Mastro's happy hour is outstanding , with delicious food and great value. The service was impeccable, attentive, friendly, and professional. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, and the live music made the experience even more enjoyable. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!

Went to Mastros on a random Friday night and had a great time! Friends and I ended up sitting at the bar and it really said the vibe for the night. They had live music and it really set the mood! There's nothing better than sipping on a dirty martini and listening to live music Vibing out. My bartender Martin was amazing. We did not have any light bites or food this night, but I can't wait to go back for more.

Stopped in for dinner for restaurant week. The couple we were with already checked us in so we dropped our coats off at the coat check which was very convenient. Very cozy vibes all around. We sat in the bar area so we were able to watch some sports games. I went with the tuna sashimi followed by the filet and ended with the cheesecake. Each course came out on schedule which was nice. Sashimi was spot on with a great sweet sauce and jalapeño. The filet was a perfect medium rare and very tender. It comes out on the plate it was cooked on so be careful it's super hot. The cheesecake was of a softer texture which I enjoyed. Great spot to try during restaurant week.

I came to Mastro's on Thanksgiving Day for an early meal and to watch the football game at the bar. The bartender was friendly and on point, and the Assistant GM Che came by and was super cool. The whole team gave off a great vibe. I ordered the shrimp cocktail, the lobster bisque, and the sautéed spinach, and finished with the mini butter cake for dessert. Everything was excellent and the service was smooth from start to finish.

Everything went well. The service was great. The waiter was attentive with minimal struggle as it seems he had a lot of tables. The ambiance was beautiful it could be casual outing, birthday celebration, romantic date, or work related it fits. The bar area had a wonderful pianist/singer. The dining room area you could hear the music but conversations took over. We ordered two bottles of wine a reisling and a red blend. Great options. The food temp was excellent. We ordered cesar salad, a few bone in rib eyes, porterhouse, spinach creamed and sauteed, calamari, oysters, garlic mashed and a few loaded baked potatoes. The flavor of the food was perfect nothing was over or under seasoned. Parking valet ($20), street-metered, or parking apps/garages. All of the employees that we encountered were very kind.

We had the most incredible dinner at Mastro's Steakhouse in Chicago to celebrate my husband's birthday on Friday! This place is our go-to for a reason--it's truly the crème de la crème of steakhouses in the city. With so many options in Chicago, Mastro's still manages to stand out--and honestly, it deserves way more love. We each ordered the 8oz filet, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We shared the Caesar salad and French onion soup, both of which the staff thoughtfully split for us. For sides, we had mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and mac & cheese--all hits. And let me tell you, the complimentary bread basket served with truffle butter? Chef's kiss. Pro tip: Add the blue cheese crust to your steak--it's a game changer. If you're thinking of getting it Oscar-style, ask for the sauce on the side so it doesn't overpower the steak's flavor. Our server Tim was phenomenal. When a neighboring table got a little too loud (someone was actually on speaker phone), he immediately offered to move us. The manager, Agim, also went out of his way to make things right and comped a round of drinks. The customer service here is truly next level--they always prioritize your experience. We can't wait to come back. We love you, Mastro's!

The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. My friend and I requested to share the lobster bisque and the waiter was quick to say that wouldn't be a problem. They served it to us in separate dishes. Additionally, I requested a cocktail to be made with a different liquor and they were able to do that as well. My filet was perfectly crispy on the outside and cooked to my preferred temperature, medium rare. The ambiance was very nice as well with a beautiful red staircase that leads to the bathrooms upstairs. There was live music at the front of restaurant as well.

I'll go low and come high. The A is for Atmosphere -- and that's where Mastro's truly shines. The ambiance is elegant, upscale, and absolutely delivers on the fine-dining experience. The space feels luxurious, visually appealing, and the service aligns well with that expectation. From a vibe standpoint alone, this is easily a 5-star setting. Unfortunately, the food itself was quite underwhelming given the hype and price point. Here's what I ordered: * Calamari * Spicy Mambo Salad * Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye * Wagyu Tallow French Fries * Lobster Mashed Potatoes * Garlic Truffle Cauliflower The calamari was disappointing -- honestly, I've had better at Carrabba's. The Spicy Mambo Salad was fine, but be prepared: it has a strong horseradish-style kick that really hits your nose. The Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye was simply okay. The kitchen nailed the medium-rare temperature, but flavor-wise it felt flat. It seems like you need to add one of the topping enhancements for it to really shine, which shouldn't be necessary at this level. The lobster mashed potatoes were fairly generous with the lobster, but overall bland. The garlic truffle cauliflower felt overcooked and could really benefit from some sort of sauce to elevate it. And lastly, F is for Fries -- extremely overpriced. Yes, you get a bucket of them, but I honestly would've rather had Chick-fil-A fries. Overall, while the atmosphere and service are strong, the food didn't justify the cost for me. I likely wouldn't rush back anytime soon. And as of now, this place has nothing on Bavette's Bar & Boeuf. If you can land a reservation at Bavette's and compare the two, you'll wholeheartedly understand what I mean.

