Service ok. Had to wait a bit for wine refills but no big deal. Crab cakes~delicious. Tacos were ok. Kind of pricey for what you get. My bad for not paying attention. I ordered what I thought were fajitas and the waiter came and brought two tacos. I was a little surprised. Two tacos for that price is a little ridiculous and they were just okay. Ambience was chic~outdoors on a tall table people watching while having amazing conversation. Also, dog friendly and enjoyed watching dogs make small talk. Lol

Small update to a previous review. Went back two days later and absolutely wonderful service from the staff again (TY Cici). They are such a fun group and really make STAX a great place to hang out. Tried the Margherita pizza and chicken wings. So delicious. Even took another order of wings to go and enjoy back at the hotel.

Had a local merchant recommend this place. It's a wine bar with high end appetizers and food. Seat yourself inside or outside. Perfect place to people watch. The ultimate crostini with filet mignon was incredible! Sent a picture to my stepson, who is head chef in Texas and said he is adding it to his menu. Then what pairs best with filet and a bottle of red? It's a hot bologna sandwich! Didn't know bologna was ever cut that thick, but with the grilled onions, mustard and ciabatta roll, it was excellent! All of this with tip for $100! Beats the $200 dinner we had the night before. Definitely a future go yo spot.

This might be my new favorite restaurant in Morro Bay!! Unfortunately they are only open Friday-Sunday. There are plenty of indoor and pup friendly outdoor tables, many with great views. Our server was excellent. We ordered the wedge salad, caeser salad and the steak crostini. Everything was so delicious. Of course they also have a very extensive wine list! Best off all prices are reasonable. Go here. You won't regret it!!!

Glass of Syrah from Melville, Santa Rita Hilla and Viognier from Eberle, Paso Robles - both very good!

Super cute wine bar right on the waterfront. Popular patio out front. We stopped in for a couple glasses of wine. Their small glass lates all looked really good. We had the Dungeness crab cakes served on greens in a tomato vinaigrette. The Ultimate Crostini w/ filet mignon, mushrooms, blueberries cheese, arugula and housemade pesto looked amazing, too. Friendly service, and $5 mimosas on the weekend!

Always a favorite stop for me when I'm in town! Great food, great wine, and always great service. I always enjoy sitting outside on the patio in the fresh air as I doggie & people watch, noshing on yummies for my tummies. They're only open Friday to Sunday from 12 noon to 8pm. If you come in always ask for their specials that are not on the menu, you will be wowed.

The food presentation was exceptional! Everything tasted good. Laid back restaurant along the wharf. Only open Fri, Sat and Sun.

One of the…read morebiggest draws was that it's one of the few locations open until 9 PM, and since I was hoping to try some local wines, I decided to stop in. When I arrived, I was surprised by how small the space was. There were a few seats at the bar, a couch inside, and a couple of outdoor tables where you can enjoy views of the famous rock. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I had a few questions about the wines, but unfortunately, the staff member working didn't seem very knowledgeable about the selections. While they were friendly and welcoming, I was a bit disappointed because part of the experience I enjoy at a wine bar is learning about the wines, their backgrounds, and the local wineries they come from. Overall, the wine and atmosphere were enjoyable, and it's a nice spot to start or end an evening. Just be aware that if you're looking for detailed information or recommendations about the wines, the staff may not be able to provide much insight.

A glass of wine (I chose a Tempranillo from Rioja), was $15 and the pour was honestly no bigger than a 2 oz taste we'd get as part of a flight. At first I thought it was an error or oversight, but my husband got the same size pour for his Ancient Peaks Cab. I get being cost conscious as a business but this is just appalling. We aren't tourists, so we learned our lesson and probably won't return.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

This was my third visit to Tognazzini's Dockside in about three years and my second visit within…read morethe past year. Unfortunately, each visit has felt a little less impressive than the one before it, and this most recent experience was disappointing enough that I probably would not return. Parking is usually easy, and I have never had to walk more than a couple of minutes. There are also a couple of EV spaces nearby. When my girlfriend and I walked inside, the restaurant felt unusually warm, humid, and stuffy. It was uncomfortable enough that we briefly considered leaving. We chose outdoor seating instead, but that comes with its own drawbacks. The tables are exposed to the afternoon sun, pedestrians walk just feet away, vehicles pass close by, and the working dock is nearby, so you hear forklifts, unloading equipment, and active fishing operations throughout the meal. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which I have ordered on all three visits. They were good and are honestly one of the main reasons I have continued returning. They are not easy to find where I live, and this version is enjoyable, even if it is not on the level of what I have had in places like New Orleans. My girlfriend ordered the clam chowder with bacon. We have been comparing clam chowders around the Central Coast, and unfortunately this one ranked last among the several we have tried so far. She described it as average and nothing memorable. I ordered the steamer clams, and this was easily the biggest disappointment. The very first clam I ate had noticeable grit in it, and unfortunately that continued through most of the bowl. I would estimate that the majority of the clams had some amount of sand or grit, which made them unpleasant to eat. I also found one clam that remained completely closed after cooking. I left it untouched. At a restaurant specializing in seafood, I expected more careful preparation and inspection. The broth was also surprisingly bland. I ended up adding hot sauce just to give it more flavor. As I worked through the broth, I also noticed three small hairs. I cannot say where they came from, but finding multiple hairs in the same dish was understandably concerning and further reduced my appetite. The service did not help. Our server took our order, delivered drinks and food, and eventually brought the check, but there was very little interaction between those points. No one checked whether we needed anything or asked how the food was going. That was especially frustrating because if someone had checked in, I would have had an opportunity to mention the problems with the clams while I was eating them. Overall, the Oysters Rockefeller were still good, but almost everything else about this visit was disappointing: the uncomfortable indoor environment, noisy outdoor seating, average chowder, gritty clams, bland broth, cleanliness concerns, and minimal service. I have enjoyed this restaurant more in the past, but after this experience, I think there are other places around Morro Bay where I would rather spend my money.

I tried to ask someone one time where the tasting room is and they weren't very friendly. But now it is very clearly marked and I was easily able to find it on my own this time. You can tell it's been newly remodeled. My friends and I decided to do the tasting. All of us like white wine only. They have a few selections but of course the one I really wanted to try wasn't available that day. And that was ok. They gave me 6 tokens to give one each time i wanted my next tasting. Well sine they didn't have one of the wines I wanted and white wine was more limited I asked if I could turn in two chips for two tastings of the same wine. And I did this also so I didn't have to come in and bother them as soon for another pour of the same thing. I was told they don't do that .... But then they did. It just doesn't make sense to me. I also was trying to be nice and I just felt like she was wasn't super friendly. This place has a gorgeous set up outside. They have nice comfy seating or high top tables which overlook the rolling green hills. This time of the year is absolutely beautiful. I can see the warmer months not being as pretty because I'm sure everything turns brown. I also loved watching the animals down below. The scenery was so majestic. I will definitely be back again.
