    Brussel sprout and kale salad
    George R.

Indianapolis is one of the hardest cities to find healthy options in. If you're an Indy native...you know in your heart this is true. This place is quick, easy, and delicious. The price points are decent. The staff are friendly. Add this to your list if you usually stay at home because anything "healthy" you eat while out is bland, or prohibitively expensive.

I returned to Flower Child on a Sunday evening around 6:30 pm. I was kind of surprised how busy it was. After experiencing the food again I can understand why! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Somehow they read my mind and knew I was craving a red sangria! I was interested in the Avocado Caesar salad as well as the avocado hummus and soup of the day a Dukka curry. However I decided to load up on protein instead with the Steak Plate. It comes with two sides. I had the Parmesan broccoli which was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. I also had the sweet chilli glazed sweet potatoes. Yum! My friend had almost the exact same order but with the kale salad. The decor is adorable and cheerful. The walls are lined with colorful artwork and it's a fun atmosphere. Even though it was busy we didn't have to wait long for our food. Looking forward to going back to try more things soon!

Flower Child is so consistent. Perfect spot for lunch! If you're in a pinch, this is the spot for you. It's always busy when I stop in, and I get my food no more than 10 minutes later. Lately, my go to has been either the steak or salmon plate with broccoli and Mac and cheese (or sweet potatoes). Special moment for the broccoli: it's charred and then topped with Parmesan. 10/10. * parking can get tricky here!

Stopped in here to give it a try as I was in the neighborhood. There was a small line to order when I walked in but it moved quickly. Then I received a table number pick and they brought my meal to me. I ordered the veggie plate and was able to choose three vegetarian sides. I ordered roasted Brussels sprouts, red chile glazed sweet potatoes, and kung pow cauliflower. I really did not care for the glazed sweet potatoes but the other two veggies were good. Cute place with all the artwork on the walls and it was clean. I saw a few other things on the menu that I would not mind trying so I am sure I will stop in again. They were definitely busy and I had to park in the lot behind Culinary Dropout and then walk back over.

On my way to a Yelp event in the same plaza, I spotted this healthy restaurant option. I already ate dinner but decided since I was in the area that I would order takeout leftover for lunch. I had never been to a Flower Child so I needed to understand their sauces. They let me try them. I decided on chicken without that accompanied sauce, red chili glazed sweet potato with sesame seeds, and the unique roasted brussel sprouts. I am a sucker for items not typically served. It was a little costly for the portion. Chicken was a little dry, but the guy said they could not provide a sauce I like. A few sides interested me so I might return for it or at least see their rotating menu. One of the added perks of exploring while going to Yelp events in areas not on my radar.

We rode our bikes to the No Kings protest here and popped in to grave a bite before hitting the Monon to go back. We absolutely loved this place, from the menu to the furniture and the environment which reminds us of Southern Cal. The food is farm-to-table fresh and so delish. Amy ordered the Mother Earth Bowl and I had the Spring Ingredient Salad with grilled chicken. We also tried the classic hummus first. Enjoyed the sun-dried tomatoes and olives with the natural grain pita wedges. We could use one of these spots in Carmel and Westfield. Do you guys franchise....? Peace out.

Organic veggies and unique entrees, I am SOLD! Cauliflower risotto was just divine, it had the right texture and flavor and I couldn't make out there was no grain. I tried the chopped vegetable salad and just the ginger miso vinaigrette gave such an earthy and delicious texture and flavor. The toasted sesame seeds combined with snap pee radish and cucumber added the right amount of crunchiness and deliciousness! This place is perfect, there were a variety of shrimp, chicken and meat options too. Great find!

Glow bowl with chicken. It was flavorful but I worry it may have been too salty for me.

Everything here is too too salty. I've had tinnitus after each of the three times we've eaten here. I've tried ordering different things. All salty. It's a bummer because my kids really like it. Especially the gluten free mac and cheese and the steak and the broccoli. I must give credit for the very tasty gluten free baked goods. That is an accomplishment. Restaurant is clean. Staff friendly. Just wish I could actually eat the food.

My salad was so delicious I could have licked the bowl!

I loved this beautiful restaurant. It's light, airy and whimsical . Great variety of photos and art covering almost every available space. We had 23 people in our group, and they were more than accommodating, moving tables together, helping with our orders and getting us anything we asked of them. It's so fun!

