Found this through Yelp, had 3 hungry kids and a hubby so we decided on this place, everyone got slices and I heard no complaints!! I got the oh baby salad and a slice of their white pizza and thought they were both good but thought the pizza needed a little salt so added parmesean and it was great, the salad was a good combo of Gorgonzola mandarin oranges and baby lettuce with candied walnuts, the nuts were perfect but the balsamic dressing a little flat. The crust was excellent on the pizza. Hubby had the meat pizza and thought it was one of the best he's had. Kids ordered the dessert which is either chocolate or peanut butter baking chips with mini marshmallows in a crusted mini pie shell baked in the oven, they inhaled them. A very nice spot in vista to grab a quick slice of pizza. They have plenty of good lunch specials so you can grab two slices and a soda for like $6. I am a big fan of their buffalo chicken pizza that has just enough buffalo sauce on there so there's a nice little kick to it. I also like the Brooklyn pizza that has pepperoni sausage and garlic on it. There are only like 3-4 beers on tap so not a lot of options but the beers they have are local so you can't go wrong. This franchise has lousy service. The last time I ordered, they didn't get the order right and I failed to speak up. But tonight, we ordered delivery and they messed up both pizzas and the drink order. I called the delivery person and he referred me to the store. I ended having to drive back to the store to get my refund and return my order. No pizza is worth this headache. I will never get pizza from them again. read more

Tasty pizza. It's thin so expect to eat more than one slice. I also recommend eating in if possible because I would suspect the pizza would get cold quickly. Here's the scoop. Flippin was good years back when it was "Knock Out" pizza and although I'm not positive on this...this is the story...(Feel free to set me straight). First there was Bronx pizza in Hillcrest. Great pizza. It was the place you'd go if you were in the area other the La Posta (?). Anyway, Bronx was legit pizza. I think an employee took off from there and opened up Knockout in Carlsbad. He must have used the same recipes and suppliers cause it was super good too. Totally legit thin crust pizza and the same $5 lunch specials etc. After a good run, (here's where I'm taking the liberty of guesswork)...I think the owner sold Knockout. The new owners kept the food the same for a while and all was well. Then the OG owner (??) opened up Knockout burgers a few doors down and there was some rumbl'n n grumbl'n between the two. Shortly after ...the quality of Knockout Pizza started to slip. Hard to say what it was...cheap moz? Anyway, the new owners decided to open up a mess of Knockouts in North County (called Flippin probably cause of the dispute with the Knockout Burger??)... Anyway, long inaccurate story short...Flippin isn't all that good anymore. I cant' pinpoint it but I swear they're saving money on the cheese...maybe cheaper/worse sauce too. LOVE that they offer pizza by the slice. Whitestone (white sauce, basil, garlic, ricotta cheese) with a side of marinera sauce is the way to go. They have six beers on tap that rotate pretty often, and they always feature a couple local breweries. Staff is always friendly and do a good job of staying busy--when it's slow they're always cleaning or prepping. They don't have a very extensive menu--just pizza, a couple salads, and a couple garlic knot type sides--but what they do have is fantastic. They do lunch specials and a Thursday deal on beer. We absolutely LOVE flippin pizza! It's definitely a go to for the nights when I've stayed a work a little later than planned and just don't feel like cooking. Tried Flippin about a month ago and fell in love! Their slices are thin and crisp and their toppings are fresh and different from other typical pizza places. I recommend the Porko pizza. Taking the kids to Legoland for a couple days and staying in a nearby hotel. Felt like some pizza with the kids. Great little place what was even better we happen to go on a Thursday night when pitchers were half off. Pizza was great. You can either choose from slices or freshly made pizza. We had a cheese and the Bronx. Pizzas were great. Thin crispy New York style crust with jut the right amount of cheese and toppings. I wish this place was closer to our home.
