    Fennel sausage pizza

I went here for dinner with a group of 3 at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. We added ourselves to the Yelp waitlist on the way and it was about a 10 minute wait, we were seated right as we got to the restaurant. We ordered the Caesar salad, wings, fennel sausage pizza and mushroom pizza to share. We were told it would take about 30 minutes for the pizza to come out but felt like it came out before that, although it was timed perfectly with finishing the appetizers. Everything tasted great - the wings had a bit of an Asian kick to them (I think because of the fish sauce) and the salad was very fresh and came with anchovies to add on the side. Each pizza comes with 6 slices and we only ate about half and brought the rest home. The crust was thin and crispy and the flavors for both were great, would love to come back and try other pies. Prices were on the higher side and we paid ~$100 prior to tip for 2 pizzas and 2 apps (I think the pizzas were about $30 each. Parking is free in the shared lot or street/metered parking. The lot is quite small and serves this restaurant along with father's office and pasta sisters so there's not much parking available.

Starting with the positives, Folks Pizzeria is a GREAT place for apps and drinks with a bright, indoor/outdoor vibe. Our server was very attentive. The chicken wings are to die for. They are perfectly sauced and crispy, with a very subtle tanginess to them from the lemon and Italian fish sauce. Cocktail menu is fun and delicious, order the Paloma! Something is off about the pizza though (nooo!!). The blistered crust is divine, but the cheese and sauce on both the red and white pies aren't what I was expecting at this price point. Bites felt rubbery, and the cheese and toppings kept sliding off the crust. I know you can't compare apples to oranges, but I would choose Pitfire Pizza's mushroom pizza over this any day. Anyway, parking at the Helms District is a little more challenging now with IKEA in the same lot. But it's not impossible!

Folks Pizzeria recently opened in Helms area of Culver City and I can't wait to go back. The patio is well covered and the restaurant has a groovy musical playlist. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Caesar Salad is massive and has an excellent balance. They are also thoughtful and put the anchovy on the side. The meatballs are tasty and come with bread which is crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. The arancini was quite delightful and has corn inside. The pizza is well balanced. The next time I go I'd like to try one of their white pies.

if I could give this place Zero stars, I would. TLDR; service is rude. Skip this place and get yourself a pizza at Laurel Grill or go to Roberta's down the street! Many many other places you should try and go to before this place. Even pasta sisters across the plaza has way better service and management !!!! Let's start off with the service. Went at 6:00 and tried to sit early to order apps and drinks while waiting for one more person to arrive m, but the bar is full seating so you can't order drinks without your full party being there - an immediate miss. So we check in and he said 20-30 minutes, even thought 80% of tables were empty since they only opened at 5pm. We came back at 6:40 and sat outside which is a nice open air back patio with about 10 tables. We ordered wine, beer and a soda. The server brings out the drinks and immediately SPILLS the entire order onto the table. He apologizes And walks away. Another server and the manager (a woman) come up with rags to mop it up and the woman says SPLASH ZONE. Dead face, no apology. No acknowledgment that they broke the wine glass and three drinks all over us!!! It was actually a comment in absolute poor taste. Mind you, this is the MANAGER saying this, making a joke and no apology whatsoever. They resend a new order of drinks 10 mins later, again no acknowledgment or apology at all. We get the arancini, it's actually really good value for the price! This was the best time. Pizza.... SO MID, very underwhelming to say the least. The dough ratio is so off, too much crust on the outside and not enough in the middle. As described, it's a pizza you have to use knife and fork because nothing stays on.

    Austin C.

Good vibes, awesome service, and pretty great food! The pizza itself has more bread than I prefer, but the flavor was there. The arancini had the perfect amount of crisp and breading, and the meatballs were delicious. Looking forward to trying the other menu offerings!

