This is the second time I've been to Reno Nevada but neglected to visit this awesome bar. The atmosphere is classic with an abundance of seating and pool tables with a fantastic selection of drafts, liquor and food. The staff is superb, constantly looking to make sure I was doing ok. Needless to say anytime I come back into town to visit I will be sure to spend my money here. The only caveat is they should have an awesome breakfast menu to pair with their sensational lunch & dinner menu. read more

I would typically give a 5 star rating for this Flowing Tide because it's my favorite one, and I've never had a problem until today. The waitress, Erika was extremely rude. She got two of our drink orders wrong, and really no big deal. However, when we asked for different drinks, she brought one person the correct drink and when I asked again, she gave me attitude. Not to mention she asked everyone else but myself if we wanted refills. I've been in big groups at this Tides before and have never been charged for "automatic gratuity." So I'm not sure why all of a sudden she charged everyone at our table automatic gratuity. Even though she had a poor attitude I would have given her anywhere from 15-20% tip, but she automatically charged more than the typical 15%. I love going to Tides during the first happy hour on Mondays, but definitely wouldn't want to have her as a waitress again. read more

Fish tacos are pretty dam good. I normally have burgers but this time my buddy was insisting I try fish tacos. And might I say dam. They're pretty big and beyond delicious. I've been to several different Flowing Tide locations in town, and I remember liking them, but I was never being a big enough fan to go out of my way to dine or drink there. Now that I have one in my neighborhood though, I frigging LOVE it! This is a great local chain of neighborhood bars with the Happiest Hour(s) in town- 2:00-6:00 AND 10:00-midnight daily! Service is always fast and friendly, and I appreciate that the staff remembers me when I come in. It's totally a "Cheers" kind of place. The food is standard pub fare and while it's not the greatest, it is always tasty, satisfying, and affordable. I come in specifically for their quesadilla packed with not just gooey cheese, but all kinds of delicious veggies! I wish they were a little more generous with the guac, but I understand that avocados are pricey...Add-ons (i.e. cheese on a salad =$1.39, guac = $3.00) are a little overpriced in my book, and I wish they didn't have a surcharge for takeout orders, but this is a locally-owned business and I'm sure it's priced that way for a reason. Everything else is so dang affordable that I don't really mind coughing up a little extra to have my meal just the way I like it. I still might not travel out of my way to visit Flowing Tide, but I am grateful to have one in my neighborhood and I fully take advantage of that! read more

With the number of times I have been here, I do not believe I haven't wrote a review before. This place is right down the street from my work so it's very convenient for lunch. I've found my go to meal here, it's the Cabo wrap, can't go wrong with it. Today I ordered my usual but I called in the order so that it was ready when a friend and I got there. They said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Sure enough when we showed up 10 minutes later, we were seated and the food was out within a minute. Made it super easy and fast. The waitress was very attentive, I wish I had gotten her name. I know bar food isn't everyone's favorite but they do have an extensive menu with quite a few great things. read more

I frequent Flowing Tide 4, and I definitely prefer it to the other tides. But I came to Flowing Tide 3 the other day to grab something to eat out of convenience to a friend I was with. Upon first glance, you probably wouldn't even know this bar was here. It's tucked away into the side of a business park in a heavily warehoused portion of Reno. I've actually driven by it several times and never even realized it was there. Nonetheless, when we walked in, the layout was very different from any Flowing Tide I've ever been to. (Bar front and center immediately as you walk in, a couple pool tables to the left, and seating all the the right, with a few high tops surrounded by low walled booths. We opted for a booth, and once we sat down we were completely secluded from the rest of the bar. (Which is good sometimes!) We took a while to ponder the menus then placed our orders, with a few substitutions. The waitress was very nice and read back our orders correctly. When our food arrived, quite a while later, it all appeared to be correct and we ordered some cocktails. But upon further inspection, two of our sandwiches were missing bacon, and our waitress was nowhere to be found. After I had finished half of my sandwich, the bartender finally came to check on us (she's a friend) and she fixed the bacon situation right away. But unfortunately after I had finished my meal, I still didn't have my cocktail. The bar was surprisingly backed up for a Sunday before football had started. Either way, my meatloaf sandwich was delicious, even without the bacon! But it could have used some sauce. I opted for mayo but was told later it's supposed to be eaten with ketchup! (I'm not a ketchup fan) This Flowing Tide definitely gave me a different vibe than any of the others with the booth seating so secluded to one side. It's like the rest of the bar didn't exist once we sat down. I definitely recommend this location if that's the thing you're looking for! read more

