Let's start with what deserves 5 stars. Atmosphere, my waitress and the spinach and artichoke dip-it's probably one of the best I've had in a restaurant in recent years. We were sat at a table with multiple flies around it that we swatted at the whole meal. I didn't eat a corner of my sandwich because a fruit fly got comfy on it. We should have known better, but my husband likes seafood and ordered the platter for $25 which was comprised of nothing freshly battered, all frozen. I ordered a burger, medium that was cooked well. That was probably best because it didn't taste fresh. $11, no fries, which was okay if it would have been a good cut of ground beef. I was hoping for a better experience but I felt the place fell really short of what was expected. Service was good but they had a lot of issues to deal with. We had a group of 8 and came by for crawfish. It wasn't bad at all but not the best I've had and really pricey since everyone near them were selling for less than $6.50 a pound on Sunday. We didn't get a brunch menu and that is why we were there but didn't realize they had brunch until we saw another table with waffles. I want some waffles!! Fish wasn't good, chips and queso came out with the food and was cold by the time we got it. They ran out of iced tea but we continued to see servers walk out with tea. (Not trying drink All day) I felt that they might have been under staffed because staff was very nice and helpful but lacked persistence. Not sure I will be going back because there are too many options in the area that check all the customer service boxes and for a better price. Lots of outdoor seating that is dog friendly and they have heaters for when it's cold and TVs outside too. The food is yummy I love their salads w the home made dressing, spinach artichoke dip is bomb and I've had their wings, burgers, and tots. Drinks have been spot on too! I came here with a friend because I heard so many good things about it. I really enjoy the layout and the plentiful outside seating. But we decided to sit inside since it was a bit chilly that day. The interior reminds me of a open rustic barn feel with modern accents. Cool ambiance. Very chill. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my friend orders the pan roasted chicken. We decided to split each dish. I can honestly say I enjoyed his dish much better than mines. The pan roasted chicken was moist and juicy. It was bursting with flavor. The mash potatoes that he ordered on the side was whipped to perfection. 4/5 My chicken fried steak not so much. The texture was tough where I had to literally chew for more bites than I could count. And the flavor was a little bland for me with the gravy on the side. 1/5 However, The server was attentive seeing that the restaurant was only partially filled with a few seats. Maybe the chicken fried steak was a miss that day, but I would come back to try other things on the menu. I gave it a 4 Star rather than the 3 because I can't give them a 3.5. As a former Trinity frequent flier I had to naturally try their new spot, and it's great! It's not trinity but it's a fun bar with good drinks and food. It's more of an American burger fare but that's ok when you're watching a game! (Especially when the burgers are AMAZING). Went there with a group of friends for dinner a few weeks ago and thought the atmosphere was awesome and service was good. I had the chicken dinner plate which was delicious. Disappointed because they were out of the first three beers I asked for. Returned for lunch with coworkers today and it was "okay". Service was really good but we all agreed we thought it was over priced for the food you received. None of their sandwiches or burgers come with a side item (even fries!) You have to purchase everything individually. And the chicken sandwiches were so small they were still hungry after they ate. It was a 4.50$ upcharge for a micro side of coleslaw! We did a Yelp search of this area for a good restaurant that was kid friendly on the way to a baseball tournament on the north side of Houston. After visiting, I am surprised that this one is only 3 1/2 stars. The food and drinks were great for a casual food and drink atmosphere. I enjoyed the spicy pineapple margarita and we shared loaded tots, chips and queso and guac, the 8 oz burger and the spicy chicken sandwich. All items were good and the servers were attentive. Good place for happy hour because of the drink specials and the delicious shareable items on the menu! I like FM Kitchen for happy hour because it's convenient to get to from the Heights and downtown, and because it had good HH specials on both food and drinks. The beers on tap are served ice-cold, but be sure that you get what you ordered. On our last visit during HH, my husband was served the wrong beer at least three times, and I was served a red wine instead of a white wine twice. Not a big deal though, and the server was nice enough that we could easily look over those mistakes (which the server apologized for and fixed pretty quickly). The menu has lots of bar appetizers that are meant for sharing, and our favorite thing we had was the elote or corn dip. It was so good! The french fries are also really delicious here, so if someone near you orders them or a dish that comes with them, be as sneaky as you can and steal a few! FM Kitchen can be really warm inside during the summer, so beware if you go mid-July and think that