Cute spot with delicious food that leaves you feeling healthy after eating :) we ordered takeout for our long drive and were so glad we stopped at flower child! The corn quinoa and sweet potatoes were my favorite as well as their Arnold palmer and fresh kombucha! Wish we lived closer to this place.

    Kung Pow Cauliflower
    Lynn N.

Quality food and the flavors really sing. The Mother Earth bowl was very good and filling. I especially like the grilled char of the veggies. Flavors were balanced mixed together. The Kung Pau Cauliflower was also good. It was savory with a bit of sweet flavor, and not spicy. The outdoor seating is covered, making it cool and shady on a warm day. The indoor dining has a nice ambiance too. Employees were friendly.

Chicken plate with Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese

I went to Flower Child for lunch. I didn't know what type of food they had, but it simply looked beautiful from outside and it just attracted me. Their menu seems healthy and has a lot of vegetables featured. There were so many things I wanted to try but I ordered the chicken plate. Choosing two sides from many options was hard. I picked Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. Food was served quickly. They brought them to our table. It was a simple grilled chicken breast but I really liked it. Brussels sprouts had some delicious sauce on. It was very satisfying and I felt full quickly. I loved their space too. Cute interior with lots of lights. It's my new favorite restaurant in Nora!

Known for their vegan and vegetarian dishes, flower child is a good little eatery. Has a cafeteria feel, where hearty plated meals are served with a smile.

The menu is not your typical menu, it's very crafty if that's a word. The service was very good, and she explained the menu well and we took her up on her recommendations. Turkey pastrami which I had never had before. It tastes really fresh and felt healthy. The salad comes in a little small bowl but full of goodness. It's a really nice place for a girls night out, or a family dinner. Wouldn't consider it a good place for date night as it is pretty loud.

The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. It was more than enough for two people to eat. I was in the mood for wings and fries and they did not disappoint. The wings were seasoned and fried just without the burnt taste. The fries were equally good and had a unique seasoning that was pleasing to taste. One of the best kept secrets as this restaurant has not been opened long. We had the crab cakes and crab & artichoke dip for apps and our lunch entrees were the fried catfish sandwich with fries and the filet with mashed potatoes and collard greens. For bevvies, we tried their rosé and red zeppelin English ale. All of it, every bit and bite, was 10/10. Food breakdown: - Crab cakes: succulent lump crap meat within a lightly battered and flash fried coating. They come on a bed of arugula with a light dressing and dipping sauce for the cakes. Super yummy! - Crab & artichoke dip: ooey gooey deliciousness, perfect balance of cheese sauce too. You don't have to search for the crab or artichokes. And the fried naan chips were sliced long and thin, and could've been called naan fries actually. Perfect companion for the dip. - Fried catfish sammich: the piece of fish was huge and the batter was good. It came on Texas toast with fixins and tartar sauce. Won't lie, the only thing I wanted for was some hot sauce. That's a me problem... just gotta have hot sauce when I eat fried fish but I didn't ask for any while I was there (they may offer it) and still very much enjoyed the sandwich. - Filet: it was great... hubby got it medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The Demi glaze sauce was so good and so were the sides. Their collard greens are seasoned up! I said does my auntie work here?! This cuisine is so comfortingly southern and didn't disappoint. Shoutout to our friendly and helpful server, Dan... our food and drinks came out quickly and so did our to-go box. His service was truly top notch. However the last three visits I have had three different dishes (including ones I had order previously) and all three have tasted like cooking oil. Today I had the caprese toast. I decided to add salmon for added protein. Ya'll, when you see the word 'caprese', you think fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, right? Not cooked, right? Well every item except some mint was cooked. Mushy apples, mushy tomatoes.... coated in a fowl smelling oil. The mushy-ness of it all got to the bread underneath. Then the salmon on top.... it was salmon but it was very, very smoky and it was shredded to appear like.... hate to say it.... cat food. Cat food instantly popped in my mind when I saw my plate. The item I used to love the sweet potato hash but it now has the same problem as the caprese toast. No flavor except that of cooking oil. I also ordered a kids plate with scrambled eggs. Eggs arrived with obvious signs of being over cooked with brown burn marks. Fine for a fried rice at a Chinese restaurant, maybe. But really? This is a brunch place that is supposedly 'health minded'. Eggs shouldn't be dry. I'm sure they also tasted like cooking oil but I didn't try them. I agree with another reviewer that the descriptions of dishes could be better. A cooked caprese??? I wouldn't have ordered it. Two stars are only beause the service here is decent.
