We were recently invited to an event at this Morton's location. We haven't been back to Morton's for a couple years since the last few times we were there, the steaks were just okay and not phenomenal. We decided to go with the seabass this time and that was an excellent choice. The fish was nice and firm and very delicious. Someone else had the filet mignon and that was good. The restrooms; however, needed better maintenance. Everything was pitched black in there but that didn't really cover up how old the restrooms are. So came here to taste their $2 Filet Thursday for today only. Confession that I haven't seen this place whenever I go to South Coast Plaza so promotion brought me here. Filet mignon sandwiches for $2 each limit 8. Good way to try this place to see if it is worth it as we sometimes do. Found out Happy Hour ends at 6:30pm, with Sun- Friday from open to 6:30pm. The filet sliders were ok. No biggie, but you can't beat it for $2 each for a special offer. $12 filet sandwich during Happy Hour? Yeah, maybe. I want to try other happy hour items next time like the smash burgers. Onion rings was hot and good. Then maybe a ribeye after that on our 3rd try if any. Need to be convinced first. Seating at the bar for the Filet mignon specials until 8pm today only. Place seems swanky. Dark interiors give you that classy vibe although don't feel you need to be swanky dressed, especially in the bar area. Just decently dressed is good enough. Cmon, it's swanky so still dress decently as a human being that you are. Friendly and attentive staff and well dressed. Close captioned TVs at the bar area. Drinks a plenty. Had a Soda, fell flat! We came into Morton's just after 4:30 specifically to enjoy happy hour. There were four of us, and there was clearly room at the bar, but the bartender immediately told us that the available seats were reserved. Because of that, we ended up sitting at a bar-top table, which was not where we wanted to sit. What was frustrating was that we were there for approximately an hour and a half, and during that entire time several individual patrons came and went from the bar, yet the party we were told had reserved those seats never showed up. It left us wondering why we couldn't have simply been seated at the bar in the first place. Unfortunately, the bartender was not very welcoming from the moment we arrived, and throughout our visit she repeatedly seemed to be watching our table, which made us feel uncomfortable. That being said, our waiter Brandon was AMAZING and completely changed the experience for us. He was genuinely sweet, attentive, gave us great recommendations, and made sure our waters were always filled. He provided exactly the kind of warm, professional service you expect when visiting Morton's. Brandon deserves 5 stars. Sadly we had the worst Morton's experience this year on my son's bday/Mother's Day celebration. Took almost 2 hours for our food, wasn't the servers fault at all, sounds like the kitchen was way backed up! Everything came out very slowly and not all at once. We can hear multiple other tables complaining of waiting over an hour for food. We have been long time Morton's customers and come for birthdays and all celebrations. We were on a time constraint and felt once we got our food, we had to rush and eat it and cut the birthday dessert short and take it to go. We may need to rethink our future celebration dinners sadly or go back to the Anaheim location. The sea bass was very salty and overly marinated with the miso. The rest of our food once we got them were good; NY steak, filets, crab cake, lobster Mac and cheese, fries, onion rings. Unfortunately, the long wait time over shadowed the good food. I've been coming here for years, and this past Saturday was the most disappointing visit I've had. My salad did not come out at the same time as my husband's oysters. I had to ask for it to be canceled before it arrived, and it was brought out anyway after I spoke up. My kids' drinks were not refilled until I asked. We've dined at Morton's numerous times and yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. As soon as we arrived for our reservation, we were seated. Server was attentive in asking our order. We had crispy rice nueskes bacon, wagyu dumpling as our appetizers and they were so good. We each had a filet mignon My filet was good, however my husband's filet was a bit overcooked. Came here on a random Monday after perusing social media over the weekend. Sat at the bar. Ordered the Special. They had a collab with Veuve Clicquot: A Glass of champagne or a Belvedere Martini. 2 Wagyu Sliders. Truffle fries. All served in cute boxes bearing the iconic color and brand. All of it was amazing. Paired with great service from the bartenders, this was easily a way better experience than I have had in the past. Though food quality and cocktails has never really been my issue with Morton's. This was a far reach from the last time I was here with my best friends for a holiday dinner, in which we were singled out for being too loud. I have video I would share, but lets not delve too deep into that. But I digress. If Morton's can continue to do great collabs like this, withgood value, I could see myself coming in more often. We decided to visit for Mother's Day. We made reservations and were there on time. The hostess was very friendly and we were sat relatively quick. I do have to note that they were very busy, a lot of groups were coming in at the same time. We were sat in the smaller room to the left. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We did corkage for a bottle ($35). 2 people in our party had the Mother's Day special and I shared a big steak with my brother. The server eventually came by to apologise for the wait and let us know that the kitchen was a bit backed up. We all appreciated the fact that he let us know and we could tell they were very busy. Their onion bread loaf was so fresh it was steaming when we cut it open! The wedge salad was delicious as usual. The ribeye bone in steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. I tried my bfs crab cake and it was really delicious! We asked for their chocolate lava cake dessert which is so rich and delicious. My wife brought me here for dinner to celebrate my 30th Birthday. The service itself was 5 stars, all the staff including the floor manager were very attentive and friendly. We've been to Morton's before but this was our first time at this location. We've started off with the Wagyu beef Dumplings and the French onion soup. The dumplings were so delicious but the soup was a little bland. We shared the 16oz prime Cajun ribeye with a lobster tail and the king crab mashed potatoes. That entire entree was excellent, very rich and flavorful. Our server brought us out a crème brûlée to finish off our meal and although I'm not the biggest fan of that dessert, it was actually really good. Morton's was probably the first real steakhouse I'd ever been to. That was like 20 years ago. I used to go so often, we wouldn't even feel the need to get super dressed up. But that was then... Anyhow I've recently dined at this place and it didn't disappoint. The service was great and the food was great. The food review: Onion bread: a complimentary item served with butter. Although I prefer a sourdough bread, this one was still good. Ribeye steak: ordered medium and it was pink in the middle. Grilled to perfection. Melted in my mouth. I ordered a side of garlic butter that wasn't really necessary because it was already delicious. Broccolini: it had great flavor. So buttery. A little too much butter for my taste but still pretty tasty Espresso martini: the server said it's the best she's had. Although it was good, I've definitely had better. Came here with my meetup group of 7 ppl for the Lobster Indulgence promo. $69 for a 2# lobster and if you are an LSC member, which I am, you get a glass of sparkling wine. While everything initially started off great, after one of my guest received his drink, salad and appetizer it all went downhill after that. The rest of our party was hungry and waiting and we had to ask the server when can the food arrive for the rest of the table? He said that because the one person has salad and an appetizer, the kitchen was waiting til he finished - we had already been waiting around for over an hour. We said No, we're hungry and would like to have our meal prepared. Another half hour or so goes by and we start receiving our food. We had 4 orders of the 2# Lobsters but one order was obviously way less than 2#. Maybe 1 to 1-1/2 but definitely not 2#. We mentioned it and altho the server couldn't change it, the manager offered to give an additional small lobster. Great. As we started consuming our meal, both my lobster as well as my sister's lobster was rather mushy, particularly the tail. The tail meat also was not a bright white, but instead was maybe grayish? The claws were fine. The head butter was dark green and disgusting looking. Normally, I would at least taste it but nope - not this time. The poop vein was also dark green and disgusting looking. Definitely was not a fresh live lobster then. We didn't want to say anything but we were definitely disappointed. Service really started going downhill. We also no longer received refills on our drinks or even getting asked how we were doing. Considering that we were one of the first parties to arrive that evening, we were almost going to become one of the last to leave. There were a few mistakes with charges on our bills with wrong prices and not crediting gift cards. Finally was able to complete all transactions and head home, but immediately had to visit the royal porcelain throne cuz something obviously was not right from our dinner. read more

