We were able to be seated immediately as a party of 6, so that was incredible. Our waitress had a great personality and brought waters without asking. I love when people do this! We ordered mimosas and got our order in pretty quickly for food. It was ready in 15 minutes and everyone loved their food! I got the breakfast burrito with homemade queso and a pineapple pico. So yummy! The cheese grits were delicious and the biscuit with cranberry apple butter was divine! read more

We decided to give this a go, we have been trying different places during our visit. Based on reviews we thought it's a good choice. We arrived and parking wasn't plentiful but it was a Sunday brunch so we accessed the lot close. We went inside to get on list. Told 30 minutes and it was exactly that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had tic tac toe outside as well as tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very warm inside and seemed like little airflow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat and asked a couple questions about what we had already decided on. I ordered the eggstravaganza, friend had similar, kids burger, kids French toast and a kids pancake. The kids burger was just mediocre, it wasn't house made but seemed a low quality patty. The child gave it a 5, kids French toast was ok to me, was eggy(which adults want) and made with challah bread. She didn't really care for it but ate it with cream sauce and other one. The kids pancake was gone in a flash! The bacon had great flavor and cooked well. The biscuit was a lil too doughy to my friend and I both(reminded me of a McDonalds biscuit) grits very creamy, eggs and sausage good. We all had waters to hydrate. I'm not sure it would be a must do if I visited again. read more

For the most part, their prices are fantastic! Do you love a biscuit sandwich? I do. I think they had like 9 different ones. And they don't only do Southern, they had chorizo. Four of us met up for a Saturday AM breakfast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were quickly seated in a comfortable booth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a number of selections, but I was conservative and just had some eggs, potatoes, sausage and toast. Everything was pretty tasty. Our server was hustling, but it looked like he was covering too many tables, so it took a while for all the things we requested to come out. My potatoes came out a good 5 - 10 minutes after my eggs and toast. Pricing was reasonable. I would give it another try while in the area. read more

Met some friends for breakfast and this place is so good! The hangover hash and the high flyer were our choices! Our son ordered a biscuit with the signature cranberry apple butter (epic) and a side of scrambled eggs with cheese. The orange juice was so good. The biscuits are fluffy and light. The combination of flavors were so good in the hash. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small but it's exactly what we needed. We had a great breakfast here the other day. The service was fantastic and our server replenished our mimosas without even asking. Everything was great. The restaurant was busy, but we were easily seated within a few minutes. The pricing was perfect for the location and meal options. The kids meal we ordered was larger than expected as well. The only thing I would say is the eggs Benedict was not truly like a Benedict with the hollandaise sauce. It felt bland and did not have much flavor. Grits as well as the spicy chicken and waffles were all fantastic. We will be back to try other menu options next time as everything sounded delicious. read more

This place was a DELIGHT!! I found it by chance, all the brunch places on IOP were busy and when I drove up they had a free table. Our waiter was awesome - he was attentive, helpful with recommendations and super friendly, even though the place was slammed. I got a caramel latte to start which was great. For my main I got the pancake tacos with bacon and I LOVED THEM!! I've never found anywhere that makes pancake tacos - when I was kid I made a (worse) version of them so I have a special nostalgia for taco pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were done almost like an omelette so they don't fall out of the pancake - honestly best pancake tacos I've ever had!! 10/10! My mom got the hangover hash (no hangover needed) and also loved it. The biscuit and jam were also great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has a lot of charm - it's colorful, eclectic and silly in the best ways.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the staff were friendly and never made us feel rushed, even though they were clearly super busy If you are anywhere in the area, this is a must visit! The kitchen was behind, but the service from our waiter was amazing. I wish I would've gotten his name, but he continue to check on me and my daughter, he refilled our drinks and convince me to get a pineapple mimosa, which was so good! This is my first time eating at The Flying Biscuit. Also my first time eating chicken gravy. I cannot decide if I am a fan of this gravy or not. It was tasty but different type of gravy than I am use to. You never know until you try. The pancakes were delicious, some of the best I have had in a long time. I had my order delivered. Came here on a Sunday late morning and was busy as expected, but we could sit at the bar right away (which is first come first serve). The bartender was working very hard but stayed calm and gave exceptional service. The Dirty Bird was delicious and satisfying and the coffee tasted great and fresh. There are quite a few good breakfast spots in Mt Pleasant, but I do like this one! Prices are very reasonable as well. read more

My husband and I are in Charleston for medical treatment. On Sunday Mother's Day, he awoke with a craving for a waffle. Pwe went to the Flying Biscuit Cafe and had the best waffle ever! This particular Belgian waffle had two over easy eggs and chicken with gravy and syrup. I watched with delight as my husband devoured every bite. I myself had the Flying Biscuit breakfast with scrambled eggs and grits that were creamy and delicious no, I'm not normally a grits girl, but I think The Flying Biscuit has converted me! Topping this wonderful experience with the fact that servers handed each woman entering the cafe with a long stem red rose. We will go back there every time we are in this area! read more

5 stars without question. Our family of 6 has been out to breakfast every day this week on vacation in Charleston, and Flying Biscuit is by far our favorite. The food is great. Our daughter did not love her Belgian waffle, but I think she was just being choosy. My wife got a chorizo bowl with over medium eggs; I had several bites - so good. Our son liked his hot chicken & waffles. I got my old standby, but with a twist: creamy cheesy grits in place of potatoes and a buttery biscuit over wheat toast. We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!
