Being from Long Island this is the closest you'll get to real NY pizza. Been coming here for over 10 years. Lately the pies have gotten better. Crispy crust with nice gooey cheeses and tasteful sauce. One way to tell a real NY pizza place is by the condiments. If they don't have garlic powder and oregano they aren't legit NY. I could write a long involved rant about how awful the staff is or how rude they are. I could talk about their inability to fill an order or how they tell you it's not their fault and blame the equipment for their failure. I could mention that when confronted with their obvious deficiency they told me there is nothing much they could do. After a couple minutes of inquiring if they intend to "make it right" they respond with an offer of a fountain drink or some knots while we wait. I indicate they could throw in the knots as an olive branch but true to form when our pizza that was supposed to be ready comes out 50 minutes late...no knots. My husband and I had half pepperoni and chicken onion pizza. The slices are a bit bigger than normal ones which is fine with me. If were extremely hungry will order the garlic knots which keeps us satisfied until we get our pizza but I wanted something lighter before the meal and ordered a cesar salad which comes in a bowl, enough to share with 2 people. You also have your option of buying the pizza by the slice which they have different choices you can view in the case. They have vegetarian, sausages, pepperoni, buffalo chicken etc. Deals they have: 2 slices and a soda for $6. 1 Slice plus house salad and a drink is $8. Free refills on sodas. Pizza was not good, it was oily and the crust was soggy. Service was horrible. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad online and went to pick it up and nobody knew where our order was until we asked them to double check. The guy at the counter insisted on our order being at their other location in Encinitas without even trying to look for it. It was sitting in "door dash" for pick up yet nobody bothered to look. We had to ask for plates, utensils and napkins and Parmesan cheese. We were given 4 small packs of Parmesan cheese which wasn't enough. Nobody acted like they were happy working there so that's a Flippin' bummer. read more

We are a fan! My husband said we had ordered pizza from them awhile back, I cannot remember this. But, I do remember today's visit for a quick dinner. Very friendly and helpful employee at the counter and the server as well. We do like that they offer single slices along with other single slice combos. Tonight my combo order was a single slice order of pepperoni cheese pizza with garlic knots w/drink. My husband's combo was the calzone with veggies, pepperoni bites with drink. All was very good, not too tangy, but enough flavor in the pizza sauce as well as the dipping sauce for the knot's and bite's. There is outdoor seating, plenty with space heaters. Your view, Home Depot ( I love Home Depot ). The indoor seating is plenty, but no booth seating. Nicely decorated with somewhat loud music in the background. Wow, super friendly staff, singing while they work. I signed up for the flippin club, and got a text to come in for a free pizza. They even said I could upgrade to a specialty pizza, got the one with mozzarella for only $2.50. Very tasty. It was a large 18" pizza for free. Wow. Thank you. read more

Would give them 4.5 stars for their pizza, but they lose points for customer service. I called to ask about allergen ingredients in their chocolate chip cookies after we purchased a large order earlier in the night. Specifically, "can you tell me if the cookies contain nuts?" Not worried about cross contamination or trace amounts but just needing to rule out nuts on the actual ingredient list. The person who answered the phone fielded the question politely and appropriately by asking me to stay on the line so they could find out for me. But whoever they asked (I could hear the entire exchange) did not sound at all interested in helping answer this simple question or retaining an otherwise happy customer. I was told they were unable to confirm the ingredient list because they "couldn't find the box." No offer to provide vendor information so I could call the company myself or to call back Flippin Pizza at a perhaps better time to get this important information. Unfortunately we order here several times a month and will need to take our business elsewhere. read more

Weve come for many years but the service has really gone downhill and now they charge a 3.5% surcharge and then have the nerve to ask for a tip for their crummy attitudes. My friend and I came here last night an hour before they closed. There was a young lady at the register who was pretty nice, but everyone else didn't appear too excited we were there as it seemed they were already cleaning and didn't want to make more garlic knots. Customer service was lacking for sure and to us it appeared there was an air of annoyance that we were trying to order. We ordered four slices of whitestone pizza, two drinks, a salad, and we tried to use our Yelp check in for garlic knots. They had five garlic knots total and didn't offer to make more. The garlic knots were pretty good with fresh basil and I did like the whitestone pizza. I don't know if I'd come back based on the whole experience. read more

