The absolute best breakfast going ... We found this place by searching on Yelp for best brunches in Clearwater - we are from here and we're looking for something different. What a treat! I cannot describe how delicious the food is here. I've had the cheese omelet a couple of times - and I know what you're thinking, "cheese omelet / so what!". You could not be more wrong - the cheeses include bleu cheese and Brie with a couple other white cheeses for the PERFECT mix. My husband always orders different items to get the full experience. This place was suggested to me and I've been excited to give it a try. It wasn't until just now scrolling down that I see there is no more Jerome. The issue is who ever is doing the cooking and baking is not very good at it. The croissant was greasy and not made of quality ingredients. The breakfast crepe with eggs was overly oily and not palatable. I didn't even finish it. Perhaps the regular baker and cook are on vacation ? Fresh, Buttery, Fluffy, Crispy and Delicious.. That is exactly how I would describe my Sandwich at Flying with Jerome today. From the Crossaint that's baked in house, to the crisp Bacon, Fresh Spinach & Tomato, and perfectly cooked over medium eggs that dripped with each bite. I'm sorry , but I love that:-) and Real Swiss Cheese. Yes Folks, I said real Swiss because sometimes you go to restaurants that advertise real Swiss In the sandwich and it is not. It's more like white American (Ghetto) They're not fooling anybody with that. It was Perfection. My mom agreed, and also loved hers with the Salmon . Last time , I had the Cheese Bread Sandwich. That sandwich is definitely NOT for the weak cheese eater. It is strong!!! So, if you're into strong cheeses you will love it. If not, you won't be able to handle it. It has Bleu Cheese, Parmesan and Brie that will literally drop kick your tastebuds, and it's also served on .. Surprise! Cheese Bread . They also throw yellow raisins to sweeten it a bit and balance out the saltiness , nuts & greens , with a dab of dressing which I believe is a Vinaigrette of some sort. Again, interesting and tasty sandwich, but not for the weak. I usually like a crispier Crepe which is not served here. The Crepes here are delicate, kind of like a Swedish pancake, very enjoyable. The Tropical fruit on top made it smell and taste extra delicious, and I loved the cinnamon cream sauce or fruit jam they serve with it. It really made this crepe unique. The Eggs Benedict is SO GOOD, but I think they only have this on weekends. Call to make sure if you're coming for this. Get this with its usual side of mashed potato & salad with vinaigrette dressing. You won't be sorry. So so good. .. and the Brioche French Toast.. Fantastic, Period! Fruits served along with it varies depending on what seasonal fruits are available, but just Outstanding French Toast. One of the items that I've personally ordered on several visits. My Favorite. I enjoy this place. Everything is made in house with love , using quality ingredients, from all the breads they use for the dishes, the jams, sauces etc. They even use organic eggs, and it's always a pleasure supporting my local businesses. Looking for something new for breakfast but lite and tasty so we tried this new spot...Located at the corner of Belcher and Nursery Road in Clearwater is a hidden gem with authentic European bistro. Jérôme the owner is truly a French master baker and chef with amazing croissants, tarts, and pastries of all types made fresh in house daily, as well as proper bistro meals. Excellent omelettes, crepes, sauces, salads, entrees, wines and European coffee. Great prices. The staff are all amazing with OUTSTANDING customer service. Amanda is truly a ball of life and fun. What a surprise to find this bakery In a somewhat sketch neighborhood! I stopped in the other day To get some fresh baked goods. They have a variety of pastries Many croissants and tarts. They take their baking seriously. It's like a work of art! They also offer classes So you can make their treats at home. I'd rather let them do it So I'm not eating all alone! What a treat it was tonight to fly with Jerome. I had stopped in a couple of times this week to get some of the finest French pastries that I've had in a long long time. I had mentioned to Jerome earlier this week that I'd like to stop by for his dinner which is only served on Friday and Saturday night. He told me that on Fridays that they usually are slammed, so my wife and I decided that we'd opt for the Saturday night dinner, it was a great choice. Our server Raglimar or Ragli for short, was very sweet and attentive. She answered all our questions that we had about the menu. We both ordered the onion soup, which we enjoyed very much. Next we shared a caprese salad that was delicious with a pesto vinaigrette drizzled over it. My entrée was fettuccine with a light tomato-based sauce with pieces of chicken, olives, tomatoes, with large slivers of Parmesan cheese melding into it. Very good. My wife's entrée was seared scallops with a mushroom risotto cream sauce. And here is where it gets a little crazy. My wife is the most critical diner I know of. Nothing seems to please her 100%. Well, not so with this entrée, she said if she could give 10 stars she would! I was able to taste a bit of her entrée, and have to agree that Jerome knocked this entrée out of the park! That's what I'm having the next time we dine here. We finished our meal with the a delicious crème brûlée and a cappuccino. We are looking forward to our next flight with Jerome! read more

