Food, drinks, and views are always top tier at Reds in Shem creek. It does get crowded so can be difficult to find a seat. I wish they would open the top deck more often. The service can be hit or miss but to be expected at a busy spot on Shem creek. But it is worth the wait!

Sully happy to be getting treats.

Just moved back after living in Atlanta for years and decided to head to Shem's Creek for dinner. Opted for Red's and it was perfect. The wait was long but that was expected on a Saturday night. No fear because we entertained ourselves watching the dolphins play in the water. We also needed patio seating which added to the delay due to having two dogs with us. We got shrimp and shrimp and grits plus drinks. Food was delicious. Our waiter was pleasant and prompt. The manager (I think) brought our dogs some treats which made them happy. The crowd was lively and restaurant has a relaxed yet energetic vibe. Definitely a great decision and we will be back.

It's bare bones and shabby chic at this Shims Creek location. We had a great view and enjoyed watching the dolphins swim along Shims Creek while enjoying cocktails and some dinner on the back deck. Service was a bit slow in the beginning, but picked up once the staff changed-Cameron was terrific. There were plenty of propane heaters to keep us warm. We ordered the oysters Roasted Red's Way, a blackened grouper sandwich, and a shrimp Baja bowl. The oysters were very tasty, but we wish they separated the oysters from the shell prior to cooking and service. The grouper sandwich was cooked perfectly and was a good portion of fish. The cucumber salad side packed a good punch of vinegar but was a little too sweet for our taste. The Baja Bowl had a hefty portion of shrimp, but they were a bit salty.

The service was slow and the food and needs improvement. It took about 10 minutes just to get half a lemon, which was frustrating. The cheese dip was disappointing. Overall, the experience could have been much better with faster service and better-quality appetizers.

A stubborn thunderstorm, flash flood warnings and ankle-deep parking lots didn't stop our visit for Saturday lunch. The staff shared extra cloth napkins as we dried a bit and then ordered. Our choice was a small low country boil or a fried grouper sandwich. The latter won and so did we. The fish was lightly fried and very tasty. It spilled way over the large bun. The signature fries were an enacted bonus. Other orders at our table included skewered grill shrimp, burgers and a buffalo wrap. All were memorable. Even amid a deluge, the vibe was fun and creek views spectacular. This is the spot for waterfront dining in Mount Pleasant.

I had a cousin come in from out of town and this is the first place we took her to. We were hoping to grab a water view table, but there were none available. It was an hour wait for outside seating, so we just settled for an indoor table which took about 30 minutes. While waiting, we went to the rooftop for the view and to grab a drink and then hung out by the bar downstairs. The high top tables were first come first served, so we tried to grab one, but none became available. Sitting inside, the waitress was very polite. The food we ordered was good. Filling. No complaints. My sister and I had the Palmetto Burger and it hit the spot. I would've ordered more drinks if the waitress came by often. But I guess it wasn't meant to be.

You're lucky if you find a spot to park that doesn't require payment. Shem Creek is full of beautiful sights and so many who want to enjoy it... parking has become the problem over the years. So, ride share, walk or get there early! Cause you'll wanna not miss the bartenders slinging up some yummy drinks! Once you're at Red's you can forget your worries and relax there's plenty of deck space for all. And if you want to beat the heat, also window views! We went for a Sunday funday- Think... Cherry Limeade with a fresh taste and just the right radio or tartness to sweet! Beatbox... BUCKET! Orange and tropical. 32oz. Bring a friend! Frozen Lemonade with firefly vodka. Basically a Frozen Arnold Palmer. So refreshing! This one was totally worth the trip! And return! Will return for food soon, but today was all about the bevvies!

Location is 10/10! Vibes are fun, sports bar, on the water chill. The food items we got were good. Nashville Chicken Sliders & fries were decent but the Key Lime Mustard is a MUST add on! It was great!! Peel & Ear Shrimp was exactly what I expected but the Cucumber Vinegar Salad was literally soooo good!! I will be back.

3 ate for $107 with appetizer and before tip - Fish N Chips on point - if you are a malt vinegar with your battered fish person these are a home run! The Bubba Shrimp gave 4 different flavors - all good and dipping sauces for each - the boil was solid - indoor and outdoor seating - solid meal - portion size good

Beautiful views and fun times, at times you can see dolphins. Ask for the top bar and Taylor does the best drinks.

Had a nice meal on a Friday afternoon at this funky place. Good crowd with lots of activity. Food and service were both great. Outdoor area was heated which made for a nice day!

Yes! You can expect a 1-2 hour wait. When we were there it was 2 hours and they went thru 2,000 pounds of crab legs😬! It's worth the wait, ENJOY!

When and how much is the all you can eat crablegs?

According to their Shem Creek location's website, Monday (today)$29 all you can eat 6-9pm. I don't know if it's every Monday.…

They also didn't have their HH menu updated online so there were things we wanted but couldn't get because it was a different menu. We ended up getting a couple dozen oysters, smoked fish dip and crispy tuna rice. Oysters were fresh and nicely chilled, tuna rice was well seasoned and the fish dip was ok, didn't have any smoky flavor or element to it and lacked in flavor. We ended up moving back down with our friends who had dogs so they ordered from the regular menu. The server was very accommodating and friendly. My friend got the burnt ends Mac n cheese and that was delicious! The place itself was huge and I could see it being a great spot for private events. Overall we had a good time.

Turning into this area, is seriously a hidden gem of Mt P. The scenery is beautiful, calm and homey. The building itself feels like you are walking onto someone's large porch of their fancy classic beach house. They are have views of the tennis courts, pool and other beautiful areas around it. Now the food, was awesome! I am very picky when it comes to fish, as I usually eat shrimp, crab, tilapia and that's it. But wow, it was refreshing to actually enjoy a different type of fish that wasn't slimy, or tasted fishy. The texture was just right and full of flavor. The hummus, oh yes tomato basil flavor perfectly complimented the fish. Seriously mouth watering. Now the bar, oh heavens yessss. I have no idea the name of the pink drink, but it was phenomenal! It wasn't weak, and wasn't to strong, which can be difficult when mixing with tequila. It was literally just right. Now onto entertainment, they have live music on top of live action tennis. Can it seriously get anymore southern. Love it! The performer was a 14 year old kid saving for college, but he was pretty dang good. Lastly, I loved the atmosphere as it was warm and welcoming. As the sun when down, they flipped on the twinkling lights above. Really made it feel like you where having a party on someone back porch. There's really no other way to do it when you're in Charleston! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's definitely a hidden gem.

We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!

We arrived around 8 PM, which was incredibly convenient, and since the restaurant wasn't crowded, we were seated right away. She was attentive, welcoming, and made excellent recommendations. We ordered the 2x California Burger, chicken sandwich, a gyro, side salads (they put the dressing on the salads, it was actually the perfect amount for me, but just be warned, ask for it on the side if you want to add it yourself), and a cheesesteak. The gyro (I got lamb) was recommended by our server, and it did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic, but the burgers deserve special recognition. Whoever was working the grill that night deserves a raise. Hands down, the best burger we had on our entire trip. The seasoning was perfect, the patties were thick and juicy, and they had an amazing char that took them to the next level. We also upgraded to the Aloha Fries, which were a great addition and definitely worth trying. From the outstanding food to the exceptional service, Coleman Public House exceeded our expectations in every way.
