We came to Ruth Chris to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had reservation and they seated up almost immediately. Our server was professional and attentive. They even gave us a special menu for the birthday person with his name on the printed menu,and the confetti on the table!! They made it special for the birthday person!!! All of us ordered the 3 courses for $60 special deal. It came with French Onion Soup or Salad, followed by entree of our choice on the special menu, with a selection of side dish, and a Vanilla or Chocolate Cheese cake dessert. All of us ordered the 6 oz filet Mignon with shrimps, with sides of garlic mashed potatoes, cream spinach and Russell sprouts. They were all well season and delicious. The steak house salad was good size. We all thought it will be just a small side salad, but to our surprise, it was a good size one. The filet magnon was cooked to our preference perfectly. Instead of our Cheesecake dessert, we upgraded to a Creme Brulee and a Carrot cake. The were all well made and tasty. The restaurant were packed, so it was kind of noisy. You are better off getting something on the regular meal in place of the chicken. It was salty on the outside and when I cut the breast of was stuffed with a cheese that was added flavor to the breast but it was too much seasoning and too much cheese. The steak on the other hand, was cooked perfectly medium rare and the shrimp was a nice compliment to the steak. I paid extra for the asparagus as I always enjoy their asparagus with hollandaise sauce. It's an extra $5 but really enjoyed it as I like asparagus. The Brussel sprouts were really good as they also have bacon/pancetta that add a good flavor to the sprouts. The mashed potatoes were super creamy but next time I would trade for a baked potato and pay the difference. As for the soup, we had the French onion soup and the lobster bisque. You can upgrade your course to other choices for a charge. The lobster bisque actually had the lobster pieces or longastino pieces that were visible in the soup unlike many places were you can't find the meat in the soup. I'm a French Onion soup fan and have to say this was one of my favorite French onion soups that I've tasted. As for the dessert, we were way too stuffed to eat our dessert so we tried one and took the rest to go. It was a cheesecake with berries. A nice ending I the meal and a perfect size for a desert. You can't beat a three course meal at Ruth's Chris's Steak House for $60! The only disappointment was that I ordered white wine. When it was served, there was a black dot inside the glass. As I tried to unstick the black dot thinking it was probably a chipped glass, the black dot unstuck and floated in the wine. As a ex-bartender and server, the bartender should have caught that when they served it. I told the server and he changed it for a new glass but the wine did not come back chilled as it was when it was first served. I can assume the same wine was given back to me without the black dot floating on top of the wine but to give the benefit of the doubt, the server took a while to get it back to me so possibly the wine sat at the bar getting unchilled after some time. The chicken was way too salty. It's called a steak house for a reason. It's a basic rule to not order chicken at a steak house. The mashed potatoes were ok. The service was great! The server, was good, the person refilling water and bread was constantly there without having to ask. I love ordering from Ruth Chris's to go as they are always fast and the food quality is always fresh. However, I just am not a fan of going in to the restaurant. Im not sure if its because they are always busy and used to people coming in and out but the service is never truly enjoyable. The staff that assist in bussing have always been kind and attentive, but the last two servers assisting us could not seem more disinterested in assisting the table. Love coming here for happy hour. Our bartender, Rachel, was very nice and friendly. I had the blueberry mojito and it was very refreshing. The seared ahi was so DELICIOUS and the chicken sandwich and fries is big enough to split. Our main meal started with a Caesar salad and I enjoyed the dressing, and it had a nice amount of Parmesan cheese. I had the filet that came out sizzling and cooked perfectly medium rare. The side dishes, of mushroom, mashed potatoes, and broccoli, were yummy and wonderful side dishes. The berries and cream was a perfect ending. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have dined at several Ruth's Chris locations over the years, including Cancun, Hawaii, Palm Desert, and Anaheim, so I was excited to return to the Irvine location for a second visit. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. We arrived around 6:30 p.m. and headed to the host stand because we planned to sit at the bar. As soon as we walked in, no one greeted us. Instead, it felt like the hosts looked my boyfriend up and down and then greeted the guests who arrived after us. I can't say for certain why, but it honestly made us feel judged, possibly because my boyfriend was wearing jeans. Once we made our way to the bar, things didn't improve. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes without anyone greeting us, offering water, or taking our drink order. Meanwhile, the bartender continued checking on the gentlemen seated next to us while we were completely overlooked. When we finally ordered, we got a steak sandwich and a burger. It took approximately 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. During that time, another gentleman came in around 7:15 p.m., was greeted immediately, served wine, and received his steak before we even got our sandwiches even though he arrived well after we did.I do want to recognize Sally, who apologized and genuinely tried to make things right. We appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Overall, we left feeling like we weren't treated the same as other guests because we looked younger and weren't dressed the way the staff expected. I came to celebrate the Woman, Life, Freedom Movement and Free Iran. A big win today for the people living in Iran, liberated from their religious authoritarian cleric. I was seated in Pamela's section who was very hospitable and helped me select a glass of Belle Glos Pinot Noir. We discussed the menu and chose 26 oz. The ambiance here is very intimate and the Christmas decorations feel so festive this year Service is straight up benchmark breaking from the hosts Cheri and staff, the manager Bill making us feel VIP every time, to Jared which made our entire dinner feel so special. Food - I love the cowboy Ribeye.... It's literally my all time favorite steak across all other steak houses. The marbling is perfect, the seasoning is excellent though a bit on the saltier side I honestly love and the lobster tails (small, jumbo, and the specials) are super fresh, and very meaty. Apple crumb dessert is gone and upgrades cannot be made on the Ruth classic specials which is probably first negatives in my patronage for the last 15 years. It's not uncommon to encounter a waiter with over 25 years of experience, in my case, Carter is just a stand-out example of how service should be in the food service industry. I came here to celebrate a birthday and the day of I got a phone call asking for their name so they can put it on a menu which I thought was a really nice touch - however when I got there they got the spelling wrong which was weird since I spelled it out for Sherry(?) but not a huge deal. We were seated after about 5 minutes of waiting and promptly served water and were handed our menus. We decided to go with the calamari, chopped salad w/ no blue cheese, 16 oz ribeye, and garlic mashed potatoes. Calamari (3/5) - The initial taste was great, crisp and lightly coated in the batter. However after that initial layer of calamari, we saw the rest had been drenched in a Thai chili sauce which made the entire dish soggy and not very appetizing. I wish we would have known the dish was served like this otherwise we would have asked for the sauce to be on the side. Chopped Salad (3.5/5) - The presentation of the salad was interesting and we were expecting it to come in a bowl but I should've checked pictures beforehand. There was pretty much no flavor to this salad. It was creamy but the sauce didn't add anything to this dish. I found myself reaching for the bacon and fried onions to look for any hint of flavor. Also I did ask for no blue cheese but I definitely noticed there was a taste of blue cheese in this dish but by that point we were just hungry and wanted to get our steak. 16 oz Ribeye (4/5) - We shared a ribeye and that was more than enough as we were pretty much full from the salad and calamari. The steak was brought out on a sizzling plate of butter and they also give you individual plates also hot with butter. It was cooked perfectly medium rare but the butter was way too overpowering where I couldn't really enjoy the steak. Next time I would definitely forego the butter plate. Garlic Mashed Potatoes (3.5/5) - This was a huge size and brought out with our steak. The flavor was again lacking and drenched in butter so I had to add my own salt on the side. There was no hint of garlic in this dish as well so that was very disappointing. Overall, this was my first time here and probably my last. Unfortunately most of the food lacked flavor and it seemed like butter was their only seasoning. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice but there was an insect on my table when I got seated so that was a little off putting as well. I think it's just not my type of ambiance, and everyone is talking so it's so loud and dark. The tables are definitely all squished together. Secondly, we only asked for 2 desserts and received 3 instead because the server said he was going to "do me a favor" and added 3 to our bill. It was an experience on Saturday night this past weekend, my first time to a Ruth's Chris Steak House, my boyfriend has been to others many times. Giving you the whole experience. We had a 745 reservation for Saturday, and upon arriving right at the time, were told by this 'hostess' at the counter that they do not kick people out, so we would not be seated until a table opened up and waited 10 minutes. I guess this is fine - since the wait wasn't that long - but maybe don't accept reservations if you aren't going to provide tables at the given time? I will say that she wasn't quite pleasant for a hostess either. We were seated at a nice table 'overlooking Michelson' hahaha . Our waiter Ben showed up - he was very attentive to the cleanliness of our table, glasses, and well knowledgeable of menu items and good tequila for my boyfriends margherita. Thank you Ben for a great experience. You were very nice and supportive. He additionally took our order and upon review - discussed that what my boyfriend was actually ordering would be more cost efficient if he went the '3 course' meal route. This was a nice surprise as restaurants normally seem to want to get you to spend more. While the food was EXCELLENT, I will say that the timeliness and length of wait time before receiving things such as beverages, salad, and meal, etc did take quite a bit more time than we had hoped - but food was fantastic. Classic Caesar salad was a hit - as simple and elegantly done as it could be - with beautiful shavings