Normally I take customer service into account when I'm reviewing a place, but honestly when I'm getting some pastries to-go customer service isn't my number 1 concern- it's the quality of the pastries. Yesterday was the first time I went to this bakery. My mom and I were like little kids in a candy shop. We literally just about got one of everything. Sure, the lady that was helping my mom and I looked exasperated with us...but honestly who cares. She didn't say anything and we got our pastries and left, so it wasn't important. Now to what WAS important, the pastries. OMG so fresh and SO good. We got one of everything, as I said earlier, just to see what we liked the best so we'd know what to order next time. My favorite by far was the filo dough with the date in the middle. They brought them fresh out of the oven for us and the were delectable. Honestly, they were the best persian/armenian pastry I've ever had, and I don't normally even really like dates! Everything else was great. I wish I knew the exact names to things so I could go more into detail, but another favorite of ours was the almond and honey little mini-bar type things. I think they may have been the #12? They were amazing. The prices on these pastries were unreal as well. $5 per pound?? We got a huge box full of fresh random pastries for $7??? Amazing. Also: If you're a fan of Persian ice cream, (which if you haven't tried you NEED TO GO TRY BECAUSE IT'S AMAZING) come here and buy a jug of the Mashti Malone's ice cream. Oh man, I honestly freaked out when I saw that they carried this ice cream, it's so much more convenient then driving to the La Brea Mashti Malone ice cream shop! They have the rosewater flavor as well as the saffron rosewater flavor, just in case anyone cares. So to wrap up this rambling review: 1. go to Flor De Cafe bakery 2. who cares if they're rude, the pastries are great/fresh/priced well 3. get the Mashti Malone ice cream. read more

This place has been remodeled recently and its probably the most authentic of Persian/ Arminian pastries. I cant say much about service since its a retail shop and the personnel is helping you when its your turn and really cant expect much from the staff. I like this place because it takes me back to the flavors of the old country such as: rose water, cardamom, vanilla, etc. I normally buy their already boxed cookies and pastries which by the way are the most reasonable priced and they are not trying to jack up prices ridiculously. I love this place and any chance I get I will go there again and again as long as they stay reasonable. No flavor, no quality whatsoever the good old days if there ever where any are long past. I came in and the place was filthy and unkept. I noticed rodent droppings in the corners of the cases and it was disgusting. I always drive all the way from Woodland Hills to their store around fall season just to buy fresh Dates, the quality is unique and price is the lowest in the market. Always buy a box of 10 pound to have it for while. One interesting thing that happened today: when I got there I did not see the box I wanted then I told them that I drive from far just for their fresh Date, so one of the store staff asked me to wait and after few minutes she came with many boxes and asked me to check and choose, that was how they take care of their customer. Yelp Rocks... as if you didn't already know that. Let me tell you another reason to share the love on Yelp, I searched for an authentic Bakery in L.A. for Persian new Year. This is an Armenian Bakery, but has a wide and wonderful delicacies from other regions. I went in for cake and discovered the meat pies, candies, breads and MORE! There are dried fruits, spices, etc... The staff answered all my inquisitive questions. If you are lucky to be there when the racks of hot bread are rolled out, the aroma will make you swoon... Seriously, we were there to get dessert and left with a variety of items. One delight is the discovery of the rose petal covered pistachio candy, it's chewy. Items to get when stopping in, a variety of desserts by the slice, meat pies, traditional Armenian flat bread stuffed with veggies (spinach) $3, candies and Persian ice cream! Went and purchased their packaged Bakhlavas along with a lot of other stuff when I opened the package of bakhlava the smell of left over oil was the first thing I could smell real bad and strong oily smell it smelled like when something with lots oil sit aside bad smell and then I said let me just test it and when we tasted it , it tested bitter like something oily that stays for a long time and it's time to throw away I called them the same day and they asked me to call tomorrow to talk to a manager or owner so I called and told her about the item she stated that it is impossible and we change the bakhlava daily which to me it was a lie because of what I smell and tested and she told me she can not exchange or rerun the item I never had any problem with them before but this lady was basically calling me a liar and I'm lying just to remind you the bakhlava was only $12.00 the feeling that she gave me and her customer service I don't think I will be there anymore you just lost a royal customer read more

Usually a tradition to visit after eating a Raffies ( it was 5 years since I had been, other review in my yelp), I wanted to bring my parents here to grab some sweets. At $7.00 a lb for cookies and assorted balaclava and other middle eastern treats, I liked it. I wanted to get other pastries like Napoleon, or fruit tarts, but without proper coolers in tow in would not withstand the drive back to OC. Next time. Best bakery in Glendale, and I don't have much of a sweet tooth but this place is amazing. I get a big box of mixed little cakes. I make sure to get them first thing in the morning because they are baked fresh. My favorite little cake is the small rolettes. It has sort of a vanilla flavor to it. And it's the perfect size! My heart truly aches and breaks for the staff and owners of this wonderful bakery. The place has an unbelievably long and multicultural history and presence! Their pricing, quality, flavor and authenticity of their pastries are all wonderful. Every refrigerated dessert tastes fresh made. If you literally wanted a baked item they were out of, the staff knows when the next batch is coming from the bakery and would say 'come back at noon or 1pm or 2pm' and the timing was always accurate. This place is so popular that around any major holiday, e.g. Christmas, for every car leaving there are 2 or more cars waiting. That's not a complaint, it's proof of what a great bakery has. I did notice that they seem to have a high turnover rate of their customer-facing staff.
