My partner and I went on a late lunch date as our original plan turned out to be closed. We had been here before and weren't entirely thrilled to go back but decided to give it a second chance, since everyone raves about this place - no doubt a symptom of herd mentality. We were seated and given menus. Since we knew what we wanted, we put down the menus and waited for someone to take our order. No one took our orders but someone came and took away our menus! 10 minutes after that, we had to chase someone down to get our order placed - despite being sat directly next to the waiter station. The "appetizer bar" or whatever it's called is incredibly bland and underwhelming every time. The cold but cooked vegetables were an odd choice and equally as bland as everything else. Even the appetizers given to the table are the same disappointment - tasteless fried dough balls and overvooked plaintains. We waited quite a while for our meet to come out and when it finally did, it was wrong. I had gotten my meat medium rare and my partner got well-done. We were given the opposite of what we asked, the sight of the rare meat made my partner uncomfortable and nauseous. She was able to eventually get the right cut of meat. I waited over 25 minutes for my next cut, even had the manager come to ensure me it would be coming out, and it never did. We gave up and requested the check so we could get the hell out of there. It was then that we noticed that on top of them no longer providing the "unlimited meat" deal they are known for, they are charging $8 more for less food! Pitiful display of service and well below par food. I wish we would've left before ever ordering $100 for one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have ever had. Group of 12 ladies enjoyed our time for a gaucho lunch! Excellent assortment of beautifully displayed salads, veggies,etc. and the carrot soup was delicious with special toppings. We couldn't believe the choices included butter tender salmon as well as a splendid black rice cold salad. I can't even express how delicious the candied bacon was and we were delighted to learn that the salads, etc included in the gaucho lunch special vary from time to time! Make note that above and beyond all these offerings, there were additional surprise delicacies brought right to our long table for twelve. The only unsatisfactory fact was areas of hard flooring was slippery for all of us - age 58 years and up. Hopefully my talk with the manager will mean this will never happen again. This restaurant is very beautifully appointed. Housekeeping is of utmost importance ultimately for the safety of your guests. We reserved Fogo for a very large group lunch. Service was good and they took care of our party. The meats were plentiful, but I thought some were over salted. I'm sensitive to salt, but even my husband refused to eat some cuts because of the amount of salt that was added on the crust of the meat. I always have to request the beef rib for it come out and it took a good 15-20 minutes to get it. Super duper tender, fatty and moist. It's one of my favorite cuts, but they usually don't bring it out for some reason. I always have to ask for it specifically. Salad bar was large and plentiful. Tons of space during lunch service on the weekend. I don't eat a ton in one sitting, so buffets and all you can eat restaurants are usually not my thing. But Fogo is pretty good at what they do. read more

They made sure that we had all that we needed, and suggested new things to try. The food is delicious and always there when looking for the next great thing to try. The meats are tender and always hot straight from the fire. Destinee was eager to help and Rebecca was also very attentive without being overbearing. (Drink/Happy Hour Review) Was doing a little Christmas shopping in Oakbrook on Wednesday and decided to stop in for a quick drink and bar food. Unbeknownst to me they actually had a great happy hour. The happy hour is from like 4:30-6:30pm during the week. The menu in my opinion is very extensive and very reasonable. Chicken spicy sliders are like $9, shrimp lobster tacos $10, wine $6, a variety of cocktails for $8 and the list goes on. They even give you complimentary cheese bread bites. I haven't seen a happy hour extensive like this in a long time. The restaurant and bar area is beautiful. The staff were attentive and professionally kind. This was our first experience at this restaurant. The restaurant environment, quality of food and service lived up to all the hype that we had heard about from various reviews and online influencers. We chose the Churrasco Experience on a Sunday afternoon which included the Brunch Market Table. Our favorites were the Picanha (both top sirloin and lamb), among the already other delicious and tender steaks. The cheese bread and caramelized bananas were our favorite sides. The brunch market table provided a great respite from the continuous stream of meats arriving at our table. The servers came around several times to offer the meat, ask us how everything was and if we needed anything in particular. They were happy to fulfill our requests for whatever we needed. We had brought with us a list of everything we wanted to try on the menu. James the concierge, ensured that we were able to sample every item on our list. My sister-in-law made reservations for 18 people for my brother's 40th Birthday. We all arrived and was standing around 30 minutes after our reservations time. I went and spoke with the Manager Tom who was phenomenal. He understood our frustrations and made sure we were all accommodated for the wait. I was at the Oak Brook Fogo location last night with my husband, father, and son to celebrate my son's 14th birthday. TLDR, I won't be returning to this Fogo location again. The food was great and the servers were kind, which is I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. But it ends there. Overall it was an unpleasant experience. We were there at 5:15 pm on a Saturday and the entrance was jam-packed, even though it wasn't late. Thank God we had a reservation. Our table was right next to the entrance so people waiting to be seated were standing inches away from our table. It felt claustrophobic. And with it being so crowded, it was extremely loud. Even with our table of only 4, it was difficult to have a conversation. If you want to go with a larger group, you can forget about people being able to talk with each other. The design of this Fogo location is different from others I've been to and other Brazilian steakhouses. There are several tables set up against walls, which is where we sat. This prevents the meat servers (apologies, I can't remember the correct term) from flowing through and finding us when we wanted more meat. We're pretty sure we missed some items. Also since the tables were so cramped, the servers' rear ends were often in our faces when serving the table next to us. Uggh. This location doesn't have the nice, open feel that others I've been to have. Another problem with it being so crowded was that in order to get to the restroom, we had to fight our way through the people waiting to get to the other side. It was very annoying. Service was slow, even though all the different servers were friendly. Problems included, amongst others, my husband having to ask for ice for his *iced* tea. And when we ordered coffee, we didn't get any cream or spoons and the coffee was cold by the time we received them. I would go to Fogo again but not here. There are other Brazilian options in the Western burbs, don't waste your time or money here. read more

Our guests seemed to have really enjoyed the food and service too. Christine, the events manager, was probably the best part of our entire planning experience. Not only was she professional, clear in her communication, and polite, but she also went above and beyond, replying to us during her off hours on her personal phone and accommodating last-minute changes on the night before and the day-of. One waitress came checked our bread amount by looking in the bread basket dod not say a word to us. I personally think a lot of the servers are racists. Am I late to the Fogo de Chao train? Quite possibly, and boy have I been missing out! My husband and I went for a date night at the Naperville location last night, and what a treat! We did the full experience, which gave us full access to the salad bar, assorted table side meats, and yummy appetizers. I have a few things to share if you're a first time or repeat diner! 1. Come HUNGRY! When they say all you can eat they mean it! 2. Remember your "Thank You's." All of the staff we encountered were kind, attentive, and professional. Thank them for their great service! 3. GET THE TRES LECHES CAKE! I don't care how full you are. 4. Get the filet mignon, bacon wrapped chicken, ribeye, and the fried cheese when it comes around! Those were our favorites. 5. It is BUSY, so make a reservation on Open Table for n advance and do not show up a minute before your scheduled time or you will likely be standing in the lobby area waiting. All in all, such a great date night experience. I will admit; we might've eaten a bit too much, but what is life if you're not splurging and enjoying it with the one you love sometimes!
