Picanha burger came out lukewarm & overcooked
Chloe P.

Stopped by for their happy hour around 3pm & was greeted promptly by a worker. We ordered 2 picanha burgers & spiced chicken sliders. It took 40 minutes for the sliders to come out and another 20 minutes for the burgers to be delivered. Before we got the burgers, the worker informed us that they ran out of polenta 40 minutes after ordering & they would sub it with regular fries. Makes me wonder if they even started our order at the time we placed them. After 1 hour of waiting for the burgers, I was excited to eat but was frustrated to find that the burger was cooked well done instead of medium rare like I'd asked for. I didn't end up finishing it or requesting a new one because I thought it'd take another hour. AND the burger was lukewarm instead of hot. Seems to me that they first made the burgers & ran out of polenta so we had to wait for 1 hour. For this being an upscale dining restaurant, I was really disappointed with the food & service as the whole staff seemed absent minded. We requested refills on the cheeseballs & it never came out. We sat at the bar area so we were almost always next to a server but he seemed to be inattentive & withdrawn from us. It seemed like the workers didn't want to be at work. I get that servers have those days but it was no excuse to forget our requests & even refill water. (We had to ask for water refills too). No one checked in on us & we felt we were an annoyance to the staff. The restaurant wasn't busy at all as we were 2 of 4 people at the bar. Overall, it was a horrible dining experience where we were late to other plans because the food took 1 hour to arrive. I wouldn't spend $ here when there are better options without the slow service & poor food quality, like Texas de Brazil.

We tried the four-course experience at Fogo de Chão in Irvine and it was a great option for a nice dinner out. It offers a similar experience to the Full Churrasco with a curated selection of meats and dessert included. The servers were attentive, friendly and made sure we always had everything we needed. We've been to this location many times and it consistently delivers excellent food and service. It was another wonderful dining experience from start to finish.

Fogo de chao is a great place for a family gathering or birthday celebration. It was interesting to see all the meat options brought to the table. I being a vegan, was pretty limited in food selection, however my friends and boyfriend enjoyed the skirt steak the most out of all the meat options. The salad bar was a little underwhelming to me, I liked the eggplant and dragon fruit, but felt there could be more for building a salad. The restaurant was very clean and the servers were very kind. All and all it was a fun time

Came here for the first time with some friends, but we only sat at the bar and ordered food. The restaurant itself is really nice, and when we visited it wasn't crowded at all. Since they weren't busy, I honestly expected the service to be a little quicker. We stopped by for happy hour, and the menu had some great options. I've never had Brazilian food before, so I was excited to try something new. We ordered the vegetable fries (I can't remember the exact name), and they were delicious, filling, and definitely big enough to share. I also got the hibiscus cocktail, which was refreshing and really good. The shrimp and lobster lettuce tacos were another favorite super flavorful and surprisingly filling. My husband ordered the burger, and one of our friends got the strip steak. Now, let's talk about the service. The bartender was great and very friendly, but the timing of the food coming out was disappointing. We all placed our orders at the same time, yet my husband's burger took forever to arrive. Everyone else at the table received their food, finished eating, and was practically done with their meals before his burger finally came out. I was honestly confused how a steak dish made it to the table before a burger, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy on a Saturday. That part of the experience definitely put a damper on our visit. I understand delays happen, but when the restaurant isn't packed, it's frustrating to have one person's meal come out so much later than everyone else's. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but the service timing needs some work. Hopefully, if I decide to come back, the experience will be a lot smoother because I really wanted to like this place.

I stopped by here with a friend for lunch. They offered a salad-bar-only option for just $18, which is an amazing deal, so we went in looking for a simple, budget-friendly, and delicious meal. After telling the staff we would only be using the salad bar, we were seated and ordered our drinks. When I went to get the food, I was pleased with the variety, and the presentation looked wonderful. I filled my plate with various salads, smoked salmon, egg salad and chicken salad for protein, and fresh fruits before heading back to my seat.We sat by the window overlooking the patio, and this is where I have to explain why I can only give this place 3 stars.First, as you can see in the photo, the patio chairs were stacked on top of the tables. Even if I overlook that since it wasn't the rush hour yet, there were boxes piled on top of those stacked chairs. Isn't Fogo de Chão supposed to be an upscale Brazilian steakhouse? It was a head-scratching sight. Even if they wanted to save themselves the trouble of moving the chairs, they shouldn't just pile boxes up like that.Second, even though we visited shortly after they opened for lunch, the floor was incredibly dirty. It looked like they hadn't swept since the night before--or even longer--with all kinds of crumbs scattered around. They were under our table and under the neighboring tables too. Whether it is a fine dining restaurant or not, floor cleanliness is the absolute basics of hygiene.Third, the bread. While the salad bar has plenty of options, some foods just taste better when paired with bread. When we went up, there wasn't even a tray out for the bread. We waited, but it was finally served a whole hour later, just as we were finishing our meal. On top of that, it was disappointing that empty food trays were not refilled quickly.Aside from these three issues, the food was fresh and delicious, and the quality of the fruit was excellent. Above all, getting access to that entire salad bar for just $18 at lunch is the biggest selling point. If you ask me whether I would visit again, my answer is yes.

