Second time coming to this establishment. Didn't write a review the first time but decided to do so after our second visit. The idea of food and drinks at a movie makes going to a movie more enjoyable for me. Throw stone nice craft beer on top and its a no brainer. I would definitely come more often if it was closer to my side of town. So why the 3*? Well..... to put it bluntly, we got no service the second time around. We walked into the theater, got greeted, and sat down at our seat. Our server came over and welcomed us and told us he'd be right back to take our order. Well he never did. 10 minutes passed by as i see him sit another 2 couples AFTER us and takes both their orders and brings them their water before returning to us asking if we'd been helped. The lack of attention bothered me. Everything else was great. Seating and viewing of the screen to seat comfort was perfect. I'll still visit this place from time to time but hopeful next time we won't get ignored. read more

My friend and sand I went here yesterday to see Thor. I have been here once before and I feel like this is a novel and fun idea-- combine movie viewing with dining. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. We both started out the dining experience with cocktails. They're were good, and NOT weak. I had the Long Island ice tea and it was great. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad and my friend ordered the brisket Mac n' cheese. We ordered queso and chips for an appetizer. The first issue was that we were one of the first to order, and our food didn't come out until everyone else in the theater got their food. I had to push the request button to inquire about our food. The waiter was attentive and went to check. Apparently, they thought it was wise to keep our food in the kitchen because they ran out of tiny plastic cups for the queso. So we got all our food at once, which is fine. Unfortunately, my salad was not satisfying, as the greens were soggy with water, ruining the taste of the salad. If they were less wet, the flavor would have been better, but it was watered down. The queso was good, but maybe lacked a bit of flavor. My friend did like his Mac n' cheese, however he said it contained very little brisket. The movie viewing experience was great, and I didn't find the waiters to be intrusive or distracting as they are dressed in black and the theater is set up in a way that they do not obstruct the view of the movie. Overall, the idea is great, but the execution of the food was not the best. I probably would have been better off going to the average movie theater. read more

Very disappointed with the last couple of experiences I've had with Flix. Last time I went to see a movie, I had ordered some popcorn and M&Ms. About 25 minutes into the movie, I asked about my order as it still wasn't out around 40 minutes after ordering. They brought out the popcorn but not the M&Ms, and yet I was still charged for the candy plus automatic gratuity. A tip is ridiculous when I had to remind them about my order and they still couldn't get it right. The manager took the candy charge off my bill at the end of the movie, but not the tip. Then in December I bought a $25 gift card and got a free movie voucher as part of the gift card promotion. I tried to redeem my voucher online and it doesn't work. I called the store and apparently I have to drive all the way across town just to buy a movie ticket. Every other theatre can manage online vouchers, but not Flix. The promotion also promised a voucher that expires at the end of Feb, but mine expires end of Jan. In the future I won't bother being suckered in by a promotion, as it seems Flix invents obstacles that prevent them from making good on their promises. read more

I wish they would fix the food service already. I went to watch Thor and ordered water and popcorn. It took an hour half to get my popcorn and only after I clicked the button to remind the staff. It's like staff can't keep track of an order with respect to a seat location. Then it was cold and stale. I'm charged $11 for popcorn with 18% gratuity built into the check. Pretty good place to see a movie but you need to pay attention to which theater you select because there are some some very small theaters. Also, you need avoid the seats with the fold down table, which thankfully are marked on the seat map. If you're looking to see a new release movie, especially on the weekend, consider booking your ticket online a day or two ahead, as the theaters fill up on the day of the show (you will be charged a service fee for an online booking). Service is usually pretty fast with food brought out by whoever is available but seldom the person who took your order. This has led to problems 3 of our last 5 trips, most often not receiving an item because it is no longer available. To fix this, they do a refund on the original card for the item and tax but not the 'mandatory' 18% tip which was calculated on the original order. read more

