Popped in quickly to check out tiles for our bathroom demo. Walking in at 6:55pm we were told they closed in 5 mins, that's fine, we took pics quickly and walking towards the door there was a woman sitting in I guess the consultation area and she said "we're closed you need to leave" and I said "we're just grabbing a quick pic" and she snapped "the door is the other way...that way, that way" as I walked closer to take a picture. I mean, I get you closed in 2 minutes, but no need to be rude to potential customers. We won't be back with that kind of customer service. read more

I have done a lot of business with Floor & Decor over the past 5 years and I was pretty happy but after the last time I am done with Floor & Decor and I will never buy anymore products from them ever again. The last time I made a purchase with Floor & Decor, I bought DuraLuxe Performance Vinyl Plank Flooring in July 2021 that got installed in October 2021and after 5 to 6 months it was installed it is already showing peeling and cracking of the top wood finish layer on at least one piece of flooring. I filed a warranty claim in early March 2022 but as of March 30, 2022 Floor & Decor is making the warranty process especially difficult by forcing me go through hoops including paying for a Certified Inspector that will cost me $250 to $500 out of pocket for an issue with a piece of flooring that would require removal of up to 49 sq. ft from the wall to replace it. There is no guarantee that after I pay for an inspection, that DuraLuxe will approve the warranty claim and I could get that $250 to $500 for the inspection reimbursed. It would be cheaper in labor just to pay my contractor out of pocket to remove the existing flooring and replace that piece than to fork out $250 to $500 for an inspection I may not get my money back for plus the cost to pay my contractor to replace the defective piece of vinyl plank flooring. I am very upset with Floor & Decor that they are trying to pull this stunt to discourage me from filing a warranty claim by making me pay out of pocket for an inspector that will cost more than it will to just replace the defective flooring piece. I've shopped at other companies for building materials and flooring before and never before until now have I ever had a company ever require me to pay out of pocket for a certified inspector to satisfy a warranty claim on a product that didn't hold up to the manufacturer's Lifetime Warranty. If they want an inspection they should be paying for the inspection for the Product instead of forcing customers to pay for one. I am done with Floor & Decor and I will take my business elsewhere. They have nice flooring but their warranty process is a disaster that just isn't reasonable or practical to average middle class customers unless $500 is something you consider very expendable that you don't care about. The possibility of wasting up to $500 at this time with no guarantee of getting that money back while inflation is high is a big deal to me and I won't put up with it and I don't know anyone who would put up with that BS. There are better places that offer nice flooring that don't pull stunts like this to discourage customers from filing a valid warranty claim. Shop elsewhere or be ok with risking the possibility of wasting up to $500 for a warranty claim inspection later. read more

My husband and I went into Floor & Decor with just a slight idea of what we wanted to do. Thank gooddnees for Deon! We worked with the nicest and most knowledgeable salesman today! He was even super patient and understanding with us when we realized that the tile we originally picked out was way out of our budget. He really knew then what was going to make us happy! He immediately gave us ideas and then knew all of the materials we needed, colors to choose, what shapes to work with, etc. when the decision was made. We will for sure seek out Deon again for our next project. If anyone reads this, find Deon! We were noticing so many rookie couples trying to do it on their own and they shouldn't have!! This place has a ton of floor and decor items. Haha, I couldn't help it. There are a lot of options for flooring from vinyl to basic laminate to 12mm laminate to hardwood. I didn't really spend much time in the decor section, but the laminate section was nice. You can actually take home a board sample for $5 and return it when you come back. That's a nice way to see how a floor might look against your wall or compared to other things in your house. The staff is friendly and they don't try to upsell you. They were very informative and were nearby to answer any questions as they came. They don't have everything in stock, but have access to their national warehouses so a lot of things can be ordered. Prices are better than the big box stores, and quality seemed just as good. I didn't end up buying anything, but it's definitely on my short list of places to go when I am ready. read more

This place beats out any big-box store for quality for the price and beats out any flooring store on price and selection...at least that I've ever seen locally. I've done three bathrooms, and foyer and a kitchen all in slate, plus three walls in rock tile...and 90% of the materials came from here. This location has a huge selection of really nice tiles at reasonable prices. I worked with Sally in the design center who did a really nice job helping me select some really good options for my bathroom remodel. I ended up purchasing boxes of porcelain tile that ended up having some defective stains. I came back to the store and the store manager, Brian, was incredibly apologetic and helpful in making sure we found the same exact tiles without any defective stains. Fortunately, it was just a strange random batch of defective tiles and I was able to exchange the same tiles. Incredible customer service experience working with Brian. I can't rave enough about my customer service experience throughout the process and my tiles ended up looking amazing in my bathroom. read more

