It's tucked in the corner of this strip mall off Wertheimer. If you weren't using your GPS or looking hard enough, you might miss this place. It's literally tucked in the corner. This restaurant is a real "gem" and dining here is like going to Paris but without the crowded airports and jet lag. They have a large selection of pastries that are sure to satisfy the most indiscriminatory taste buds; and their break omelets and crepes are simply divine. The coffee, latte and cappuccinos are some of the best in town too. The folks at the counter are friendly and the service is top notch, especially for a casual dining place. Went to a Valentines Day lunch with my boyfriend, and we absolutely loved this place. It made me nostalgic for my trip to Paris. My boyfriend got the salmon sandwich and I got the 4 cheese crepe, and both were fantastic. My crepe was especially good with the tomatoes on the side. We also split the French Onion soup, which was really good, though not usually one of my favorite soups. Finally, we splurged on a lemon tart and a berry tart, which were both delicious, though the berry tart was better in my opinion. So I saw the sign while on the way to the gym this morning and it was catching my attention on the way back. So checked the reviews on and headed that way. First of all, the location is very obscure. I initially thought it was closed. But inside is this really cute little bistro. The place has only been open a week, but you would never guess it. It was very busy in there. You would think it was an established franchise with all the patrons. I have the grilled chicken crepe and I go the ham & cheese croissant. The crepe was good, but I had to peel off a layer. It was too much crepe for me. The croissant as delish. But more than anything, the owners are really nice and the entire family is there working the entire. place. I have been wanting to come to this place since I found out they opened. However, their hours are slightly unreasonable, especially considering how crazy traffic can get on this side of town. The location was also not easy to find given as how all the plazas on Westheimer tend to look generic. And lastly, the specific plaza it is in is hard to get to from the opposite side of the street as it is at a weird spot. I had some macarons (orange and pistachio) which were both pretty good. Tasty and chewy and were of decent size. I also had a Blueberry and Peach Torte, which was stellar. The creaminess and crunchiness were perfect, as well as the blend of fruits. I highly recommend it. Their salmon salad looked good, so I have to try it the next time (who even know when that will be given those hours). This place was overpriced and overhyped. After passing by FLO many times, with one previous attempt to try it, (but to my dismay, not a parking spot in the center was available), I finally went at 8:30 am last week, Thursday. The place was almost empty except for two tables of diners. I did not find the inside decor inviting, more sterile, without much atmosphere. I saw the sizes of the croissants to be humongous, which did nothing for me. I prefer a size I can actually finish, not waste! I bought one of each kind to share. I also inquired about the lunch menu, and the knowledgeable person behind the counter did give me a good detailed review, so I could return and try lunch. My 3 stars are for the croissants themselves and the lack of atmosphere. Maybe adding soft music would help liven up the place a bit. I have loved the almond cream croissants at French Riviera bakery forever and FLO's left me disappointed! I was in Paris, France, almost 2 years ago, and the croissants there could make me smile as I bit into their deliciousness! FLO's croissants just doesn't do it for me! They lack that "je ne c'est quoi" to be anywhere near the best of what you can find all over Houston. I will come back and try them for lunch. Was craving a sweet treat and an accompanied vanilla latte. I'm a huge fan of pâtisseries and parisian baked goodies and didn't feel like going to chinatown; so I decided to try out FLO since I live in the area. I came in a hour before it closed so the staff was already cleaning up the area. The long casing that held the sweet and savory offerings looked a bit bleak due to it being almost closing time and they only had a limited number of goods, but that def was not a representation of my experience when I bit into their pistachio eclair. THAT PISTACHIO ECLAIR WAS EVERYTHING ESP THAT PISTACHIO FILLING. MY MOUTH TINGLED BECAUSE IT WAS THAT GOOD. It felt awesome picking the right thing from their casing. Their vanilla latte sans latte art that I washed down the eclair with was GREAT. Had the right balance of vanilla sweetness to the coffee. I was really excited to try this place for the first time today especially for the crepes. I get there and they are super busy. I wanted to try a crepe and they told me it would be a 30 minute wait and suggested I get something else. My husband had the pastrami sandwich, he loved it and was raving about it and I had the salmon tandoori sandwich, it was ok. We had the strawberry mousse cake and it was pretty good. The both of us together was $42 which was very pricey. It is a family owned business and they are of French descent. The food and desserts have very nice presentations. They have been open for 1 week, I hope they hire more help and fix the kinks but overall, it was a nice place and the food is good. read more

If you were just driving by and looking around for a place to eat, you may miss Flo Paris. It is a quaint little cafe and bakery oddly placed at the intersection of a strip mall. However, this small little bakery is truly a great find. The lunch menu that they have is very focused and done very well. Sandwiches, savory and sweet crepes, and soups. I had the croque monsieur and I can say this with confidence, it is THE BEST croque monsieur I have ever had. Very well balanced, good beschemel sauce, and good quality ham. The thing that set it apart was the cheese. Most places will just melt it a little, but they make sure that the top is caramelized and slightly crisp. The owners also did a good job of balancing such a heavy meal with a very nice, light salad. The bakery was also amazing with lots of interesting goods that you wouldn't find in other bakeries. I did go for a rather safe option with the fruit tart. It looked good, but they made it so that every bite you take it's a little bit different. It's the sort of pastry that says to you, "but look closer" and you find a nice light layer of custard, "but look closer STILL" and there's a small edible chocolate wafer that has the logo. Absolutely delightful. If you are hesitant of coming here as I was that it might be off-putting because of the very French environment, the service here proved me wrong. The owner is a wonderful old man and was a joy to have serving us. He also went around the dining room and brought out some freshly baked baguettes to see if we would like to sample any. If you are looking for a place to have brunch, I would definitely put this place at the top of your list. read more

