Not a great experience. I normally go to the one at Cameron, which is fantastic but was in Cary and decided to try the one in Parkside. What a disappointment. They couldn't seem to decide which waitress was waiting on me which left me waiting for my coffee and waiting to have my order taken. When my food finally arrived the chicken sausage was hard and dry and the biscuits weren't that great. Definitely not what I'm accustomed to from Flying Biscuit. The cherry on top was looking over and seeing my waitress and one of the others at the door petting a dog. Not what what you want to see while you're eating. Did they wash their hands. That is beyond gross!!! Poor service, mediocre food and bad hygienic practices. Safe to say I won't be returning to the one in Parkside. read more

UPDATE 16 November: Took my daughter and her boys for breakfast. Food was very good. Egg-stravaganza, waffles with whip cream smiley faces, and oatmeal. We ate outside and although a very comfortable patio and a gorgeous day, the music was extremely annoying. Loud 70s rock. Asked three times if they could reduce the volume, and although they said they did it was not enough. I still love the place, and I'm hopeful they will overcome the growing pains. 15 November: we ate at the new Cary location. So happy to see a good breakfast place open in NW Cary! We need more dining options in the area, and this is a welcome addition! When we entered the restaurant we were immediately impressed with the bright and uplifting vibe of the place. We received a warm welcome and were immediately seated. The coffee was really good, the biscuits and grits were amazing, and our breakfasts were cooked to perfection. I had the egg stravaganza, and my wife had chicken and waffles. I would like to have included pictures, but we gobbled our breakfast down before I thought to take them My only observation was the server was very quick to pick up empty plates while we were eating. This is a pet peeve of mine, especially when I go out for breakfast. She also left the check as soon as she brought our meals. We felt very rushed, which is a complete contradiction to the laid back vibe the restaurant conveys. Hopefully these are just growing pains as this is a new restaurant, so we took it in stride. Got here while it was raining and was told it would be around a 15 min wait. Pretty big disconnect between the host stand and the wait staff as they clearly could've bussed and sat tables more efficiently. We were sat more close to 25 minutes and our server took a while to get to us. We ordered and app, drinks and waters and only one of the waters got to us. Reminded our server of the waters and still took 5 more minutes to get to us. Had to ask for straws as well. Our biscuits came out then our app (FGT). A bus person takes my sons share plate and I tell her we need that for the apps. We never got a new plate. The app was great though. They are consistent across the other restaurants, which is nice. Our server kept coming back asking if we needed anything but when we did (water refills), she was nowhere to be found. Food is good, service could use some brushing up. Poor design of the front waiting area as you can't get to the host stand while other people are waiting. Granted, we came on Mother's Day, but we waited 1.5 hours to sit down, and then waited another hour to get our food. The biscuits are great, don't get me wrong. The chicken was dry, bland, and seemed like they just slathered some hot sauce on them and put them on top of a soggy waffle. My mom got the honey butter chicken and waffles; dry chicken, not a lot of flavor and soggy waffle. My dad got an egg white omelet with a side of grilled Mac n cheese. Now the grilled Mac n cheese; man I'll tell you that shit was the worst food we had there . Tasted like absolutely nothing. Please get the Mac n cheese and let me know what you think, I'm not exaggerating.