This place is hit or miss. I flip houses so I'm always hunting for deals. I was really pleased with the prices but after opening up the containers I see that you get what you pay for. The boxes of hardwood flooring I bought were full of short pieces and scraps. Some were pretty busted and even cut into like they were returned. I would not buy flooring here again, but I have gotten good deals on tile. read more

Pretty decent selection of tiles and styles. I found tile for my basement and a bathroom as well as my kitchen and entry way and was only here for maybe 10 minutes. Prices aren't bad either. After running around wasting time at all the home improvement stores I finally found a tile I loved for my bathroom walls at Floor and Decor. Designer Marie Lee helped me pick out some floor tile to match them and it ended up looking great! I went back for some backsplash in the kitchen and Marie used the colors in my counter tops to help pick a winner again. She also took the time to find a perfect grout to go with it. The assistant manager Sarah in installation helped us tremendously with her special attention and knowledge and patience in helping us find what we were looking for. We both left feeling like we had the knowledge needed to complete our kitchen tile project. Bill went above and beyond our expectations by answering our questions that were specific to our project. After the class, he even took us to the section of the store where the tile project tools and ingredients were located. He helped us choose the tools and things we would need for our project. Discrimination. The worst place, i have made a round 10 times throughout the store to find some help. I knew what i wanted but they refused to help me saying busy. They were just standing or bugging the people who are just looking around. The tile, we got had a lot of defects but we already started putting it and had to use it. The quality was very bad. Some tile were crooked and not making straight. Also some were not flat, not sure why. read more

These guys are great! First time ever buying tile for my kitchen. Had an idea of what I wanted but didn't know what all I would need. Fred T came over and asked if I needed help. He walked me through the whole process. Explained everything to me. Answered all my questions. Told me the differences in products and what would work best for me. Really took time to help me and to make sure I was totally satisfied. He was an all star! The entire flooring department was very friendly and helpful. I felt like they really wanted me to be satisfied and enjoy my shopping. The cashier, Stephanie, was polite and friendly also. Everyone we had contact with not only seemed to know their jobs and products, but seemed to enjoy what they were doing. We bought our wood laminate flooring from Marco at the Arlington Heights, IL location. He was so helpful and so honest. After our floors were installed, we had many boxes leftover (our contractor told us the wrong amount). When we went to return it we found out that there was a problem with the bill and the way it was purchased. Marco called his manager, Steve, to help us out. Steve took care of our return and credited my card in full. They both went out of their way to help us out. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

I am sooo disappointed! I came in to return my extra flooring at the Lombard location, 28 box's to be exact and I was not past my 90 days and they would not return it!! The store manager made me wait about a half hour while he called the store I purchased it from to do my refund and they couldn't. I explained to him that I have my 3 kids in the car and how terrified I was just driving it over to that store and told him I will even pay for them to ship it to the other store!!! And he still wouldn't return it! I had to drive all the way to the aurora location and they returned it with no problem. Jennifer and some other girls helped me and they were awsome! I have already spent over $10,000 at this store in the past couple of months and that's how they treat there customers? Then come to find out from family members that he absolutely could have returned it but for some reason didn't want to??? I'm soooo annoyed with this store!! read more

