I have had great experiences with Fleet Feet. Starting with the first time I went to their store in San Francisco, I've always been happy with their expertise and service. My pair of Asics I bought at Fleet Feet in San Francisco were inadvertently thrown away while at my gym and being an overpronator I was somewhat worried about getting a new pair of shoes that would work. These guys hooked me up with a brand new pair of shoes after a gait and foot strike analysis and the shoes worked PERFECTLY. As a BONUS - the shoes I got started delaminating in the sole within the first 3 months and they replaced them free of charge, no questions asked. Wow. I am clearly late to the game about how great this place is. My bike repair person at Mike's Bikes, in Petaluma (also a great place), recommended FleetFeet and I headed right up. I was there a mere half hour after opening but all sales people were already working with customers. I was able to observe how carefully each sales person listened to and worked with each customer. Customers ranged from avid runners to older people with sore feet and the knowledge of the salespeople was astounding. I am trilled to be introduced to a new brand, Hoka, that addresses my particular issues perfectly. I'm in love!!! read more

I took my son here based upon the reviews and the services they offered. I have a fast growing13 year old who was collapsing at his ankle causing his arches to flatten out and cause long term problems. It took two hours for the lovely gentlemen to help us and to convince my son that the shoes that corrected his gate the most were the ones to go with. Here's what I so appreciated about this place. First - they were able to capture a 3-D model of my son's foot. I would have never guessed he was a narrow foot as an example. They then showed us where the issues were and how we were going to correct them. Then they painfully worked with my son to get the right shoe that did the right correction. I could SEE the difference in my son's gate. The whole experience was incredibly informative, collaborative and beyond full service. I am not sure I will go anywhere else. Once they start their process with you they are with you until you find the right shoe with the right inserts... I am just so thankful a place like this exists without having to go to a podiatrist. read more

What a great place! Went in to look or shoes I could wear at work. I am on my feet for 8+ hours, five days a week and my old work shoes were causing major feet and back pain. The employees at this store were so helpful and knowledgable. They sized my foot and found the perfect fitting shoe for me. I've worn the shoes for three days now and let me tell you, the price I payed for these shoes was well worth every cent! Contrary to the one star rating below, I would just like to say that I am a plus size woman in the beginning of my fitness journey and Rhonda was an absolute delight. She educated me on foot placement, measured my feet in a variety of ways, watched me walk with and without shoes on, and recommended a shoe and size that I never would have bought for myself- and they're sooo comfy- like walking on pillows. I'm actually excited to get my walk/jog on. Also, I bought plus size clothing AND a sports bra! This store is very accommodating. Plus I was there on a Wednesday and the weekly Wednesday fun run was just coming back and the sense of community was undeniable. It was really special. I spent about $220 on shoes, bra, shirt, and socks. It's in the ballpark of where I thought I would be. If you are in need of new sneakers, and willing to invest in a pair - go here, seriously. There is no where else in Santa Rosa I would go to get running shoes. What sets Fleet Feet apart is their customer service and ability to fit you to the right shoe. The knowledge of the employees here is absolutely unparalleled when it comes to how a shoe should fit, what kind of shoe you need given the gait of your run, what to expect with new shoes, when to get a new pair.....the list goes on. They have a complete satisfaction guarantee which is what you need with running shoes. I just bought my third pair of shoes from this store. After a 3 mile run I ended up with a huge blister. So....I took my shoes in and got many helpful tips about why I ended up with the blister and whether I should a) get new shoes, or b) change socks and the way I lace up the shoes. I ended up with new socks and new lacings, but was encouraged to come back in to exchange the shoes for a different pair if the problem persisted. As a disclaimer, the shoes start at about $100 here - so don't expect to leave without your wallet a little lighter. However, as a reluctant runner I can attest that the shoes really do make a HUGE difference when it comes to preventing injuries and pain when you are running. This is customer service at it's finest. Their programs, as well as their Divas night are well worth signing up for. I have bought all my running shoes here, and have also bought my shoes for Avon Walks etc here. They have fit my athletic shoes with inserts and as always thier helpful ness has been needed and spot on. The clinic for getting a properly fitting sports bra -(ya sounds crazy) has dramatically improved my sports playing life - thanks to good supportive garments. and the staff? friendly as can be. As someone had suggested (it seems that post has been deleted?) I did give them another try. I went in there for shoe inserts and was pretty impressed with the customer service and knowledge on the part of the staff. I want to say the person helping me was named Brian, but I may be wrong. He had me try different inserts and even showed me a better way to tie my shoes to have better support! I bought some socks, too. The shoes I bought at Zappos, according to "Brian" weren't the right thing for me- so as soon as I get sick of them, I'm going to try out Fleet Feet to get some new exercise shoes. read more