My friends and I came for dinner on Christmas Eve. We had a reservation for 8 pm, and it took us around 20 minutes to be seated at our table. The waiting area for this Morton's is a tight, narrow hall. People were lined up against the walls waiting, and it was a tad awkward! We were greeted quickly by our server once we were seated. Most of us got the 22-oz bone-in rib eye medium rare and a variety of sides to share. For starters, I went with the lobster bisque. Here is a rating of all the starters/sides: Lobster bisque - This was tasty, but nothing special. My friends had the French onion soup, which looked tasty. Grilled asparagus - These were a little soft/soggy and didn't have much flavor. Bacon scalloped potatoes - Tender potatoes and good bacon flavor. Mac and cheese - The worst thing we had. The shells were soft, and it was quite bland. It was not at all like steakhouse mac and cheese. Spinach and mushrooms - My friends enjoyed this a lot. It was bland to me. Shoestring truffle fries - This was the best side. It had a lot of flavor. Now the steaks... Wow, Morton's steaks have some crust. I'd say top-notch. Unfortunately, I ordered medium-rare, but received a medium-well steak. By the time I got to the loin area and noticed, I had already eaten most of the fat cap, so I didn't send it back. We came here for OC Restaurant Week thinking it would be comparable to Ruth's Chris or Flemings, but man we were wrong. They don't have a kids menu so this place is not family friendly. First, service was embarrassingly slow and they kept forgetting about us. Second, why was there so much salt in everything??? I think the only thing I enjoyed here was the fries, but even then, that was crazy salty and we had to send it back. Third, my filet mignon was overcooked but I was too hungry to send it back so I just begrudgingly ate it. It had been twenty years since I had been to a Morton's and was excited to come back. We arrived and were immediately greeted and seated at the reservation time. Our server promptly delivered the food and drink menus. We had requested some bread as I was so hungry I was ready to eat the tablecloth. We placed our drink ordered and then reviewed the food menu. The menu had many offerings to choose from. I chose the dry-aged ribeye and my colleague chose a fish dish. We ordered three sides to share: Truffle creamed corn, Brussel's Sprouts with bacon and potatoes Au Gratin. After about a thirty minute wait, the bread arrived. The rest of the food arrived shortly after. This was my first time eating a dry-aged steak. The flavor was good, the steak was cooked perfectly inside but the outside was completed charred and burned to as crisp. I was puzzled by this. The burned part prevented this from being good because it wasn't tender. The sides were nothing special. I was not amazed by the truffle creamed corn or the Brussel's Spouts. I was disappointed with the third side because they dropped off mashed potatoes instead of the Au Gratin potatoes that I ordered. I sent it back and asked for the correct order. I was disappointed again when they arrived because they had onions in them and I asked specifically if these had onions in them before ordering and I was told "no." While taking the first cuts of our entrees, our server proceeded to ask if we were ready to order dessert and I replied "too soon." We were asked again about 10 minutes later while half way through the entree. The restaurant was nice; good ambiance. Despite our issues, the server was polite but this visit missed the mark. For starters, our server Marquez J. was so nice and friendly, it made the start of our first experience here that much more enjoyable. Ambiance is somewhat dark and intimate. Very clean, classy, and upscale. The food, starting with the bread and butter was already a hit at our table. We tried not to eat it all so we could save our appetites. Since it was the last day for OC restaurant week, we decided to go with that menu so we could try a few items each for $60 which is definitely not bad. I also ordered a non alcoholic beverage which was nice and refreshing, called, strawberry nogroni. For my starter, I got the lobster bisque which was very delicious, highly recommend. Nice pieces of lobster inside and such a savory flavor. For my main entree and accompaniment, I got the 6oz filet (medium) with truffled cream corn. The steak was so tender and I also added a bearnaise sauce which put it over the top. My truffles cream corn was tasty as well and I definitely devoured that. For my dessert, I got crème brûlée which you can never go wrong with. The only little matter we experienced was that we ordered scallops and that didn't come until after our entree arrived. Those were good however the jam that came with the scallops was a pass for me. I ended up dipping my scallops in the bearnaise sauce. I also forgot to take a picture of it. Sorry! Our overall experience was great and my husband and I said we would definitely come here again. There's plenty of parking, reservations were easy to make, and finding the restaurant was easy as well. I celebrated Valentine's Day with my boyfriend at Morton's. I made a reservation on OpenTable about a month in advance. As a steakhouse, the ambiance was naturally upscale. Plenty of couples were here, dressed in red dresses and handsome button downs. Given the holiday, they were quite busy. Upon check in, we were told that there might be a delay, but we were seated at 8pm on the dot. Our server, however, did not take our order until 20 minutes after we had sat down. There was also a Prix Fixe menu available for Valentine's day, but we found it odd how our server didn't bring it up. We had to ask for it ourselves.  