Passionate caipirinha ($10)

Fogo de Chão is a Brazilian steakhouse (churrascaria) chain with locations across the country. It's an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) restaurant that specializes in fire-roasted meats served table side. This location is at the Irvine Spectrum; when you first walk in it looks deceptively small but there's a much bigger space when you turn the corner. For the churrasco experience, they have a system where you flip your card green if you want more meat and red if you want to pause. There's also a salad bar with salads, cheese, veggies, and other cold foods. They also have all day happy hour which is what we came for. The lobster & shrimp tacos ($13.50) were on a Napa cabbage and not a flour/corn tortilla so beware of that; the tacos were big but there wasn't much lobster. The picanha burger ($10) was juicy and I liked the dipping sauce on it as well. The filet mignon board ($17.50) was tender and I liked the chimichurri. For drinks the passionate caipirinha ($10) and strawberry hibiscus caipirinha ($10) were refreshing and easy to drink. They also have complimentary pão de queijo (cheese bread) that was fluffy on the outside and cheesy and chewy on the inside. We loved this and we kept asking for more. The big issue was that the service was pretty lacking. It took a long time to get our food and drinks, about 40 minutes for our tacos and 60 minutes for our burger. When we did get our burger our server said that we would get the polenta fries separately because it was taking too long and then they eventually forgot until we asked for it. Even then, they only gave us a few pieces. I've been to other locations which were better than what I had here. Some of the dishes we had was better than others but the service was not great.

Chose Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse because it was my business partner's first time and he's really into fitness, so it fit his lifestyle. The three of us were celebrating a business win and expected top-notch service for this kind of dining experience. We went with the full churrasco experience, which worked out well for hitting our protein goals. I mostly stuck with leaner cuts like chicken and filet mignon, skipped the picanha since it's fattier, but the ribeye stood out--salted really well and super flavorful. It got busy for a Thursday afternoon, so coming early helped. Meats were coming around consistently at first, and we ended up showing our friend how everything works. Service though... was lacking. We kept having to look for our server and ask the gauchos to track them down. Not ideal for this type of restaurant. Shoutout to Ajay though--he was attentive and gave the best service. Desserts were mixed: * Key lime pie was the best--nice and tart * Tres leches was good, but I've had better * Papaya cream wasn't for me Overall, I'd say 3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4 for the food and experience. Just wish the service matched.

We've eaten at other Fogo locations and usually we have the Full Churrasco and Market Table. This time we weren't that hungry so it was the entrees with the Market Table. The Market Table was well stocked, even with the large crowd it was fresh & full. From the entree menu I chose the Chilean Sea Bass. It was delicious, moist and flaky. The Mrs had the Pan Seared Salmon, edges dry - to be expected. However the interior was nice and moist. The chimichurri sauce added great flavor. We were happy with our meal and it was just enough. We're thinking entree instead of the AYCE was our best choice and probably will be from now on.

The place is dark and classy inside with plenty of seating. It was fun having them come around and slice different meats at the table however some of the meat was a little dry and chewy so some meats were better than others. What saved it for me was the market table salad bar. Everything there was fresh and delicious. They have various fruits, salads, meats and cheeses and other items. Service in the beginning wasn't the best as we didn't get an actual server until the end of our dining experience but they definitely tried to make up for it and were very attentive towards the end. It's a pricey dinner but I think it's worth it once in a while.