of Parmesan cheese. Boyfriend got the Crusted filet - which was cooked to perfection. I got the petite filet with crab stuffed shrimp - fall selection special - and it did not disappoint. Steak cooked perfectly, and crab meat was delish. Shrimp nice and crisp as well. Veggies underneath were seasoned perfectly but a tad bit on the hard side - but overall fantastic .... with a side of Lobster Mac n' cheese - which was OH / MY / GAWD AWESOME. Took home a slice of Carrot cake (which is my favorite). The cake was moist, with a nice sweet frosting. I would say it was very good cake - but not the best I've had by far. (ever have it from The Big Texan, in Amarillo, TX? that's the best) Anyhow!! The primary downfall of the evening, was the fact that the restrooms were 'flooding' and completely inoperable for the course of our meal. This was quite frustrating and caused some angst amongst us during the meal - leading us to have to walk across the parking lot to use North Italia's restrooms any time we needed to use them. Which mostly had lines each time. Starbucks is lucky they closed early on a Saturday or people would have been using theirs instead. Due to this circumstance, and a brief conversation, the manager took care of us and shared his feelings on the events of the evening, providing his card and availability to reach out if we wanted next time we go back. I will end on one note. It's very disappointing these days to see that people do not take care in dressing appropriately for places of business, like Ruth's chris. We got dressed up like a nice date night. It's so upsetting to see patrons around in tank tops, jeans, sneakers, and tshirts, etc. If you're paying for food, like at Ruth CHris, I would hope that people could dress a bit nicer for the environment, but it was thoroughly disappointing to see the clothing on the tables that surrounded us and on the walk in. Let me just start off by saying I'm normally not a big steak lover. I like it, but enjoy other things as well. BUT let me tell you - Ruth's Chris Steak House converted me. Now I am a steak believer! I ordered the 11oz filet mignon with a truffle crust and it was cooked to perfection - medium rare just like I wanted, and oh so tender and juicy. The 11oz was the perfect size for me. We had a large group and so we ordered a handful of sides to share, including mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, brussels sprouts and mushrooms. The sides were all fine but nothing special. The steaks are really what stand out here. Oh and did I mention the steaks are sizzled in butter? I ordered a blueberry mojito to drink and it was delicious. My server told me they were out of the normal light rum that is used in mojitos, but I was fine with subbing in a dark rum, since I don't drink much and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. I was perfectly happy with it! I appreciated how courteous the waiter was though, to make sure I was happy with everything. For dessert I got to try their cheesecake, creme brulee and chocolate cake. Parking here can be challenging, but not too difficult. The place also has valet if you have trouble finding a spot. We made reservations, so we got seated quickly. We ordered from their set menu, and everything was super good. You choose an appetizer, an entree, a side, and a dessert for $60 (depending on what you get). Had a reservation for Christmas Eve at 7:45 and didn't get seated til 8:12 but then arrived to a still dirty table so had to wait a bit more for it to get cleaned. Ordered filet medium rare and lobster tail (winter selection), barbecued shrimp, lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and a pomegranate martini. While waiting for our food to come out, I saw that a pomegranate martini was ready at the bar, had a feeling it was mine, but had to wait for a really long time to have it served (I got it right before the food started coming out). It's a pretty strong drink, fruity but not strongly sweet. Overall it was smooth and a decent sized martini. The barbecued shrimp was my favorite item. So flavorful and I love the freshness of the cucumber salad that it comes with which is a nice contrast to the creamy sauce that the shrimp is coated in. Unfortunately, I found a long piece of hair sauced onto one of the pieces after I took a bite and let the guy who came to plate our other dishes know about it (he was not our server). He was really dismissive and sassy with his response, replying that it's not a big deal and that the dish could be easily replaced. Mind you, we didn't even make a big fuss about it, yes it was a complaint so we weren't sounding thrilled but it felt rly rude for him to respond like we were an issue to be finding the hair an issue. Our server, Leo I believe, and upper management however were very sweet and accommodating and apologized for the incident. I really do appreciate how upper management responded to the issue and made us feel valued as a customer. It's just the attitude of that one guy that still pmo. The filet was perfectly cooked, beautifully red and tender. I loved that the extra plate we asked for that I ate off of came with garlic butter melted on it, adding extra oomph of flavor. Lobster was tender and well seasoned. This surf and turf plate is a winter selection menu item, so I'm glad I came in at a time I could try it cuz filet and lobster are def favs of mine Lobster mac and cheese was good but not wowing, I wish the noodles came covered in the cheese and were softer. They serve their noodles quite firm. Good amount of lobster in it I was curious to try the creamed spinach cuz I saw it was a popular fav and it was decent but also not outstanding to me personally. It has a very strong