The Valentine's Day Prix Fixe menu will set each couple back $179. It comes with your choice of appetizer, a 28 oz bone in "Empire Cut," twin lobster tails, two butters/sauces, and your choice of dessert. We also opted for three accompaniments, which cost around $10-20 each. I also had a cocktail from the bar - the "Cherry Blossom Martini." Sweet, floral, and delightful. Our appetizer of choice was the lobster bisque, served in two mini cups. It was delicious. Rich, creamy, with robust lobster flavor. Our server advised us to dip our bread into the soup, and it was amazing. The bread itself was flavored - I believe it was some sort of onion loaf - which went very well with the soup. Somewhere between our second loaf of bread, I had to stop myself because we had a humongous meal still on the way. In hindsight, I wish I kept eating the soup and bread because that was probably the best thing we had all night.  The steak was pretty good. I liked the black truffle butter, but the garlic butter was just ok. The sides were bland. I think the entire meal could have benefited from a good, hearty pinch of salt all around. For accompaniments, we opted for the jumbo grilled asparagus, lobster macaroni shells & cheese, and black truffle & lobster mashed potatoes. The asparagus was fine. I was especially disappointed by the lobster mac & cheese. I found it ironic that shells were the pasta of choice for this dish. Shells are a popular choice for mac and cheese as their grooves are able to catch and hold the cheese sauce, creating little pockets of bursting cheesy goodness. In the case of the lobster mac, there was not much cheese to catch. The saucy was thin and runny, barely coating the pasta at all. The black truffle & lobster mashed potatoes were underwhelming as the black truffle flavor was faint. For dessert, we chose "Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake," which, surprise surprise, was just a molten lava cake. Pretty good, honestly. Fun fact, when I was 8 years old or so, I watched an episode of Arthur where Arthur's dad attempts to bake a souffle. After watching the episode, I really wanted to try a souffle for myself, so my dad looked up where he could get me one. We settled on Morton's. So he took me, t-shirt and all, to the Morton's in Anaheim so that I could try a souffle. I really liked it. For a grade-schooler, it was such a fancy experience. I learned the word "sabayon" that night. "Would you like some more sabayon on your souffle?" the waiter asked the 8 year old me. Fast forward to about a year ago, I took my dad to the Santa Ana Mortons for Father's Day. I was saddened to hear that the souffle was no longer on the menu, but it would have been so nice if it was still available for dessert. Overall, Morton's is ok. My past couple of visits have been lukewarm... nothing compared to the magic I felt that one day after watching Arthur. I don't think I would come back unless I heard the souffle made a surprise reappearance. read more

Came in for a late night happy hour and definitely left the restaurant feeling happy. The atmosphere was very sleek and classy; don't think they had a dress code but I pulled up in a hoodie and jeans and still felt extremely welcomed by the staff anyway. Noelani, our bartender, was a ray of sunshine. She kept us engaged and satisfied throughout the entirety of our meal and single-handedly made our dining experience one of the best we've ever had. Even the manager stopped by several times to check in on us and made sure we were enjoying our meals. The drinks were out-of-this-world as was the food we ordered: onion rings, filet sliders, smash burgers, and a traditional cheesecake (pictured below and also 90% eaten because we were being big backs and forgot to let our phones eat first). I didn't expect this from such a fine dining establishment. I called the restaurant to have the charges reversed, which felt like an unnecessary hassle. Any effort to try to return the purse to me was clearly not available. They made it sound like a chore that I requested them to take my number down in case someone who worked there turned it in. I've been a frequent customer at Morton's but was thoroughly disappointed on my most recent visit. I came on a Thursday around 7pm and sat in the bar/lounge area. It wasn't very busy and there were only a few occupied tables in the main dining area as well. Our waitress took our drink order and our drinks arrived within a few minutes. They forgot one drink and it took awhile to flag down someone to ask for the missing drink. From there, it went downhill. After waiting for one hour (we ordered 4 burgers), we hadn't seen our waitress again and we thought our food order wasn't placed. We went up to the bartender behind the bar to ask if he can check on our food. He checked and said it would be out shortly. During that one hour wait, we didn't see our waitress, they didn't ask if we wanted to order more drinks, and there were no updates on our food. Finally, our food arrived. It took an awful long time for burgers of all things to come out. I think they realized we were forgotten and began checking on us every 5 minutes once our food arrived. By this point, we just wanted to eat and go home. I could understand if they were busy but it wasn't busy at all. The saving grace was that the burgers were tasty. read more

