I've dined at several locations in California and Arizona so I'm familiar with the drill. This location wasn't great. The salad bar was very limited, the meat selection was honestly very small and infrequent. We sat for 5+ mins with our tabs turned green and no one came. A server took out drinks for refills and never returned and by the end of it we didn't even know who our server was since we had like 6 people check in at various times. All in all we won't be back and I'd not recommend this location. read more

I had the most amazing time at Fogo, and a big part of that was thanks to the bartender Matt. I was on a first date so we just decided to sit at the bar, and what a good decision that was. From the moment we sat down he was so welcoming and attentive. The cocktails he made us were perfect!! My date couldn't make up her mind so Matt took it upon himself to guide us. Everything he put in front of us was right on the money. It was like he was a mind reader. We ended up trying every Caipirinha on the menu i think (although my favorite was def the passion fruit). There were so many good food options too! so once again Matt to the rescue. He sold us on the Chilled lobster and shrimp, and the caviar brioche to start. He then brought us the Picanha Tartare and Lamb Lollipops, which were delicious. Though at this point we were pretty stuffed, he said we had to try the Queijo Assado (TO DIE FOR!). The service was on point. So smooth and friendly. Matt was so patient with us. He created such a fun and relaxed environment which helped what could have been an awkward first date become an effortlessly fantastic experience. I think we've already made a pact to have date number 5 at Fogo again and actually try the Full Churrasco dinner experience. First time at a Brazilian Steakhouse. I really enjoyed my first experience. The restaurant is pretty big. The lights are pretty dim so it gives you a romantic and fancy time. Love it! It has been awhile since I went to a nice restaurant. This steakhouse is known for it's Churrasco Experience about $63 per person. It's kind of like a buffet experience but with servers coming around your table serving you different kinds of cut meat. It also comes with some appetizer (cheese bread and some other Brazilian dishes) and you can go to the food bar to get salad, soup, or carb items. There are meat (lamb, chicken, pork, steak, beef) cooked and seasoned differently. Food was really delicious. Definitely come here hungry. There are so much to try. Would come back here. read more

This is the first time I went to this brand steak house in Chicago. So this review is for the Chicago location not in Seattle. First, this restaurant is huge. In the middle of the restaurant is a huge buffet, variety of salads, toppings, meat, cheese, dip and things like that and off to the side is a hot bar where they serve three sides, soup and bread and other things . At your table and the servers come around with meat off the grill the choices are steak, pork, chicken and lamb. The waitstaff gives each person at the table a card (red one side and green side) so when you're ready for meat, you flip your card over to green and then the service to come around to give you some meat. Now, whether not, I liked and appreciate this restaurant, I honestly didn't like it. It was not the steakhouse experience that I prefer, but I do think it's great for families who are wanting great steaks under a budget. Fogo De Chao has become a golden place again due to the manager, Will Murphy. He is beyond incredible. We were waiting for our steak. Will was like a magician and bought out a perfect steak. Got the opportunity to attend a residents' private event here and definitely had a great time. We got to try all the caipirinhas (traditional, passionate, strawberry hibiscus, and mango habanero) and they were all very tasteful. My favorite was the strawberry but I've always preferred sweet, fruity drinks. All of them also had fresh fruit mixed in. The bites at the bar were pretty good. I loved the mini bell peppers stuffed with chicken salad. The cheesy bread was also so addicting. The chicken sliders were okay but a bit too sweet for me with the mango aioli. The bacon wrapped chicken was definitely my favorite app. It's a nice clean restaurant. The service was outstanding. Not my best Fogo experience. First time at this location. Little slower and different than other experiences. As always, the salad bar is amazing. The charcuterie board was well stocked with prosciutto , salami and several quality cheeses. The salmon was fabulous with a basil sauce and capers. Great selections for meat toppings. Service of meat was ridiculously slow. In the first 90 minutes, only 3 meats were served. After mentioning it to the server, meats came faster but we were still walked past multiple times. I came here for a friend's birthday and enjoyed the experience. Meats on meats on meats are all you'll really be eating. I know there's a salad bar, but if you want your money's worth, don't bother. Also, be on the lookout for the shrimp. They cost extra and if you're not careful you'll end up getting them. As far as the meats go, try everything. A bit underwhelming. First thing we noticed is the ambiance / decor of the restaurant is fairly cheap. The place felt old and bland. We did the standard $68 buffet. We were not impressed by anything at the salad bar. A couple of the meats that came around were really bad, either super dry (pork) or chewy (some of the steaks). A few were pretty good such as the bacon wrapped chicken thigh and chicken wings. We were about done eating when our waiter asked if we wanted to request any of the meats again, and he listed around 10 items. We had only seem maybe 5. So where were the rest during our meal? We asked if he could bring us sirloin steak and it was delicious but we were upset that it never came during our meal. Overall, the experience was worth maybe $30 not $68. read more

