We came here with a party of 5 on a Saturday at 5:45 for my dad's birthday. I did make a reservation just to make sure we had a spot but the place was very spacious so I'm not sure if it's entirely necessary, maybe later in the day. The place is beautiful, very clean, very fancy. The waiter who explained how everything works had a pretty strong accent and it was kind of loud in there so it was a little hard to understand but he was more than happy to answer any questions we had. The salad bar had a ton of variety and all of it was so good. The shrimp was delicious and spicy, the jasmine rice was so warm and soft. The potatoes were cheesy and soft. They give you complimentary mashed potatoes, cheesy bread, plantains, and French fries and all of it was cooked to perfection. It was hard to not eat all of it right away. The meat selection is a little overstimulating since the waiters are just buzzing around the tables looking for people to shave off a piece of meat for. All of the food runners were extremely friendly and looked happy to be there, there were just so many of them. You get overwhelmed because you just start saying yes to all the meat because you don't want to miss out on a good piece but then you end up with a ton of food on your plate. I tried to play it cool and only eat small portions at a time but I got full so quickly :-( the best meat had to be the filet minion, the worst being some of the lamb options, but none of it tasted bad. We didn't order any drinks because we were trying to only get full off the actual food but we had multiple waiters try to get us to order their house cocktails. It's hard to be disappointed at a place like Texas De Brazil. All you can eat delicious cuts of meat being delivered to you - hand-sliced off the skewer it was cooked on. The full-on churrasco experience is the only thing you should be preparing for here, although I've ordered takeout via DoorDash/Uber Eats as well when I've needed to hit my craving for picanha (it's surprisingly good even after delivery). The service has been strong and there's always someone coming by to offer you cuts, though don't be caught just waiting for the cuts of meat you want - they are more than happy to take your order for the meats you're waiting for. Some make the mistake of just simply sitting quiet and waiting until the desired cut comes around - don't be shy! If you enjoy a drink with your meal, treat yourself to a caipirinha while you're here - they're sweet, strong and done well. I save room in my stomach for this place when I go. My husband was the one who found this incredible restaurant and brought us here for our anniversary. At first, I wasn't sure whether I would like it because I can be a little nervous about trying new places, especially if I've never heard of them before. But my husband reassured me that the food looked good, so I decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt fancy without being over the top. The staff seated us right away and explained how everything worked. I chose the salad bar option, while my husband went with the full meat option. As soon as I tasted the food, I was immediately sold. The rice, beans, and mushrooms were all cooked perfectly. Everything had great flavor and the right amount of salt. Their salads were so good, and they had an endless supply of delicious cheeses and olive oil. They also served one of my favorite coffee brands, Lavazza, which made me very happy. On top of that, they brought out some amazing appetizers, including fries, cheesy bread, and plantains. The only downside is that the restaurant does not allow you to take food to go. Since it was going to be a little bit of a wait, I walked over to the bar to grab a couple of drinks. Within 10 minutes I received an email notification that my reservation was canceled. We started off and headed to the salad bar,I picked up a few slices of prosciutto, capers and olives. The olives were tasty. Had a Mezcalito to wash it down, that the bartender definitely made to my liking. If you like smoky and spicy, this is the one! On to the variety of meats we had the pleasure of tasting. My favorite of the night was the spicy sirloin. The juices, seasoning and the best part of was the kick of heat. Every bite was tender, juicy and flavorful. Hands down my favorite Brazilian steakhouse so far and I didn't even get the meat. I stuck with the salad bar ($32.99 for salad bar only dinner) and honestly didn't feel like I was missing out at all. Our steak loving kid asked for a Brazilian Steakhouse for their birthday dinner, so we finally dined at Texas de Brazil. Walking into the restaurant I was very surprised by the decor. The bar was gorgeous. The color scheme with all the red was beautiful. Lighting was perfect. The salad bar had a great spread that had a couple cuts of good sliced meats such as prosciutto, offered many different types of veggies, salads, sauces, etc. Against the wall at the salad bar, was mushroom, rice, lobster bisque. Honesty, I found that I loved the salad bar at Texas de Brazil better than another Brazilian Steakhouse