Came in to snag a salad to go and some pastries! Salad was something fancy with its olive oil dressing, arugula + microgreens, tomatoes, and dainty slices of smoked salmon. Albeit easy on the eyes, this salad lacked flavor. I like all these ingredients separately, but I guess without a unifying, strong salad dressing, it did not achieve its potential. As an isolated entity, the treats at flo are beautiful and satisfies a mean sweet tooth, but if you compare it to the rest of the intensive dessert/cute cafe scene in Houston, it falls a bit short in the details with their macarons having cracks in them, for example. Their chocolate mousse is still something I'd be willing to go back for though! read more

Utter disappointment. I ordered 3 lattes, all of which were worse than what comes ready made in a bottle. I don't know if it was the beans, the technique or the milk, but they definitely do not represent coffee that a French bakery should serve. I tried six different breakfast pastries. Plain croissant, chocolate croissant, almond croissant, ham and cheese croissant, raisin croissant and one more I can't remember! The only one I'd order again is the chocolate croissant. The rest were not worth the calories. The pastries are oversized which I don't mind, except when they don't taste good. On top of bad coffee and bad pastries, service was so slow and I was the only one there. I don't get why they have to input my order on an iPad, then put it in the box, and then start the coffee. I would think it could be all done at once especially since different people are doing each task and I'm the only customer in the bakery. read more

Today i went to Flo Paris to buy 2 baguettes. We saw they were just making fresh batch therefore we requested the waiter to give us 2 of them. He showed us 2 baguettes on the display telling us they were also fresh baguettes from the day. We tried to make him understand that we would prefer the ones that were just coming out of the oven but he persisted in telling us to take the ones on the display. They have a great deal of options for breakfast and sweets for you to choose from. We had the delight of trying the Triple Chocolate Cake it was mouthwatering. Nice new place. Clean open kitchen. Real French people working there. I had a prepared Salmov Gravlax bagutte and a Nutella and strawberry crepe. The sandwich was OK but I want to put people on notice about something wrong on the menu. It says "All sandwiches come with chips and salad du jour." What they mean is "All HOT sandwiches..." I was pretty disappointed when I checked out and asked where the salad and chips are only to be told that was only hot sandwiches. I pointed to the word all on their menu but pretty much just got a blank stare back. It is a small gripe in an otherwise nice establishment. I imagine it will be fixed as this place just opened and they have a new menu every two months, I hope they read this and change the wording for the November-December menu. My guess is that I would like this place a lot more for a snack. The pastries looked amazing and I will definetly be back to try them out. Very nice coffee place. I visited on the third day of their opening and had the omelette crepe which was really good. The owners greeted us and a very cute little girl took out order. Another older girl had to confirm because the younger girl did not quite understand the difference between decaf and regular vanilla latte. :) This was cute but they probably need to get more efficient if they get more clientele. The place is small but spacious and nicely decorated, lots of light and the plants give it a fresh touch. The omelette crepe was full of flavor with a nicely done crepe and loaded filling of egg, cheese, chorizo and bacon. I was with someone else and we shared . One was enough for two but we don't eat much so if you're hungry you may finish one. We also shared a croissant au chocolate with was delicious with a think nice french chocolate filling. I ordered it toasted and thought it would be served warm but it was cold. Not bad but you may want to clear that up of you have a different expectation Overall a cute, yummy family owned little cafe. Will definitely come back. This is also a place where french lessons could be fun! Or little french music concerts with live musicians (call me!) I had such high hopes for this place when they were building. Upon opening I tried the crepe and a small desert, crepe was good but the desert (muffin) was a bit dry. Another time I tried the chef salad ($10) and it was okay but for $10 you would think they would use better quality lettuce. But it is big enough to fill up 2 people. For the prices they charge the seats could be more comfortable. Staff was friendly. Parking during lunch is terrible. Prices could be about 10% cheaper for the quality. read more

I was at the grocery store and started craving something sweet but nothing there was jumping out at me. I checked to find the closest bakery and Flo came up. I got an apricot sable and a fruit cream puff. These were by far the best baked goods I have gotten in Houston. Actually, they were the best I have found since leaving Northern California 15 years ago. I love French bakeries and will always stop in if I see one. Flo blows them all out of the water. I went with the chicken breast sandwich, coffee (capa), and a couple of items of that sweet stuff :) the sandwich was so good. Bread crisp, chicken moist, and full slices of crisp bacon. The best croissants I've had outside of France. Excellent quiche, sandwiches, and cappuccino as well. The service has always been great, and they are super friendly when my toddler son is with me. I haven't had the desserts, but they look amazing. This isn't Starbucks so you won't have your coffee and food in 3 minutes, but I haven't had to wait longer that 7-10 minutes any time I've been there. read more