sitting inside will be cool - b/c it's not! My first time here, selected a hightop table one row behind the bar stools to watch the Monday Night Football game and the MLB playoff game that were already playing on the two televisions in front of the table I selected. Half way through my meal someone showed up and sat at the bar in front of my table, had one of the stations changed to a college football game and when I asked to have the television changed back to what was originally playing I was told the people sitting at the bar have priority. When the manager told me of this "policy" I told him this was not displayed or documented anywhere and that the prior three people that talkEd to me about changing the television never mentioned this. The place gets 1 star because the burger was pretty good, but I would never return to this place because of the way I was treated and the fact that they seem to have "policies" we are subjected to that we are not made aware of unless you happen to encounter it. I recommend going to any number of places that have indoor outdoor seating, that is much more accommodating. read more

Tried this place out on a Saturday afternoon. Fairly busy, especially outside due to the great weather. Hostess greeted us upon walking up, very friendly and sat us inside. Took awhile for the waitress to get to us but afterwards she was quite attentive. I think her name was Missy. She didn't have the friendliest aura but was on top of her job minus taking a little bit getting started. We ordered the street corn, frito pie and queso burger. Street corn was delicious! Fruit pie was good too. My queso burger was good, nothing special except it was more of a queso mess than anything. It's a plate filled with queso and burger on top. Not even a chance Of me using my hands. I would go back to try more options. Different people brought the food and a manager checked on us. Sadly, I'm updating my review, from a 5 to a 3. My boyfriend and I were regulars for years and certain servers even knew our dog's name. Since opening, their food quality and menu options have gone done while their prices have gone way up. It paints me to update this review- really. They no longer have my favorite $6 grilled chicken sandwich and their mimosa prices have significantly spiked. It used to be our go-to for good and cheap food, but we can't really get that here anymore. Not to mention that they painted the building and removed the cool art/ graffiti. The worst service and experience I have EVER had a restaurant/bar. We were a group of 4 trying to watch a game on a Saturday night. 2/4 in the group were drinking water the entire time and the other 2 had ONE drink our entire visit. We weren't rowdy/obnoxious by any means, simply trying to enjoy the game. We had 3 total waitresses for our dinner bc they kept getting cut, fine... not a big deal. The last waitress also doubled as the manager (Victoria)... she actually said that she couldn't serve us anymore when the 2/4 wanted another drink bc and I quote "we were on drugs!" (Keep in mind, NOBODY in my group was on drugs. We all get drug tested for work. We also don't look like your *typical* drug users?) I was extremely taken back by the extreme lack of her customer service skills and this is all coming from the "manager" I really think they need to take a very strong look at and potentially reconsider who they put in a management role or make a mandatory customer service class available to these people. If she just simply said I can't serve you guys anymore we would've said that's weird but fine (as mentioned, none of us were drunk/on drugs or really even being loud at the game) then the "managers" sister comes up and asks us to leave her sister alone when we were questioning her about the supposed drugs we were on. My husband and I and the friends we were with will 100000% never be back to this establishment and I will inform the rest of my friend group/family. Not only is management an absolute joke and lacks the much needed customer service skills to treat their customers with respect but so are the employees (the first waitress we had also literally rolled her eyes at us when we asked for a refill of water) On another note, food wasn't anything special but I could be biased based on my situation. It was also fried chicken day where you can get 3 pieces with one side and a biscuit for approx. $14-$15 but I preferred to order off the regular menu and got a two piece chicken with two sides for about $2-$3 less which to me was a better deal and the prices were very reasonable. Tried this spot for the first time the other day and enjoyed it! It wasn't blistering hot that day (shocking.. I know) so a group of 7 of us sat outside under the covered area. There are plenty of TVs, giant jenga, ping pong and a few fun wall murals. I can't speak to the inside but it looked pretty full for a Friday afternoon. Our server was nice and attentive and she helped us push some tables together when more people were coming to join. Food wise it was pretty average and what you'd expect for bar food. We split the corn dip to start and that was better than average - definitely recommend! For entrees, I had the FM Burger and tots (the tots were probably the best thing I ate) and was satisfied. A few of my friends had the Shaved Beef and Avocado sandwiches and weren't super impressed. Another friend had the spicy Valentina wings and they were decent.
