We are completing a challenging tiling job in our bathroom and had numerous questions. One of your associates, Carlos Hernandez, was very nice, very knowledgeable and helpful. When non-expert people like us take on home improvement work, it's important to get very precise details about what we need to do. Carlos was extremely patient, taking the time to answer everything until my girlfriend was satisfied she was making the right decisions. Update from my last review from my purchase in October. After contacting corporate, they said they would put a rush on my order and have it shipped to my house instead of the store since it is so far behind the promise date of 11/10/14. I received HALF of my order yesterday. They said somehow the other pallet of my flooring ended up on another truck and needs to be tracked (no estimated date of when I will receive it though) To top it all off, the pallet that they did drop off at my home contained 5 boxes of damaged product (boxes ripped open, floor scraped up, corners chipped, etc). I contacted the manager at Floor and Decor immediately and she said it left their warehouse in perfect condition. Great. read more

I cannot say enough about the service I received from Kale, Christian and the team. When I could not get service from the designer on staff Kale found me in an aisle trying to make some tough design decisions. Kale literally stayed with me while I basically figured out the design for two bathrooms and a tile finish for my fireplace. His input was perfect. They loaded everything for me and took such great care of me. I cannot thank Kale enough. read more

This is our second trip , our second DYI bathroom redo, and the second time Ben has helped us. This man goes above and beyond to teach and assist people who want to do their own projects. Selection is good, staff is useless. No one really offered help (at least no one who exuded any authority), girl at checkout had me go hunting down SKUs, then didn't offer a box or anything for the samples we were awkwardly carrying. As we were walking out a stack of ads, apparently grabbed with one of our stacks of samples, went all over the floor. We were 10 feet from the register and the girl just stood there watching while a couple people who just walked in tried to help. Unless we fall in love with one of these samples, we'll probably just go to Home Depot. read more

Bekah Linner, a designer at the Aurora store, was so helpful in selecting tile and all the necessary supplies for a bathroom remodel! Originally, my husband and I went to the Aurora store to look at tile and we were at a loss looking at all the choices. Then we met with Bekah and talked about our project, showed her some pictures and she took us around offering coordinating options. We were done and happy with everything within an hour or so. Currently, redoing our master bath. After going to several tile shops I went to Floor & Decor in Naperville and sooo happy I did. Max Cooper made this overwhelming task of picking out tiles (floor, shower) and grout soooo unbelievably easy! Max is the best designer! He took time showing me everything, providing his expertise and was so patient! If you are in the midst of doing any renos you need to go to Floor & Decor and ask for Max! Tried to go for a class on how to install laminate at 10am on a Saturday. My wife and I finally had a chance to both make it on a Saturday morning together with a busy day planned after. Arrived at 5 minutes to 10 and walked around. Building was void of workers. Finally someone asked to help us and pointed out where to go. We waited until almost 10:30 for the class to start but I think there was another couple asking the employee who was going to teach the class about different style and choices. Tried to ask when the class would start but I was just ignored. Manager apologized and suggested to come back next week for the next class. I'm not sure when we'll be able to make it back again together with work and other events to get ignored for another half hour. read more

This store has everything you could possibly need if you are renovating. We are completely redoing our master bathroom, and found most of our products here. They even have a design center. I have to give a special shout out to Ricardo, one of the designers, who has been immensely helpful. Not only does he have a great eye for design and detail, but he is extremely patient and explanatory with his ideas. Dear Store Management: I have major home construction going on at my primary place of residence and happened to come to your store located in Aurora off Route 59/75th Street. I asked one of your cashiers if they had someone who would be available to take sometime and help me with picking out flooring/counter tops. Let me begin by saying, that the young lady put me in touch with the RIGHT customer service agent. I worked with a young man named Elliot who took the time out of his day and helped me pick out the necessary items for my construction project. These days, I find it very hard to have good customer service. I wouldn't say Elliot offered good customer service, Elliot offered SUPERIOR customer service to say the least. To say it was good is sub par to the reality of EXCELLENCE. Elliot's Dynamic personality, knowledge, patience and most of all honesty and understanding will only bring more customers, more referrals to your store. Save your self the head ache and just go to homedepot or menards. They sell floor which in many situations is a pretty big project. They will tell you to buy extra and just return the left over. What they won't tell you is you only have 30 days to retuem. Now it is posted in small print by cashier but who really looks at that. So if you don't have your project is big don't to there. Wow! If you like DIY projects that involve tiling and flooring this store has a staggering about of tile for showers, back splashes, flooring and even outdoor applications. They also carry wood flooring, laminates and some vinyl plank flooring. They do in store demos and have some nice displays showing tiles in various room applications. The hardest part is making a decision because the selection is so huge. read more

