I just got daily fresh made bread from Shareza bakery in Glendale and there was a hair in the bread. I threw away the whole thing and I called the bakery to talk to a manager about this but they don't have any supervisor. It very disgusting and I will never go back there. This place is also known as Shahreza. There is parking on the right hand side of the store. They have lots of Persian products and sweets. It's known for its bakery. They have an assortment of bread too but I didn't try them. When you walk in you get a whiff of that sweet bakery smell that just puts a smile on your face. I love that smell. The layout of the store is a bit awkward and too busy and also not very organized. The pastries are all very tasty. If it's your first time here and you haven't tried Persian sweets, just get one of each and try an assortment of them - you won't be disappointed. There are lots of options to choose from. I tried bought probably 10 different kinds. My favorite was the walnut cookie. I didn't care for their dried fruit though - it had a funky taste. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I really hope the owner reads this and makes the necessary changes. My family has been coming for YEARS! even before I was born and we love the bread but we hate the customer service!! Everytime we come we are discriminated and looked at like we are beneath them. If you are next in line they will help someone who looks Armenian before they help you or they will ignore you and leave you waiting. The pastries and and bread are amazing and delicious but what good is it if you don't feel welcomed and wanted when you walk through those doors? The owner and his wife are lovley people and even send the girls to go help when they are slacking and ignoring customers. I would like to thank Flor De Cafe Bakery for donated a generous amount of cookies for a poker fundraiser held for Artsakh on October 17th. I am being very generous by giving them a one star. I ordered a cake for a very special occasion, I went in person and showed them photo designs of what I wanted. They said they will make it, I was shocked and surprised to see the cake on day of my occasion. I didn't have s choice but to take the cake. Later I went and complained, the manager was so rude and unprofessional. The cake was ugly and didn't taste good at all. Not going back to them, no more. Walked in to make pastry purchase. was interested in fruit tart.saw employee take 2 existing tarts in the display to the back and bring it as new. only reason I knew that it was the same tart was that it had a clumped up drizzled syrup on it. employee insisted it was new and I thought her what I had seen. came home and refrigerated the tart. opened it the next day and it had rotten. called the bakery and they said it could have rotten between the time in went from their bakery to my fridge. what an explanation. obviously the tart was old and it couldn't rotten that quick. this isnt the first time that their service and quality have been an issue.they always try to cover their butts with excuses. never will I go there again. dont understand how this place is still in business read more

This is my favorite Persian/Armenian bakery in Glendale. The fresh nazouk and gata pastries here are TO DIE FOR. I'm serious. I get the low sugar one because I don't like overly sweet pastries. They are just the perfect amount of sweetness for your morning cup of coffee. I always buy extra to take home to my mom on the east coast. The worker said do not take it if you do not like it. Flor De Cafe is a true gem. It's very close to the 134 freeway exit. The store has its own parking lot with plenty of space. The store is big and has a plethora of pastries, cakes, teas and other indulgences. I was quickly greeted by friendly workers in the pastry section and my order was quickly filled. I tried a sample of fruit tart, which immediately unleashed delicious flavors. I knew this was going to be my new spot for Middle Eastern desserts. Very rude people! Management is to blame. They treat their employees like crap so the employees treat their customers like crap! No one will ever smile in this place... The cakes taste like water, specially the fruit ones. Not good at all... even when you cut it you'll be able to tell thats its very watery! Everything you find in the refrigerator is not worth buying! stay away from any pastries that are refrigerated. Never buy anything on Sundays, its the leftovers from the week. When they give you your "dry" pastries make sure they aren't mixing them. sometimes they will mix new ones with old ones and hope you dont notice the difference! When you taste is, you'll know what im talking about. Their Gata, and Nazook are the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. I always make sure they are still hot when I get it, because thats the only time I trust it is new. Freshly baked! Horrible place. It's called bakery, but I believe the only thing they don't sell is meat... they sell cheese, sausage, dairy products, and some other stuff that has NOTHING to do with bakery. Additionally the store is a mess. People shove their hands in all nut products to try, or throw the scoop inside the buckets, so the scoop handle dives inside nuts...this is truly disgusting. I wonder how this place hasn't been closed due to non sanitary condition and appearance. Guys this is horrible. The floors are always sticky and dirty. The worst place for depending on your party cake. I had ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday they delivered it 3 hours late. Who does that? Armenian bakery with a wide but uninspired selection of pastry. The fancy pastries (cakes, napoleons, etc) are in coolers lining the wall and they look dried out and stale. I'm guessing pretty low turnover on these items... The other pastries are mostly nondescript -- dry cookies and crispy breads and such. The only things that tempted me were the savory pastries, stuffed with beef or chicken or cheese or spinach. I tried one of each. They were warm, so I know they were fresh, but they were still kinda tough and chewy like day-olds. The spinach pastry was the only one I'd buy again. They have a large selection of bulk nuts, candies, dried fruit and candied fruit, etc. I bought a bag of roasted macadamia nuts that looked good but turned out to be stale and flavorless. They tasted like they'd been sitting in the bin for many weeks. I should've popped a couple in my mouth while no one was looking and saved myself from buying a bag that I later tossed. They make a very limited selection of baklava, just the most basic types. The ones I bought were okay, but heavier than I like. They also make Armenian halvah which is made from flour instead of the sesame paste I'm familiar with. I was curious to try it but found it's really just sweet paste. Meh. I did like the Mikado cake that's sold in aluminum trays alongside the baklava. It's dense and moist, with subtle flavors and not too sweet. Unlike the baklava and halvah it doesn't have their label, so I'm not sure if they make it themselves. I didn't have a problem with rude staff like some yelpers have mentioned, but business was quiet when I stopped in so maybe I caught them when they weren't busy and frazzled. I did get some odd looks though. I think they're used to an almost exclusively Armenian clientele. read more

Once upon a time the parking for this place was a tiny but spirited battleground where bloodshed was likely at any given moment. They then expanded to a slightly bigger parking area and it just became a slightly bigger battleground - customers are still too slow driving in, too slow deciding where to park, too slow driving out and generally inconsiderate all round, so go to this place on days that you are feeling particularly patient and zen, so you won't be drawn into any arguments. Inside you will find a huge range of sweets delightfully damaging to your health, and of course mostly quite delicious. The various pastries, cakes and dessert items are all pretty tasty. Their mixed nuts are damn great- though not cheap. There isn't much room to move around by the way and the place is almost always busy, so be warned. Since customers are mostly uncivilized, so are the servers. They are randomly irritable, bored, unfriendly, fed up with their lives, indifferent, unprofessional and unpleasant - all the great qualities you would want in your kids basically! But their stuff pretty much flies off the shelf with no effort, so they don't have to worry about improving their attitude, nor remodeling the place which is so firmly stuck in the dark ages I'm surprised they don't still use an abacus... And so 3 stars it is, based on the overall experience that sometimes truly borders on the miserable, otherwise the quality of their products deserves a higher rating. read more

My favorite is the napoleon and the Persian raisin cookies.
