I have taken my two pugs and my English bulldog to this resort for the last year. I have boarded them there as well as daycare. The last time I used them was March 6th. It was my son's birthday, so I knew we would be cutting it close to pick up Frankie (bulldog) by 4 (closing time). We arrived at 3:55 and my boyfriend waited in the lobby. As he was waiting, he heard one of the employees say, "when are they picking up this f$&king dog?" When she noticed my boyfriend in the lobby she said, "oh have you been waiting long?" I will never take my dogs there again. My dogs are my fur babies. Can you imagine if a teacher said that about a student? Same thing! No way! My partner and I dropped off our lil girls( pups) BELLA AND CHARLI to this tranquil, inviting and very clean doggie resort for an over nite stay. We were greeted promptly, and very nicely introduced to the doggie care taker. My puppy was excited and very anxious. The front desk person confidentially re assured me that my BELLA was going to b taken care of. ;) As we left our dogs were nicely escorted into the facility for the nite. We left feeling assured that out pooches were gonna have a nice and safe over-niter :) Upon return the following am, we were greeted at the window front as we were able to see our dogs playing happily in their SMALL DOGS area which is designed specifically to keep same sized dogs together and allow for proper socializing. I love that the facility only allows well mannered and tempured / mon aggressive canines that are fully immunized and in good spirits as well as love being a happy doggie. Excellent place to leave your pet. I left my pure-breed Maltese for 3 nites she was given lots of love; they posted pics on Instagram of her being hugged while we were on vacation. She was very happy there. They always answer the phones and give you updates while you are away. I will definitely use their resort again. I was very happy; but most important my doggie was also. This family owned business is amazing! The management team and their staff are very knowledgeable, and they have the biggest hearts. They truly love every animal that comes to their facility. Every time I have left my dogs there, I have always been greeted by the friendly staff, and the facility smells good when you walk in - doesn't reek like other places do. I think of it like walking into a nursing home. You want it to smell good...not like a bunch of old people just pissed their pants. I included a photo of the lobby area. It's really cute, and they have great products too. Everything is natural ingredients! The daycare area is really big with lots of fun stuff for the dogs to play on, and they always have plenty of water. Mostly my dogs just like to bark incessantly and piss on everything. The rooms for overnight stay are all nice and spacious, and they aren't in kennels or crates. I like knowing that my dog will be comfortable and not squished into a kennel. I wouldn't trust leaving my dogs anywhere else but flying high because I know that my dogs will be taken care of and loved while they are there. I have been using FHPR for over 2.5 years and now leave 2 dogs with them. I totally trust their care and my dogs practically break down their door to get in and then never want to leave. And I have two small wild doggies. Usually they are nice and tired when we get home. I find everyone to be very friendly and informative. They have a small shop in the front in case in you need a treat, bowl, funny t-shirt or whatever. They also feature local ancillary services for your dog, like dog training, grooming and teeth cleaning. I have used it all and highly recommend them. read more

Flying High is like family to us. I've been taking my dog Toby here since he was 6 months old. He turned 14 today and spent his birthday at Flying High, his favorite place to go. It is a second home to him, and he's always excited when we get there. I submitted an application for dog daycare and within minutes received a rejection phone messages stating that my Australian Shepherd's strong herding instinct made him inappropriate for daycare. I called to inquire how this decision was arrived at without an in person evaluation. I spoke with a young lady named Tasha, who was the person who made the decision to reject my dog on the grounds of his having a strong herding instinct. I questioned her about an in person evaluation and her response was that she has been "training dogs 14 years!" and she just knew it wouldn't work out. I have been training and obedience trialing Australian shepherds for over 30 years (much longer than Tasha has been alive! as well as training service dogs for a number of years. I did not appreciate her rude response and snap decision. This encounter tells me that these people know little to nothing about dogs, training or otherwise. Just to set the record straight: Yes, I am being argumentative. First: I was COMPLETELY honest on my application. Second: There was NO mention of Resource guarding other than this dog does NOT do it. He does not try to herd other dogs, just people. He has NEVER broken skin. Third: Tasha, whom I spoke with on the phone was quite rude and short. If these people had taken the time to actually assess the dog and speak to me, rather than making a snap decision this whole thing may have ended differently. I love my dog, but he is a dog. He does not have a wardrobe and a stroller. I have found another day care that understands herding dogs and is willing to meet this dog in person. read more

It's hard not to take things personal when you own an AmStaff but it's not her faUlt, it's the insurance for not allowing breeds that have unfortunately received bad raps due to owners that didn't train their dogs or did ill will to them. The bully breeds are the 2nd most tolerant dogs, next to the golden retrievers and amazing family dogs and are so great with kids. Hopefully some day they'll have a tolerance test for all breeds, large and small! read more

