wine must and (2) a meat stock, although I wasn't entirely sure. 3. Roasted chicken was good, maybe not as good as at Sekoya in terms of juiciness, but not dry either, especially with the jug of juice. The chicory salad served alongside it was delightful, however, and one of my favourite parts of the meal. 4. The duck was somewhat small and drier than the usual Chinese style. I did like the demi glace sauce and the rutabaga garnish. 5. The 12oz dry aged rib eye was tasty, with a beautiful crust, but the interior again was a little drier than I would hope for medium rare. Again, the bordelaise sauce was very good. We all loved the aioli that was served alongside the French fries. 6. The side of cooked beans was the main disappointment. The beans themselves didn't taste of much, and the dish as a whole was only rescued by the generous serving of marcona almonds. 7. The grits were decently good. Overall, the meal was an enjoyable dining experience and I would recommend Zola, especially as this style of cooking is becoming less common and squeezed out by restaurants serving more aggressively-flavoured dishes.

The Ahi was a fair portion for what I expected from the prix fixe menu. The flavor was nicely balanced, and the fish was beautifully seared while remaining tender inside. Overall, a well-executed dish. The Hamachi, unfortunately, wasn't something I'd order again. The fish flavor was unusually pronounced in a way that wasn't particularly pleasant. It came across as slightly off and overshadowed the rest of the dish. The second course was also mixed. The Bavette steak is a cut fairly close to skirt steak, and it's one where preparation, cooking, and especially slicing can make or break the experience. Unfortunately, this one arrived closer to medium-rare despite my requesting medium. More importantly, it was sliced with the grain. The steak had good beefy flavor, but being undercooked for my preference and sliced with the grain made it exceptionally chewy. I'm also not a fan of having steak pre-sliced before it reaches the table. I prefer to let a steak rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting so the juices can redistribute. In a commercial kitchen, I don't see this happening, also if the steak like this is going to be sliced before serving, I'd prefer it be sliced against the grain. The dry-aged New York strip was much better. It arrived sliced into strips and was cooked exactly to the requested medium. The aging process brought out a pronounced, beefy flavor, and the portion was a good size. There was some gristle, as you'd expect with a New York strip, but here I would have preferred some of the tougher exterior gristle to have been trimmed a bit more aggressively before cooking. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. The pastry/dessert chef is working at a level above the other courses. I rarely order chocolate desserts because chocolate has become just so vanilla as a safe, uninspired and predictable choice. That was absolutely not the case here. The dark chocolate tart was outstanding. It was intensely rich and unapologetically dark, with a depth of chocolate flavor that made it much more interesting than the typical chocolate dessert. The portion was surprisingly generous considering how powerful the dish was. The butterscotch pudding with fresh fruit was equally impressive, but in a completely different direction. My first thought was, fruit and butterscotch? Those aren't two flavors that play well together. But the pairing seemed audacious enough that there had to be a reason for it, and there was. The fruit was clearly selected with care, and the quality showed. The butterscotch pudding was beautifully made. It was firm enough to hold its shape, but exceptionally smooth, with a gentle, well-controlled sweetness. Each component tasted great on its own, but combining them was where the dish really came alive. The fruit's brightness and acidity cut through the richness of the butterscotch, creating a surprisingly balanced combination. That dessert alone is worth coming back for. Service was outstanding. We were never rushed, and the pacing felt very natural. Courses came out when we were ready rather than being pushed along. The staff was friendly, attentive, and worked together seamlessly. Environmentally, the wood themed interior (think sequoia) is attractive, the beverage menu is a wood binder the the plates have a tree slice, wood-cookie, cross-cut look. Although it can get cold. There's a ceiling register that sends air directly down the wall and onto the tops of your head, neck, and shoulders. If you're sensitive to cold air, your table location may make a difference. And while they do change silverware between courses, they also place silverware directly on the table. All-in-all a good dining experience with the edges to clean-up.

Every recommendation he gave us was a hit, so at this point I would probably let Sam plan my entire brunch menu. We had such a fun family brunch and genuinely left talking about how much we enjoyed everything. Great food, great cocktails, great service, and a staff member who clearly knows how to make people have a good time. The ambiance was also such a vibe. The interior is really cute and we got seated in a booth, which made it feel extra cozy and perfect for hanging out and enjoying brunch. I could totally see this being a great spot for family brunch, drinks with friends, or even a cute date. It has that kind of atmosphere where you can dress it up a little or keep it casual and still feel right at home. 10/10 would brunch here again.

Stopped by around lunch time on a Saturday and was able to be seated without reservations easily…read more We were hoping to try the miso pasta but on weekends only the brunch menu is available until their dinner service at 4pm. We tried the loco moco and chicken and waffles instead. Both were good and portions are average sized. Usually we can't finish brunch between the 2 of us but this was easily consumed with no leftovers. The chicken and waffles came with matcha butter which was a nice touch. Overall a safe choice for brunch and I'm interested in coming back to try some of their lunch/dinner options!
