My mom and I dined in here for brunch and had a good experience. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake stuffed french toast with grits and a water. This location does not serve alcoholic beverages. The food was good, the french toast was a little sweet but the biscuit was delicious and the grits were so creamy. I'd like to try another menu option next time. Came here on a very busy Saturday afternoon, but we were seated right away. Staff was very attentive. And the restaurant was very clean. The food quality was really good. The biscuits were very light and I loved the apple butter with them. The Hollywood omelette was full of veggies and came out nice and hot along with the very creamy grits. Good portion. read more

Love some Flying Biscuit! Good breakfast place - never been for anything but. Having said that, experience is always good. Kids will be good here. Menu can satisfy picky eaters and those with limited choices (I have Alpha Gal, am diabetic and allergy to tree nuts). Went with my son and a friend. We had the basic breakfast and one waffle and chicken. Everything was good - over medium eggs - cooked properly. The star of the restaurant is their apple butter (in my opinion) - it was as good as I remembered! I highly recommend for breakfast. Definitely better than most places. read more

Bottom line: A good visit overall at the newest Flying Biscuit Cafe in Cary. The Egg-Stravaganza selection was just what was needed for an early breakfast. A couple of things appeared to be a bit disorganized but it was a nice visit and would like coming here for breakfast in the future. The Deets: I had a chance recently to check out the newly opened Flying Biscuit Cafe location in Cary at Parkside Commons. I got there bright and early to beat any lines/crowds as they open at 7am. There was a bit of disorganization when I came into the host desk but I got seated relatively quickly despite that. I was promptly provided with a menu and my server took my drink order for coffee and water. My beverages were brought out quickly and also one of their Fluffy Flying Biscuits came with it as well along with some cranberry apple butter. I am usually not a fan of the sugar sprinkling that usually is found on their biscuits but luckily this time there was minimal and the biscuit was pretty good. I did have to ask for silverware at one point, as stirring my coffee with an empty Splenda packet was not optimal, and it was provided quickly. I ordered their Egg-Stravaganza breakfast selection which is 2 eggs, 1 signature chicken sage sausage patty, bacon, grits (choice of side), and whole-wheat french toast with honey crème anglaise (I skipped the raspberry sauce). I enjoyed my breakfast which was served in good time, with everything delicious and done well. The honey crème anglaise reminded me of icing on cinnamon rolls and made for a nice change from regular syrup (syrup was provided on the table if needed). One thing to note with this location as they do not server mimosas/alcohol at any time here at the time of this writing, and does not look to be a temporary thing as the beverage menu does not include it and the servers confirmed it was not offered any time at this location. It was not an issue this visit. Overall, I had a good experience for the most part here at the Cary location of The Flying Biscuit Cafe and look forward to visiting again. read more

The staff are always nice and the food is usually average (at best). Today, we got the usual sub-par, plus some raw fried eggs that were meant to be over easy. They remade the as over medium and came out just as raw and inedible. We got $3 off of a $14 breakfast when the 3rd attempt at a fried egg failed. I have been to a number of other Flying Biscuits and had at least average food - this one never gets better than the local drive-through options. read more

The Cary location opened this week so off we went to check it out! We were seated upon arrival and waited on promptly. Special was shrimp and grits for $5 - and was absolutely delicious!! Biscuits are soft and fluffy served warm. It was busy but not overly loud. The server was excellent and very very happy we came! I love the Raleigh location as well but this one will be easier to get to. Great job with attention to detail on all the staff. Very good experience here. read more

We came on a Sunday morning and joined the waitlist. It wasn't more than. 15-20 minute wait. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and I ate more than I should because I didn't want to leave anything that delicious behind. I ordered the Freebird, and the chicken gravy was awesome! This is my 2nd visit to the Flying Biscuit. The food is good. But I have mixed emotions. My hubby likes the biscuits, but I don't like that they come out before the entree, with only apple butter. You have to ask for butter and preserves. I want my bread with my meal, and by the time the meal is served, the biscuit is not warm any more. If your name has 'biscuit' in it -- personally everything about the biscuits should be perfect. I don't eat biscuits daily, so when I do, I want them right. And guess what, cold butter doesn't spread on a cooled off biscuit. The atmosphere is great and the servers are attentive. Love the wall murals. But, FB you must do better when it comes to the word, biscuit. read more