Everyone is conscientious and caring.....you just know they love all the dogs they care for. I have been taking my French Bulldog puppy here for a little over a month and we both love it! As soon as I pull into the parking lot, he is so excited and runs to the door to go play with his friends. The staff is wonderful and clearly spend tons of time hanging out with the dogs and getting to know their personalities. I love hearing how Buster behaved and what other dogs he enjoyed playing with. We have left him here for a few hours up to 10 hours, and every time our pup comes home happy and exhausted. 1. I love this cute doggy daycare/resort. It's very nicely setup with plenty of space for your pet. 2. The staff REALLY loves animals. They go out of their way to give individual attention to each pet. My Leah is a little skittish and has separation anxiety. The staff went out of their way to ensure that she was well taken care of and comfortable. 3. It's clean and they have cameras everywhere, so they're watching the animals very closely. Each area has a staff member at all times to ensure the animals are safe. 4. The little pets are separated from the big ones, which I think is great. 5. They're all very sweet and welcoming. Once you sign up, dropping off your pet is as easy as singing the sign in sheet. 6. One thing is, if you have a busy schedule, you'll have to ensure to plan. Drop offs are only in the mornings. Pick ups are anytime though, so that's a great plus. 7. I also love that I can leave my pet for just an hour if I choose. I love that they don't require the pets to stay all day! 8. You have to make an appointment/reservation if you want your pet to stay overnight. 9. The last but not least, it's super affordable. $5/hour. 2 years ago our rescue dog, a lab/ golden retriever named Backie, started having anxiety problems that went from manageable to bad. We took her to the vet who suggested we medicate her. We decided to research alternate options. After taking obedience classes and only seeing a small improvement we decided to see if doggy day care would help. That is when we found Flying High Pet Resort. Backie's first day was difficult as she easily scaled a 5 foot fence. Over the next couple of months the owner, Dawn Lopez, worked with Backie daily to make her feel comfortable and secure. Now when we take her to daycare she walks right in and waits to be let into the back with the other dogs. March of this year, when I was 7 months pregnant, I was involved in a car accident where we lost Backie for 6 days. Dawn Lopez and her great staff stepped up, searched for her everyday, checked the shelter, hung flyers, arranged search parties, and so much more. Flying High Pet Resort became to headquarters in the search for Backie. Knowing that the loving people at Flying High was searching and that they were doing everything they could gave me the peace of mind so I could rest & recover. They did not have to do any of this. They had their own lives, families, and a small business to run yet they took the time to lead the search for my lost pup. Flying High Pet Resort has made Backie a better dog. Socializing with other dogs and having company instead of being home alone has helped to quell some of her anxiety. Flying High Pet Resort is essential to Camarillo. I have been a client of Flying High Pet Resort for over a year. I take my chihuahua, Rico, to daycare there for socialization with other dogs and people. Rico is tiny - he's only five pounds - and prior to starting day care at Flying High, he was fearful and aggressive, not only with dogs, but with people too. And it was getting worse and worse. At our first visit to Flying High I was convinced the owner, Dawn, wouldn't let Rico attend daycare since he wasn't very friendly to her at all, and he was clearly not at all comfortable with other dogs even though he couldn't even see them, but only hear them! Not only did Dawn understand where Rico was coming from, she welcomed him with open arms and within his first few visits he became comfortable with the other dogs and a much more calm little guy there and at home! He loves going to spend a day there with his buddies. All the people at Flying High have been so wonderful, to Rico and to me. Friendly, caring and so dedicated to the dogs. About a year ago I adopted a Yellow Lab puppy named Duke and needed a place to take him during the day while I worked. This was my first experience with a dog daycare, so I wasn't really sure what to expect or how beneficial it would be for me AND my puppy. I completed the application online and within a few hours I received a call from Flying High to complete the application process. Since Duke was only 14 weeks at the time, he didn't need to have the required temperament check. (A must have for older dogs) The next day I dropped him off before work and called to check in on him midday. Luckily, everything was going really well and he was enjoying playing with the pack. When I picked him up, he was exhausted! A tired puppy is a good puppy! Since then, I've been taking Duke once a week (or more, depending) to Flying High. He literally can't wait to get out of my car when I drop him off. He burns so much of that crazy puppy energy that I can have an evening of snuggle time with him without him jumping all over the place! Without Flying High, I'd never get a chance to relax after a long work day! I refer people to Flying High almost daily and am so thankful that I can take Duke Thank you so much! I was offered a tour of the location over the phone. When I arrived the owner Dawn, showed me around. It is very impressive, clean, and a very Hi tech monitoring system that has cameras in every room. 2 large play areas for the dogs and private rooms for overnight visitors. A grooming area. A separate training area. They also have an isolated cat area in case you have a dog and a cat. My dog stayed most of the day with several other dogs and they all had a blast. Dawn and her staff take great pride in keeping the facility clean and sanitary. They also have constant human supervision for the pets. They truly care about all the pets that visit. Me and my family have been bringing our dogs here for many years because we love Flying High! When my little dog was younger he would love coming and playing