I've been to this place four times in the last month... the first two times I was just looking, the third time was to buy, and the fourth was for a return. It's worth noting the first two times I went in, not a single person asked me if he/she could help me with anything. I didn't know if this is a positive (no hard selling, or pesky sales people), or negative (no help!). The selection is great. The third time I went, I knew exactly what I wanted to buy so I looked like I was on a mission! I got to the display of flooring I wanted... and there. was. none. my heart sank. I has just been there two days before and there were multiple pallets! I had to hunt down someone in the store so I could ask if they possibly had any in the back. After looking at the computer, he told me there were absolutely none left in the store, it was an item that they would never stock again (the last of its kind), and no neighboring stores (Arlington Heights) had it. I asked if shipping from a store out of state was an option and he brushed it off saying "yea, but shipping is really expensive." me: "Okay, sir, how much? I'm very interested in purchasing this flooring" him: "like $500" I wish I could explain how this interaction took place, it's like he had assumed I could not afford shipping so did not even give me an option. It was rude and all 5 minutes of my interaction with this gentleman was completely unhelpful. he was horrible. I thought (and said aloud) that I would go to lumber liquidators thinking they would have something comparable. I, however, proceeded to walk around the department a little longer, just in case there was some gem of flooring choice I had missed the first two times I was there to scope out the goods. I literally TRIPPED on a new pallet that had not been there a few days earlier, looked down, and it was the flooring I had originally went there to buy. SERIOUSLY?! I was floored. I immediately went to grab someone else from the store to help me load 'em up! This gentleman was extremely helpful, and made my experience go from a 1 star to a 2 star. I made sure to also point out to the original helper that I had found the flooring that he told me was "completely out of stock." him: "wow. yea. that's so weird. the computer said 0." I eventually left with my flooring, with great help from that second employee (I believe his name was Justin). Loaded it into the truck for me and everything! He saved my experience! The quality of the floor was... meh. I got a faux wood laminate (the click/lock) kind. A lot of the pieces chipped as I was installing them. Perhaps my rookie claws, but possibly shoddy quality. There were some pieces chipped in the box, as well. I returned once since my awful experience to return some of the flooring that I had over-purchased (the first guy said they were never going to get it again, so I thought it was best to buy a few boxes too many). When I went, they had multiple pallets of that same flooring. So much for never carrying it again. Why would he tell me that if he had no interest to sell it (or anything) to me in the first place? Anyway, the return process was easy. Since it was DIY, the flooring project took about 2 weeks, so be careful! Make sure you fall into that 30 day return policy window! read more

I spent $13,000 on floor, tiles, etc at this store. We decided to finish the basement floor and spent an additional 700. Turns out we were one box short. Bought 2 online and paid for online and sent my nephew to pick up. Yeah. It's been a couple of hours and they still cannot process the order even though I can show them my card has been debited and got the email it's ready. not the way their system works. How can Menards and Home Depot have it figured out? I now have been on the phone on hold for the last 43 minutes! Rude! I will never shop here again read more

Fellow DIYers, if you have projects that will need more than 30 days to complete, you're better off shopping for your tiles, wood flooring and others at Menards because this place will definitely NOT accept returns for swatches or worse, for excess materials you bought after the 30 day grace period even with a receipt. I also found most of the items they sell are discontinued items so pretty much, you're screwed if you didn't buy enough materials for your projects. Floor and Decor provided terrible customer service when we purchased defective flooring from them. They wasted our time and money and the time of our contractor. I called the store multiple times to work it out with a manager and was on hold for 20+ minutes without ever reaching one. I emailed the store manager three times before getting a response. While they agreed that the floor was defective and accepted the return, they needed even the floor that was partially laid to return to the manufacturer and offered no discount. They were notified of the defect on a Friday and said they had more floor in stock in the store (we had waited weeks for our order). I tried contacting them Friday to be sure the floor was in good shape and could be used - no response. I tried again Saturday - no response. My contractor arrived Monday to exchange the floor and found they had opened no boxes and all of the remaining floor was defective. He lost the entire day driving back and forth between the store when he could have just demolished the floor that was laid and made one trip. When I went to return the remaining floor I had been emailing back and forth with one of the store managers. He offered to work something out if I bought something else but they had nothing for me to buy. I had purchased and kept half the flooring that wasn't defective and had to go find another matching floor at another store. He never responded to my last message and met me when I came to return it, but he proceeded to argue with me and not even apologize for their failure to open boxes. He made a ridiculous excuse that they don't sell open boxes. However, if you walk into floor and decor you'll see an open box in front of every display for samples. I told him I expected them to open at least one box after they were informed that over 30 were defective, he refused to acknowledge they should have done that. He offered no discount and no apology. Skip Floor and Decor!! They cost us hundreds of extra dollars for a product that they refused to stand behind. I wish we had gone to a premium floor store, it would have been less costly and less unpleasant. A reliable retailer that stands behind what they sell and hold their manufactures accountable NOT at their customer's expense. read more

I went in here looking to purchase some tile with my wife for our new bathroom we WERE going to remodel. The reason I say "were" is because we became so overwhelmed by the terrible service that we were provided with. I am not going to name any names.... well okay maybe I will... Dan from the decorative department wasn't the friendliest. He acted like he didn't want to be there and gave me bad vibes. Me and my wife currently don't have a bathroom because we removed everything that was in there but refuse to go back to this location to get it done. He literally walked away from me while I was in midsentence trying to explain what I needed help finding.