Was in the Cary area getting services performed on my car and decided to get breakfast while I had wait time. This restaurant did not disappoint. Upon arrival I observed that they had outdoor seating, however, I decided to sit inside. Was not impressed by the two ladies at the front desk as they were more interested in their personal conversation than getting me seated. But when they were done they asked an employee that was passing by to seat me at whatever table that was available (as if they were busy). My waitress made up for the subpar greeting and welcome. She had a great attitude and was very well versed in the menu. I ended up getting stuffed French toast, scrabbled eggs with cheese, bacon, potatoes and grits. I know...it was a hungry type of morning. The food was well presented, seasoned, and delicious. The grits were some on the best I ever had. Definitely will be returning in the future. Great people, interesting decoration, but extremely high prices, I mean, wow, really? Ok, you get free biscuits when you sit down but the sticker shock from the menu is over the top. Maybe someone should tell them that egg prices have started coming down and price adjustments are in order. The price for a salad and what you actually get is a rip off. Hey folks, I'll tell you I remember the first flying biscuit experience down in NC State with my daughter loved their biscuits and I love their apple butter. The atmosphere is fantastic. I totally forgot about this one sitting in Parkside. We live only 15 minutes from here and the atmosphere is great. The young lady behind the bar is phenomenal and as always, the food is great and very well priced highly recommend it And in fact, if you don't wanna get all fancy, just get a couple eggs on the side and they give you free biscuits and you can be in and out for under 10 bucks a person if you really want to, but the place is great. read more

I've been to the Gainesville Fl location many years ago and it was great then but more recently not so much. So, when I was in Cary recently I thought I'd give it a try. Big disappointment! The menu has very little options for salads and hot sandwiches. A Reuben would have been a great addition, ya know, hot, grilled rye bread and all the yumminess of the melt cheese....but they only offered three different types of burgers . It was a cold day so even a decent soup option would have been welcome. The burger was dry and although it said it was "two quarter pound patties" I opted for one thinking 1/2 pound of beef is a lot! Well, the burger patty was similar to a Mickey D's kid burger except dry and flavorless. It was maybe 1.5 ounce puck of brownness served with what they tout as fresh chips. They were not fresh unless you count a "freshly opened" bag of kettle chips. The potential is there but it is lacking in so many ways. read more

You have no idea how excited I was when I found out Cary was getting a flying biscuit! As a transplant from Atlanta (birthplace of the flying biscuit) and a frequent visitor of the one in briar creek, I had super high hopes for this new location. However, we won't be going back to this location. Here's how our visit went... we arrived around 10:30 ish on a weekend morning and noticed the chaos the minute we walked in. I think the person at the host stand was either the owner or manager. There was definitely a disconnect between her and the servers and the kitchen staff. She didn't seem to know the restaurants menu very well and was taking forever to take orders on the phone. We were seated within the wait time we were told however you could sense the frustration in all of the servers faces. We were seated and told that we would be helped shortly. We were not given a kids menu even though we asked for one. The host also "took our drink orders" but we never got them. Finally a server came and apologized for the wait. I can't remember her name but she was amazing. Things to note: menu is totally different than the brier creek version. Substantially smaller and missing a lot of variety- in my opinion. They have an "express menu" up on the wall but no where written for the outside seating or at table reading. My husband had to go inside to read it. It was confirmed that this location does not have alcohol and nor will it ever. Other than our amazing server that was doing the best that she could everything was lacking. The flavor was also meh in all of the food. We'll go back to frequenting the brier creek location. read more

This place is terrible, I just can't believe screwing up breakfast, which is probably the easiest to prepare. You will get a better breakfast at ihop to be honest. Just go to first watch/ famous toastery and skip this. Only thing good are the free biscuits. Most food is cold and bland. Syrup isn't hot. Everything comes with side sauces and or toppings which are full of sugar and mask the terrible flavor of the food. Had oatmeal pancakes, waffles, chicken, pancake and French toast and they all sucked. Only top of that menu items are 16+ which is ridiculous. Employees do not look happy and who would blame them. I'll never go back as there are so many better options. FYI don't get scammed by the children's menu, the prices there are more than just ordering singles off the bottom of the adult menu. The adult menu items are cheaper and larger. 2 stars for the biscuits only. read more

Glad to have another brunch/ breakfast option in the area. Ambiance is a cool diner vibe. Service was excellent and very attentive. The Dirty Bird was delish. Chicken tenders weren't dry or heavily breaded. That combined with the sausage gravy and egg was absolutely perfect. The grits were phenomenal. I had the loaded grits as a side...it was creamy, cheesy and well flavored. My fried green tomato BLT was a disappointment. The tomatoes were very heavily breaded and too hard imho. It was served with goat cheese & a strangely sweet cashew jalapeño relish. What's more egregious is that they completely missed the B in the sandwich. It can't be a BLT without the main attraction...Bacon!! Funny thing is, the kitchen thought they missed the tomatoes in the sandwich & sent out a plate of fried green tomatoes. When the server saw that I had tomatoes already, the plate went back to the kitchen ‍. The server and manager did make it right by adjusting our tab to reflect the missing bacon. Mistakes happen & ultimately how it was handled is the most important part of customer service. While I was disappointed with my food, I will be back to try one of the other offerings. read more
