Finally got the chance to try the Birria Tacos from Fuego 505- and they did not disappoint. Personally I've always thought nothing can top Los Pookies, but I feel these are in a different lane. Wildly different while still being so freaking amazing. There's a certain spice or something that they use in the Birria that hits just right. That's the only true way I can explain it. I can't tell if the 'consume' is chili or what from here? At Los Pookies it seems to be like a broth, but here is a thicker & spicier sauce which compliments the tacos so well. (please let me know!). It gets quite busy in here especially with it being setup as more of a sports bar, with the TV's and such. They have a shaded patio which I believe also may have a TV* (don't quote me on this part) . All the servers I have had have shown great hospitality. I will continue to return. -- Follow up before I post.. Was not crispy, cubed chicken inside was dry, was hoping for some guac but only came with some tomato tasting salsa. Here's the thing for the nachos. The ingredients individually were good, you can tell it's quality. However all together the flavors did not mesh well. Had queso, shredded cheese and Cojita. The asada was tender and good but the red sauce they make and put on top was not very good. Can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon. Especially for the cost. This is my friends consistent weekly hang since on Mondays they offer $4 draft beers so I decided to tag along and see what they had to offer! The draft selection had a nice mix of local favorites and big brand staples. We sat at the bar and the bartender did a good job of taking care of us while also making a plethora of drinks on a busy Monday. The food came out quick and I really enjoyed my tacos! The pork belly on the pork belly mac and cheese taco was a bit tough but still tasty. The quesadilla tacos were my absolute favorite and I Will be going back for those! read more

They didn't take the onions off so about half of my burger tasted so strong like raw onions which I absolutely LOATHE. However the parts that hadn't touched the onions were delicious. Also the fries were so good! And to be fair the manager asked me as we were leaving if everything was all right and when I explained the onion situation, he said I should have told him and he would have fixed it. Ok, this place has become a regular stop for us. I've had the green chile cheeseburger (and upgraded the fries to queso fries), most of the tacos, the nachos, quesadillas, and probably more. Everything is tasty and perfectly prepared. My favorite is probably the shrimp taco. I'm a huge fan of fish tacos, but the spicy Thai chili really gives the shrimp a punch that hits right. The barrio tacos are a close second, and their queso is some of my favorite in town. Some nights it's super busy and hard to get a table, but I rarely mind waiting. It can be a bit loud when there's a game on, but the overall vibe is easygoing and a great place to meet friends for dinner. Looking forward to trying a weekend breakfast, though! This review is for the Carne Adovada Fries. Since Fuego doesn't offer green chile cheese fries, I still want to include them in my list as they are very tasty! The adovada is a bit runny, so the fries on the bottom of the stack get soggy by the end. However, fries are cooked perfectly, the adovada tasty. The crema and queso add to the flavors and the whole thing is topped off with fresh jalapeño pieces. The only difference I'd like would be real cheese. I give these 4.5 stars worth the trip. The plate is large enough to share but nobody likes a quitter so finish them! read more

