This place caught my interest due to the name so I thought I would check it out. It's very unassuming in a strip mall. But once inside you can see why it's popular. Nearly every table was taken with happy customers. They have take out service as well as sit down. I did both. Of course! First I got my son a chocolate brownie so he would drop complaining long enough for me to order something and sit down to eat. I'm on a meal plan but I sound a good salad with eggs. I only ate half the bacon but it's tasty. The bread is out of this world. Never tasted anything like it. I felt the waitresses were OK but a bit standoffish. They weren't super friendly or helpful. But they were competent. They lost a star due to the fact that I wasn't made to feel super welcomed which is a trait I seek out from restaurants. This is a review that is a bummer to leave, because I believed Flying With Jerome to be a great brunch spot in the area that I've been going to for well over 5 years. Apparently, Jerome sold the business (good for him and well-deserved) and I called to ask if they still did take out. A French gentleman said yes and so I said I'd call back when ready or order. Called again and got a different individual who then argued that they don't do take out and after explaining the other gentleman said yes, they hung up. I called back, got the same individual, I was clearly annoyed and so they all of the sudden were willing to take my order. Halfway through the order, that same person hung up. I could hear the phone hang up both times, it wasn't disconnected. I will never be going back to this once-great restaurant. Very disappointing and I've never black-listed a restaurant before (or even written a poor review), but this was insulting. I am sure the new owners don't want customers to deal with service like this, so hopefully they see this and can fix these issues. read more

Stopped for lunch today. First impression - a nice French storefront bistro, clean inside. I noticed the menu clearly says (twice) there is an additional charge for substitutions or modifications. Then I looked up and there is a sign on the wall to the same effect. So be careful. They must be serious. The food was very good. I had a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was juicy and an ample portion. Fresh parmesan cheese. My lettuce was slightly brown on the edges. Not bad enough to say anything but I would have given 5 stars otherwise. Sophia had the mushroom and goat cheese quiche with a side salad. Delicious. The iced tea was excellent and served in a glass instead of a plastic cup. I saw so many has post about the French Toast. As a result, we have ordered one to try. The toast is soft. Although they are all yellow out cover with scramble egg, I still cannot feel to much egg on the toast compare to the one I cook by my own. We ordered a piece of the Pistachio cherry Tart. We were debate to get this tart or the Apricot Flan. We were glad have tart. It has rich enough pistachio top with cherry. It is one of the best tart I have and it is special. I have the Egg Benedict for my close up. It come with choice of bacon or ham. I have pick the bacon. This is the best dish among the selection. The egg yolks is liquidity and the egg white just like jello. Now you know you have a good porch egg. The service is good, but our waiter for get our water initially. They used to be the best. I would literally come from far away to eat here. Staff is nice and continues to be so nice! However, the last two times the pastries were stale, and the cheese on my sandwich had something that look like mold. The french onion soup was pretty much water. To be fair, I have only had their pastries and coffees. I have never had their breakfasts or sandwiches. I have tried every pastry and I have loved them all. It is about the pie crust. Pie crust has a lot of calories and I do not want to waste my calories eating some soggy piece of piece crust. I only eat pie crust when it is perfect. Perfect is hard to find on the humid East Coast. So finding this place made Florida worth living in. Their pie crust is sweet and crisp, like a beautiful cookie bed for the filling. But they are not too sweet. Actually, a little light on the sweetness, and I love that. My favorite is the cherry pistachio. The pear tart is good and the lemon cream is to die for. I will fly with Jerome any time. You should too! When you have an opportunity to sample real croissants (not the utter crap available at Publix or Panera), brioche, fruit tarts, and anything else Jerome decided to bake, do not hesitate. He only uses the finest ingredients like imported butter. Did you know butter in the US is actually 20% not butter (perhaps the remainder is water...)