When we got into the movie the waiter took 20 minutes to take our order, he did not come over until after the movie started. Horrible experience. Do not recommend. We were a few minutes late to our showtime, less than 15 minutes after the start time and well within the previews. The staff and management arbitrarily refused to let us in and didn't help process a refund at all. Apparently paying and being denied the service you paid for is common practice here. We went to Flix Brewhouse for the first time, so I can't compare it to what it was like pre-pandemic. The only knock on the place is that they hadn't yet made the locally brewed beers, but the brews they had on tap were delicious. We were VERY pleasantly surprised by the comfort level. The chairs were very cushy, if maybe a little hot for a beefy dude like me, with loads of legroom. The food was delicious--in fact, maybe there was a little too much. Love the way they served the food at the beginning of the film and came by unobtrusively to pick up the used plates and glasses. There weren't many people at our showing and none of them sat in front of me, so I couldn't say how well the auditorium handles noise or tall peoples' heads sticking up in front of the screen, but my guess is that it wouldn't be an issue. There's a very stern "silent theater" warning before the movie starts that tells audience members that there is one warning and then you're out without a refund if you screw up twice. My kind of theater. Very modern, clean facility, close to my house, showing the kinds of movies I enjoy. Particularly appreciated the pre-movie entertainment. Since we were seeing "No Time To Die" it consisted of cut scenes from other Bond movies and even a bit of behind-the-scenes stuff about one of the stunts. A great touch, MUCH preferable to watching ads for things I couldn't care less about. All in all a terrific movie experience that has spoiled me for every other theater in town. About the only reason I could imagine going elsewhere is for an IMAX screen. read more

So you want to do dinner and a movie but only have time for one? Why compromise?! Go to a movie where they have table service in the theater! So, I was in ABQ for Thanksgiving, and my sister and I usually go see a movie together mid-day to get out of my mother's (the turkey day chef's) hair. Flix Brewhouse is pretty close to their home, and they had the most ideal showing time of our desired movie, so we bought tickets online, selected our seats, a bit confused about the whole set up, and headed over to the cinema. Once there, we walked up to the ticket counter and got the rundown on the joint. Theaters open 30 minutes before showtime. There is a restaurant and bar in the 'lobby' where you can eat or drink beforehand or afterwards. You can bring that stuff in to the movie with you, or you can wait and order from a waiter FROM YOUR SEAT in the theater! We were there slightly early, so we perused the beer list and settled on a local cider to share a pitcher of. We each had a glass at the bar, and brought the rest in to the movie with us. We found our seats, equipped with reclining chairs, tray tables, and cup holders, as well as menus and order pads. Before the movie starts, a server comes by to take any order you might have. He gave us the lowdown on how mid-movie ordering and payment works. If you need something, each seat has a call button. If it is during the movie, you write down what you want on the paper, so no talking interrupts. If you order before the movie, a tab is started on a card. 20ish minutes before the end of the movie, a bill is delivered. All orders have an included gratuity added (a point made clear on the menus, on signs, and by our waiter). If your card has already been run, you just sign, if not they will return for a means of payment a few minutes later and take care of it. Prices for food and drink are very reasonable, considering the usual movie theater markups we are all used to. Service was friendly and quiet during the film. It wasn't anymore distracting than someone getting up to pass you to use the restroom during a movie. And I didn't hear or see him when he was taking orders or delivering food to anyone in the rows around us. Our experience here made me wish a Flix Brewhouse would open immediately in my hometown! read more

I've been here a few times now and noticed its been extremely inconsistent each time. In the past I've received my food before the movie started, and last night I received my food during the middle of the movie. Last night, my friend and I ordered a beer at the same time. I received a refill before I could even finish my beer during the first half of the movie, but my friend received his refill towards the end of the movie. In the past I never got a refill at all. The food is delicious, but since everything is really inconsistent it makes it a hit or miss. They also automatically charge you 18% gratuity which is kind of annoying but at least they did the math for me. read more

