I've eaten here twice, the arroz con pollo was not good, the rice was starchy, & clumpy, the chicken was tender. The grilled chicken with onions was ok, but needed more flavor, the black beans, rice and platanos were very good, as was the service. read more

Sad to have been taken for my money. The menu says one price but they charge you another. On the menu 1 tostada of ceviche costs $8.99 so I ordered 4 but after finishing my food I was charged $13.99 for each and I was also charged $5 for one small avocado and was told that the prices on the menu were wrong. The restaurant knows how they conduct business and taking people for there money this way is wrong. I have never complained on a restaurant but I am even going to notify the Better business bureau. There is absolutely no excuse. I'm sure if someone were to try and walk out on there bill, they would most likely chase them down and prosecute them. read more

What we ate was decently flavored but not great. Grew up on Cuban food. Am Cuban. These people were rude and not friendly to us. Not a very Cuban vibe. I also ordered Bistec do pollo Empanizado and was handed chicken that was pan seared in butter. No breading there. It was so weird. Bistec empanizado is breaded and sprinkled with lemon and lime and garlic salsa. This was something completely wrong. Maybe some sort of plain fricase. I ordered take out on Friday evening thinking it would take forever, to my surprise I was walking out the door in less that ten minutes with two bags of the best smelling lemon garlic chicken. The place was clean, the servers were kind and the food was amazing. It truly was some of the best local food I have ever eaten. The potatoes were so flavorful we wondered how they make them. The chicken was moist and garlic/lemon tangy and the saffron rice was so great. I ate way too much. I will be eating there again soon, that's for sure. read more

Tried to order for a well established company I work for and spoke with a lady named Vita. She was condescending and not helpful at all. I was going to order for a large group and even gave specific menu information. She kept asking me to come and do the order instead. I spoke Spanish to her and tried to be specific, but she said I was confused with the order, She was unorganized and proceeded to tell me that I did not know what I wanted to order. I told her I was specifically ordering from the "Facebook" menu. She was not even looking at the menu. She started raising her voice and I asked her to please not do that. She said delivery would be $50-$60!! We are in the same city!! Ridiculous!!! Horrible customer service, she did not allow me to speak to manager or owner. We eventually hung up and I will never order from their restaurant no matter how good their food is. Too much of a hassle to order from them. The price was very good for what you get, but I wasn't super impressed with the Milanesa (forget what Cubans call this). The breading was a not particularly crispy but the flavor was good. The sides were tasty. I also ordered the espresso which was good, and very reasonably priced.My friend got the cuban pork sandwich, which looked really awesome. The service was great and the waitresses were very nice, smiling and attentive. All in all, I will be back. read more

Some good and some bad here.... The Tostones are to die for - nobody does them better!! They are HUGE, plump and fresh! And the Mojo sauce is excellent. The Maduros are ripe and sweet, well done, bravo! Most of their dishes are flavorful and authentic - however, the portions are small and the prices do not match what you get. These guys seem to be the most expensive of the Cuban/Dominican places we've been too in CA. Their beans are Awful. The black beans taste like they are out of the can and their red beans were most definitely NOT authentic, more like mexican frijoles. Stuffed Potatoe Balls (Papa Rellenas) - they were good but not awesome. The Picadillo is some what bland and not very authentic. I ordered the "Dulce De Leche Cortado" and it is pretty good. I asked for Olive Oil and it was certainly NOT virgin or extra virgin, that is simply inexcuseable for any Cuban/Dominican Restaurant. My over-all feeling is that the kitchen staff may be confusing cuban and mexican from time to time. Come on people lets get it right! Have receipe book and be consistant. Ohhh and by the way I have never ordered Lechon Asado (Pork) and received "SLICED PORK" before my visit here. Sliced pork is for a Cuban Sandwich only, Sorry!! read more

This restaurant always serves authentic tasting Cuban food. They offer lunch specials Mon-Fri and the prices are very reasonable for the portions of food they serve. My business is nearby so I like to call ahead to order and the food is served at my table within a few minutes of sitting. The staff is very nice and the food is A+ read more

Walked in on Sunday evening and it seemed a little busy no one greeted us or acknowledged us so I figured it was due to the fact they seemed busy. At one time in my life I was fortunate enough to live 2 blocks away from Versailles. I was a hard core devotee. But then I moved away and did not eat there anymore. Then I stumbled upon Florida. Wow! This Cuban restaurant gives Versailles a run for their money. I personally think this place is better hands down. Sure it's in the 562 for you Westsiders, but it is the bomb diggity. Their portions are reasonable and I always end up taking left overs. The wait staff is very friendly and you don't usually have to wait very long for your food...under 15 minutes. Their ropa vieja, black beans, rice, platanos are yummy to the tummy. I also recommend ordering a papaya con leche to drink. You can also get a half pitcher of red wine for $6.95 (between 2 people, you can get a good 4 glasses each!) Its really low-key with a home-y vibe. You just feel comfortable wo having to worry about how you look without compromising flavor,quality and price. We tried to order a cappuccino from the Cubano cappuccino machine. The elderly waitress told us that they don't have any of the coffees on the menu available. She offered us Nescafe. We asked for a seafood Entrée that did not contain dairy. She rudely pointed to the seafood section of the menu and said there are your choices. We asked for a beer. She told us no food order no beer. So we had a to go coffee and left. So much for a good first time impression. 1 star is too much.
