We had a very disappointing experience at Perry's in Oakbrook on Saturday, June 20, 2026. My sister, our daughters, and I were seated for lunch when our server, Casper, came to take our order. As we ordered drinks, he asked only my daughter (33 years old) and my niece (39 years old) for identification. My niece explained that she had her ID available digitally on her phone. Casper said he needed a physical ID but would check with a manager to see if the digital version could be accepted. After speaking with management, he returned and informed us that a digital ID would not be accepted. He explained that the restaurant's policy required physical IDs from anyone who appeared to be 30 years old or younger. When we expressed our frustration and said we would not be dining there because of this policy, he showed no concern and offered no apology. We were curious about a random age requirement if the server thought you "looked" 30 or younger although the legal drinking age in Illinois is 21. Before leaving, we asked to speak with a manager. Ryan, the manager, met us at the door, and we explained that we were disappointed that our niece could not order a drink despite having a valid digital ID. Rather than addressing our concern, he compared the situation to him being carded at liquor stores. We pointed out that this was a restaurant, not a liquor store, and that the policy appeared to be applied selectively based exclusively on the server's judgment. Ryan offered no apology and referred us to the General Manager. When Christa, the General Manager, joined us, we asked why the restaurant used a 30-year-old threshold when the legal drinking age in Illinois is 21. She initially stated that the policy was to request IDs from all guests ordering alcohol. I explained that only my daughter and niece had been asked for IDs. She then revised her explanation, saying that servers request IDs from anyone who appears younger than 30, making the policy exclusively dependent on the server's judgment. We also pointed out that we observed a nearby table of younger-looking guests had been served alcoholic beverages, but their server did not ask for their IDs. Christa questioned our observation. What was most disappointing was that neither Ryan nor Christa apologized for the inconvenience or acknowledged our concerns. As first-time guests, we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we will not be dining at Perry's in Oakbrook again and has left a bad impression of Perry's management team, in general. We came here for my husband's birthday, and everything was 10/10-food, service, vibes, and decor! Our server was incredibly friendly and professional, and he gave us great recommendations. Okay wow. Perry's Steakhouse & Grille was fancy in every possible way. Romantic, intimate lighting, super polished space. The service really made it though. Our server was unreal. She was funny, warm, knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and somehow kept us laughing the whole time. She recommended the Prime Ribeye. For a drink, I ordered the Pineapple Ginger Ale from their shaken sodas. Fresh muddled pineapple, mint, lime, topped with ginger ale. Super refreshing and clean. Honestly perfect before a steak. When the ribeye hit the table, it looked incredible. Deep, dark sear with real char, crispy edges, butter melting on top, juices already running. First cut was tender and cooked just right. That first bite made me pause. Smoky crust, rich beefy flavor, buttery finish all at once. The fat was rendered perfectly, adding flavor without being greasy. I usually take my direct reports out for dinner for the holidays, allowing them to pick the place of their choice. Since this location was close to home for the three of them, Perry's was the choice for dinner. I realize that this establishment is nothing like Cooper's Hawk, but I can't help feeling that there are similarities in terms of the service and decor. I will say that all points were hit at this location with the exception of not having that Turtle Gumbo (complete with Sherry on the side) that the Schaumburg location had earlier this year. That said, I am giving this location total props for their loaded mash potatoes were on point! I could have just eaten those all by themselves! For an appetizer I got the steak lettuce wraps. While quite tasty, they were a little hard to eat as a wrap, so I ended up knife and forking it. For dinner I had the surf and turf (steak and lobster tail). Flavor-wise, this was a tasty dish, but I was a little put off my the presentation. Visually I kept thinking about how fajitas look with oil in the bottom of the serving dish. My direct reports all loved their meals and were especially in love with the grilled veggies and pork lollipops. I thought the corn brulee was interesting. Sort of reminded me of a skillet prepared cream of corn dish. I enjoyed it. My direct reports also loved the various cocktails they ordered. