I will preface this, I get the same thing every time (come every couple months), the chicken fried steak breakfast, lol. The chicken fried steak here is really good. I keep coming back for it. Hashbrowns and eggs are alright. The biscuits and gravy are really good (the gravy is tasty). Sometimes the biscuits are dry though, which sucks. The portion size is big for the CFS breakfast, and it' comes out to $10. I should try other stuff on the menu, one day. Maybe the other stuff is not as good, we shall see, haha. Saw this place as a "nearby location" and thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered the three meat omelette (bacon, ham, and sausage) with mixed cheese on top. The order came out in a timely manner and the food was hot (as expected). To my surprise, my omelette came with a side of their "famous" biscuits and gravy so I was excited to give them a try. The omelette was good, with plentiful amounts of each meat throughout the omelette. The potatoes, contrary to other reviews on this place, were not greasy but rather dry. Ketchup was necessary to make them bearable for me. Now onto the famous biscuits and gravy... I was highly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a connoisseur of them by any means but they really had little to no flavor. The biscuits underneath the gravy were warm and soft which was good but the gravy tasted almost plastic. Found this place on a whim, our normal breakfast place was shut down so we called Flo's and they were open. Got seated immediately, Angel was our server and offered us coffee immediately which was very good. They had a breakfast special "nopales" which is cactus with eggs. We were living on the edge, why not. Great choice too! Their house salsa was surprisingly very good too. Biscuits n gravy were also tasty, just needed pepper. The house potatoes also tasty. My wife and I are not from the area, but we're looking for a late lunch option while in town. Flo's had a good a rating so we decided to give it a try. The food was very good, especially the strawberry cake. The service was also good I don't think that either my nor my wife's drinks ever got empty before refilling. This place is seriously underrated. It is soo good! Prices are fair and their quality is just spot on. My family is from the south so I've had my fair share of biscuits and gravy and this place is one of the best I've had! The majority of their food reminds me of good old country cooking and everything really tastes homemade and not pre packaged. The staff is very friendly as well. They're also very accommodating to kids. The only reason I took off a star is because sometimes when I call to place a to go order, they dont answer the phone. If i could give this place 0 stars i would!!! The food was absolutely disgusting. At least what my husband and I ordered. I got the sirloin asked for it to be well done. When i cut into it blood squirts out. And no it wasn't just juices it was blood the center was still red. My husband asked for their pot roast, that thing looked and tasted like dog barf. Because yes he asked me to taste it and see what i thought or he was just not feeling it. We sent it back. He asks for the prime rib instead and he wanted it medium rare. That was just not cooked at ALL!!!! it was completely red and bloody. I don't know how these people have customers. The only good thing i had their was a french fry i picked off my sons plate. But Props to server for trying her hardest to make a situation better, unfortunately nothing could salvage the bad food. UPDATE AS OF 9:05PM My husband has now become violently sick. We are fans of good breakfast places. Since this place had a good yelp rating we decided to take the drive and come here. Food was served in generous portions and it was great. We had an omelette, ham steak and pancakes, and huevos Rancheros. Absolutely no complaints on the food or the friendly greeting once we walked in the door. I used to love this place.... been coming here for years but this morning was so disappointing. I truly hope the food stays improving. I ordered country fried steak with eggs and home fries. The potatoes were so greasy when I moved the plate there was a ring of oil on the table. The customer service is awesome, they've always been very solicitous but this will not overcome the poorly done meal that was brought out. Please if this gets read by the Flo's owner, please try to get the food back on point. Till then I'm not recommending this spot for breakfast. read more

I was contacted by the manager Tim the day after my first post. He wanted to know what happened and why my review was low. We discussed it and he found what happend and appologised for the incident. He said he would credit me the difference the next time I came in and to ask for him. I went in today and we had a pleasant exchange and I orderd something that made up the difference. All the while Tim was very concerned to make things right and I believe he went above and beyond to make me happy. Friends took me here for my Bday dinner.....first time here and it was pretty good. Place is definitely as others say, a bit dated, but not so that you think you just walked into a 70's restaurant. Alot of old folks here, but thats to be expected for a home-style diner type place. Staff is very nice and attentive. Our waiter was more then willing to modify some things for us. I had the American Burger meal......1/2lb burger with the normal fixings along with mushrooms and bacon(great bacon!!). The burger was HUGE and ok....ordered med. rare....got well done...and a slice of good apple pie. Ordered my side of fries with chili/cheese n onions......pretty darn tasty..... Every1 enjoyed their meals and the serving sizes were so big, we all took about 1/2 our meals home with us..... If I lived closer, I'd be coming here every week. However, they need to work on customer service. We sat down and were not greeted by anymore for 10 minutes. It was also very slow so I don't understand what was going on. While visiting the neighborhood that Im potentially considering home, I stopped by this place to check out the menu for breakfast and found a lot of items on the menu yet no pics. The place was packed so I looked around at other folks plates and ended up ordering just the standard breakfast. Overall result ....eh, it was ok.