spinach flavor and although I enjoy spinach, I'd prolly prefer getting the Brussels spouts or sum other vegetable next time. Ended the meal with another winter selection menu item: the chocolate molten lava cake. I was eyeing that one and after hearing our waiter's recommendation for it, we were convinced right away to get it. It was so good, rich chocolate flavor but wasn't too sweet. Not your typical molten lava cake cuz it didn't really have a liquid melted center per se, but it still def had the gooey chocolate factor. So good with the ice cream and strawberry. Food was good and I do give grace for some of the inconveniences like waiting as long as we did even w a rez due to special circumstances of it being Christmas Eve. Located across from North Italia. Parking is a scene. Had to circle a few times until I finally found a spot, but free. You can also pay to valet ($6). House bread came out warm and comforting. Goat cheese artichoke dip was ok, very heavy. Seared ahi tuna was good but bland. The steak house salad was good, nice combination of fresh ingredients and refreshing. Got the rare 16oz ribeye topped with grilled shrimp. Steak came out on a sizzling hot plate, so be careful. It was good but laying on a lake of butter. Each bite was dripping in butter. It was too much butter which took away the taste of the actual steak. The shrimps were nicely laid out like a rose on top of the steak. Garlic mashed potatoes and cream spinach were great. Cheesecake with fresh berries were excellent and a great way to end the meal. Overall great dinner other than the steak having extremes amount of butter. read more

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and chose Ruth's Chris in Irvine. We were able to get a reservation at our preferred time. The evening was fantastic. There was anniversary confetti on the table! Carter Thomas was our brilliant server. We followed his recommendations and each ordered the three course special for $55. Our steak and shrimp were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the house salad and I highly recommend the garlic mashed potatoes. The Brussel sprouts were ok. Came here to celebrate 5 years since my husband and I's first date. We arrived with a reservation and were pleased to be seated immediately. I loved the candlelit vibe and intimacy we were able to experience in the restaurant before it got too busy. Our server Ben was so knowledgeable, he answered all of our questions and had wonderful recommendations for us. He was especially helpful in navigating my gluten allergy. Liked the food and the birthday celebration! Except for the creamed spinach that we sent back due to an off taste. Great food and drink: * Appetizer. Shared a large and very tasty calamari plate, perfect combination of sweet and savory and not too chewy. * Meat. Ribeye, New York, 11-ounce center cut filet all medium rare. * Sides. Creamed spinach was sent back / taken off the bill / replaced by asparagus that was large and tender, not fibrous. The creamed spinach was good on previous visits but had an earthy taste on this visit. Cremini mushrooms au jus. The sweet potato casserole was big and sweet enough to be a dessert. * Desserts. Chocolate lava cake, free crème brûlée for the birthday guy, bread pudding with whiskey sauce. * Drinks. Shirley Temple with free refills! Water. But the service was slow. We had to repeatedly wait for our waiter to come to the dining room and then catch his attention. Payment was also slow. Recommendations: 1. Do not seat guests next to each other as they come in. Leave gaps between seated tables. That will reduce the noise from servers and other guests and add to the experience. Of course, as the restaurant fills up, tables will be taken, but meanwhile it would be nice to have some room. 2. We sat on the inside, but the servers paid more attention to chatty guests and to tables along the window. 3. Ask Corporate to let customers check the balance of a gift card online. We had some old electronic gift cards and because we could not check their balances before our visit, the restaurant had to do it, wasting everyone's time. 4. Let us pay the bill at the table. About 25 minutes to pay the bill. The bill came, then the credit card slip, then the adjusted bill without the spinach, no adjusted credit card slip, then it took about fifteen minutes to check if the electronic gift cards had a balance, then we could not pay by credit card because there was no slip, so no way to add a tip, and finally we just paid the bill and tip the old fashioned way - using physical (plastic) gift cards + cash. read more

We came to eat dinner on a Sunday night around 8PM. Parking was not too bad at this time of day luckily! We sat down and was immediately greeted by our server Esteban and got some fresh bread at the table which tasted amazing! We were both rather impressed with the food, we ordered the 3 course meal for $55 and it was worth every cent!! Cesar Salad 5/5: The salad was perfectly balanced with the amount of dressing and cheese, probably one of the best Cesar Salads I had in awhile. 6oz filet+ 3 Jumbo Shrimp 5/5: they were not kidding when they brought this out saying the plate was hot!! But overall was amazing, my steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the shrimp was seasoned well! Mashed Potato side 4/5: Overall I thought the potatoes were really good, but by boyfriend thought that it needed more butter and salt which we easily added ourselves. Personal Cheesecake 5/5: The cheesecake itself was the perfect size and a great way to end the meal as I was stuffed from the apps and entree. side note: the berries were so sweet and so good, I wish I could have more of the blackberries lol.