Great beers on tap. Great food - the Italian Burger is always a winner. Great service - the waitresses are always great. Engaging. Nice. Prompt. I've been in here many a time for late lunches, early dinners or even a late morning Bloody Mary. The service is always on point and the orders come out exactly as expected. The food is delicious and though I usually stick with a burger or some variety, everything I've tried is delicious. Their French fries are the right amount of crispy for me but still have a few mushy ones that the wife can happily steal. For the non- drinkers they have fun mocktails and the refills are never lacking. It's also great when a game is on because you can relax with a few drinks and watch a game or two. Plus it's not a full on sports bar so the wifey isn't overwhelmed by non stop sports. Great local spot with a great selection and awesome staff. Happy to call it one of my favorite haunts. read more

Usually this place is good in fact great. Tonight sucked. Whoever the cook is needs to get canned. What do you mean you won't make 2 chicken and one beef taco(s)? My husband gets this all the time here and never had a problem. I got my usual Italian Chicken Chicken sandwich. The chicken breast was not a whole breast but thin slices, this is not usual as the chicken sandwiches are usually a whole chicken breast. I had to take the chicken off one side of the sandwich and put it on the other half just to have a decent size sandwich. And the sauce was dripping on it. Had to wipe most off! I have to start this review by saying that this place is amazing!!! Many a time have my friends and I come here to simply hang out out or party a bit. This place is great for both! The happy hour specials are pretty great, too. Particularly the prices of the beer on tap during happy hour. If you have a family, the booth section of this establishment is great to get together and have some great food. Also, for those with the interest, the tables are big enough for playing card games like Magic and even playing Dungeons & Dragons (I have done both with my friends). This is great for those that want to drink a bit and have great food and still indulge in their nerd side a bit. Come here and have a great time! Remember to tip your server, too! After hitting to many buffets and AYCE places while staying at the Grand Sierra, my wife wanted a good salad. Found a recommendation of the salads at all of the Flowing Tide pubs so gave it a shot. This place is on the other side of the airport in this little industrial park, but what a find. We passed it once (it is sandwiched between a few martial arts places and across from the fire station). We have always liked brew pubs when our kids were really young because our kids could make noise and make a mess and they would always end up being the most behaved in the place (compared to adults). Kids are older but pub food has always hit the spot. This seems like a great after work place with pool tables, video poker, a bar, lots of big screen televisions and a bunch of tables. Don't think of it as a bar but as a place to grab some surprisingly good food. Waitresses were incredibly nice to us - got our appetizers going early and had our drinks all set. The potato skins were old school (TGIF memories) and the wings were really big. I guess we should have had the wicked wings because the honey BBQ ones were just sweet and stick. The size of the wings made it work. Fried calamari was not rings but slabs of calamari, which ended up being a super hit for my 9-year old daughter. My wife got the chinese chicken salad and it was the best version I have seen at a pub. Burgers and sandwiches were awesome. I had to go with the bacon and bleu cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The fries were perfectly crisp and not too thick. Others had the french dip sandwich, the cheesesteak, and other burgers. My daughter went for the kids spaghetti, which they custom made with butter and parmesan. She was still hungry and chowed down a bunch of the chinese chicken salad, some of the cheesesteak and a bunch of the sweet potato fries. Just an awesome meal and a real find. This is our neighborhood bar. There are a few other's, but we keep coming back here whenever we want a mini date on a weeknight. I don't think that the happy hour can be beaten. $6 appetizers that are really full meals, and $5 drinks. We get the same thing every time, chicken tenders, 2 glasses of cab for me, and 2 red bull vodkas for him. The reason we order the same thing every time is that we have tried the nachos and they were not good. Not at all. I have had better nachos at a high school football game. The ground meat on these is not anything I recognize, and the portion size is small in comparison to the chicken tenders. The chicken tender appetizers come with FOUR medium size strips and a large fry. The fries are crispy and medium cut. You can have the tenders sauced, or just plain. I will order blue cheese and sauce on the side, but it typically comes with ranch. The quesadilla is also a good selection for vegetarians. We haven't been ambitious enough to try the pot stickers, but maybe one day. Jalapeno poppers and mozz sticks are also on the menu. Last night we stayed a bit longer and decided to take a look at the full menu. I was pleased to see that they have a few ahi dishes and a lot of other options that look yummy. The service is always great, the waitresses are on top of things, as it is especially busy during the happy hour. I never have an empty glass, and I feel like they never miss a beat/request. As long as I am in the neighborhood Flowing Tide will be our favorite neighborhood spot to go. read more

My go to spot, this bar (and the other locations) have the best happy hour times. 2-6pm and 10-12am. It now allows smoking but people who aren't fans of the smoke can go to the NEW location just down the street across from Mira Loma Park. Two pool tables and some gaming machines set up since the bar area is closed due to covid. Usually not very busy on the weekdays or Sunday but can get super packed on Friday-Saturday night so I wouldn't recommend this place for big groups (for now). Not much else more to say than this place has the best prices on alcohol on happy hour. read more

