The class is definitely challenging, but in a fun and motivating way. You feel pushed without feeling overwhelmed, and it really makes you want to come back and keep improving. The ad stated limited spots so it was a sign that people were signing up and when I clicked on the link, it appeared as if there weren't any left.. However, I was fortunate and received a call back. Again, I was skeptical because FB ads are tricky and that's to the general look of ALL ads I saw on FB. I was contacted a day or so after directly and appointed a time to have a consult. The place was tricky to find but it's tucked away where other warehouses are and sporting facilities. Who knew there was an area back there. Anywho, after consulting and learning about the type of exercise, the time offered, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and signed up. Again, I was very hesitant because I was nervous about group exercises and fearful of appearing unfit or ashamed but I took a leap of faith and said , Yes! Jumping ahead, the people are SO welcoming and the trainers are absolutely supportive and very easy to speak to. Yes, they encouraged me to push hard but it was the kick in the butt I needed. The coaches were never pushy, they were attentive to my limits and personal goals. Lindsay and Sean were who conducted the classes and they both complement each other well in terms of personality and gym environment. Pricing.. yes it can be viewed as expensive but it is not quite different in comparison to the amount you would spend on a personal gym trainer. Now if you're looking for more of a gym such as Crunch or YMCA where you are mainly independent or have a different fitness focus, then you may doubt membership here. This gym is VERY diverse in workouts, uses body exercises, and lifts. Each day offers something different and that is why I absolutely have yet to be bored from it. The workouts are challenging but you are never asked to go beyond your comfortable limits both physically and emotionally. The gym itself is just very fun, cool, and casual. They have a range of equipment from weighted balls to squat racks. If you like the pump, the burn, and sweat I believe you will enjoy the experience. Nutrition advice is offered as well and more independent plans if wished for. The facility has been open for I believe 6 or 7 years now which is a fantastic sign. The vibe is very familyistic and everyone truly is impacting. I would recommend the place to all of my friends and family just to at least give it one day's try. Anywho, I love it!

My husband and I recently moved to Richmond and have been going for a few months…read more I was very new at rowing before attending CityRow classes, but after the first few classes - I felt like I was getting the hang of it. All of the instructors are helpful and willing to break down the motions for you to make sure you're doing it correctly. It's a great full body cardio and strength workout, isolating muscles I was apparently ignoring in my home workouts. You can get the technique down with the first few classes and CityRow offers the first three classes free, which is so generous! There are a variety of levels there every class and I don't feel like I'm judged. Everyone there is so friendly and encouraging. No reason not to try it out!

What better way to celebrate than to stay healthy (or to try at least?). The exercises were challenging, but he emphasized to do what worked best for us and our bodies. Our instructer was awesome, great personality, kept the class fun and interesting. Most of us were beginners but he told us to do what we can, dont try to out do the person next to you. We did so much.. butpees, threw a heavy ball up the wall while doing squats, sit ups, pull ups, pull ups on rings, lunges and more. I loved the flow of the glass although there were moments I had to break, I still kept up! This crissfit gym is hidden but is a great place to work out!

One of the other staff members asked me to wait and to speak with the GM Sasha. Later in the evening I asked to speak to her but she was gone for the day so I asked for another manager, who happened to be Janet! She was eager to have another staff member cancel it for me without even making an attempt to apologize or ask me to reconsider. Before leaving the gym, I asked for Sasha to reach out to me the next day, but when 3:30 pm rolled around I had not heard from her so I called her. She didn't even make an attempt to ask what had happened or why I was so angry that I asked to cancel my membership so quickly. She also knew exactly who I was because she never even asked for my name which means she had gotten the message about reaching out and chose to ignore it. I don't want to bash all the staff as most are very nice and welcoming, but I would have expected more from the club leadership. I would also note that if your considering joining the men's locker room Sauna has not worked for years now and the club leadership doesn't seem to have any plan or intention on fixing it.

Second, if the outside temperature does influence the pool's temperature, then why is it still cold (83 degrees vs 86 degrees)? The shower on the men's side is still closed due to an unsafe and inoperable light fixture. The sauna has been closed for months. And, now the hot tub has an inoperable piece. Maintenance has to be a top priority to keep customers happy. Too many of my swimming buddies are going elsewhere.

I had been to the location a couple of years before and was happy with it. The problem started at the beginning when the instructor gave a passionate plea to speak up about all the awful stuff going on in the country. I ignored it. To be fair I was happy with the class tempo, music, and degree of difficulty. The class ended with a repeat of political activism and shaming if you might not hold those same opinions. I quietly left class but the instructor was at the desk as I put on my coat. I quietly told her I know she noticed I left early, and that I was used to yogis that left us uplifted with quotes from poets, philosophers , or other yogis. That I felt she was giving a political lecture. She vehemently said " Yoga is political". But i feel it is spiritual not political, or at least should be. I was a drop in so maybe the members like this but if you plan on going to this location just be for warned. I was so put off and mad instead of the feeling of love and peace yoga has brought me over the years.

Not only is her review very misleading (because I was there at said class) but she wasn't honest about her behavior (which was embarrassing for her). Every class begins and ends with motivational quotes. Take what resonates and leave what doesn't. Just because something isn't relevant to her life (how lucky) doesn't mean it isn't for someone else. She did not leave quietly, I got to hear her huff & puff and leave class early. I thought that was the end of it but she waited out in the lobby to confront the instructor & raised her voice enough about her Asian American family that came here "the right way" (crazy to assume someone else didn't) that she had to be asked to leave. Now I attend Bruna's class almost every week & always leave feeling empowered & strong. She is an amazing instructor & knows her stuff & I see it every class with how many members love her & look forward to her class.