in South OC that starts with the letter F. The salad bar alone is what would make me choose this place. Our server was, Fabian. He was amazing. He was super attentive to my party and he was so very pleasant. He always made sure our drinks were topped off and he was easy to find in case we ever needed to call him over. He took care of our table and made my son's birthday a good one. The gauchos or passadores, were constantly coming to our table with great cuts of well seasoned meats. At other Brazilian Steakhouses, we have had to ask our server or management to send people over because they always skipped our table. Not here at Texas de Brazil. We were very happy with everything overall. We would definitely come back here. Everything was perfect except when I went to pay with my e-gift cards from Costco. I didn't realize I could've just had them scan the barcodes and had six of them to do. All other restaurants always make me write the long numbers down, so it's what I am used to doing. My server was going to take the numbers as I did them since I took so much time on it. He was very considerate. Problem was the manager coming over. She made me get up to go scan them instead. She had me stand in the way of all the gauchos who were serving a table literally right where she had me stand to pay. I said I would stand behind her so I wouldn't be in the way, but she made me move next to a party's table instead, where I constantly had to move aside for the gauchos. I have long hair and literally side stepped over and over again with meats walking right by, with my hair flying close to the food. I couldn't help this and it wasn't my fault. She insisted I stand where she put me. I found that manager to be unpleasant and unprofessional. So a great evening ended with a bit of a frustrating one. The salad bar is AYCE and the servers bring the meats to you when you have the card flipped to green. Salad bar variety is great! They have variety of veggies, charcuterie meats, and sides. Each table comes with the cheese ball, fries, banana, and mashed potatoes. Some meats were a bit salty but my favorite was the picana and the lamb. Used to be a loyal customer for 4 years but during my birthday I accidentally tipped twice, I didn't intended to leave an almost 50% tip of my own dinner. When I tried to reason with the manager and ask for a refund of just half of my tip he said well next time you should not sign the receipt and since we have your signature on the tip good luck of getting that back from the bank, I can't give you that tip from my own pocket. Please save yourself it was a deplorable and rude passive aggressive experience this business has shady financial practices please avoid yourself the headache, it doesn't worth to lose a long term customer for something like that. Came to Texas de Brazil for our anniversary this past weekend and it was just okay - nothing special. We enjoyed the fresh salad bar, especially the veggies, charcuterie, and lobster bisque and the sides on the table. The Brazillian cheese bread is delicious and the cinnamon sugar bananas were great as well. As for the meats - the one standout by far was the picanha which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had a great char. The other meats such as the garlic picanha and sirloin were a bit rubbery and gristly. The barbecue pork ribs were standard as well, was very fatty and tastes like from the store since they're not smoky. Tri tip and flank steak were fine - more on the dry side since they cut us the outside pieces of the meat which were overcooked compared to the medium rare inside. The leg of lamb was super gamey and fatty - to the point of being inedible by both me and my partner and I can tolerate gamey and enjoy lamb but the gaminess of the fat was way too much. I was really looking forward to the lamb chops but they never came along with several other meats like beef ribs or filet on their listed online menu or their grilled shrimp as a part of the seasonal menu (we did get the seasonal cod on the salad bar though). We were there for over an hour and only had servers come by with tri tip, flank steak, sirloin, barbeque pork ribs, leg of lamb, garlic and regular picanha, and sausage (the sausages came around like 5 times). We were waiting around for the lamb chops, beef ribs, or grilled shrimp but nothing new was coming out after an hour. We particularly enjoyed the thin slices grilled pineapple which was we had enjoyed at other Brazilian churascarias but was missing from Fogo. But let's get real, this is all about the meat! There was an abundance of choice. Overall the selections were comparable to Fogo with a few differences. The garlic piqueña here was delicious. They also served a type of pot roast that was by request only, which was different from the other fare. Verdict ? Choose Fogo de Chao in HB if you are looking for a classy night out, with an affordable hors d'oeuvres and wine list. Go to Texas de Brazil in Irvine, if you want a more relaxed family vibe. The prices given the choices and quality of meat are comparable with