Disappointment is only one of a few words I would use to describe this place. I will not be returning. Upon arrival I reviewed the menu and informed the cashier of my choice. There was only one person in the venue and she said it would be about a 35 minute wait. I asked for a large pizza and asked if it it had 8 or 10 slices. The girl said yes. No really, is it 8 or 10 slices? She said yes. I said ok and she rung me up. I waited 40 minutes before I went in and asked for my order. The girl asked a cook behind her and he had the worst attitude. He yelled with an attitude and she said about 2 minutes. The cook then went and grabbed a small personal box and threw my pizza in it. He then proceeded to toss the box forward and the girl handed it to me trying to stay polite. I then asked if my order was rite and she didn't know what to say. I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes so I left. The pizza was undercooked and what a surprise only 4 slices. I can't say that I am mad, just disappointed that the service and quality did not live up to all of the other reviews on this forum. read more

Took the family - excellent first experience. Counter staff was very friendly and gave us some informed suggestions when we had trouble deciding between their excellent array of toppings. Inside was packed (a good sign), but was nice out so we made our way out to the patio. There was an otherwise tolerable and expected wait (thing's gotta cook), but we were treated to free garlic knots / pizza roll appetizer that the kids gobbled up. Three strikes and you're OUT! I had two previous bad experiences. The last time, I was offered free food/coupon and REFUSED to prove my complaint was credible. I vowed to NEVER return. Yesterday, I was at the computer store, smelled the pizza and said "What the heck. I'll take home a pie." The VERY FIRST thing I asked was "How long for a cheese pie? I have to be somewhere?" She said "15 minutes or less" so I ordered. As an aside, ironically, I noticed the pizza maker go outside after putting the pie in the oven chatting away on his cell phone. 20 minutes later she came up to me and said "Sorry. We over cooked your pizza. It will only take 5 more minutes." (Hmmm. 15 min for the first one and 5 for the re-do? LOL) I said I had to be somewhere but I'm here this long. Just hurry up." This is why I will NEVER, NEVER, EVER return. The offered me NOTHING as compensation. Not the burnt pie; not a discount or full refund; not a coupon. NOTHING! Add that to my other two experiences and this now becomes a place I will go out of my way to tell people about. I guess the stereotypical New York attitude of "FU" holds true here. DO NOT contact me. Be careful of this place. I placed an order online for their Vista store on Melrose - they charged my credit card and promised it would be ready in 45 minutes. After an hour with no pizza I tried calling the store - no answer. Called the number on their website - got voicemail. They'll take your money but not deliver, and there's no support. read more

The people here are so much better than most pizza places. I think Carlos, their manager, is the main reason. He always keeps people happy and upbeat. When he's not here, it's not the same. I am usually known to give bad reviews due to unsatisfactory service from establishments BUT this is my 2nd 5 star review for Flippin' Pizza. Yesterday evening my husband and daughter went to grab dinner at Flippin' Pizza to find it packed. It looked like the orders were backed up and though my husband and my pizzas came out quickly, our 6 year old daughters pizza had to be made from the oven. After waiting awhile I checked and was told it was being baked and will be out soon. However, after waiting for a bit, I decided that we can just change it to a regular pizza which may speed up the process. The gentleman by the name of MALCOLM (THANK YOU!!!) was very calm and professional telling us that we will be sure to get the pepperoni but he will also get me the cheese pizza for my starving daughter. I just always have the utmost respect for those who can handle stressful times calmly and still have enough kindness to care for their customers. I am so happy to NOT have a bad experience so I can keep coming here. I persuade others to come to Flippin's rather than URBN which is the only other place we enjoy in the vista area. read more

Found this gem on yelp and couldn't be happier! Michael recommended I try the buffalo chicken pizza and it was amazing - katelyn recommended one of their pints that was something with banana hints that I had never had before and it was just as delicious. Pizza was just the way I remember it back home - thin, crispy, and oh so yummy. My kids loved their pizza so much that there was none left over for mom and dad to "finish" for them. I am brand new to the area and this is the closest pizza place to my house, I can't stop eating the buffalo chicken pizza, always available and always fresh. Honestly I used to work here and it's just gone downhill. Worked here in my early teens. And it was wayyyyyyy better then. The pizza is floppy and the pep tastes about the same as Costco's. I usually LOVE this place and I'm really upset to have to write this review. We order from here all the time (like 3-4 times a month) and we just called for delivery at 9:17pm and the kid on the line said that they were closed and hung up the phone! Well Yelp says that you are open until 11pm and it's Saturday night! We live literally 4 minutes driving time. Not cool! They will not be getting my business ever again and that is going to be bad for them as we order frequently. Worst customer service I've seen from this franchise ever. Ok, so let me start with this is NOT the best pizza I've ever had in my life... not even close, but it's certainly good. It's above and beyond dominos and even most california locally owned pizza restaurants. They have great deals at Flippin' too. I like that I can get different slices of pizza instead of buying an entire pizza to share. I love their "white stone" pizza... yum! The staff at this location in particular is my favorite. They're competent, quick, and friendly. It can get a little busy here in the evenings, so seating can be a problem. After 7:30 PM is best. For what it is, it's great! read more

So I selected this location because of the reviews and my desire for a quality pie. Very friendly staff who greets you before the door even closes. So I made my own 18" pie with mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, and basil with an order or garlic knots (to go). While waiting for my order I saw a staff who knew their customers and went overboard to be nice (I.e. Hold the front door, getting drinks, etc...). They were a little off on their time estimate of 25 minutes and actually it was 40 minutes. So on to the casa and I will rate the grubbage once I chow down. So it was an above average pie with bold flavors. If they had been less skimpy on the Parmesan cheese and peppers it could have been even better. I've eaten here and at their San Marcos location for lunch. The lunch combo is a good deal and the pizza is tasty. Although I eat meat, I like their vegetarian pizzas the best. The only downside is it's very popular at lunch so don't be surprised to see all the seats full. read more

We aren't really huge on pizza but our family loves coming here! You can really see them flipping the pizza as they make the pizza dough. If the catch you watching, they'll even throw in a few tricks. We always buy a whole pie and take the rest home.