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale but comfortable--perfect for a special night out without feeling stuffy. Came here for an anniversary dinner and had a great time! Diana was our waitress who was attentive , kind and helpful! They were playing great music but it wasn't so loud you couldn't hear yourself. Really beautiful restaurant with great food! We came in and did the 3 course Sunday supper deal and got the wedge salad, and pork chop entre ( with extra garlic butter, pro tip). UPDATE to our Father's day experience... I'm updating my review because I believe it's only fair to recognize both the original experience and how Perry's handled it afterward. Following my review, Guest Relations representative Kristina Brune reached out, took the time to listen, acknowledged that Perry's fell short of its standards, apologized for the experience, and followed through on a $150 electronic gift card as a gesture of goodwill. I genuinely appreciated her professionalism throughout the process. Today, my husband and I decided to give Perry's another chance after shopping nearby. I can honestly say the experience was night and day compared to Father's Day. We chose to sit on the patio, and from the beginning the service was outstanding. Our drinks took a little longer than expected, but before we even mentioned it, they were graciously removed from our bill. Assistant General Manager Ryan Sprague introduced himself, checked on us throughout the evening, and made us feel genuinely valued as guests. Ironically, my steak again wasn't cooked to the temperature I ordered. The difference this time was how it was handled. The steak was promptly taken back, and within minutes Ryan personally returned with a perfectly cooked replacement and made sure everything was exactly as it should be. That simple interaction showed me exactly what was missing on Father's Day. Mistakes happen. Great restaurants are defined by how they respond when they do. Our server, Kasani, was exceptional. His recommendations were fantastic, his attentiveness was outstanding, and he delivered the level of hospitality we've always associated with Perry's. This is the Perry's experience we've enjoyed over the years and the reason we've continued dining there. My Father's Day experience will always remain disappointing, especially because it was a meaningful family celebration that we can't recreate. However, I also believe in giving credit where it's deserved. Thank you to Kristina Brune, Ryan Sprague, and Kasani for restoring some of the confidence that was lost. (Well, according to Perry's before 5 pm is still lunch!) Kyle was our server and he was excellent. He reviewed the menu and recommended items. Cocktails were excellent and flavorful. Plenty of options on happy hour menu. We ordered an appetizer and to me it was only ok. Very overpowering onion flavor. Pork chop very tasty and of course huge! Whipped potatoes were only ok. Everything was amazing! And they were very accommodating. There was ONLY an 8oz filet on the menu, but I thought it was too much. I asked for a 6oz. instead. They were able to respond positively to my request. When my steak arrived, I quickly learned that it was wrapped in bacon, a little detail that was omitted from the menu. The bacon presented a dilemma for me. When I informed my waiter, Vincent, they quickly corrected the matter and delivered a deliciously perfect 6oz filet. I also had one of the best house salads I've ever tasted in my life! The pecans truly set off the arugula. I'm a fan of vegetables! Whenever I have a chance to order Creamed Spinach, I do. Most times it's a hit or miss proposition! That was not the case at Perry's. They have the best Creamed Spinach I've had to each anywhere in the world! Finally tried this place for Chicago Restaurant Week and definitely recommend. The ambience is amazing with rich undertones. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our date night. We had a group of six yesterday evening for dinner. Two of our couples were retiring from an exchange program, and the coordinators were thanking as for our years of service. As we seated at the table, our waitress picked up right away that we had so much to talk about and so she gave us a lot of breathing room. She kind of tapped us one at a time to get our drink order, never interrupting the flow of conversation. After we had our cocktail and had settled in, she asked us if we were ready to order or if we needed more time to catch up. We ordered and everything came out at a perfect pace! My husband really liked the sunflower seeds on the side that he added in for the salad. Now for the food - we had the calamari as a starter. If you're a fan of peppers, give it a try because it did have a little heat (which I enjoy.) The main course was the wagyu trio; they served 3oz cuts of a wagyu filet, NYC step and ribeye. I wish I could accurately explain 1) how good the steak was and 2) how full I was off of those small cuts of meat. For me this was a top 10 experience due to the flavor and fact I had leftovers when done. The sides were loaded mash, brussel sprouts and mushrooms. All 3 were good, but I liked the mushrooms the least. There was sadly no room for dessert, but plenty of room for drinks! Their Paloma was solid; one of the better ones I've tried. There's