a few small exceptions. Note: I ended up coming to here twice in two weeks, by coincidence, and I'd recommend getting seated near the entrance to the kitchen where the servers can't miss you. Texas De Brazil on Christmas Eve was a bad idea. I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance. We showed up on time, and it was raining, so the waiting area inside was packed. They have very little seating in the waiting area, btw. I thought since we had a reservation that it would be quick. My crankiness was exacerbated by the fact that I had skipped lunch in anticipation of ayce Brazilian BBQ. Half an hour after our reservation, we were finally seated. Immediately upon sitting, all the servers descended upon us with meats, right after we hit the salad/side item bar, and despite the fact that our card was turned over to red (meaning No Meat please). We turned them all away, given we had just sat down. The salad bar was OK, but I feel like it could have been better. The only fruit was grilled pineapple slices, which I thought was odd. After 1 round of salad, we finally had some meat. All of the ones I tried were over cooked and chewy. So very disappointing after expecting quality the likes of Agora (RIP). After trying about 4 different cuts, we didn't see anything new coming around, so I thought, I'll have second on the same meats. Well, I couldn't get anyone to bring us anything for a good 15 minutes. We tried to flag the meat servers down, with no luck. I ordered more cheese bread, and that came out quickly thankfully. Honestly, that was the best part of the meal. Finally got one more cut of meat, and one more round of sides, but by then I was full. Maybe that's the plan? Get you full on the cheap stuff?? After this experience, I won't be coming back to dine in. I do have some money leftover on a gift card, so I'll be spending that on take out (which I saw a lot of people picking up!). However, being busy is not an excuse for poor planning, mismanagement, or inadequate service, especially at this price point. To start, reservations exist for a reason. We arrived on time for our reservation, yet were placed on a "list" instead of being seated. After waiting about 30 minutes, I asked the male host for an update and was told we were "number four on the list." My wife--already understandably upset given the occasion--asked again shortly after and was immediately accommodated by the female hostess, which raised questions about consistency and communication at the host stand. The next major issue was the meat service (or lack of it). We had to ask our server three separate times to have gauchos stop by our table instead of skipping us. When meat finally arrived, it was either raw or severely overcooked (see photos). This felt less like bad luck and more like poor coordination or insufficient staffing, possibly not having enough gauchos scheduled for the volume of guests. Lastly, toward the end of our meal, we overheard specific cuts of meat being offered to nearby tables--cuts that were never mentioned or offered to us at any point. That was especially disappointing and left us feeling overlooked as customers. Overall, this experience felt like a combination of mismanagement and improper planning, which is frustrating given the expectations for a special occasion and the reputation of Texas de Brazil - Irvine. However, most of the meats were extremely salty, to the point where we drank more water to wash down the salt, than filling up on meat. Pretty disappointed in my experience at Texas de Brazil. The salad bar we lack luster, didn't have any great options to really choose from. The customer service here is attentive and friendly. Even though we went during a really busy weekend, the staff did their best to ensure we were well taken care of. The meats were moist, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The variety offered was impressive, and the buffet selection had a great layout with an amazing range of sides to complement the main course. It's clear they prioritize quality across the board. That said, the only hiccup was that one alcoholic drink took a while to come out--almost by the time we were finishing our meal. A huge shoutout to Renato, who served us the pork belly with honey and lime--without a doubt, the best meat of the night. If you go, this is a MUST-TRY! My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. This spot is about an hour and 10 minutes away from us because of traffic in LA and well worth a drive. The Caipirinhas, amazing. Over 10 flavors! The staff, superb! The food, outstanding! The meat, excellent, and bountiful! The servers, attentive! the dessert, top notch! One of the things that we like about this place is the selection of prime cuts along with how they use charcoal and not gas. The flavor in the meat is excellent. The food was delicious and super flavorful. Service was great too. If you get a drink for happy hour, ASK your waiter how much it is!!! We didn't ask because he said it was happy hour and said the drink was with two shots so we didn't think anything of it.