My husband and I came for lunch today. It was his first time here. I've been several times and I've been raving about it. He ordered a cheesesteak wrap and sweet potato fries. The fries were super good... The wrap not so much. He found three bay leaves in it.... Not at all a pleasant thing to bite into. He said it just didn't taste that good either. They did take half off his meal due to the bay leaves, which was nice of them. My Chinese chicken salad wasn't prepared as listed on the menu (no wonton strips, and it had candied pecans which I am fairly sure it didn't list on the menu) but it tasted really good. It'd have been even better with wonton strips though. I'm a little let down today and now I probably won't get him to come back with me! read more

My friends and I frequently come in for the service on Thursday nights. Celina our server is outstanding. Does a good job of remembering preferences for drink orders as well as food orders. My friends and I came in on a Tuesday night. And to our surprise our server was no where in sight. We decided to stay and eat because it looked slow. Our server, don't remember her name because she never introduced herself, came over and sat with us at our table very casually. It was very awkward for my friends and I as she took our order. After about an hour of waiting. We had finally got our food and our server went missing as we all needed refills and checks. We had to go ask the bartender for our waitress who had mysteriously disappeared. Our waitress was I believe the only blonde girl I have seen there. My friends and I have agreed to come back to FTP for the service from Celina, who is very attentive to our needs and leaves us smiling every time. This review gets the 5 stars because of her. A group of eight of us came here last week to get lunch and socialize. It's super convenient to our office and a great place for us to enjoy a relaxed lunch. The restaurant is pretty dark inside, which gives it a nice late-night bar vibe but makes it seems a little less like somewhere you might head for a work lunch. Unfortunately we were unable to partake, but they have two happiest of hours, one from two to six and one from ten to midnight. The parking lot isn't super intuitive to get into (you either have to enter way ahead of the corner on Longley, or make a left onto Mira Loma and then a left into the parking lot). Even with eight of us during a weekday lunch rush, the server was attentive, got all of our orders right, made sure our glasses were full, and kept us generally fat and happy. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak sandwich, which first of all is gigantic. Most of the entrees are, so you can definitely split with someone if you're looking to save a little dough. My sandwich was really good, and you could tell that the food is freshly prepared and isn't coming out of a freezer bag. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their lunch as well, we all got much quieter once food was in front of us. I'll definitely be back for lunch when I need to get a break from the office, and it seems fairly likely you might find me in there for happy hour now and again. read more

The Flowing Tide is an awesome spot with an easy going environment. The service is excellent and the staff is super friendly, especially Lilly! I usually get the French dip, which is the best in town, in my opinion. Their happy hour is killer and happens TWICE everyday, none of that M-F stuff! Definitely, a good sports bar. The atmosphere is welcoming and staff is nice. This a great place to go see a UFC fight, boxing match, sports, etc. The food is pretty good and I wish they could step it up a bit, that would really make these guy awesome. My buddy and I took his kids there for lunch. The wings were good and his kids ate them all up. I would recommend this place for lunch but it does get a by on the busy side. It doesn't feel like a pub at all. It's got all the makings...low light, dark wood, high booths, but alas, it is simply a sports bar. I'll get off my pub soap box now. The food is very good, and the servings are big. The french fries are amazing. One thing I like more than a pub atmosphere is french fries. The fish is okay, nothing special and just above what can be done at home. My dining partner's sandwich looked delicious and he was satisfied. The staff rocks, the place is clean, the prices are decent, they have 2 happy hours with good deals on really good appetizers, & I ALWAYS walk out having had a great time! I love the variety they have. When it comes to apps, nothing beats the tide wings & zucchini wheels for me! Their mozzarella sticks are pretty good too. MOST IMPORTANTLY-for me, I love a big hot bowl of fresh, gooey, French Onion Soup with lots of flavor & onions! I FINALLY FOUND it HERE! I have tried a number of their sandwiches & have loved all of them! Actually I haven't had anything I didn't like at the Flowing Tide III! Great food, great service. Quick and inexpensive for the most part (and a military discount). My favorite for lunch is their club sando. Unfortunately I forget the name of it, but it has toasted bread, turkey, ham, avocado, and bacon. Their beer-battered fries are awesome, and their ranch goes great with both the fries and dipping the sandwich in. =) For dinner, I always, always, ALWAYS get their rueben. Utterly fantastic, the best rueben I've ever had! I heard from a friend that it's different because they'll marinate the meat in the sauce, rather than just make the sandwich and poor the sauce on right before serving. I don't know if this is true, but it certainly tastes like it is, so I'll just go with it. Sometimes the sando is a bit light on the sauce, so I'll order a little side cup of it for good measure, just in case. If you're ordering to go, and you like sides of ranch, count how much you have before you leave and ask the waitress for more if need some ... the bartenders are a little stingy, imo (ie: 1 or 2 ranch for 2 meals w/ fries and a large appetizer.) The atmosphere is superb, the waitresses are always friendly and quick, plenty of TVs for sports, and all the locations have pool, darts, some video games, and a jukebox. Oh, and a great selection of beer ... I love that they have Blue Moon! Overall, I love this place, it's hard to turn down when suggested or invited. read more