! In Europe or from a very few specialized small butter producers, you get 86% butterfat butter by default. In other words, more of the butter is actually butter and this difference, combined with other high-quality ingredients and then straight-from-France baking expertise, produces pastries that will simultaneously blow your mind and tantalize your tastebuds. The almond croissant I just finished was beyond delicious and also, huge! The other items we got (sorry, I can't pronounce them and I didn't write done what they were) were equally stupendous! They do serve brunch until 3pm and then dinner later in the evening on weekends only. I mention this because if you arrive a little after 3, the kitchen is closed for the changeover and you will need to survive on pastry and espresso alone. Why 5 stars? Because what was on my plate came straight from the heavens above France. --- --- --- I've seen to many of my fellow Yelpers sing the praises of Flying With Jerome to pass on venturing here myself. The verdict? Absolutely wonderful and worth every inch of the 20 mile drive from my house. My fiance and I shared a Ham & Cheese Croissant and an order of french toast. Both were utterly perfection. The croissant was typical, but amazing with its flaky outside and cheesy center. But I think the french toast was the star of the show. it was a bit different than your average french toast, which started with the brioche bread. At first I wasn't sure what to think about it, but it grew on me with every bite. By the end, I felt like singing in my booth, which would have made for a poor experience for the other customers. If you haven't been to Flying With Jerome yet, put it very high on your to-do list! read more

Everyone should climb onboard and begin Flying With Jerome! We stopped by for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. We began our flight at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. We were greeted and seated by our server (Whitney). After a quick review of the menu and hearing the specials of the day, we first opted for some soup. We ordered the Onion Soup and the Cauliflower Soup ($2.75 each). (see pics) Both were quite good but the standout was the Cauliflower with it's bright distinctive flavor. For entrées, we ordered the Croque Sandwich ($10.50) and the Omelette Salmon Brie ($10.25). (see pics) The Croque sandwich was rich tasty and loaded with ham and cheese. The cheese sauce gave it a velvety texture that was wonderful. The Omelette was chocked full of smoked salmon and a nice wedge of melted brie. Both entrées came with the option of fries or a small salad. GET THE FRIES! You will not be sorry. Succumbing to our 'sweet teeth', we couldn't leave without getting something from their pastry case. (see pics) We opted for a Chocolate Eclair ($2.50) and a wedge of Tropezienne ($3.75). OMG! We are definitely coming back to see Jerome and join him on his flight! We have been trying new breakfast places recently and flying with Jerome with their high reviews were one of the options. A lot of highly reviewed places have disappointed us recently but Flying with Jerome definitely deserves it's high ratings. First of all I'll like to point out that the food is quite affordable and delicious. It's definitely not a $$ but a $ restaurant as the cheapest sandwiches are quite inexpensive and filling. We got a breakfast sandwich, perfect eggs croissant, mushroom and goat cheese quiche ( one of the best quiches I've ever had), and finished off with a chocolate eclaire. Service was nice as well. The only request I'll have is that if the cream for the coffee is fresh rather than in mini single containers, it'll complete the whole experience. read more

Small cafe located in a strip mall (a few doors down from Olga's & across the street from Big Lots for those looking for well-known landmarks). I noticed while I was there, the sign on the door was flipped to CLOSED but they were most definitely open so double check if you're not sure - you really don't want to miss out of the deliciousness served here! I got a latte, bacon & egg croissant, and the kids portion (1 piece of bread) brioche French toast. Everything was tasty. The French toast was, bar far, the best French toast I've ever had in my entire life!! It didn't even need syrup or the yummy homemade jam it's served with. Get the French toast, you won't be sorry. It's also served with a generous portion of tropical fruit. The breakfast sandwich croissant was so flaky and fresh, the kind I'd love to serve a chicken salad sandwich on. Flying with Jerome was so good I went twice in less than 4 days. The second time was just as amazing as the first. We came across Jerome's on YELP a few weeks ago and last minute decided to try something else. We finally got around to checking it out last Saturday and it was literally amazing - fantastic - superb. After reading Brett's review we had to try the french toast and thank the lord we did, it was the BEST french toast I have ever had ever. It's 4 triangles of tasty brioche french toast with a healthy portion of fruit salad it comes with homemade jam that is so good you don't even need to bother with syrup. In addition to the french toast between the two trips we sampled an egg, bacon, and brie croissant, the egg sandwich, scrambled eggs with bacon, the orange caramel crepe, the buttercream stuffed brioche donut, and the lemon tart. The eggs, bacon and brie croissant was amazing. The eggs were so perfectly cooked and seasoned while the brie was melty deliciousness. The egg sandwich consisted of scrambled eggs, bell peppers, onions, chorizo and swiss cheese on a ciabatta roll - it was also