We were visiting Chicago and it was just walking distance from where we were staying. What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the intentional service they provided. I had such a disappointing experience at Fogo de Chao and I definitely won't be back. We came for my husband's birthday dinner, and somehow ended up spending $230 between the two of us, just for the dinner experience, 3 alcoholic drinks and one mocktail. We were seated at possibly the worst table in the restaurant, and I really don't like being difficult so I figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal. The table was in a corner next to the server POS system and broom, so people were constantly jostling us to get to the POS or to grab the broom behind my husband. On top of that, there was no light near or on our table, so it felt like the table actually shouldn't exist and was supposed to be part of the service station. In addition, the layout of the whole place is just stupid. It feels almost like a big cafeteria because it's in an open space with the buffet slapped haphazardly in the middle, with big metal ugly rafters that make the whole space echo loudly. The tables are stuffed closely together, so you'll have a difficult time making your way to the buffet with everyone's coats on the backs of chairs too. Because we were so inconveniently located, the meat didn't come around to us much. We saw a total of 4 varieties before it was just the same people coming back with the same stuff. One of the meat people asked if there was anything particular we wanted, but it was so loud it was hard to hear him, and then we didn't even have a menu left to know what the options were, so that went nowhere. Our server was Lily and while she was very nice, she was clearly overwhelmed and we felt pretty neglected overall. My water was frequently empty and it took a long time to get the check and leave. The worst, though- was the guy walking around offering tequila shots. I told my husband to get one, because it was his birthday! I didn't realize it was a $35 shot until we got the bill. I expected maybe $20. I thought that was absolutely absurd, and clearly a rip off because while we should have asked how much the shot was, I honestly did not imagine that they would be charging $35 for a single shot without giving warning first. The market table was good, and I would probably get that only if I had to come back (but I won't come back), and the meat we had was fine. However, I kind of think if your thing is meat, it should totally wow me....and it didn't. Finally, when a restaurant is this "high end" and the reso asks for an occasion, I would have at least expected them to acknowledge my husband's birthday, but they did not. Not at the host stand, not when we were greeted, nothing. Which is unusual both for restaurants of this supposed caliber. This is the kind of place tourists come because they've heard of it and Chicago is the closest location. You should absolutely avoid because it is SO SO SO not worth the money. Last year we had a tasting menu in the west loop for $50 less (with more drinks) than this sad, sad meal. read more