We absolutely love coming to Flix. Used to have Cinemark moviepass, but immediately dropped it after we started coming early this year. Great food, great beer, always a good time. We've had some minor issues (like something being forgotten and having to request it again) but nothing major and every time the issue has been resolved. So I've come here a number of times since my first review. In comparison to century rio cinemark it's much better. This place takes rude nasty people who have no common respect to be quiet and not bother others. For that this place gets a five out of five rating. Due to not changing their menu around they get a 3 out of 5; not many food choices other than hamburgers, pizza, sandwiches, etc. however they do have healthy choices like salad. The food is relatively priced well but they should try to make it a little more classy and serve things like Italian, steak, calamari.. attentiveness has improved I think over the years but they should ask for suggestions each time. Ok... I'll be honest, I was sort of expecting the food to be less than great. You know any time you go someplace where they offer some kind of entertainment the food is usually sub-par. (I enter Chuckie-Cheese into evidence) The food was amazingly good. It's a limited menu, but what they make, they make well. I had a burger and fries and it was really, really good. I tend to be picky and hard to please... especially when it comes to burgers. (Easy to make, but oh so easy to screw up) The service was good, the seating was great. Let me start off by saying I previously reviewed this establishment and gave them 4 stars. I'm so upset and disgusted with this place that I feel the need to write an update. Let me take you back to June 4th, a Sunday night. We decided to go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. We get our tickets no problem. Get to the theater and it takes about 15minutes for our server to come over. He takes the orders of my two friends and my drink order and then leaves. I think ok no problem he will come back to get my food order. Nope, never does. I finally press my call button just as the movie is starting and someone else comes to get my order. I got my grilled cheese and beer just fine but my water never came. About halfway through the movie, I ordered a milkshake, it took 30 to 45 mins to come and had clearly been sitting out for a while as it was soup. I asked again for a water and still never got one. When the movie ended I was talking to my friends and their soda took 30 mins to come out. We checked our checks and noticed that we did not receive the 20% off our bill for being Circle members. Since our server was nowhere to be found we went and asked to speak to a manager. When we raised our concerns he simply said, "Oh we are short staffed and didn't expect it to be this busy. So sorry folks." He also went on to explain that the 20% was only valid one time during the first 60 days. I called him on that because up until this point I had been receiving 20% off every time I came. I also had the servers telling me oh good you're a member so we can get you the 20%. Instead of saying I'm so sorry you were misinformed, these are the rules now but let me get you that discount one last time, he gave us each a free voucher for a movie. My friends had just signed up for the Circle that day and he explained that the membership can take 24 hours to appear in the system and that they would get their 20% off on their next visit. On June 22nd my friends went to see Cars. This movie was too new for them to use their passes and that was not advertised anywhere on the website. They were only informed of this upon arriving at the theater. Despite that, they went to the movie and made sure the server knew they were new Circle members so they would get the discount. When their bill came it was once again wrong, no 20%. They went and talked to a manager again and this manager told them they only got 20% off on their first visit. He knew nothing about the 60days or any of that. They explained to him what they were told the last time and he went ahead and got them the discount. We went tonight to see Wonder Woman. We used our vouchers and were excited to see this movie. Our server did not even acknowledge our existence until we had been sitting there for 40 minutes. The lights had gone down and we had pressed our call button about 15 to 20 mins prior. The manager came over before, Reggan, our server did. She actually had to tell him to help us next as he was going to walk past us to another group. He seemed super annoyed and was interrupted repeatedly while taking our order by other servers. We were ready with order and tried to get him on his way quickly. I ordered food, a beer, and a water. My water once again never came. My friend ordered a diet Pepsi, which also never came. He had to press the call button twice more and tell both of the other people who showed up that he wanted a diet Pepsi before it came. I asked for a water again and still never received one. None of this would have been the end of the world until the checks came. My friends were paying cash and intended to leave a generous tip, on top of the 18% gratuity, but Reggan's attitude completely ruined that. He brought all the tickets, then about 10min later came back by to collect payment. When he got to my friends he stopped and banged on the stack of checks in his hand and then pointed to their bill. My friend said I'm watching the movie we will pay after. He continued to motion to the check and stand in the way of the screen. Then he moved to the end of the row and stood there until they paid. This attitude is so unacceptable and there are no excuses for it. We will never go back there and I would warn you away from it as well. They are "short staffed" and "busier than expected" on the regular it seems and that is not a satisfactory way to run a business. When they first opened service was prompt, friendly and they even came back to check on you throughout the movie. Now if you get service at all it is terrible. None of the staff speak the same language on the policies and procedures. Also, parking is already terrible and there are more business that will be opening and sharing that parking lot. It's a cool concept and convenient for all of us but we will be taking our business elsewhere from now on. read more

