Mom and I came to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2. She thought they'd have reclining chairs, but they didn't. Well, they do, but those seats are the ones closest to the screen. You probably don't want to sit there. It's one of those theaters that will bring you food while you watch the moving. The tables or bar where you place your food is dark. Like, use your flashlight to eat dark. I have a theater like this back home and I don't remember having to use my flashlight to eat. So, there's that. I started out leaning forward in my chair to eat then brought the bowl to my lap once I got comfortable eating. I ordered the chicken nuggets and fries. The fries were delicious! The chicken was hot & crunchy. It was good. Mom had a burger that she really enjoyed, but couldn't finish. We both agreed the fries were YUMMY! By the way they add 18% gratuity to your check unless you ask them not to. The theater itself is nice. I do think the sound system could be improved. One year later, we ate at Flix Brewhouse again. Service was excellent. We ordered beers and wraps. I had the Cobb Salad wrap and the Lucha Libre beer. I enjoyed the wrap very much; it came out steaming hot. The fries were fluffy, fried lovely tasting fries. I enjoyed my beer. Hubby enjoyed his wrap too; he had the buffalo chicken wrap. This is by far my favorite movie theater in town, and I don't mind making the drive to get here. From the quality of service to the food and overall experience, everything makes for a truly memorable movie outing. The front-row seats are electronic and adjustable, and you can even get waitress service when you order through the app. There's plenty of room and comfort compared to most theaters, and the restrooms are always clean. They also have a bar area, or you can have alcohol delivered right to your seat while enjoying the movie. All in all, this is my go-to theater. It can get a little chilly at times, so I recommend bringing a blanket to stay cozy. Definitely worth the visit! read more

Me and two friends came to flix to watch Black phone 2, the only memory I had of this place was the one time I went, and everything was completely wrong, and the waiter would not come back around. Well to my surprise. This time was the exact opposite of my last experience. We came for an afternoon showing for happy hour!, so I'm not sure if that helped any, but once we sat I noticed how spacious the theater was and it was decently clean inside. We were also were approached by our waiter, who we told we weren't really ready to order yet, but he said no problem, and stood there and waited for us and answered any questions we had and gave good recommendations. So to start we ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds with ranch and marinara. The hatch green chili queso, we subbed the tortilla chips for pita bread. We got onion rings that came with a type of aïoli sauce and to be even more of hungry hippos. We ordered the personal double pepperoni, pan, pizza, and split it. And honestly, everything was very good! My favorite had to be the hatch queso with the pita bread. I was surprised because the bread had tasted like it was fresh out of the oven, warm and very soft to pull apart. My next favorite were the cheese curds. They were delicious, and the sauces tasted like they were made in house or something. The onion rings, were really good, nice and crispy. I don't know if it's that I was full or what, but the pizza was my least fav I do love that it came with a lot of Green chile on it. (We added it on). I don't have a picture, but for our cocktails. I ordered the raspberry Elderflower lemonade it was delicious not overly sweet at all, my friend got the espresso martini, it was amazing! and my other friend got the el mariachi, it was a margarita and he liked it as well because he ordered 2 more. The waiters came around fast this visit and were nice and attentive. So all in all it was a great experience, I just wish our seats reclined but still can't wait to go back! read more

Overall: Flix Brewhouse is a movie theater that has restaurant service for food. Tickets are fairly cheap (~$5 for weeknight). Seats are fairly comfortable and refilling, and food is decent. Food: 3 Spinach Artichoke Dip: The dip was thick, creamy, and cheesy. It came with a layer of melted cheese on top. The naan that came with it was warm and lightly toasted. Mac & Cheese: I added chicken tenders to this and like that they cut it into small pieces. The pasta itself was decent but I wish it was saucier. Service: 3 The staff were all very kind from the ticket counter to the servers. However, our food was forgotten and we had to get up mid movie to ask about it. We would still come back though because it was likely a fluke! Ambiance: 5 The movie theater has comfortable reclining seats. I appreciate that you still felt fairly centered to the screen in the aisle seats. Never again.... We've given Flix several tries over the past few years and the service is always hit or miss. The food is usually good, atmosphere is a movie bar with lots of traffic, and everything is very expensive. One top of being pricey, they add an 18% gratuity to every order. Example: A single person orders one $7 brew, the cost will be $8.26 plus tax. The reason for this review is that I recently received exceptionally poor service at the bar. Sat down at the bar and felt invisible fort five minutes even though there were several employees (5-7) behind the bar. Finally was able to order our brews and popcorn. Beers and snack were served and we were was once again totally invisible to the staff. Several staff walked by behind the bar but never even acknowledged us or our empty glasses. Very perturbed I finally went over by the center register where several employees were gathered and loudly asked for our check. 