Helpful, patient, knowledgeable. She answered all my questions, listened to my plans, made great suggestions and showed me all of the options available in the store. Ive been dreaming of my master bath remodel for over a year now. But when the time came for the actual remodel, I had a terrible time choosing tile for the shower and my bathroom floor. The box stores had a few of one thing in stock but given the quantity I needed, would have to mismatch the remainder from different stores.....and ultimately different dye lots. After having coffee with a friend, she suggested I try Floor and Decor. Honest to God, I walked in and saw the amount of tile and was instantly overwhelmed and I wanted to leave. Then! Kale stopped and asked if I needed help. He introduced me to Maxwell, the in-house design specialist, who in a matter of 30 mins, had me breathing again and thrilled with his recommendations. Not only was everything in stock, it was a third of the price! Very pleased and super thankful for people like Kale and Maxwell! read more

I guess the tile is pretty cheap....and they do have a deep inventory of the basics.....but man is the service poor. I guess they hire really young kids, pay them nothing and then mark down the tile. It's not the kids fault...they seem genuine in their desire to help. It's really more for experienced weekend warriors or contractors...if you're a novice you will want to be prepared for some frustration and long waits at checkout. read more

We are in the process of a home remodel and I have been in the Lombard and Aurora Floor and Decor locations at least 8 times over the last couple of months. Each and every time I receive warm, friendly knowledgeable help. These people rock! It is one of the few establishments I have been in where people seem happy to be there and eager to help customers. Plus, the tile prices can't be beat! We paid about 1/3 of the cost of other tile stores! read more

I am in the process of redoing my bathroom with tile. I chose a nice style of tile from Floor and Decor's Lombard store, but unfortunately they did not have enough of the trim that I needed. So I went to the Aurora store because they did have an adequate supply. Was I in for a shock. Compared to Lombard, this store is smaller, very unorganized and poorly staffed. The front of the store design studio displays are also limited. I went to one associate working a desk in the rear of the store and waited for over a minute for her to recognize me. She completely ignored me so I left. Then I asked for someone in the front of the store to help me. He was completely clueless. I knew more than him. I bought a sizable inventory from the Lombard store and would recommend them highly. Stay away from the Aurora store. read more

If I could give less than 1, I would. I purchased glass back splash tiles from this store (3) months ago and had a licensed tile installer that has been in the business over 30 years install it. Once the grout was dry, we saw that the tiles were not painted around sides, just the back, and therefore the mesh can be seen. I called Floor & Decor for help as my tiler states this is a defect. After (3) months, numerous emails and the (2) times someone called me back, the only comment I get is that they turned my information over to the manufacturer and that is it. They don't even have the decency to give me the manufacturer information so I can call them myself to discuss this. I have a very large kitchen and I'm out thousands of dollars, and these people won't even reply to me. Don't buy here or you will be stuck if something is not right!!!! read more

We were never told we were purchasing "utility grade." There was no signage to this effect. No consumer would purchase hardwood flooring for his home and want it to look like a quilt and have gaps between board pieces due to the uneven cut! Give me a break! Buyer beware! I wish I could give a positive review for this place, but unfortunately that just isn't going to happen... A few hours ago I went in there to buy some flooring and after spending over an hour in the store I ended up just walking out. The only employees who were doing anything in there were the ones in back driving forklifts around. The employees up front were pretty much useless and were more concerned with talking to each other or making themselves disappear somewhere rather than helping customers out. It wasn't just me who had this issue either since I saw three other people who were looking at flooring in the same area that I was leave the store for the same reason I did. Just think...the flooring I wanted was going to cost me 2500 dollars minimum. What if the other people who left were going to spend the same amount or even more than I was? Look at how much money this store just lost in the time I was there and imagine how much that can add up to if this happens a couple times each day... read more

The worst customer service. Defective product. Sold me defective flooring. Took them 41 days to offer a resolution, meanwhile, my house is in shambles, with no flooring in some rooms and half flooring in others. The solution they offered did not even cover my expenses for the flooring. They skipped reimbursement of the sales tax, and they want me to bear the cost of returning 1600# of flooring back to the store for a refund. They shipped it to me on a semi. I am a senior citizen and it will cost at least $500 for me to ship this back. I have been without floors, and furniture piled up against walls now for over 50 days. Today they basically told me to go ahead and hire an attorney. Why should I be out of pocket the cost to return the defective product to the store? My suggestion - shop elsewhere. read more