Had a reservation here and was seated promptly. They have dim ambiant lighting that was too dark at times, but it eventually leveled out. Nice level of chatter and music. Had an amazing birthday dinner experience here. Appetizers were tasty, but I liked the potatoes the most. Top cuts of meat would be the wagyu sirloin and picanha. I'd pass on the chicken and top sirloin, which were a little dry. Grilled pineapple is a must-try, super sweet and seasoned with cinnamon to pair with the savory meats. Their salad bar wasn't as large as I imagined, but I enjoyed the beets and street corn. The lobster tail that came with the indulgent menu was well cooked. Jacino was our bartender and he served up a big shot of tequila. Great guy, positive vibes. He was also knowledgeable about the drinks. All of the servers were also kind and attentive. While I did get full a bit quick, I'm glad I tried the indulgent menu. Would recommend trying Fogo de Chao at least once.

We had a gift card here from the holidays and stopped in on weekend. We sat at the bar and it was almost full at noon. The filet came out quickly on the hot plate. I always order their crabcakes at the bar. They are the best! No filler, just delicious, real crab meat. This dish took took 20 mins to come out, but the bartender was quick and got us some pao de queijo and wine. I think her name was Sheila and she was busy carrying crates of glasses, serving and pouring drinks. She handled the bar well solo! The white wine from Chile was okay. I would try another white next time. I really enjoy their bar menu as there are some great deals there, so I'll try to stop by again.

I love a good churrasco and I been craving some Picanha and a caipirinha for a while now and tonight those cravings were satisfied Yummy food! The place has a vibe located at the Irvine spectrum mall Our servers and waitresses were great and friendly and the meat was cooked to perfection The salad bar had some great options from stews to charcuterie and other salads Cheeseballs anyone? Yum I will say the 3s leches could have been a little softer but still I enjoyed my meal

This plate empty of meat wasn't a good sign.

Ask the Community - Fogo de Chão

How much per adult?

Depends on what you order and if you go during lunch or dinner. Lunch is definitely an excellent deal

Does fogo de chao accept cash?

Yes, they do accept cash. We ate there a few months back and my husband had paid cash for our meals.

Are there any halal options?

No, I don't think so but there is an all you can eat salad bar. Also, they have fish on there menu so you don't have to do the meat option.

How are birthdays acknowledged? A comped dessert or meal discount?

When making our reservation, they asked if we were celebrating any special occasion. My husband told them in the reservation and in person at the restaurant that it was my birthday, and they did nothing to acknowledge it.

Does individual entree order come with salad bar? or should i pay separately for salad bar?

Yes it does! The salad bar alone is a feast, so pace yourself!

Does this location have an all day happy hour menu?

They do not

Does this location offer grilled pineapple?

Yes you just have to ask your server. It comes grilled with cinnamon.

Is the lunch menu for experience the same price for weekday and weekend? Only helpful answers...

Hi Karen, They only offer the lunch prices for the experience during the week. They only have dinner prices on the weekend.

How much is lunch weekday right now?

$18 for market table, 45$ for all meat experience

Does Irvine location allow you to bring your own bottle of wine and what is the corkage fee?

Yes, $35 corkage fee

Is the 44$ deal still on? And is it for dinner?

Yes it's for dinner (starting at 2PM). You need to mention the deal at reservation and check-in, so you don't get charged the full price.

They have $44 special going on in Irvine location but don't know when expires?

As of 8/11/23 the Irvine Spectrum location still has the deal. It's extended beyond its original expiration, but not valid on Holidays. Call ahead and ask to make sure, but it should be active a while longer!

What is their corkage fee?

$35

Is the lunch salad bar $15 on Memorial Day?

Unfortunately, They usually do not have that price for Holidays.

Do we need reservations or can we walk in?

You do not need reservations but it is recommended that you make a reservation because it can get pretty busy.

Can you ask for the meat well done?

Yes. You can ask for any temperature on the meats. I usually order medium rare. Sometimes I have to wait for the next round if the meat is well done. Generally the gauchos know the temperature of the meat. To be sure they can cut into it to show you…

CAKE Question: would it be okay for me to bring in CAKE (outside food) for my wedding celebration at Fogo de Chao?

I've seen other do this for large parties, So I would say you should be able to. I would suggest checking with management to be safe.

What are all the asterisks on the menu for? I see no reference anywhere on the menu to explain the meaning.

It is actually at the bottom of the menu in all the text. The asterisks refer to the warning about consuming under cooked meat.

Does this price include the beverage? $44.95 per person for brunch.

It does not.

Do they offer Non-AYCE menu?

Yes, there are other options as well.