2nd time just as great! I was in town about this time last year and had a great movie experience at the Flix Brewhouse. This year we decided to go to a show after work to just have a relaxing night. It worked out great again. We arrived on a weekend last minute and still got great seats to our movie. It took a while to get our drinks and food, the staff doesn't exactly act like stock holders of the company. But that's not that different from any other theater. The screen, sound, and good vibes of the place were great. We felt comfortable to laugh or cry depending on the scene. The seats were solid as well. They don't recline here but still a good set up. Put in our order through our phone and my husband's icy sat on the bar for 20 minutes. The bartender walked right by it and did nothing. We were the only other table sat and that group was already done eating. Finally got up and asked a manager to cancel our order. We wanted to try it but after this experience we won't be back. Overall, I think the Flix concept is a good one with big reclining and comfy seats, first rate movies and food and beverage service. I really detest businesses that nickel and dime its customers, however. 1) The Flix website says, "A non-refundable booking fee of $1.95 will be added per ticket." Fine. But when the charge came through, I was charged $2.10 for the booking fee. Dishonesty is not good business practice. I even sent an email to Flix through its website pointing out the discrepancy but did not receive a response. 2) I'm vegan so I was very happy to see a vegan burger option on the menu with the Impossible burger. Unfortunately, I did not see that there was a $2 upcharge for that burger until I received my billing statement. Sneaky. 3) Lastly, an automatic 18% gratuity. You know, I used to work in restaurants. I get it. But if you're going to automatically add a tip to my bill, why not start at 15% and let me bump it up if warranted? In fact the people there were very friendly showing me what's going on as it was my first visit there. Compared to Alamo Drafthouse and their obnoxious policy of not letting people in after the preview start this will be my go to in Albuquerque. However, I did take exception with the fact that they add an 18% tip onto my bill. This is not a tip if they added on without my consent it is a service charge. I also didn't like the fact that it was described as being done for my convenience. I don't know exactly how this was for my convenience. When the bill came, I was also then given the option to add an additional tip on top of that. Flix brew house: Best semi luxury movie theater in Albuquerque. I'll start off with what makes this place shine and then a few grievances at the end. I love that industrial brewery vibe when you first walk in, it's got a nice asthetic appeal to It. The seats inside are comfy, and there's a table in front of you where you can eat or drink so it's nice because there's a partition between rows and you don't have people coughing right behind your head. It makes the experience feel more private. There's a call button you can press to ask for service, and it's relatively quick before someone shows up to help you. The sound and quality of the movie watching experience is also very good and worth noting. Buying tickets is a breeze, their website even has a rewards system in place so I recommend using it if you want to rack those points. I wish they weren't so picky about not being even 1 minute late to buy the ticket, but it's okay, I've learned to adjust on that. Pro tip, don't ever be late, and if you are going to be late make sure to buy the tickets ahead of time or they won't let you see the show. The loaded fries, the queso dip, and fried pickles are my favorite items, my partner loves the Oreo milkshake. The popcorn there taste great but it's worth noting that unlike major theater chains if you have a health condition and can't have the extra salt on the popcorn they WILL NOT accommodate you. I was really torn on doing either 3 or 4 stars for Flix I had a bad first few interactions at flix but things have been a bit more smooth sailing as of late. My first few experiences included rude employees and staff that didn't seem to care about customer service. But at some point I did let management know and since then I haven't had the service issues anymore. Which is helpful and earned them 4 stars. I would give them 5 stars but they are not very accommodating here, I have kidney disease and requested if they can make me a batch of popcorn without salt, they can do it but they won't do it. Amc does it, so does all the other major chains, the only time they don't do it for me is usually on Saturday evening when they are incredibly swamped which is understandable. I get that a minor amount of salt would probably be left on the machine itself from previous uses but by not adding salt it is really helpful for someone like me that has a medical condition. It's the only accommodation I've really needed at a movie theater I eat the rest of the food as is but popcorn tends to usually be super high in sodium. But anyway that's more of a personal issue, I think if you don't have any need for accommodation, than Flix will be a 5 star movie going experience for you. read more