Normally I love this place as nurse its fast and good. Unfortunately, not sure I will go back now. This last time I got my Silce put my normal parm, ital seasoning, and garlic salt they provide in shakers before I ran out the door to work. I smelled something very sour and stinky in my car thinking geez I got to clean my car. Get to work put my pizza in the fridge for my overnight dinner. When I heat it up and took one bite I knew the parm was rancid it was so off putting I had to take it outside to the trash ( I like a lot of parm). I've eaten some awfully good NEW YORK-style pizza, much of it in NEW YORK. i've also eaten some awfully awful NEW YORK-style pizza and theirs is more towards that end of the spectrum. in fairness, the crust did have a nice chew and not to trivialize that contribution but that's only the foundation. i am a pizza minimalist but lots of one-note sauce even when it's slathered on good crust is just the beginning and the pizza we had saturday had no back-end. foldability is okay, i guess, but taste has to count for something. not as good as even my photos would suggest. my ten-year old did even finish his one slice. half way in he decided the reward wasn't worth the effort necessary to eat another bite. silly boy. he expected cheese on his cheese pizza. we couldn't find a place to sit. even though the place was less than half-full, every empty table needed bussing. we finally cleared our own place and wiped it down the best we could with napkins. disappointing. read more

Go.......go to Flippin Pizza NOW! I have Celiac Disease and can't normally eat pizza, but they have Gluten Free pizza. Yay!!! I've been twice now, and love it. They only offer one size GF pizza, a 10 inch. So, for that I give 4.5 stars, more size variety would put my rating off the chart! I've had the Artichoke and the Whitestone. Both were terrific. My husband shared with me each time and this last time he also added some regular non GF pizza slices. He said they were good too, and I noticed they were downed in no time. They have a ton of specials, which I think they vary up, so make sure you ask when you go in, if you don't easily see them posted! The one that comes to mind is: 2 slices and a soda for $6.00. Wow! (obviously us Celiacs know that special doesn't apply to the GF variety, but just thought I'd mention it for the rest of you). Their customer service is what puts them over the top. Both times I have been there I have been floored by their customer service. There are usually at least three guys working and everyone of them is super friendly and customer service oriented. I think they may have gone to the Nordstrom Academy for Customer Service or something. I can only imagine if I got bad service here, I might have to take a long look in the mirror....I'm just sayin'.... They even hit me up on Twitter the next day after seeing my auto-post through 4sq that I had been there. They thanked me for stopping in and wanted to know what pie I had gotten. That was a FIRST for me, and small customer service things like that go a long way towards endearing me to a company. Since I use to work very close by to Flippin Pizza, I would always come here if I wasn't in the mood for Mexican or Greek. Such a deal for 2 slices of pizza and a medium soft drink $6! If you're a Home Depot associate and paying cash, it's $5! My favorites was the Whitestone and Buffalo Chicken. Perfect combo of the two because you get the spicyness from the buffalo sauce and then the creamy, cheesy Ricotta from the Whitestone to cool down your tongue! Also my favorite salad was the Buffalo Caesar because it tastes exactly like the pizza just healthier with all those leafy greens! I love the fact that they throw your slices of pizza into the oven so they come out all nice and toasty and crusty! The staff here is always friendly and really know customer service! Only downside is that sometimes the pizza can be greasy, but hey it's pizza! Love that they use fresh ingredients as well! Also whenever there has been a Home Depot event going out in the parking lot, usually Flippin Pizza has a presence there and even got a slice for free! read more

I loved this place for so long but have been very disappointed recently. The other day we had ordered a pizza and we received it and it was so burnt it was inedible but we had receive it so late that the store was closed for the day. I am amazed that this quality was even allowed especially with the bottom black! Not happy and will be going else Update: the owner of this place is amazing, while I do feel the management could use better attention he reached out to me and made it right in the best way he can.