with other dogs. I also left him several times for overnight stays and he always came back happy and healthy. He's older now, and low energy so when I got a puppy I knew I needed to bring her to daycare so she didn't harass her brother (as younger siblings tend to do). I was taking my dog there for boarding and daycare. I work a lot out of the area and my daughter does a lot of tournaments because of softball. I needed a place to board my dog. This was the first place I found. I found that I wasn't able to go inside to look at the place pretty odd. I just figured that maybe they had a few dogs that go crazy with strangers. My dog easily passed 4 hour test without any problem. I would take her to daycare just every now and then. I would board her about once or twice a year since I was able to take her with me during my work trips and my brother-in-law always wanted to care for my dog during my daughters tournaments. I used this place for a about two years. I didn't have any problem with them. When I picked up my dog I always asked how it went and how was she. I was always told she was fine and all went well. The one thing I did notice every time I picked her up was the she always needed a bath afterwards. She is almost 100% inside dog. I put her in my backyard only when I go to work so she doesn't have to hold it in all day. I asked about her smelling and was told it was because the other dogs smell and rub against each other. Ok no problem. I'll just take her a bath each time. The last time I took my dog for daycare. I showed up to pick her up and noticed three patches of hair missing. They were large patches and in no way could they be missed. I asked what happened to my dog. The girl here just said what do you mean? I told her to look at my dog she has hair missing in patches. She just looked and said ooh ya. I asked again what happened. She said she just got here and didn't know anything. Then went to the back to ask. The girl just told me no one knew what happened. I was upset so I just left with my dog. When I got home I examined my dog throughly and saw 4 holes on my dogs back legs. I got a phone call from the owner the next day asking how my dog was. I told her how I found her and she just said that dogs play rough. I told her that she should be the one to control how rough the dogs play. Missing hair and holes that look like bite marks is more then rough play. I knew she wasn't going to do anything about it . Anyway I have not taken my dog back since and they have not tried to contact me since. As a dog owner I take care of my dog and protect it from harm. My dog is trained well beyond most so called trained dogs. If this place can't answer me what happened to my dog truthfully. Then I know that proper care and the minimum supervision is not given. I guess that is why the place doesn't allow anyone into the animal areas in the bank. OMG!!! I can't believe that once I posted what happened you called within a matter of an hour. First of all get your story straight when you call your old clients. When you called I asked why you called and how you knew it was me that wrote the review . You told me that you didn't want you write back on this site and want to talk in person. Well you wrote back ! You still to this day don't know what happened to my dog. You deny not talking to me back then 4 years ago but you wrote that you told me that puppies play rough. So are you not telling the truth now or did you lie to me on the phone. Now to help get you story straight let me tell you a few things. 1. On the day of the incident my dog was not a puppy. She was over two years old and over 60lbs. She was no puppy. 2. My dog is not a hairy goat, so learn your animals. 3. My dog is my pet. She is not my daughter. My family and I are not dogs. 4. You did not attempt then or now to make me happy or care for my dog. After the phone call back 4 years ago nothing!! 5. I never said she had hair missing and had scrapes on her back leg. She had hair missing on her back and neck. She also had holes and a leg! Scrapes and holes are two very different things. 6. I did not tell you my concerns about your place and I NEVER APOLOGIZED!!!! You did almost all the talking . Once you said we never talked before that was it for me talking. I just let you talk. Remember!! 7. What you tried doing on the phone was you trying to down play what happened. Just like what you wrote is down playing what happened! I pretty sure you thought by calling that I would change my review but you knew by the end of the phone call that I wasn't going to do that. That why you wrote a response even though you said you didn't want to do that. What you are doing is called DOWN PLAYING! 8. We're so lucky we found this place. We have two French Bulldogs who we bring in for daycare at least three days a week. It feels like leaving the dogs with family. Flying High is awesome! We take out 2 dogs there (2yo golden-doodle and 1yo pure golden) whenever we can. They are exhausted by the time we pick them up. All I have to do is say "Who wants to go to flying high?" and they go nuts. They love it there and we love the staff. Plus their new facility is beautiful. They even took care of our golden-doodle when we had to go out of town and he couldn't play due to a surgery. We drive from Westlake Village to drop our dogs off. It's out of the way but worth it for our pups. Plus their prices blow away anything in Thousand Oaks/Westlake area. We'll be back next week! read more

My dog loves this place and the people who work there. He goes about once a week and I tell him that "he's going to go play with his friends" and he waits by the door. When we get there he practically runs inside. The staff is always friendly and if I ask, they always tell me what he's done that day. Boomer is a very high energy dog and always comes back tired... :) We board Boomer every once and a while, once for a week and I knew he was in good hands while we were gone. The staff always takes the time to say hello to him before taking him from me and I know that he gets attention while he is there. We don't have children yet, so Boomer is my baby...