Fleet Feet has helped changed my life for the better! I have started running 1/2 marathons because of their training groups. Their training groups offer wonderful support and teach you a lot about form, stride, etc. My knees actually stopped hurting after many years because of the training that I received from these training groups. I'll start this review out with the typical comment that I needed new shoes. What I didn't expect was the thorough evaluation Rhonda took me through over the phone. (Actually, that's a lie. This is the ONLY place that you can find sports bras in 42 DD! REI used to have it, and now REI has nothing in my bra size. I wear sports bras every day, not just for sports like jogging, but also everyday wear. (Hint: wash your bras in the dishwasher, and line dry them). The staff is really friendly and helpful. I want to give a shout out to this store for doing a fabulous job. I made an appointment, and a young lady met me and had me sanitize my hands. Then she said only clean socks are allowed, they offer sanitized socks or offer any pair for 50% off. She then had me roll my pants up so the sensors could read up my ankles, and had me stand on this fancy foot pad machine. Then she had me walk barefoot 3x across a fancy pad that read my feet in motion. Then she had me sit and properly social distanced, she gave me a state of the art video rendition on an iPad of what my feet, ankles and Achilles' tendon were doing. From that data, she placed out 4 inserts for me to step into and told me to pick the one that feelt the best. From there, she brought out 3 different brands of shoes that would fit my foot type, and shape, the best. I ended up trying on 5 pairs of shoes and more inserts. Turns out the very first pair of inserts and AND shoe she brought out fit the best. The thoroughness and dedication to customer comfort and satisfaction goes beyond good, it's fantastic. Great experience. They had me try on several different pairs of shoes to try and get the right fit for my foot. I broke the same foot twice while in the military so its a bit of a challenge finding the right shoe. Fleet feet got it right. I have put about 20 miles on my new shoes and they are awesome. I'm 21 and basically haven't gotten new running shoes since maybe my freshman year of high school. I work on my feet all day and go to school and my feet, knees, and hips have been suffering because of it. My mom took me here to get my feet properly fitted and I am so happy she told me about this place. I was helped by Jackie. She was really sweet, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I can not say enough good things about Fleet Feet. They want to fit you each and every time you need a new pair. You never know what may have changed, with you or the latest version of whatever the shoe is. I'm on my third pair this year, and each experience has been fabulous. They start with their suggestions, based on questions they ask, and measurements of both feet. Then they watch you run, and narrow it down, or bring in alternates. Finally, the perfect pair is found. I have to say, my third pair is the same as the first, but the staff member didn't know it going in. The staff just want it to be the right shoe for you. I also joined their 5K run/walk program back in January. I could barely run for a minute before I started. I'm now on my 2nd 10K run/walk group with them. Great information and supportive coaches. I went to Fleet Feet Santa Rosa a few weeks ago and was assisted by Megan.(I hope I have her name right - she said she plays soccer at SRJC) I told her I was training for a marathon and was being hindered by knee pain. She recommended orthotics and a foam roller. I took her advice and purchased both - and it has changed my life! Also, on my first visit the staff person watched me walk the floor and mentioned the plantar fasciitis condition I had (have) w/o my bringing it up - and suggested inserts for it. Customer service was great. Good Deal on my wife's shoes ($25 off) and I paid about what I expected to pay walking in the door. After wasting a ton of money on ill fitting and poor quality shoes, I turned to the experts and I couldn't be happier. I have arthritis in my left knee, flat feet and very wide feet. I've been there twice and was helped by Jocelyn who was friendly, informative and helped me find the perfect shoes for my needs. I would highly recommend them, even for the non-athlete. read more

The store is spacious, displays look great and selection is reasonably big. The staff are friendly. The location is great for starting runs along the creek, which Fleet Feet takes advantage of with regular group runs. I appreciate the several free clinics, group runs, fitness promotion and event partnering Fleet Feet does. However, the business, staff and service have been "dumbed down" and corporatized in the years since they moved from 4th street and Ron lost his share of the business. The "fitlosophy" model works well for getting novice sales people seemingly versed in proper fittings but doesn't provide the detailed knowledge and problem solving skills required for the minority of people who actually need a quality fitting. The last couple of times I asked them to special order a product for me (and I was willing to pay for shipping, something Ron never charged when he special ordered something for me), I was told they can't special order products. Perhaps what bothers me the most is that every time I've gone in the past few years I see at least a couple of shoes models that have been updated once or twice from the version on their wall yet they're still asking full retail price. For their role in the running and fitness community, I give FFSR four stars but for the business itself, I give it two. read more