It's been a long time since I visited Fogo. Maybe 10 plus years ago when employees got to celebrate milestone work anniversaries over a meal with coworkers, Fogo was a common choice to have the company pick up $200 of the pricey meal tab. When multiple milestone celebrants pooled their funds, we had a great big free meatfest. I even introduced my two brothers to Fogo. Endless meats for these two super meat lovers was like a day pass into heaven! They were surprised by the number of different meats and neither flipped their card over. But the dinner last night was for my nephews birthday was not fully enjoyable. The biggest complaint was there was a limited variety of meats offered: only one sausage was presented, roasted chicken legs and thighs, garlic beef, garlic chicken, lamb, filet mignon and steak. That was it. Then there was our waiter who led my niece and I to believe two drinks were included in our meal package. When they came around to tally us up at the end of the meal there were four drinks added to the bill. I questioned the matron about the added cost. She confirmed for me there were no drinks included in our package. We told her the waiter asked us what our two drink choices were after he took our meal order. I asked the matron if there was a two drink minimum. She said no. When the waiter was questioned about the order the smug little (fill in your favored curse word) waiter claimed he asked us what we wanted "to" drink! I probably shouldn't have left any tip because of the lying #-hole waiter, but there were others who put in the effort and deserved their tip. So I only left 10% and I'll leave this tip to F de C, drop that lying waiter like a bad habit. And to readers, try a different Brazilian steakhouse experience that offers a wider variety of meats and where the wait staff doesn't take the liberty of tricking you into buying outside the dinner packages offered. read more

I've been coming to this location for 6 years and tonight I received the worst service and worst quality food ever. I've been in the restaurant industry 12 years so when I see that The staff is completely new I knew that already was a weird sign. When we sat and ordered our drinks the server didn't know what amaretto was or their house orange Brazilian salsa. The starter appetizer was overcooked and we had to request a new batch. Every piece of steak we received was overcooked. When we requested beef ribs and their Brazilian sausage the beef ribs came out dry and burnt. The sausage came out burnt and half a piece was falling off and terrible quality. My last review was great. I've always had great food and great service here and I left extremely dissatisfied tonight. I won't be back for this B team night shift crew. I don't know if I'll ever be back. read more

Located on LaSalle, this spacious restaurant has a great $39 dinner special with select meat to your desired cooking with salad bar and a few sides. I came after 5p and it's private and spacious. The music was lively and the staff was friendly without masks. I love exclusive dining. The salad bar after 5p needs refreshing. I have had lunch during lunch time so I know that it's fresher during lunch time. The potato salad and asparagus were still tasty. The server provided a two sided disk. One side is meat please and the other is no meat. So various staff drop by with cuts of meat and it's cooked to your desired tastes. The meat is carved at your table. I tried the picanha (prime part of top sirloin) and it was a bit tough. The alacatra (top sirloin) was too rare for me. The garlic beef had a nice garlic flavor--no vampires for me tonight. I tried the Fraldinha (bottom sirloin) and it was tasty. The lomo was tasty with parmesan encrusted park. For sides, I usually like the cheese bread but I didn't feel it was fresh. I tried the caiprahina and it was too sweet but the favor was good. It's better to come during lunch time for the salad bar. Wait staff can be slow at times. read more

Went here for a friend's birthday dinner. Didn't opt for the Fogo experience since I don't eat steak so my experience would have been limited. Instead I opted for the Salad Bar and Salmon dinner. Good things first, loved the appetizers that were laid out on the table, including: fried banana, yuca fries and cheese bread. Next, liked the tid-bits from the Salad Counter, such as: fresh mozzarella, mustard sauce, cornichons, fresh beet slices, and hummus dip, etc. All great accompaniments to my VERY boring and almost inedible meal that followed. The Salmon entrée took a long while to arrive, nearly at the half way point of my friends' Fogo experience. Upon arrival, I was taken aback by the preparation on the Salmon. It was extremely tough as it was overdone due to which I couldn't stomach more than half the fillet, and the half I ate too was not enjoyable at all. The bed of grilled Asparagus that came was the only redeeming quality on the plate. To end, my friends and I ordered a bunch of desserts that included the: - Molten Chocolate Cake: came with Vanilla Ice Cream on the side which was the best thing I consumed on this day. The Molten Cake was the second best. - Flan: enjoyable but I was too distracted by the Molten Chocolate Cake conveniently sitting in front of me that day. - Tres Leches: the celebratory birthday cake. I came here for a wedding lunch. It was nice to have a private room for the guests. The food and service overall was good. There is a buffet for soup, salad and veggies that is available at all times during the meal (just make sure not to fill up on it before the meat starts coming out). The buffet did lack fruit options but the restaurant does provide sweet dessert options at the end of the meal. Parking: Street parking, valet and parking lots are nearby. Parking in this area can get pricey so I'd recommend spot hero or a similar alternative. It is a fun concept to have the green or red sign displayed to show whether or not you are interested in more meat. If you have the green sign displayed, the staff will come by with the different types of meat to see if you are interested. I'd recommend not filling up on the first few meat items that come as the latter options may be more appealing to you. The customer service and experience overall was good and I left with an extra full stomach. I'd recommend this place only if you enjoy eating endless amounts of different types of meat. The meat is all seasoned pretty well so some could say it is a salty meal overall. After this meal, you may need to go for a long walk to digest as it is a lot of food. Some favorites were the Picanha, filet mignon, rib eye steak, garlic steak. Sides: I enjoyed the Brazilian cheese bread that was at each table but the other sides were just okay. read more

