Stopped here this morning hoping for a quick, tasty breakfast. When we asked how long for a to-go order, we were informed that it would be 20-25 minutes to get a bagel and a muffin. Absolutely ridiculous. We had read such good reviews that we decided to give it a try anyway and figured if we had to wait we might as well order something off the full menu. Two breakfast burritos, one small maple bar and a single orange juice later, we had a $20 tab and a 30 minute wait for food I could have made better at home (minus the maple bar, it was pretty darn good but seriously overpriced). We made this our regular coffee shop for our week in McCall. They have great drip coffee and espresso drinks. We had breakfast a few times. Food was good, service was good, coffee was good. Every time I come to Fogglifter's I truly enjoy their breakfast. However, I have never been pleased with the coffee. My perfect morning would be a breakfast burrito from Fogglifter's and a coffee from Mountain Java. I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with their coffee but, the milk in the lattes tastes funny and anytime I tried it with flavor, I couldn't taste any. We stopped in for a late lunch, and they had delicious food and fast service. I have a gluten allergy, and saw an earlier reviewer mention that they didn't have any gluten free options. I found that in addition to the salads (as long as you have them hold some of the non-gf ingredients) that will work for gluten free diets, they do offer gluten free bread as option for any of their sandwiches (or bagel sandwiches). I had a tuna melt with gluten free bread and an apple cider; it was really good. My husband had The Bob bagel sandwich and a cup of soup; he said it was very good. This place was terrible! I get it that we went on the Saturday after 4th of July and they were super busy, but that is NO REASON for them to mess up every thing we ordered! And that was after we waited 30 minutes for a take out order! The only good thing about this place was their bacon. Their coffee was revolting...really bitter and a terrible taste. Cozy environment with a very relaxed atmosphere. We love coming for the breakfast burrito and a truly perfect Americano. Tried the eggs benedict and "wow"! I have been to the Fogglifter numerous times and every time I go and ask for coffee they give me an empty cup so I can fill my own from the two urns that contain different blends. So the burden is on me to pour my own and, if needed, put a lid on the cup. So your comment about the lid and all doesn't sound like the fault of the restaurant. Now, I may be missing something here so please advise. read more

The food at the Fogglifter is decent. It is slightly overpriced, but the overall quality is respectable. Their coffee isn't that good. I also wish that they had fresh squeezed juices (which seems a must for a cafe). Anywho, it isn't anything too special but it is the best that Mccall has. read more

This cafe was very crowded when my large group arrived for coffee and breakfast. Despite the crowds, our order was taken quickly and accurately. A great place to stop for coffee in McCall. We first visited in January for afternoon coffee and hot chocolate during the winter festival. It was busy, but we found a seat outside and enjoyed our beverages. Was back this past weekend. No pancakes for the kids, but what we did order off the kids menu was large enough to split between 2 of 'em. The Denver scramble I ordered came to my table more like a Cobb salad, where the eater has to do all the scrambling. I received eggs with chopped ham, mushroom and peppers piled on top, and sliced avocado on the side. It came with fruit and potatoes and it all tasted fine; just was a bit off traditional. I like the location, the vibe, the atmosphere, the mini table for the kiddos, but this is a coffee shop trying to be a breakfast destination. Not too many breakfast options in McCall, so we may be back for more food, but I'm going to try to keep this stop to coffee only. read more

Awesome little coffee shop just steps from the lake. Like some have said, it has a Portland-Seattle ish feel to it and features cool furniture, great views and friendly employees. Coffee was good, was very crowded. Juevos rancheros was good but Benedict came with brown avocados. They replaced the plate.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this cafe. First of all, it is extremely overpriced. A bottle of juice that would sell for 1.25$ at any other place costs 3.00$ here. Not to mention the fact that you're going to end up waiting 15 minutes if you order a coffee, and at least 20 minutes if you order food. The people at the counter are somewhat rude and the people in the kitchen have a lot of trouble keeping up with the orders due to the fact that they choose to stand around and talk to eachother instead of doing their job. The staff members are young and inexperienced, and in my opinion they really aren't ready to run a business. read more

Service was very, very slow (25 minutes for a breakfast sandwich & arrived cold) Waitress was very rude when I asked for a refill of my coffee. You have to pay before you get your order. Not a pleasant experience. There are plenty of other cafes in Mccall that are much better. read more

Internet is good if you are lucky enough to get on. Employees admit it is very difficult to get on the Internet. Don't bother asking them to reset the Internet to make it obtainable. You'll be told it interrupts the cash register and they don't want to be bothered. Try Moxie Java across the street for good Internet. read more

Went there this week while camping with family, We slid into town to have some coffee and breakfast and to take in some of the atmosphere. 3 of the group got Coffee and Denver scrambles while one got scrambled eggs and bacon. All of us where disappointed in the food. Coffee was good, prices (if the food was good) would have been decently priced for the serving sizes offered. My Denver Scramble was luke warm. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs no flavor at all and the potatoes offered with the dish where cold and tasted just like the ones you get in the little microwave steamer bags from your local Wal-Mart except cold. All 4 of us the same experience and would not eat there again. Hopefully they get away from the microwaved foods and offer real cooked food. read more

I am astonished to see luke-warm or bad reviews of this place. We "discovered" it several years ago when we were vacationing here, and we eager to get back to it when we re-visited the area this year. OK, this is not "fine dining". It is a rather rustic breakfast and lunch place, with outdoor seating, an interesting mix of tourists and locals, and lots of dogs. In our experience, the food (breakfast, every day) was at least good, and sometimes very good. The wait can be a little long, because the place is crowded, so if you're in a hurry (why?) , probably don't come here. The prices at quite reasonable, comparable to other breakfast spots. And the place is staffed and run by a changing mix of bright, funny, beautiful kids. We love it, and will be back any time we're in town. read more

We stumbled upon this place on a recent "shot in the dark" vacation trip to Idaho, and we went back virtually every morning we were in McCall. It is a wonderful place. The food -- and we had several different breakfast items -- was uniformly excellent. The coffee and tea selection was wide and interesting. The pastries were very very good -- especially the scones. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxed and homey. WiFi is free and convenient. Mostly we loved the staff. The lovely young ladies who work the front counter and serve the food were warm, friendly and helpful, and the guy(s) who work the kitchen were very creative. I had a home-made Hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict that was the best I've had in years. I am not sure we'll make it back to McCall (it was a "never been there before, let's try it" vacation week), but if we do, we will be spending our breakfast hours at this lovely little place. read more