So disappointed. I have no clue what has happened. When we first starting going here for breakfast the food was to die for! Very unique and always tasty and hot. I think Covid did them in.....now it is simply overpriced and blah. The breakfast salad used to be AMAZING, one of the main reasons we would visit. Full disclosure, I have only been here to get to go items from the bakery. French pastries are my downfall. Flying with Jerome is my new go to place for croissants in Pinellas County. The restaurant is located in an older strip mall between a laundry mat and a bar with a package store. Location aside, the interior is clean, open and offers booth seating as well as high and low top tables. Because I always have my little one with me, we have used the bathroom which was very clean. Back to the croissants, Flying with Jerome always has on hand plain and chocolate croissants. Biting into the flakey, crunchy outside with soft melt in your mouth insides, their croissants are truly the best. They often have special flavors and varieties too such as Apple or Pear. We have also tried their chocolate eclairs, soft pastry outside with chocolate filling and chocolate glaze - this is way better than any eclair from a chain donut shop. We have also had various fruit tarts, Raspberry, Blueberry, mixed fruit... all very tasty. As often as I have gotten to go, I haven't yet had time to have a meal here. Soon I will remedy that and I will update my review then. Right now they get 5 stars for the best French pastries in the area. read more

My husband stumbled across this place by accident and now I can't keep him away! The food is amazing and the service is always friendly. It looks like a little hole in the wall in a crappy plaza but it's cute on the inside and the food is always amazing. Breakfast sandwich to die for. Light perfectly baked crispy croissant made in house as this is a bakery also, Bacon, cheese (really good quality Swiss), fresh tomato and eggs anyway you'd like. Served with a nice light salad. Awesome! Husband had the french onion soup which he said was good. Broth had a nice beefy/homemade flavor. He wasn't thrilled with his breakfast crepe but only because they didn't have crispy edges. The quality of the ingredients was good. My only complaint was needed better AC. It was almost too hot inside to finish our meal. I'm sure it's hard to keep a small bakery cool though in the middle of summer in Florida;) read more

Amazing. Jerome is super nice and such a fabulous chef. We went with friends and tried almost everything. The new hazelnut eclair was delicious. Meringue was excellent as well. The Napoleon had a great texture and just the right hint of sweetness, not the overbearing kind you get with American sweets. My favorite thing wasn't a pastry though, it's the pomme frites (French fries). You simply MUST get them! I decided to order something a little different off the extensive brunch menu, and went with a goat cheese and chorizo omelet. OMG. Everyone at my table tried it and the usual response was, "Holy ****". If you've never had your eggs done perfectly, you should come here. My boyfriend got some breakfast crepes with scrambled eggs, and you guessed it, they were Julia Childs perfect. Highly recommend (obviously) and we will definitely be back. read more

Amazing! Wow! I hate overly sweet pastries or pastries lacking flavor that are just overly sugary. These are delicately and deliciously made with love! I have never eaten in the restaurant section so I cannot comment on the bistro fair, but I have purchased pastries on more than one occasion, every time hoping the quality will improve. It's been several months since I've been there so I tried again today and was so disappointing with both products: I got an elephant ear palmier which should be thin and crispy with the butter sugar taste in every bite - it was thick and was just like a regular puff pastry-no butter flavor within sight - it also had a stale taste. I also tried the fig tart - What should have been a beautiful crisp buttery crust was soggy! And the custard filling was thick & dry - not deliciously creamy but like it had way too much cornstarch in it; the figs were not sliced well but left in half so you had the thick underside which made it difficult to eat. This is the third of fourth time I've tried to rooms and have been disappointed every time - just because the name is French does not mean it's the quality of France. read more