Upon speaking with other waiting patrons, we learned that all of us had arrived for our 7:45 reservations. When we finally got to the hostess it was 8:05pm and then were assigned a pager for an additional wait for a table. Lots of pushing and shoving at the door. Terrible, disappointing experience. Went last night, had a horrible experience. We initially went for the Brazilian cut special but when we found out it didn't include premium cuts we decided to go with the Traditional Full experience. We got seated at 8:30, by 9:30 we still didn't receive any lamb, Filet, NY strip or ribeye. I had to ask the waiter when we will receive it and he said shortly. We were given burnt Filets at almost 10pm. Only 2 people were given lamb chops. Most of the servers do not speak English at all and were very aggressive. One of my friends was burnt because the server aggressively put the screwer on the table without saying excuse me. We never received any NY Strip, Ribeye or the rest of the lamb. Total waste of money. Texas de Brazil is a better option. Paying over $500 for bottom sirloin and chicken is ridiculous. read more

Came here after a play at the Nederlander Theatre. Jose was amazing. Very attentive, I could feel him checking our table out often to make sure we were getting meat if our cards were on green. I was waiting for the lamb chops and asked him if they had any (I wasnt sure, I only ever been to Texas de Brazil) and he made sure people brought them out right away. First ones were a bit overcooked but he fixed it and made sure they brought out medium rare ones! He was on it! Had a very mediocre first experience here today. Took my friend here for a birthday lunch. We both did the full churrasco experience. The meat service was extremely slow despite having our cards on "green" the whole time. In the two hours we were dining, we were maybe offered 4-5 different meats. Mind you, we dined at noon so it wasn't super busy, and we were skipped a handful of times for some reason. The meat we did receive was extremely tough and lacked flavor (the garlic "steak" was inedible as it was bouncy and tough). My friend and I were also underwhelmed with the market table. While the service we received was truly amazing (10/10), I don't think I would dine here again. Happy we tried though! read more

I made the order and was accommodated as best as they could but the Pineapple came without sugar and without cinnamon which we typically enjoy in Brazil and other locations.... The caipirinha also did not feel the slight sweet texture that the sugar provides. The service is wonderful, everyone attended to us promptly.. but I missed Brazilians working at the place. I wanted to give my husband who is American the experience of being in a Brazilian restaurant, but I failed.., Although the pineapple was a miss the desert we chose was nice. read more

We have eaten at several of these restraints across the country and chose this one to celebrate a belated anniversary dinner in Chicago. The service was so slow. We were not offered many meats through our visit that was over two hours long. This used to be a place that we would get dressed up for a nice dinner and it was so far from that. I'm so disappointed that this is what Fogo de Chao has become. We had many options in the downtown Chicago area and will be choosing differently the next time we are in town. What can you say about FdCh...the place sells itself. Excellent cuts of meat with plenty of options. The icing on the cake besides the Papaya Creme which is a great meal finisher is the service by the hard working staff.
