When I heard there was a dedicated gluten free restaurant in Dunedin I had to work it into my trip. I stopped here for a late lunch and ordered the grilled chicken with sweet plantain. Since the bread had dairy in it, they offered me their dairy free bread. I also ordered a peanut butter cookie. Everything was so good and so happy I made a stop here. What a little gem! Read the reviews and thought it to be another breakfast spot. Grabbed some pasta dishes and they were fire. Spag and Meatballs, Bolognese and Mami Mia Penne. The winner was the Mami Mia. Added chicken and some marinara to make it Pink sauce. Just delish. The marinara is really good. The meatballs were good - a little tougher than normal but this is GF! Wait, what? A totally gluten free bakery and restaurant in Dunedin? Yes!! And it is amazing. Just south of the Michigan Blvd stoplight on Bayshore. For $7.99 (May, 2026), I had two eggs, bacon, house made potatoes, two pieces of thickly sliced gluten-free toast, garnished with a slice of orange and pineapple. Nice presentation, too. See photo. It was more than I could eat. The staff was friendly and attentive. It's not a large restaurant. Decor is American diner with a Miami vibe. But the best parts of the restaurant are the three bakery display cases, each filled with a wide variety of pastries, cookies and breads. I had a gf chocolate chip cookie. Large, chock full of chocolate chips, chewy, not dry. You wouldn't know it was gf. If you are, like me, a Celiac, live in the Tampa Bay Area or if you're visiting, get thee to Miami Mia. Wow I was so shocked to see a full gluten free dinner and bake shop in Dunedin FL. The coffee was great and the quiche was very good. I love that it was served with a salad. The dinner was very quiet and clean and they have so many baked goods to choose from. The service was fast and they even helped us pick out some baked goods to bring home after lunch. This place is truly something special. As someone who has to be extremely mindful of gluten, being able to walk into a restaurant and not worry about cross-contamination is an incredible feeling. Getting to share food with my husband without hesitation or second-guessing feels like such a luxury, something many people don't realize how meaningful that is. Everything here is thoughtfully made, and the desserts are always fresh, delicious, and beautifully done with a great variety to choose from. You can tell there's real care behind what they do. There is indoor tales with booths or tables available, and outside seating with umbrella coverage. This place oozes charm from every corner. It's 100% dedicated gluten free, and has crispy chicken sandwiches, plus spaghetti and meatballs which my partner devoured. There's an amazing selection of desserts, and also something way too rare: the elusive hand pie. I ordered the spinach hand pie twice because of course we had to come back! Our waitress recommendations were a waffle...HUGE with fruit that wasn't on the menu. My wife had the grouper sandwich, very good. Glad we got there a bit early as a Monday night it got very crowded very fast. Great service though. Our granddaughter was spending the weekend with us, and she has gluten allergies. We wanted to take her someplace special, and my wife found Mami Mia online. We are so glad we chose them over a couple other area options! First, it just screams "local diner" when you pull up, as it's tucked in front of a small motel. There's a lot of outside seating, too -- which is all we thought it would be until we went INSIDE. Wow, what an amazing little place they have here! A mixture of tables and booths, nestled into more roadside diner decor. Nothing over the top, just perfect. Ahead of you is this long glass display case filled with every delicious baked good you could desire -- and all gluten free! We grabbed a seat, were given menus, and then quickly were greeted by Aiden, our server. He told us how the bakers/cooks are the owners, and that they've been open for just a couple of months. You wouldn't guess that though, with how many people were here for dinner, or coming and going with pick up orders. There's was a large party next to us who ordered before us, and the smell of their food was enough to drive you crazy, and then the site of their desert orders, too -- cakes and pies that blew us away just looking at them! My granddaughter ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a side of fries, and my wife and I weren't too hungry, so we ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with yucca fries to share. (They also serve Coke products for fountain drinks) My granddaughter kept getting so excited that she didn't have to worry, and could order anything on that large menu! She loved the pizza, and it was enough that she brought half home. The fries were perfectly done, as were our yucca fries. Our Philly tasted delicious, the only suggestion I would make is for it to be served more on a roll than a bun, just so it can hold all the ingredients in with them spilling on the plate with each bite. We had to get going to a family event, so we grabbed a Carmel Apple hand pie to go (think: empanada). My granddaughter is already planning ing daddy-daughter dates for her and our son, and to have her birthday party there in the spring!! Honestly it was pretty good, I just expected more flavor from this place since the ratings where good but everything was just okay, service was okay, food was okay, and it was definitely cutesy, can't complain much, just that me personally I got thrown off by the strawberry since it had some mold all over it, however my bf still ate the French toast that came with the strawberry and said that the French toast was good so overall a good place for ppl who are gluten free! But for others who want more flavor in their food... Stopped by Mami Mia on their Grand Opening Day which was Saturday, August 23rd. It was later in the afternoon, & they were very happy to see us. They are a gluten free restaurant, bakery, & cafe. We simply wanted some type of dessert, so we checked that out. We chose a raspberry cheesecake & a dulce de leche cheesecake. They were good. This new bakery and restaurant had its grand opening today! I had the privilege of being there thanks to a heads up by yelper @Rachel! It was a packed house of excited locals and an amazing display of gluten free baked goods! Cakes, pies, savory and sweet empanadas, cookies and more! If I could give more than five stars I would! My daughter is celiac and the look on her face was priceless when we told her she could order anything she wanted! The rest of our family do not have allergies and we all really enjoyed our food as well. Standout dishes: fettuccine alfredo, brioche buns for all their sandwiches, pancakes, watermelon salad, and the latte! Our serve was very sweet and the food came out in an appropriate time. This place is so cute! Was greeted the moment I walked in with smiles from all employees. I got a vanilla latte which was nothing special and I really wish they had more than 1 size. The gravy was a really flavorful chunky ragu with tomato and onion. Absolutely fabulous. I 'accidentally' said it was really good and felt my grandmother tuen in her grave. For desert I had key lime pie. It was a dense cheesecake with a hint of lime favor, not the kind that punches you in the face. Crust was thick, but that is par-for-the-course with gluten free pies. We ordered cinnamon rolls, a brownie and some cookies for the road. All so decadent and tasty! I highly recommend the place. I've been gluten free for a decade, and I have never had the opportunity to look at entire menu and have so many options. Sure, there are amazing dedicated gluten free restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area (albeit not many), but none have as big of a variety and selection as Mami Mia. We went the day before the grand opening and tried the gnocchi, the Caesar salad (with the best croutons I've ever had), a chocolate cheesecake, and a quiche (with crust OMG.) everything was a 10/10. My son and I stopped in the other day to get some cookies to go, and they were also incredible. Met a friend here for brunch. I'm not gluten free but my friend is. This place is cute as a button inside. The coffee was good; that's important to me. I had the spinach quiche which is served with a side salad -- both delicious. I found out you could get just one pancake, so I got a banana pancake on the side. It was quite big and also very good. By the time I finished it all, I was stuffed so I was not able to get a dessert, but let me tell you -- everything in that dessert case looked incredible. Next time I'll one of those cinnamon rolls.
