Buffalo Chicken Avocado Salad Caesar and Chickin Acini Soup

Came in on a Tuesday evening for a chill, casual date night and had a great experience. The menu is very extensive and has something for everyone, along with very clean aesthetic ambiance, smooth jazz playing on the speakers, making it the perfect dinner! Great service and food, will definitely be coming back!!

Food was delicious. Truly remarkable menu and flavor! The service was a bit slow considering that I was on lunch, but very attentive and personable overall. Ambiance is welcoming. They have a thrift store next door. Super dope vibe

One of the best Caesar salads I've had in a while. They have a large menu, pretty sure you could find an option for anyone. Service is straightforward, even the other diners were kind. Shout out to the other customer that heard me debating my options and gave me a list of great things to try. They seem to have a consistent base of loyal customers as they called a lot of them by name. I love seeing that for small local businesses! I know this is random, but there is salt and pepper shakers are so neat! The bathroom, while there's only one stall, it was large and clean. Parking can be challenging, but we were lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front. The time that I went, there were a few parking spaces nearby (this was on an evening of a weekday). Caesar salad (5/5) I'm always on the hunt for the best Caesar salad, and this one definitely competes! This is one of the best stressed salads I've had. I really enjoyed the fine shopping of the lettuce. Everything was perfectly balanced. Shrimp Fresca (4/5) - great portion, and the flavor was great. I really enjoyed the pesto on top. The sauce was nice and creamy with a little bit of tart from the sun-dried tomatoes. Hate that they are so far from me. Otherwise I would be there every week. I definitely recommend this if you're in the area. Plus they're super close to some dessert shops so you can get a treat after your meal. Support your local, small businesses!

June 27, 2023 Came to town for a concert and picked this place. Shandy herself (owner) waited on us; very sweet. We sat at the bar and I just had FF and my friend had a mushroom swiss burger that she loved. The spicy shandy was yummy. My friend liked her specialty cocktail too.

Took me a minute to figure out why the woman working was so short with us. We aren't from the Heights so the demographic that comes here are the resturants biggest supporters. She was kind and talkative to every non-black person (we are the only ones - and she is black). If this is her personality usually that's unfortunate. Being nice to all customers brings you regulars but I digress. .... The food was good, warm, and fresh. The breakfast sandwich was super cheesy, I say more meat on there would be better. Won't be back because I can't stand being treated like that. Our Hispanic waitress however was amazing and sweet. She was attentive and welcoming.

I visit Shandys EVERY time I'm in Houston. No matter how far I have to go to get there. Salad sampler is my fave I love all their soups Avocado Shrimp salad Redfish - omg! Their cocktail menu is fun and all really tasty! Servers are all super! Don't miss out on Shandys! She's built something really special!!!

Came in for a drink and was enticed with the BEST Spicy guacamole...will Drive the miles to come back again!

Another view of the disappointing "German Chocolate" cake.

Meh. Nothing special here. Still in Houston, we ordered delivery so can't speak to service or ambiance. The delivery came quickly enough. The turkey sandwich was just turkey and bread and a very small portion. Disappointing. The "chicken veggie" soup had plenty of chicken but little else. Just a few carrots and celery and a little of what looked like fideo pasta. It needed salt and veggies. The "club" sandwich was cut in half, not quarters, and had no layers. It was basically just a BLT, and not a very good one. Mixed fruit had no strawberries nor melon nor pineapple. It was just apples, grapes and blueberries. Salad was mainly lettuce with a tiny bit of tomato. The "German chocolate cake" was most disappointing. The cake was dark chocolate, not german chocolate and not fresh. The icing was mainly fudge icing. There was a little of what was supposed to be coconut caramel icing between the layers but not good. No pecans and no flavor. Probably came from a can. The oatmeal cookie was so bland my husband only ate part of it. Food was edible, but dry and small portions for the price. Definitely not worth going back again.

It reminds me a bit like Zoa Moroccan Kitchen. The parking lot is small and can get busy at lunch. It's pretty tight to back out of. It also shares space with Zalat Pizza, a Pilates studio and Snap Kitchen. For reference, we got here around noon and found one spot. There's also some street parking if you can find it. The line was to the door but moved quickly. Like Zoa and Chipotle's concept, you go down the line picking a base, dips/hummus, main meats (and now glazed salmon) or falafel, toppings and dressings. You can also order their specialty bowls or wraps. I built my own bowl with saffron basmati rice, red pepper hummus, roasted eggplant, harissa honey chicken (spicy but not that spicy), charred corn, cherry tomatoes with red onions, crispy pita strips and a drizzle of garlic dressing. We took ours to-go since we had to get back before our meeting. The lid for the bowl was lousy and doesn't lock in place. There are bags to put your takeout in near the pre-order pick up area, which is across from the drinks near the restroom entrance. I like the variety of in house made tea and lemonades. If you choose to dine in, there's plenty of seating at the front, back and patio area. People were coming and going picking up orders more so than dining. Although I thought the food was pricey for a build your own bowl with a large drink ($17.70), I really enjoyed my bowl. I loved everything about it and thought the ingredients were fresh. I especially loved the harissa honey chicken flavor and just enough spice, charred corn, roasted eggplant and crispy pita strips. The saffron in the basmati rice gave it extra flavor. It's a huge portion, so I ate half for lunch and the rest for dinner. I would definitely come back to any Cava location and glad that there's one near my office and home.

Food: - Chicken liver pate: 10/10 SOOOO good! The bread that comes with it is amazing too. There is some sweet jam that is paired with it also. It doesn't overpower the main pate flavor, but I could probably do without the sweetness. - Pressed leeks: 10/10 I haven't had leeks too often in my life but this was really good! The sauce that they put it on pairs so well with it and really makes the dish. Must try even if you think you don't like leeks. - Venison tartare: my husband loves tartare and mustard so he loved this dish. I despise mustard and am lukewarm on tartare. The mustard taste was so strong. I hated this dish but I'm also not a good critic for it, so no rating from me. - Pappardelle: 7/10 Simple and classic. Not worth getting on your first visit but a nice dish on its own. - Butternut squash: 8/10 I can't remember much about this dish except that I enjoyed it :) - Pork collar Milanese: 9/10 Like a much better version of a schnitzel - Dumplings: 9/10 Just read the description on the menu and you know it's gonna be good.