My first time coming to Morton's Steakhouse and it was a 10/10 great experience. I love the ambiance when walking in the dim light and the festive decorations were very nice visually. We made a reservation so we were seated right away; the hostess was very nice and our server was very nice and she was on top of making sure we had everything we needed. We were served bread with butter after we were seated and it was very delicious. We ordered a starter wagyu beef dumplings (10/10). We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese (10/10) and for our main entree we ordered chicken Christopher and the lobster tail both (10/10) for dessert we had Creme brulee, and it was very tasty. I'll start off by saying the service itself by Chris our waiter was good minus he forgot to pack our onion bread to go once we left. But the overall experience took a super long time. It took almost 4 hours for all of our food to come all the way thru, everything just came out super slow and super late. We were literally the last ones in the restaurant to leave and that was disappointing. Good thing we ordered a lot of drinks and a whole bottle of wine to keep ourselves entertained, but that took a long time to finish dinner. The ribeye was very flavorful but inconsistently cooked, my medium rare was perfect whereas my husbands medium rare was still alive mooing, it was super red. I also recommend their truffled creamed corn, it's very flavorful and their Caesar salad was also very cold and fresh. Their complimentary onion bread in the beginning is literally so addicting that's why I was kind of bummed our waiter forgot to pack ours. Now what was just ok was the lobster Mac and cheese shells, it really lacked flavor needed salt or something. The Wagyu meatballs and the oysters were also a bit overpriced and mediocre in taste and I would not recommend. The place is nicely dim lit and perfect for a date night. A lot of parking, but no valet service. Also it was our friends bday and they decorated the table and had a cute little sign that said happy bday. All of the food was excellent! The cajun ribeye was so flavorful, better than any ribeye I've had at any high-end restaurant through the years. The parmesan, truffle, matchstick fries were so good, and the onion rings were crunchy and delicious! The cocktails were perfectly made too! The service was attentive, professional and friendly! I was pleasantly surprised with this fine dining steakhouse chain! Friday night was quite busy, reservations recommended. Service was very good, and food was amazing! The bread starter tastes like "everything" seasoning, and was fresh. The crab cake lived up to the hype of Yelp "popular dish" recommendations. I ordered the crab cake and lobster ravioli appetizers, good portions for a taster, but not leaving you too full for dinner. Now onto the mains, the steak surpassed our expectations with flavoring and texture. I ordered the truffle butter, but the steak was so flavorful I didn't end up using it. The miso sea bass was also very good. For sides we ordered the Gouda bacon scalloped potatoes which were cooked well and a unique spin on this dish. The green beans were also very tasty and had unique flavoring. For dessert, we order the legendary, hot chocolate cake, which did not disappoint, pretty impressive considering the name. The cake was very rich and paired well with the vanilla ice cream. Overall great service, easy parking, excellent food, and wonderful ambiance. read more

While it was certainly friendly, the service was an abomination. No busboys, 2 waiters, 90 percent empty restaurant last night. There was no ambiance, 5 tables were occupied in a dark unfriendly room. Once we were served our appetiser everything went down hill. The lobster tasted boiled, frozen, and then thawed. The crab tasted the same flavorless, in fact we left some sitting. The oysters were fresh. After we finished, we the appetizer, the empty seafood tower plate sat on the table for more than 25 minutes after we finished it. One person removed that, but all the small plates were still on table. After another 20 min the salads came out. Wedge so drenched in dressing, it was inedible, 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half and half a piece of bacon crumbled, outrageous. After 1.5 hours in the restaurant, the entrees were served. The filet was overcooked for medium rare, 1/4 all around not a speck of pink, center barely med rare, barely warm. They offered to replace but by this time it was 845. My companions were eating fish so it made no sense. The sea bass portion was so small, I doubt it was 3 ounces. It looked like one piece of sea bass was cut in half by thickness. It was approximately 3/8 inch thick and 3 inches long. A complete rip off. Everything was heavy with salt. This is not a place I would recommend. It has gone down hill dramatically as evidenced by the lack of diners. We had a 7 pm reservation, we didn't leave until 945 despite few in restaurant because the service was so slow. The waiter was doing everything from drinks to clearing table. If she had 3 tables, impossible to provide service expected at that price point. The dinner was over $500 with tip, had better service anywhere. read more
