We've come here a couple times and it just fails to be inspired. The location and the vibe are good. Plenty of nice outdoor and indoor seating. Plenty of good beer and wine options. Their coffee is what we've mostly come for and its pretty good and a good price. Their food though is just not very good. The breakfast burrito was greasy, but pretty bland even with the salsa. Tried lunch and their lunch was worse. Chipotle chicken sandwich was just a mess, sad lettuce, tomatoes that aren't ripe and overcooked chicken with a chipotle sauce. Okay flavor, but just not pleasant to eat. Tots were okay, but even my daughter wasn't too keen on them which is a shock for a 4 year old. I'll keep coming by for coffee, but will avoid the food. read more

We've been to Foghorn twice now at different times of day. Overall, we've enjoyed our visits and would go again. Here are some of the things we noticed: - Great vibe inside and good number of local beers on tap. They also serve coffee drinks but I can't comment on those at all. - Lots of outdoor seating/tables, but you have to be able to overlook the road noise. - Pretty broad all day menu. The first time we visited was for beers, and we ordered the Chips and Salsa...the salsa, by the way, is the bomb, just so good! The second time we came was for breakfast. My wife and I split both the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich (adding lettuce and tomato for $1 extra) and the Breakfast Burrito with Sausage. Both were good but we preferred the sandwich...the burrito had too many potatoes in it for our liking and the bulk sausage which was used made the entire thing way too greasy. We did like that the burrito came with their awesome salsa! - Ordering food is at the counter/bar. Bottom line: We're glad to have Foghorn nearby but will likely return primarily for beers and bar food. read more

Food: We had the loaded tater tots. Ingredients aren't overly special, but we really appreciated that the tots were laid out so that toppings were distributed evenly. We enjoyed it and would eat there again. Service: There was only one person working. She was super nice, attentive, and gave us some recommendations. I hope that she doesn't have to work by herself if it gets busy! Ambiance: The inside is definitely dive bar-ish, but I personally like that vibe. There are two patio areas. We chose to be in the front area where there was corn hole. We met another couple who asked us to play and we had a really great time! After we were done here, we head to the beach across the street and enjoyed a sunset. Perfect way to end the night! We'll be back! read more

Wasn't greeted till I made it all the way to the coffee bar. Maybe they knew I wasn't a local. I love going to local spots to show love and support wish I got the same treatment here. Every time we step into Foghorn Brewhouse, it just keeps getting better. Pyper, the general manager, runs a tight ship--everything is spotless, and her attention to detail really shows. We Came in here last Saturday for a free comedy night. Came in around 715. They started to get pretty busy. The place smelled pretty good like they were cooking something amazing couldn't tell what it was. Went to the bar and try to order a beer. Two girls behind the bar and they were just bullshitting. They looked at me then they continue to talk as I'm waiting patiently, still no service. I guess that's what you get when you hire a teenage girls behind a bar. We were all hungry after a great kayaking tour of Morro Bay, and this place was perfect. I had the breakfast burrito (with chorizo), which was piping hot and really good. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. My husband and I loved the atmosphere. It has a very laid back vibe. The employees are super nice. Meagan was our bartender and she was incredibly personable and sweet. We came back for coffee and morning beers today. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out. Enjoyed a quick stop here after a busy beach day in Avila. We stopped by for a beer before dining and staying in Morro Bay overnight. Wish we would have tried some of the bar snacks here, the tater tots looked great. Friendly welcome at the bar and it was cool seeing a Clovis - Crow and Wolf - on tap. The coke was horrible it tasted like chemicals and it was not sweet at all and when we ordered food there was no chef. He was on break when the restaurant opened one hour ago and the waitress said it would be another half and hour and there was no tables that had more then two chairs so my family couldn't sit together and we sat a different sides of this horrible restaurant never come here. read more

Great selection of beer varietals. Nice open area for enjoying a beverage, as well as plenty of outside seating. Only reason for 3 stars is their prices. One beer ran me $8. Their selection is not limited to craft brews, they have domestics as well as a wide variety of wine. read more

I stopped in for a beer on a recent trip through Morro Bay. What an awesome spot!! They have a rotating selection of beer on tap. Blake was an AWESOME bartender and let me several sample before I landed on the delicious Danish red lager. There was a friendly group of locals at the bar and soccer on the TV. What's not to love? My wife and I stopped by for breakfast burritos this morning - and we got 1 bacon and 1 chorizo and shared them both. Both were excellent. Lots of eggs and meat - almost more bacon and chorizo than the eggs and potatoes. They were also really fresh. My wife hates lukewarm food and these were steaming hot! Came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and wasnt sure what to expect. No ciders on tap but the bartender recommended a hard kambucha that really hit the spot, despite my reservations. Im a converted fan. I dunno what their tator tots are seasoned with but they are delicious! Best philly cheesesteak Ive ever had in California. It was red without being too overpowering with the tomato! The crème brûlée was also not too sweet and amazing! -1 star for the guy that was the hostess. He took my number down and said he would call in about an hour when to come back. I purposely made my phone super loud so i would hear the call when the table was going to be ready. More than an hour passed so we walked back to check our place in line. He tried to say that he called 20 min ago but he said couldn't remember why it didn't go through and couldn't even come up with an excuse lol. I rechecked the number he wrote down which was correct. I had my partner call me and she had no problem. He promised us the next available seat. Another party after us literally went through the same thing as us where he claimed that he called but I'm sure he didn't. We got seated right away after so I'm glad we came back to check! Our server (i forgot her name but she had blonde hair) made up for it since she was super delightful! Aside from that i was looking for her to tell her it was my partners birthday but i only saw him. I asked if he could tell my server for me and he said yeah! They can put a candle on the dessert we order. He asked me what dessert but i didn't know what the options were yet so he said he would just tell my server anyway and we can pick. Lo and behold, no candle lol. That guy sucks

However, almost instantly, all hopes we had of a quality date night were thrown out the window. Prior to our arrival, we had called to ensure that there was seating available for a party of two. We were told there would be no issue, but this was not the case. Despite our call, we ended up waiting nearly a half hour to be seated. Clearly, transparency falls behind on the Dockside list of priorities. After we were finally led to our table, we perused the menu in search of the delicacies we hoped for. That, we did find. The food itself, and the service alike, were superb. With each bite came deep yearning for another. But throughout the meal, something bitter remained present in our conscience. The disdainful lie that which was told tainted every fiber of our experience. We truly hope that the Tognazzini family takes the time to reflect on the promises they give.