IF I COULD LEAVE 0 STARS I WOULD. The customer service was non-existent. We watched some of our food sit there for 10 minutes before they finally brought it out to the table. They have one lady working every table. Who I assume was the manager came by the table and asked if we needed anything and seemed like he got an attitude for asking for a refill after waiting for someone to come for 10 minutes. One of our favorite breakfast spots! Dinner is awesome too! We love the fajitas, made to order chicken wings as well as the barrio burrito, breakfast sandwich and churro french toast! We've been going here since it opened, probably once every few months. LOVE the food and the atmosphere. Agree with others the music can be a little too loud but the selection 90% of the time love! Have gone during their Super Bowl party which is fun. My parents were in town and wanted to take us out for dinner. We wanted them to experience the food as it is really good, but hesitated because the service is consistently very poor. We went ahead and took the chance. Food was amazing as always service was awful as always. I have to ask is one of the requirements to work there to have a pissed off, or annoyed demeanor, or just to go and hang out and talk to other employees while food sits and gets cold and drinks get watery. If so then you have found the correct staff. It truly is a shame because the food is good and the bar setting is great! It was our first time trying out this place. We always see it and have been wanting to try it for a while now. Glad we were able to get that chance. Just know that parking is scarce here. There was construction going on around the area of this restaurant at the time we visited. The evening we visited they were packed, but thankfully we were able to find a seat in the corner. Most of the people there were watching the baseball game. So that is probably why it was so packed. We were not served right away, but that was okay. They were busy. Lacee was our waitress who helped us get settled in. She took our drink orders and gave us some time to look at the menu. The menu was pretty elaborate and they had a lot to offer. The drink menu was pretty good too, they had many to choose from. We decided to start off with the ceviche, that was pretty good. Served with freshly made tortillas chips. Yummy! We enjoyed that. Then for dinner, we shared some tacos; fish, avocado and carne asada. All three tacos were delicious and full of flavor. We enjoyed them. I decided to try the fuego plate with carne adovado, which was served with the calabacitas. It was a little on the spicy side for me, but I was able to enjoy it all. Again, our waitress Lacee was great! She made sure we had drink refills and took great care of us. Overall, the food and the dining experience was good. We will definitely be back to try it again. Stopped by here for a date night with my husband. The place was busy but we got sat quickly! Our server was super efficient and friendly. He saw us watching a sports event on our phone and tried to get it onto the tv right in front of us, he didn't get it as I don't think he had the channel we were watching on but the thought and effort was there. I visited Fuego505 on November 26, the night before Thanksgiving. From the beginning, the service was already disappointing. The server took nearly 10 minutes just to get our skewer order correct, and then later came back to tell us that the skewer grill had actually closed at 9 PM, meaning the item could not be made at all. This could have been communicated upfront and would have saved everyone time. Despite this, and despite the unprofessional service, I still left a 20% tip when we finished our meal around 10:45 PM. Shortly afterward, I realized I had accidentally left my credit card behind. I immediately drove back and arrived at the restaurant around 11:20 PM while the staff and the manager were still inside after closing. What happened next was extremely disappointing: * The same server who had just served me less than 30 minutes earlier seemed to have "no memory" of me or the card, even though I had just tipped him. * When I tried to walk inside to check my table (Table 6), the manager stood at the doorway and did not allow me to step inside, even though the lights were on and employees were still present. * The "search" they did was only a very quick glance -- not a genuine effort to look for the card. * The manager told me to "come back tomorrow," even though November 27 was Thanksgiving, which is clearly not a reasonable solution for a lost credit card. * When I requested a contact number in case the card was found, the manager provided the number listed on their website. However, it turned out to be a bad number. * I called it in front of him and it did not work. He tried calling it himself, and it also failed. * Even after confirming the number was non-functional, he gave no alternative phone number, and did not take my contact information. Because no real assistance or follow-up option was provided, I was forced to cancel my card immediately. This entire experience -- from unprofessional service during dinner, to the refusal to help afterward, to providing a non-working phone number -- was extremely disappointing. I hope the management seriously reviews its customer service standards and internal procedures. read more

A nice take on traditional New Mexican fare! After a few visits and a few meals, I'm loving the little things that make Fuego 505 different. It's a simple menu with apps, tacos, meats, sides... but then you have things like daily specials (Thursdays are my favorite for the Barrio tacos & ramen), a lobster roll, and exotic meats like elk, rabbit and duck. Then there's the little, little details that you don't see at other NM spots like calabacitas, elote, scalloped potatoes, and fried egg toppings. Everything I've had so far has been great and that includes the service. The drink selection is very nice with lots of beers tap, they're open late and when you're done you can just cash out with a QR code. If I had any advice it would be to go a little early or later to minimize your wait and take a sweater because it can get chilly. Or, just pick a seat by the window in that hot sun. read more

This place is so good. The drink menu is awesome and they make the best espresso martini. I hear the Amaretto Mule is fantastic too. They have beer on top, lots of wine and liquor options too. Now let's get to the food. Right now during the cold weather they have posole and let me tell you, it's so darn delicious. I'm one of those people who can generally only eat this once a year but so far I've had it 3 times and bought 2 quarts for Christmas. Their Fuego plate/used to be bowl is so good. Their queso and homemade chips and their salsa is great when I go in just for a cocktail/beer and a light snack. The scalloped potatoes are amazing, their tacos are plentiful and not small. The fried avocado one is my favorite. I've tried lots and have never been disappointed. Their carne adovada breakfast tacos are great too. So many yummy options. The staff is awesome. You're greeted as soon as you walk in. You're never waiting long to be served, they pay attention to everyone with a smile. They're never just standing around either which I appreciate. If you've never been, you need to give them a try. Some may think it's a little expensive at times but I don't think so, plus I'm getting a great quality meal from a local restaurant. They have lots of seating and a great long bar. In the summer, they offer outdoor seating too. Now go give it a try! read more

My wife and I were waiting for our daughter to finish a job she was doing in the area. She was delayed, so we decided to find some local place to eat. We discovered Fuego 505 and boy what a FIND! The atmosphere is great, the staff are very friendly and the food is to die for! I have their Barrios Tacos, which I've heard of before. Honestly, I think this may be the best tacos I've ever eaten. I scarfed down two, before I realized I should go slower and enjoy them even more. My wife choose the Chef Choice Special tacos. She got a sampling of three tacos. Great spot with lots of space and large patios. Good service too! The portions were big especially for the fajitas! The meat tasted kind of game-y for some reason even though I ordered steak/beef. I don't like that flavor so that's why it's not 5 stars. The beans were sooooo delicious, very flavorful and juicy. The rice was also really good as well as the dipping crema sauce.