It's a cool concept, but the sliding desks and recliners made it hard for the guest on the other side of my friend to get in and out. I'm assuming this Flix Brewhouse is one of the "older" ones. My first Flix experience was in El Paso and my 2nd in San Antonio. I loved the one in El Paso! The two had the same set up: recliner seats, pull out desk from the side, and dim lights. This Flix Brewhouse does not have reclining seats and the desk pulls out from in front of you instead of the side. Also, the lights are a bit bright and at times distracting. So the setup a bit different and seems like the older model. Regardless it's still a great movie experience. A gripe I had was the server didn't mention any happy hour specials. I found out AFTER the movie when I was using the bathroom. They had the signs posted on the stalls lol The QR code also didn't link me to any happy hour specials. That would've been helpful to know! I was so impressed by this excellent customer service and the thoughtful endeavor to make things right. I'm happy to report that my most recent visit was wonderful! My husband and I had a great date night with perfect service. The drinks and beyond burgers were delicious (we love that a vegan option is offered on the menu!) and the movie we saw, John Wick 4, was great. This is my ABQ Beer Passport review for Flix. First of all, this is a brewery that shows movies, not a movie theater that serves beer. Despite the theater like facade, it is an actual Brewhouse with a brew master that competes and wins awards in the local brewer's guild. They have a taproom and weekly specials on drafts and crowlers. They have their main "four" beers including a Scottish Ale I enjoyed. They have some rotating house beers as well as a selection from other local breweries. They have only major one brand on tap is Guinness, which I appreciate. They also have a small selection of spirits and run special cocktails that pair up with movie showings. They do have a restaurant license so they do have the ridiculous NM 3-beer limit. Service is top notch and you can order from and be served at your theater seats. The only negative is that anything you order has an 18% gratuity automatically slapped on. While I appreciate wanting to give all employees in the operation a piece of the pie, how much extra effort goes into filling and delivering a bowl of popcorn? To add to this, when you sign for your tab, it asks if you want to include an additional 2/4/6/custom % for service. I could see if the extra actually went just to your server, but it too is divided up to the whole operation. The theater environment is fabulous with super clean space, state of the art equipment, and better than most seats. I wish the reclining leather seats were in more than the front few rows as watching Jurassic World was like looking up the side of a skyscraper. Comfortable, but too close. The food was better than most greasy bar food. The popcorn, pretzels and fries phenomenal, but the burger was average. One negative was that I reserved 4 seats and anything we ordered during the film went onto my card. My son and his wife asked for their own tab, but their stuff was automatically included on mine. While we sorted it out, be aware. Also, paying with cash is more difficult as they are totally set up to scan, order and pay by phone. Another bonus that I especially appreciate is that they have a strong "no kids after 7pm or at any R rated movie" policy along with a "no children under 2 period" policy. As one that detests hipster parents toting their offspring to a brewery to let them run amok like a bunch of chimpanzees, it keeps the adult theme in "adult beverages". Cheer, cheer! It's easy to order and rack up a tab here, so my advise would be to pop in and hang in the taproom when they're running a special or during happy hour (3-5/9-11 Mon-thurs) for $4 pints and $7 appetizers, especially after 7pm (no kids)! We really stopped going to movies because of kids and screaming babies, so this might get us back into seeing some, but the hidden gem is the beer. We like coming here because you can get food and a movie. We usually come at night and have had our share of ups and downs especially with broken recliner seats. We decided on a whim to come for a 10am movie. Yes I get they probably have a skeleton crew but they have a breakfast menu so you would think ok cool breakfast tacos. Nope. Took over an hour to get 1 order of breakfast tacos and a pretzel. I had to ask someone to check on our food. The breakfast tacos were ice cold. Do not recommend at all. Pretzel was good. The seats with the pop up leg rests and the food fold away tray in front was very smart hold the trays of food and drinks. I recently went to A movie and I was under the assumption that the server gets the 18% gratuity that's charged to each individual receipt. However, I was told that my server did not see one dime Of the gratuity!! Today when we called about it We were informed by Damien that the gratuity of 18% to the receipt goes to cleaning Service the bartender and server. It does not clarify any of that In the receipt so when you think the 18% is going to your server it's NOT, it's very deceiving to everybody. Fix this problem.