I've been here for both brunch and dinner in the last few weeks. Brunch was definitely the standout meal. I had the eggs Norwegian, which were cooked perfectly, with fries on the side that were thin and crispy. Value was pretty good for the quality of ingredients and preparation. Dinner is only served on Fridays and Saturdays, and was a disappointment. The bread served prior to dinner was soft and bland, and I wish it was more baguette-style with crispy exterior. The charcuterie plate was small and underwhelming. The brie was good, but none of the meats were a standout, and I wish they replaced the small bit of lettuce with something tastier like grapes or olives or nuts, and included some bread or crackers. For my entree I had the mussels with white wine sauce. The quantity of mussels was good and the sauce tasty, but they should be careful to not serve closed mussels. The meal came with fries that were nowhere near as delicious as the ones I had for brunch, and were overdone and limp. I can't believe they even served them. My boyfriend had the duck, which was tasty, but the presentation as a few cut up pieces, with limp fries on the side, left something to be desired. Something this place will need to overcome is the decor. It is very difficult to eat in there and feel like you are somewhere special. There are painted "windows" on the wall with beach scenes, some Colorado license plates, a TV. The seating is cheap restaurant decor that was probably from a prior restaurant. Overall I'm glad something like this exists in Clearwater, but they need to improve on consistency and quality if they are going to serve dinner, and improve the setting so that it matches the style of food. read more

This place has been on my list of places to sample. When we walked in and saw the beautiful French pastry treats laid out on display we were intrigued. We ordered a pineapple croissant. It is a flakey croissant topped with a dollop of custard and sweet tangy pineapple all baked till golden deliciousness. Next we ordered eggs feuillete- Perfectly poached eggs with puff pastry, chorizo, asparagus over mashed potatoes. It comes normally with bacon but I substituted chorizo. Homemade hollandaise that was velvety smooth with a hint of citrus. The service was efficient and cheerful.. Awesome breakfast/brunch spot in a tiny strip mall. Who knew? I had been putting off coming here because it wasn't a direction I usually went and I was afraid it might be too crowded on the weekend. Fortunately, I had to drop off the car for service on US 19 and this morning we finally took the plunge. In a word, it was excellent. The front was attractive and inviting, the interior warm with just enough bric-a-brac to make it feel pleasant. There are about six upholstered booths and maybe 10 tables, pleasant enough without being cloying. But the food!! The food was worth writing home about. My wife had crepes with ham and cheese and I had a flat omelet, both with sides of fruit. We each had a cappuccino. The cappuccini were well prepared, a rich espresso as a base without being overly sweet, but the steamed milk adding just enough richness. The waitress was bubbly and efficient. My wife has been wanting crepes for years and I hoped that someone finally knew what they were. I needn't have worried as they were perfectly cooked, not dark brown but just light enough that you could taste the essence of buckwheat. The filling was simple enough, ham and a swiss style cheese, but the quality was a real step up from the usual fillings. It was simple and yet stunningly good. My omelet was kind of a test because I was anxious to try the quiche, but I wanted to see what the chef would do with the lowly egg. Again, I needn't have worried as this was the best flat omelet I have tasted in years. It had some fresh spinach, cheese, tomato slices and mushrooms, but it wasn't like they were mushed together like a casserole. Instead the egg itself was perfectly seasoned with no brown on the edges, the eggs were suitably soft and yet the simple flavor was perfect. The filling was such that I tasted each of the ingredients separately instead of together. What a marvelous rendition of an omelet! The fruit was served in a little cup, but each of the pieces was cut to a suitable size, I have come to expect the occasional unripe piece of fruit in such, but there was none. Instead there was melon, honeydew, a few grapes, pineapple and perhaps something else, but it wasn't something out of a can, but instead something with which someone had prepared with great care. It was quite good to find such care being applied into something usually so ancillary. I took home a slice of the pear tart which looked too good not to try, but I won't have that until after dinner. As it is, I was not only pleased by the meal, but overjoyed. My wife was so happy with actual crepes that she stopped at the door and thanked me with a kiss. It's the subtleties which make food great and Jerome's has it in spades. I hope we will be returning soon. read more