Reservation for 9 was cancelled because the credit card was declined. The mistake was quickly fixed by the Maitre'd (that's why you need them). Live music that was incredible. Food including complimentary bread basket and soft butter was amazing. Tuna sashimi was high grade tuna in a spicy brown sauce. While the tuna didn't need the peppery sauce, soaking up the sauce with the bread made me happy. Medium rare steak filet was great. Easy to cut, although knife wasn't dangerous just effective. Ended with mango sorbet and blackberries. Sorbet was unique and mango centric. Service was excellent. Great place for a terrific meal or event.

It's definitely overrated. The manager was very nice however the waitress was sales oriented. She kept just asking "anything else" instead of creating an experience for us. The bigger the bill the bigger her tip but she made it very obvious. She was very aggressive. Food is nothing crazy. The drinks were extremely strong. Pure vodka with a splash of flavor. It's a very elegant place.

Note: not our 1st rodeo @ Mastro's Our server Omar was the most perfect server I ever encountered and the food was delicious as usual. Came for Restaurant Week (RW) but only 1 of us participated. Love that there are 4 different options in the bread offering - didn't realize they charged for it though. For restaurant week I had: Crispy Garlic Tuna Sashimi Norwegian Cold Salmon (Blackened) Signature Butter Cake Drink - Glass of Kesseler Reisling My mom ordered from the regular menu and had: Lobster Bisque Jumbo Lobster Tail Drink - Call An Uber (?) We shared: Brussel Sprouts Grilled Asparagus Here's where it gets REALLy good - my mom read a version of the menu online that included Oysters Rockefeller but wasn't on the menu in-restaurant. Omar was able to ask chef to make them and also offered to bring me a small salad alongside (not included in RW or asked for) so I wasn't just sitting while my mom had her 1st app. RW came with dessert and my mom didn't order any dessert. Omar brought her a butter cake too! Everything was good - only changes we would've made is instead of clarified butter being served with the lobster is that we had butter with some of the cream still in it. Needless to say, Mastro's food is pretty phenomenal but so is the service. Will be returning again & again.

I love Chicago steak houses but I haven't been to Mastros in years! I usually go to maple and ash but I think mastros is better! I forgot how good this place is! I can't wait to go back again. Amber was my server and she was excellent and Kim the manager checked in often and was amazing! Everything was scrumptious. My friend enjoyed their steak and seafood as well. The portion was so generous. My daughter finished the other half of the steak when I got home. I had the side dish Scalloped potatoes, the NY steak parmesan crust, and butter-cake the desert to die for.

Pam S.

My date and I came here during restaurant week. We absolutely loved everything! The food, desserts, the cocktails and service was phenomenal. I'm definitely coming back, I highly recommend this steak house.

They also had a wonderful person working in the men's bathroom and he was a gem. Our daughter spilled a bit on her shirt and one of the servers had a Tide pen. The negative: for a restaurant where you going to spend over $100 a person, we had to ask twice for water refills, in fact one time we asked the manager and he had to track down our servers. The seating is just ok, it's pretty loud as your on top of each other really. The steak was above average but not great. They seems to char the outside see pictures and it was fairly bland, got the filet. Salad was drowned with dressing and had virtually nothing other than 2 average cheap grape tomatoes. The sides were just ok. I wanted to be blown away as Chicago is "known" for their steaks, the waiter even said they had their own rating. Meh... After eating twice in Vegas this month and getting wagyu I guess I'm spoiled. Go once to get the experience.

And he did, punctuating our dinner with a wonderful dessert with a birthday candle. Speaking of candles, the focaccia appetizer came out with a lit candle that melts a tasty, buttery dipping sauce. I had work done at the dentist earlier, so I had a hard time eating. Every bite was painful, but I heated up our leftovers and fell in love with my rigatoni with vodka sauce all over again. Yum. You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well.