When going to Folks Pizzeria I saw that it had the Yelp Waitlist feature and were able to get there with almost no wait at all even though it was a busy sunday night with a 45 minute wait. That was an awesome start to our evening. When I was called up to the hostess stand I was seated immediately at the bar seating and my order was taken. I ordered the meatballs, arancini, apricots, and Salame Calabrese pizza. The waiter let us know at that time it would be a 45 minute for the pizza so we knew it would be a wait before we ordered. That was perfect because it gave my party time to enjoy the appetizers which started to come out under 10 minutes from when we ordered. I really liked the apricots they tasted very fresh. It was a nice blend of savory and sweet. Next came out the arancini which were amazing, super crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside, it was perfect with the sauce it came with. Thirdly the meatballs which came with bread were fantastic. The meatballs tasted similar to the seasoning of an Italian sausage. The red sauce the meatballs were in was also great and after we finish the meatballs we saved it to dip our pizza crusts in. Lastly the pizzas came out and were incredible. The pepperoni pizza had pepperonis in every bite and was the exact flavor profile you would hope for. The salame pizza was similar but had a little bit of a kick to it comparatively. I loved the occasional bite of basil in both pizzas. Between 2 people this was a lot of food and we took half of it home to eat tomorrow. I would rank the ambiance of this restaurant with some of the more vibey restaurants in LA. Fitting perfectly with Culver City and the Helm's district.

Love having Folks in Culver City. The new location is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! The space has a great vibe, the service was excellent, and everything we tried was delicious. This location also has a full bar, which makes it an even better place to spend an evening! Definitely coming back.

If you live in the area and haven't been yet, you have no idea how lucky you are to have Folk's in your neighborhood. We've been making the pilgrimage to the original Folk's in Costa Mesa religiously since 2021, and hands down, it's the best pizza in Southern California. The sourdough crust is next level -- genuinely unlike anything else around. The meatballs with a side of that same sourdough bread? Heaven. The wings and fries are finger-licking good, and even the Caesar salad is elevated and unique (not a throwaway side at all). I could keep going. Don't walk -- run!

    Cindy E.

We recently visited this new pizza place and overall had a really great experience. The bread alone is worth talking about. It was fresh, flavorful, and so good. The pizzas lived up to the hype too, with that signature airy, sourdough-style crust. A special thank you to Dawn for making our visit feel extra special. Your hospitality really stood out. Congratulations on the opening! We're wishing you all the success and are looking forward to coming back again soon.

Some places open. Some arrive. There's a new restaurant at the old Helms Bakery, and a place like this makes perfect sense here. Not loud enough to announce itself, not quiet enough to disappear. Just there, like it's always belonged. We've spent time with Folks Pizzeria Costa Mesa, so there's a certain expectation walking into their new Culver City location. Not hype. Not flash. Just the kind of confidence that comes from people who understand food and appreciates quality. The Asian Wings arrive sticky and savory, with just enough heat to keep you grabbing more. Not a reinvented dish, but one that feels familiar in all the right ways. The Asparagus. Simple. Clean. Cooked with restraint, which is rarer than it should be. Nothing fighting for attention, just doing its job perfectly. The Apricots are where things shift. Unexpected. A little playful. Natural sweetness lifted by tajín and something just out of reach. It lingers. It stays with you. The Caesar Salad. Don't think about it. Just get it. And then the Pizzas. The reason you came, whether you admit it or not. Balanced, blistered, unapologetically good. This is food that doesn't chase trends. It builds the process. Sets its own bar. Add a glass of natural wine, maybe a cocktail, and suddenly time slows down in the best possible way. Folks Pizzeria is built for people who care about what they eat, and who they share it with. No performance. Just good food, done right. And Chloe, steady at the Helm, makes it all feel effortless. The kind of hospitality that makes you willing to sit through two hours of traffic just to show up, share a laugh, and raise a glass to something well earned. Folks, it turns out, is exactly that. A place for people. The ones who know, have arrived.

The staff, vibe, service, and drinks were incredible. However the pizza was a bit burnt.:( I was a bit disappointed. I'm not sure if it's because we showed up at 9:30pm, but it wasn't what I expected.

What an amazing treat that's come to Culver City!!! Now I am far from a foodie, but every bite is a sensation as you can't imagine; whether its fennel from the sausage or basil, Oregano... then there's the cocktail at a $12 price is unheard of (inexpensive fothe quality) I was on my own as I honestly just made a quick run to the new Ikea working on building my craft space one piece of furniture at a time. My 3rd trip to the new Ikea & just walked out of Father's office for poor service (in 10+ years I have never stayed for even a Mexican Diet Coke, wine or burger... the service is that bad, but decided to see what's new & wasn't in the mood for Pasta Sisters (always good) I wanted to try the new Japanese restaurant & saw a huge crowd waiting at old La Digonaise. Somehow beat the hour? Wait & a seat at the bar (a wait list there, but a single seat) the pizza was going to take at least 30 minutes & I had to see why.... people were just happy on a Friday night, in so many years its been, nobody talks to each other... not here. (I was probably too excited as caregiving my mom, I just don't go out) people were sharing food, I gave a piece of Pizza & got a meatball & then shared a piece of bread & taste of the butter, adjacent people over ordered, I was bringing food home for mom. THIS IS A TRULY SPECIAL PLACE & BELIEVE IT'S HERE TO STAY!!! THANK YOU FOR SUCH HOSPITALITY!!!