My original statement continues to be relevant: At Flix, you can have your dinner & a movie date without the petty conversational formality that usually ruins the whole thing. Two birds, one stone. This remains my go-to for a really good movie -- I'm one of those rare, annoying creatures who reads movie reviews to decide whether I'm going to devote two hours of my life to them. When I know it's going to be a Great film, I know it should be seen at Flix. The entire experience is downright indulgent, and I'm so glad no one can see me in there, stuffing my face with wangs and fries, swigging beer, snorting at bad jokes, you know. I'm a gelatinous, piggish American lout, demanding my pints and sides of ranch, and yes, I'm spending a premium on the experience; a ticket and a meal (and a couple beers) can easily run $30-40 here, per person, so yeah, that movie better be Great. When it isn't that Great, I'm more critique-y, and here's my biggest complaint, as of late: the house brews have tanked. I've sampled all the mainstays, the only one I can recommend is the Luna Rosa. It's crazy to me that this hasn't been how movie theaters work since their inception. I mean, drinking beer and eating good food WHILE watching your movie is basically your textbook "we should buy a bar" genius million dollar idea. Flix does it well. Every time I've gone the guests with me have enjoyed this environment immensely. I hear nothing but good things from the people at work as well. My own experience has been a bit lacking in comparison though. The first time we couldn't get a refill on drinks at all. We ordered it and it took another 45 minutes before someone came by and asked if we wanted more to drink again. We said we'd ordered it and please, yes. Another 30 minutes and finally the drink arrives (wrong drink). The service seems slow and sloppy for what it is which is disappointing. I have severe food allergies so I have to ask what's in things and I repeatedly get the same answer (3 times going now, same answer each time from staff - not same person): "Oh, I don't THINK it has any? I'm not sure." No, no. With an actual food allergy, thinking it isn't good enough, I'm sorry. I'm not overly picky, I'm not aggressive in asking, if anything I'm mousey and quiet about it and embarrassed I have to ask anyway, so I know it's not my attitude causing the answer. It doesn't happen other places, just here. So opinion would be to please train staff that food allergies are serious things and can range anywhere from stomach issues to vomiting to hospital visits and life threatening emergencies. Not to be toyed with, in general. The food options for someone with potato and soy allergy (plus high FODMAP gluten items just because my entire body thinks this is hilarious to suck this much) are just not there. They "think" the chicken wings might be okay and "think" the salad dressing may not have soy but they can't be sure. It seems no food there comes with packaging for them to look at or that no one on staff has any idea what they put into items to create them, I'm not sure. They've gone to ask the cook and come back once with "we think" as the answer again. I couldn't even get an answer on the oil for the popcorn which is just outright depressing. So I'm playing roulette with my food allergies every time. That said, it's far away from me, the screens are smaller than I'd thought they would be, and when the whole experience ends up in the $70 to $80 range I'm not really a fan. However, my rating remains at a three because every person I've been with who has no food allergies and is willing to overlook the fact that they cannot get refills, etc at a place that boasts about such things seems happy with it. Flix Brewhouse is the first of it kind in NM. You can finally eat real food, drink alcohol and watch a movie at the same time! It's awesome! There is a fairly good amount of beers on the menu which I really like and the food is actually pretty good: The only thing I don't care too much about this place is that it is so far from where I live and it's very hard to sit with a huge group together unless one person buys all the tickets. Comfy seating + good food = great movie experience. What can I say? I love this place. As an Apsie, I'm big on the rules, and Flix enforces them. They don't let people in late (I can't stand people coming in late), they don't tolerate phones being used during the shows, nor excessive noise. That alone helps with a good movie experience, but on top of that the seats are clean and comfortable, the retractable table is amazing, completely out of the way when not in use, but able to be pulled close to eat without having to reach. They note pad and notification light with the runners is well thought out. The good food adds to the experience, and while this isn't the worlds greatest food, when you consider that it's food you got at a movie theater, it's excellent. This is restaurant quality food (not something cheaply put together). I'd say it's "average" for a restaurant, I really like the Hatch Green Chile Burger , although their pizza is good too. The popcorn is awesome as well. They will also refill your sodas during the movie. All this combined makes for an amazing movie experience that if you've never tried, you really need to. You can buy reserved seats online, which means no need to show up crazy early for a good seat. Order when you sit down before the movie and if you need anything else, just push the button! The food is typical burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas with a reasonable price tag. A handful of beers on tap (brewed in house!), as well as wine and cocktails. Such a nice experience! You can buy dinner and drinks and enjoy a movie. Just like you were at home but you don't have to cook or clean AND you get to enjoy a movie in a movie theater. Also the chairs are like recliners you would have in your own living room. The waiter/waitress comes to your seat and takes your order. Get tickets in advance online for the best seats and show up a little early so you can order your food. Once the movie starts, you can't really see the menu and I'm not sure if they stop taking orders then. The prices are very good and the food is fantastic! Everything I've ever gotten there was perfect. The venue is nice, I can actually hear the movie but it's not too loud. Very clean and the staff is very polite. Been to this location at least a half dozen times and it's always in the details. But, this last trip .... got to our seats, scanned the QR code for the menu ... both of us get an error. Try several times and at different seats. No luck. Tell the server and get the condescending "well sir, you have to hold your phone up to the ....". I might be OAF but the "technology" isn't beyond me. So server brings a paper menu. We order. Guess what? The paper menu isn't accurate and they don't serve what we want off that menu. Get that settled and then .... forgot to bring part of our order. And they upfront add 18% tip to the check? Lowered expectations. But the movie was great! read more

