I've been shopping for tile for my wall for months and was about to give up and go with wallpaper. I decided to try the Floor & Decor in Lombard Il on Saturday afternoon. A young man name Perrius assisted me with picking out tile for my kitchen hallway. He is very professional and has a great eye for design. He walked back and forth throughout the store with me suggesting tile types, sizes, and colors. He showed great patience and did not waiver in providing excellent customer service to me and my husband. It is clear that he is well respected in the store by his co-workers and customers. Several customers waited patiently to ask for his advice while he was servicing us. He excused himself in the most polite way, answer their questions and came back to continue his service with my husband and me. After several months of searching, I found what I believe is a beautiful ceramic tile that will work for my home; I am going back to make the purchase at the Lombard store. Perrius was wonderful everyone in the store was friendly helpful and very professional. Lombard, IL is now my home floor and tile store. read more

We are having our bathrooms remodeled and I have gone to Floor & Decor several times picking out tile, grout, etc. They are fairly helpful but nothing like Jackie who helped me choose the grout for both bathrooms today. She took the time to pull out actual grout samples that looked like grout instead of just the paper pamphlet. We made several trips back and forth to the different tile selections I had made. She was amazingly helpful. She certainly deserves a raise because I would go back to have her help me if I need other items for this project or any other project. After receiving a call from our contractor that he could start our job 3 weeks early we ran over to Floor & Decor to find tile for our laundry room and basement bathroom. After only being in the store a few minutes, Tara came over and asked if we needed help! We shared our story, paint and carpet samples and described what we were looking for in the way of tile. She walked us through the store and showed five tiles in a variety of price range, all which would have worked well with what we wanted to accomplish. I recently bought bamboo hard wood flooring that I installed myself. They have a very large selection to choose from. I checked out a few places and buy many things from the big hardware stores. I found the product quality to be superior to what I saw at Home Depot, Menards and Lowe's. The price was excellent. I also thought the staff was very helpful during each of my visits. Every time we asked her for a suggestion, she basically said 'it's whatever you like' which basically defeats the purpose of consulting with an 'expert.' Very bad customer service. I went to buy couple of tile sample. At the check out counter, I waited 15 minutes. 3 people were helping a contractor return his stuff. They refused to open other counter to check me out. When I asked for store manager, they refused to call him. One of the person at the check out counter said he is one of the store manager and was very rude. I will try not to shop over there. read more

Buyer Beware!!!! many tiles sold here are irregular, sloppy seconds and leftovers. many have different die lots, different depths, cut unevenly, and chipped damaged edges. these issues are slight and may not even be noticeable until grouted. you will not be represented the same way HOME DEPOT or LOWES if there is a problem. you get what you pay for!!!!! HOME DEPOT or LOWES stands by their customers and their products - floor and décor does not!!! home depot and lowes are professional and have substantial clout with their vendors if one of their customers gets burned. HOME DEPOT and LOWES offered the same tiles for same price - what a huge expensive mistake going to floor and décor in lombard il. no one was around to help us. we wondered around and waited until finally after 45 minutes someone came to help, but did not know about the marble tiles. the check-ou woman was rude and annoyed when i asked a question about the return policy. i should have walked out right then and there. we purchased marble subway tiles for our kitchen. after tiles were grouted, all the edges showed pitting and chipping. this was not noticeable when looking at the tiles when purchased. after contacting chris the manger, he told us we could submit a claim after we obtain the following: a "certified tile inspector" report (which costs $400 non-refundable if claim is denied), 2 detailed estimates to remove and reinstall tiles, and our original receipt. the store would then determine if we can submit a claim. seriously? the general demeanor of the manager indicated that claims happen frequently in their stores. no one will file a claim, spend $400 on a certified tile report, only to be told they wont let a claim be filed. home depot and lowes would stand by their customers - no problem. do not shop at floor decor outlet in lombard il or any of their stores. if you think you are saving money, you are not. show around - you get what you pay for. stay away from floor and decor outlets. read more