Drinks were good but pizza was salty, burnt, and undercooked. The cesar salad was also very salty and left my mouth dry. $80 meal for 2 and food was bad.

Apparently, half of LA got the same notice because by the time I arrived, it was PACKED! I grabbed one of the last stools in front of the coffee bar, and was later able to grab a corner table so I could order food. Definitely get here early if you want a table. The live band was fantastic! They played a lot of salsa classics, including some of my favorites. There was lots of dancing in the aisles and singing along. Such a great vibe. I also loved the decor, especially the collage on the main wall: A bright and beautiful homage to the City of Angels. The staff did their absolute best to deliver food and drinks, bus tables, and otherwise navigate the throngs of dancing patrons and I commend them for their agility. Onto the food and drink. There were so many delicious options to choose from and after an impossibly long time deliberating (and dancing), I decided on the salmon caesar salad. Fresh, flavorful and delicious. I enjoyed every bite. The strawberry lemonade was ok. Not worth what I paid for it. I expected something fresher and more flavorful... What I got was bland and watered down. I was planning to order dessert, but that salad was much more filling than I anticipated. Parking around here is kind of tight so plan ahead and consider taking a ride sharing service. I managed to snag one of the last parking spaces in the nearby residential area. Not sure I would have been so lucky if I had arrived a few minutes later. All told, this was a great place to spend a Saturday night. Will definitely check this place out again the next time I'm in LA.

Another criteria they were looking for was a nice place to hang out. We ended up deciding on Green Table Cafe because my daughter said that this cafe sold smoothies and it was a cute place based on the pictures she saw online. Once we got to the cafe, it had an inviting vibe and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly, but I wasn't a fan of the Chocotino smoothie and the table we sat at was not cleaned prior to us sitting there. Green Table Cafe is located in Los Angeles specifically on Pico Blvd. and Stearns Drive. It's next to an India Spices & Groceries store and it's across the street from CVS. Parking is mainly street parking and we found a metered parking spot across the street that didn't cost too much. Once we entered the cafe, we were greeted by small red car that someone could win if you participate in their $20/ticket raffle and a welcome greeting from the gentleman behind the counter. It's definitely a cute and inviting place with a large painted sentence "Love what you do Do it with LOVE" on the wall behind the counter. There are other inspirational wall art scattered around the restaurant. There are floral decorations throughout, wooden slat ceiling, natural light, and other accents that match the vibe. There are round marble tables with blue velvet and blue plastic chairs, a skinny wooden table with a sofa, and there are covered outdoor seating. Not sure if the gentlemen behind the counter was the owner or manager, but he was customer service oriented and was friendly to every customer who entered the cafe. My review is solely based on the smoothie I ordered because that's all I experienced. If we ever visit again, I would like to try their food and desserts because the desserts and pastries looked enticing. The description of their savory food on their menu made them sound delicious, but I won't know until I try. Based on its name, the verbiage on the menu, and what I drank, it appears Green Table Cafe is for the healthy conscious consumer. Their menu consists of coffee drinks, smoothies, superfood bowls, salads, and burgers/paninis. The words gluten-free, kale, quinoa, acai, hemp milk, and mint extract hearken to someone with a vegan diet. I'm a carnivore and I like to eat whatever I enjoy, so I'm probably not their target customer. I ordered their Chocotino smoothie and I wasn't a fan from the first sip to the last. The Chocotino is made with almond milk, banana, cacao, protein powder, rolled oats, almond yogurt, dark chocolate, peppermint oil, and goji berries. It leaned heavily on a peppermint taste and when I let my daughter taste it, she said it reminded her of a York peppermint patty candy. I definitely was not a fan and I almost brought it back to exchange, but I kept hoping it would taste better. I stirred it with my straw, but it didn't change my disdain for this smoothie. My kiddos got the smoothies they craved and a place that was a cool place to hang out. I didn't enjoy my smoothie, but that's what parents do. We make sacrifices for our kids.