This place absolutely torpedoed my diet for the day, but it was definitely worth it. We've been meaning to come for a while, and we've heard nothing but good things from friends and family, so when we had nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon we decided to catch a matinee. This is such a great date night spot. It's the classic "dinner and a movie" all rolled into one. It's unique and fun, and the whole experience was really enjoyable! I would definitely recommend trying to get there at least 30 minutes before your show starts. We only gave ourselves about 20 minutes and we just felt a bit rushed, I would have enjoyed a few extra minutes to peruse the menu. Plus, the "previews" were mostly funny YouTube videos related to the film we were about to watch - not nearly as dull as those first look clips. Bad Lip Reading is always hilarious. Far and away the best thing we tried was the spinach and artichoke dip with fried pita bread. SO. YUMMY. We also shared a chicken bacon pizza and there was plenty to go around. Thomas tried one of their in-house brewed beers and liked it, though he says he'll try a different one next time around. There were plenty of non-beer drink selections as well. Next time we go we're planning to try out some of their other entree options and get some dessert! I love being able to choose and reserve a seat in the theater! I was meeting some friends that were in from out of town and it took the pressure off of someone getting there early to save good seats. The menu is good and the wait staff was attentive. Comfy seats. Clean theater and restrooms. Flix is on the W side of town and I live in the NE heights so it's not convenient for me. But it was fun and I will be back. read more

I always thought this place would be expensive with the food and all but it's not too bad. Tickets itself were a good price and the service is organized and throughout. I'd say this place has one of the best popcorn from a movie. In addition to the popcorn, I was craving for dessert. I got the tuxedo cake since I love chocolate cake but this cake was pretty okay. I'm not a big fan the how chocolatey it was but the cake itself was good. Great place to eat and watch a movie! read more
