Quality Chicago Dog!! I brought my best friend who was visiting out of town and was able to try a couple of items. It was also very cool for the employee to share why a Chicago Dog should not have ketchup on it. The tots were a little oily but crunchy and tasty. The fries were great, not too salty, and hot (which is very important to me)! The hot dogs were of quality ingredients including the original vienna and the spicy polish. The pickle had a great crunch, the sport peppers gave just enough heat, and the tomatoes were fresh! Also, I'm a ranch fanatic and their ranch hit the spot with the fries. I didn't know what to think of Flub A Dub Chubs at first. I mean I just spent $32 on 5 hot dogs. I told myself these mo fos have to taste great to justify this price. They all came with fries so you were at least guaranteed to get full, but at the end the day, that's a hell of a lot of fries. Their service was great. Very welcoming and very kind. They even offered us a cup of water while we waited. They took their sweet as time making our food and it was worth it. They paid attention to detail, even the wrapping of the food to ensure that it would make it our house warm and with no issues. We ordered their Chicago style hot dogs and two Jimmy chili cheese dogs. Chili cheese dogs are always messy, and this dog was no different. The wiener had a nice snap and was coated in chili and cheese. It was perfect and very filling. The chili was meaty and they give you a lot of it. The Chicago dog or their "Flubby" was near perfect. It came with your usually fixings. Tomatl wedges, pickle, sport peppers and Chicago neon green relish and a cucumber. Most after unwrapping don't look like this, but they wrapped it so perfect that nothing got messed up which made it easy to eat. The only thing that I was missing was a poppy seed bun. The fries were seasoned perfectly and tasted great. I was very impressed with Flub a Dub Chubs. It's a small seating area, but there were quite a few people eating at the restaurant. I loved the decor, there were a ton of hotdog sketches and hilarious artwork on the wall. I was cracking up while we waited for our food. The fries were HOT and the way they seasoned them was delicious. The hotdogs were wonderful and so totally worth it. We got two Chicago style dogs. I've had food from here 3x, and every time the food was amazing. The service was good, no issues with my order at all. They bring the food right to your table which is awesome. It's a fairly small basement like restaurant, so I would go there with a group larger than 4. The walls are covered in artwork that previous customers have added to the mix. I was looking for a place for a good hot dog. Google search lead me to this place. I decided to take a chance on it. And I'm glad I did. Thank goodness for the sign harking me to the entrance, because it's a little hidden. After going downstairs, I was greeted with what seem to be hundreds of drawings of hot dogs. I was looking at the pictures when I heard a voice asking me would I like to draw a picture. I can't draw a stick figure so I declined. I went up to the register to order the $5 special, (got a free drink for checking in on Yelp) and I asked for the tots. The hot dog was delicious, great beefy flavor and the dog was slightly fatter than most places. The toppings were super fresh and I loved the addition of a cucumber slice along with the pickle. Darn good!! And the tots were crispy, hot and fluffy. Almost a buttery flavor. I left happy and truly satisfied, I can't wait to go back. read more

If this is what an authentic chicago hotdog is like, i'm sold. The restaurant has a very cool atmosphere and you become aware of it as soon as you enter through the doors. The framed drawings of hot dogs all over the walls show that Dub Chub's is beloved by locals and has been so for decades. This place has a really nice, historic charm behind it and I wouldn't be surprised if the cooks knew many of their customers by first name. They don't skimp on the toppings no matter which option you choose, and the fries or tots are always super crispy and delicious--never soggy. It deserves less than 3 stars because not only was it one of the less impressive Chicago dogs I've ever had (and worst 5 in Chicago, and I've tried 100 or so), but it was one of the most expensive too (like 1-3 dollars more than every other version I've had in town). However, their rendition of another classic Chicago sandwich, the Italian Beef, needs some work. The beef itself seems to be good quality, but the au jus lacks the deep, dark, rich flavor of the best Italian beefs, and the giardieniera is vinegary and has zero heat. Came here on a whim randomly since I was nearby. I've always passed by it but never actually went in. I got the two dog special and one was the coney and the other was the Chicago dog. I was able to upgrade based on the difference which is cool. The Chicago dog was normal, but the coney dog was unbelievable. The chili is house made and tastes so amazing! They even char the hotdogs so it tastes a bit more smokey. The tots were extra crispy which was also a plus. The lady behind the counter was sweet, I think she was the owner and works during the day. She is a huge fan of good bbq but very picky. I always bragged how she will love those flavors and guess what Her mind was blown away She said that she will bring some other friends bc this is amazing.. and it is true. Flub A Dub Chub's is a classic Chicago hot dog spot! I have walked past the restaurant for years and never stopped in until recently. Flub A Dub Chub's is a classic Chicago hot dog joint. It reminds me vaguely of the days of walking into a hot spot on Maxwell street in the days of Chicago past. The restaurant is underground so expect to miss the front door if you are walking too fast. You have to walk down a small set of stairs to enter the front door and the inside is a little cramped. I believe the inside was built like this intentionally, it is small enough a suit a few small groups of people a lucky group of 4 or more if it is a slow day in the restaurant. You are meant to eat your hot-dog or polish with the quickness that we would eat a slice of New York pizza. The prices are much more expensive than I have seen at most hot-dog spots. I deem it as a little over priced but the food quality made up for my initial concerns. I would expect to easily spend $20 for a party of two especially if you expect to get fries and a drink to top off the delicious hot-dog. I am obsessed with a good polish so I followed my heart and do not regret my decision! The food came out quickly and pipping hot. It was absolutely the best polish that I have had in a long time. I tried a bite of the hot-dog and they make sure to use the best of the best hot-dog. My favorite part of my time at Flub A Dub Chub's is their Wall of Shame. It is not really a wall but more like a TV monitor that shows a slideshow of people using ketchup on their hot-dog. It is what made me fall for this place even more.