super tasty. The eggs and bacon were on the side during our second trip the eggs again were perfect and the side of bacon was literally like 6-7 slices of delicious extra crispy bacon. The orange caramel crepe was only $2.50 and was sweet, light, airy, and crazy good. The buttercream stuffed brioche donut was a little underwhelming, the donut was a bit dense and dry and the cream had a very light flavor to it. I was yelping and thought I should try this place. I'm impressed! Ordered french toast, waffles, chocolate croissant and croissant sandwich. Everything was excellent. I like a savory breakfast but wanted to try the French toast. It was nice and moist. Love the strawberry jam it comes with. I think they make it in house. But for the cost I would stick with the breakfast sandwich and pastry. The coffee was great too! Coffee and sandwich will keep u under $10. We also ordered the French onion soup. But I still think cafe de Paris is first on my list. I like the cheese crispy. The soup still had good flavor. I would like to try the cauliflower cream soup next time. Back to the croissant and why everyone has commented why this was great. Really flaky and messy! They must use real butter. I love this type of croissant...you can get this by just toasting it. The saddest part is I don't have photos of two of my fav pastries from this place because I had them a different time and didn't snap a pick. We ordered two pastries from the beginning along with our two meals. I don't know the names but the first was another custard tart with strawberries and the other was like a creme brûlée filling in brioche bread with powdered sugar. Again both delicious. My hubby had a cheese and bacon omelet. Instead of cut up the bacon was left in full strips in the omelet. I decided to order the croissant madame because I felt like having a croissant and Ive never actually had a croque madame (a French specialty) so I wanted to try it. I found this little Gem while looking for Breakfast nearby on Yelp and was elated when I saw there was a French Pastry shop. To my surprise it was so much more. Today I had for breakfast the Eggs Feuillete and it was DEELISH! The Cappuccino was just ok. Good but not European good. If you've been to France or Italy you know the coffee alone is worth the trip. My daughter had the Brioche French Toast (I sort of made her so I could try that too ha ha) and let me tell you it is everything and more the other reviews state. Very few times in my life have I done the eye roll while eating something and say out loud "oh my dayum that's good" this was one of those times "But of course" (in French accent) we did not leave without loading up on the French pastries. As of today 17MAY2020 the restaurant is open to 25% occupancy. The bacon was crispy, the pastries delicate and delectable (try the cream donut - not overly sweet), and beautiful to boot. I had eaten there once before and I liked the food so I thought I would bring my family and friends here but the next time I came with a very good friend for breakfast my friend asked to substitute out goat cheese for the Brie. Waitress said no problem, but when bill came they added on money for the substitution. The waitress didn't let us know at the time. My friend thought it was wrong but flying with Jerome said too bad. I love finding places to eat through Yelp. Sometimes it's by searching, sometimes it's by places they've featured, but sometimes it's just as simple as seeing a Yelp friend check in to a place over and over again (Hi Jerry!). I've had Flying With Jerome bookmarked for so long but it's located at what I politely call "the other side of the world". I finally decided to make the hour drive to try it. You just don't expect to find a stellar French bakery in an older strip mall next to a laundry service, but that is the case here. I can confidently say I never would have found this place in a million years on my own. It was interesting to read the background of the owner. He's been a pastry chef in the French military and around the world. I purposely didn't look at the beautiful treats in the display case too much because as a dessert fiend that's all I would focus on. We were able to sample both the French toast and the waffles, both of which had fruit scattered amongst the servings. It was a delicious breakfast! As for the desserts there was an overwhelming amount to choose from. There were tarts, cakes, macaroons, brownies, donuts, flan, croissants, etc. I ended up with a chocolate eclair and it was wonderful. In probably the most tragic mistake of the year we forgot to buy any desserts to take with us. This place was suggested to me and I've been excited to give it a try. It wasn't until just now scrolling down that I see there is no more Jerome. The issue is who ever is doing the cooking and baking is not very good at it. The croissant was greasy and not made of quality ingredients. The breakfast crepe with eggs was overly oily and not palatable. I didn't even finish it. Perhaps the regular baker and cook are on vacation ? The ladies who wait on the tables are lovely. 1st and last visit for me. They get a crowd in there so other people really like this place. read more