a whiskey cocktail I tried which was legit too but I didn't recall the name. In short - you can't go wrong with their specialty cocktails. The tab was what you would expect - expensive. Now the bad, had a 7:30 reservation but didn't get a table until like 8:15 guess I can chalk that up to going on Mother's Day weekend. Then after dinner the young lady mixed up my card with another table and I got billed for their dinner and then mines also, so it was a big mess to straighten out. The food is also very expensive on par with some of downtown Chicago's steakhouses so don't expect a break because it's the suburbs. Went with a party of 12 to celebrate my sister's birthday. Food = awesome. Waiter = awesome. However, they dropped a bomb with the closing performance. When we made the reservation , we were informed that the restaurant would accommodate separate checks. When we sat down, the waiter assured us again and even confirmed the bill break out with us by party. After our meal was complete, a different staff member came over with some piece of paper saying he was looking for a person at our table. Once the person was identified, the staff member proceeded to say out loud " when you made the reservation, you signed a contract and the contract says we do not split out the bills. You can use different cards for lump payment but we will not itemize/ break it out for you." This was unprofessional and different from what was confirmed with us when seated and upon making reservations when asked. They gawked at us as we scurried to adjust to this new news at the last minute. This was weird and unprofessional. After we figured it out, the waiter came back to apologize and the other staff member disappeared. I guess he was just sent to do the dirty work. He wasn't the general manager as he claimed he had discussed this issue with him. read more

And everything else on the menu--which you can find online. If you decide to upgrade, I would choose the to-go only every day option 3 for $49. It's a steal; rob your bank and get it. We were seated and our waiter didn't come to greet us for another 10 minutes! When he finally came, he went straight to an another couple who was seated after us! I anticipate ordering my favorite, Sea Bass, unfortunately they made us order from the special menu, which had basic options you'd find at a basic steakhouse. My party of four just had dinner at Perry's. I did not want fries and substituted mash potatoes. My order came with both and a manager came and said which ones do you want. They made the mistake by giving me both. So they took away the mash potatoes only because my entree had the fries on the plate and I would have not had anything if they took the fries away. My family and I dined here to celebrate my baby sisters 22nd birthday. Tom was our server and he was incredible! Knowledgeable about every menu item, kind, hospitable, and just a pleasure to be around. Great food and service. We were seated immediately and the waitstaff was attentive. The restaurant itself was beautiful. I ordered the pork chop skewers they were a bit dry but the sauce that accompanied it was delish. I also had the loaded potatoes and the Cesar salad. The salad included pumpkin seeds which gave it a great crunch. Overall great restaurant. read more

Came out in the bitter cold to Perry's Steakhouse for restaurant week. We have enjoyed Perry's in the past but this time has truly swayed us not to return. My husband ordered the French onion soup and I ordered the Caesar salad both were delicious. For our entree he order the pork chop and I upgraded to the prime rib steak. I asked for medium and it came over done, salty and charred underneath. I sent it back and asked for another. I had the unfortunate full view of my waiter and the main cook examining the steak I sent back. In the meantime since no side comes with we ordered a loaded mashed potato. We waited what about 20 minutes. No potato, no steak.. At this point my husband had eaten part of his pork chop and was feeding me bites to hold me over. Totally unacceptable, I was frustrated and disappointed because the restaurant was not at busy. No communication, no apologies. I told my waiter to cancel my dish altogether. My husband asked for his food to be packed up as we were both ready to leave. They left us a couple to go bags to which I assumed was his left over pork chop and his dessert. I asked for a manager to let them know that this was an awful and disappointing experience. My husband was given the bill and told they had adjusted something off of it.. what I didn't know was that they actually charged us for my dish that i had asked them to cancel. Instead they decided to wrap it up to go. I spoke to the manager once again and wanted the charge to be removed as I did not want the steak! The manager said she would remove it but was unaware that it had been canceled and at least we get to enjoy a meal out of this.. the apology received earlier and the statement made in the end was not at all the experience or expectation for an upscale steakhouse which should probably be renamed to Perry's Famous Porkchop. read more
